I like what john shared. It leads me to ask, is this discussion sub-forum even necessary? Now hear me out, lol. If everyone posted their shows, matches and segments-- and had all discussions about them on the main page in their own thread, and if we had ONE "Hype Thread" in the main Pic Fed forum to post new shows, upcoming shows, rosters, news, HYPE, etc. it would help us not look like a total barren wasteland of a forum and sub-forum. No hype threads or promises on main page pushing things down, and all news on upcoming feds, plus revelant discussion about items posted in the ONE hype stickied thread would keep discussion moving and hopefully frequent. Let's face it, the discussion sub-forum is just a place for random people to post promises that are rarely ever delivered upon. Thoughts? (Sorry for the Large Wall of Text)

(Sorry for the Large Wall of Text) Wars Sounds great as long as it doesnt turn into a chat thread again, we know how those turn out all the time. Maybe a few of us can reach out to former fedders that have put out shows recently to think about coming back on and giving it another try so to speak.

I'd be all for a hype thread of sorts, but like John said: it may turn into a chat thread and JS has already firmly stated no more chat threads on this board, unfortunately.

Yeah, it would take a little bit of work for you to monitor, and believe me, I know the perils of a chat thread. But let's be honest, 99% of "our problems" originate in the discussions sub-forum. Too many threads, too many people causing too many problems. Not enough love to go around. It's just a damn Land of Confusion! HYPE THREAD-- only to hype shows, matches, segments, rosters, ideas, not a random silly chat thread. Give out warnings to the trolls and people who try to use it as a chat thread. It is ONLY for hyping your show. (or responding to someone else's 'hype!') That said, we DO encourage discussion on the SHOWS, MATCHES, SEGMENTS, ROSTERS and IDEAS, that was always permitted, and still will be in the HYPE thread. It's the random off-topic silly crap that we were told to stop (along with all the sniping and fighting). Some people will need to grow up or move along. Yes, some people will try to abuse the system, but they already are. We'd just be dealing with them in a different thread. Just an idea... Wars

hey guys, I've wanted to create a pic-fed for a few months now but never got around to it because I dislike the idea of having to create my own forum/website. I'm not exactly sure why that's putting me off but I guess I'm afraid I won't be able to manage the forum/site. However I'd really like to join this board. Singles Matches and highlighted matches sound great to me and I'd much rather like to do them than a whole federation with episodes and so on.

You aren't alone in liking the single match idea, I say go for it! There are several helpful people here to PM or just flat out ask for help in our threads. With what you are describing, I suggest using a picture hosting service like imageshack.us, where you can upload several pics at a time (it's free). From there, simply create your own Proboards site (it's free!) and post the pictures and write up the commentary underneath. Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy! Wars

Any new fedders that are willing to actually produce a pic fed match or fed are welcome in my opinion. We most assuredly need new blood and if you need any help I am willing to help with whatever I can.

thanks guys I animated for about 2 years before I became more interested in pic-fedding so I hope my poses don't suck too much. Is the forum you have to create hard to manage? And will there be any adverts?

Proboards is free to use, its kinda what this site is where you can post your shows. Nothing fancy there is also Freewebs which I liked a lot better, you can add music and videos, not sure of you can add music on proboards or videos.
I only used probords once but give em both a try a lot of fedders used their own websites, Wars, Izzy to name a few. I am in no way computer savvy enough to guide you around building your own website but Freewebs and Proboards are excellent jumping off places to host your first fed.

I'll talk to my dad about creating my own forum and if he agrees I'll create it. Already got some storylines that I'd like to do.

This thread is a very interesting read. It's sad that feds are becoming harder to run, and it's not impossible to do, as loads have shown in the past and some are still doing nowadays.
With the singles matches ideas, I think we'd have to be very careful on how that is run. Izzy's idea about doing a trilogy of matches was perfect. If you just allowed one off matches to be filmed and posted, it could lead to the board just getting packed with "here's a match I did", "oh look, I just filmed another one", "hey, look I've got another one".
Letting shows be highlight shows could be a good idea. Similar to how WWE do their highlights shows, where you have a host who introduces the context of the match, and then film the second half of the match, or last few minutes of it, to save going through the opening phases, which can be quite tedious if you're running a consistent fed.
