Wow the Mir vs Cormier figh was boring That fight was more than boring, it flat out sucked. It was the worst fight of the night. Again, Cormier fails to impress me. I think his outing tonight was worse than his last one. Mir was slow as quicksand and Cormier wasn't much better. Both guys put on a crappy performance. There's no way in hell Cormier deserves a title shot against Bones after that sh*tty performance. He's gotta do much better than that and beat a few more guys to be deserving of a title shot. I think Cormier is really overrated. Sure, he's beat some great fighters, but overall, he's not very exciting and is hit and miss with some recent outings. I'm not a fan and I'm not sure I ever will be if he continues to put on garbage performances like he did tonight. Also, just like Sonnen and Stann said, I agree that Melendez won the first 3 rounds. He got ripped off by bad judging tonight.

It wasn't pleasing to the eye, but he stifled a top 10 heavyweight tonight.

Just got through the main card. I watched the prelims & by the end of them I couldn't see straight, so it was off to bed for me.
I scored the title fight 48-47 Bendo. I gave him the last 3 rounds. I don't know if Melendez just gassed out or what, but the fight was there for the taking. Very happy to see Bendo retain.
I don't think there are too many people happier than me to see Diaz get destroyed. Thompson had an excellent game plan.
I expected a lot more from Mir. As much as I love the guy, it's becoming a lot easier to say he's no where near what he once was.

Just saw the replay and... I don't know man. I think you can argue it was a draw or make an argument for either guy. I personally scored it for Melendez. I think the first 2 rounds were Gil's, next 2 were Henderson's and the 5th I think Melendez edged it. The first couple rounds were VERY close.
I don't think anyone can argue this, but that fight PROVES that Melendez is an ELITE fighter.
DC vs Mir wasn't bad really. Even though I thought DC won all 3 rounds, I thought Mir looked a lot better than he has in the past.
Thomson fought a perfect fight, I thought. Crazy to see Nate get stopped, but PROPS to Thomson.
and how about MATT BROWN? Damn man, that fight was awesome. I thought Mein would have taken it but Brown continues to impress.

That's how I scored it too on first glance, rounds 1,2 and 5 for Melendez, and then 3 and 4 for Henderson.
Anyone notice Punk/Lita in the audience? I saw on Ariel Helwani's twitter that Punk was at the fights (as he was last week as well), so I looked back and they were sitting right next to Ronda Rousey and her friend.

I had 1, 2, and 3 for Melendez, personally. Thought the knockdown at the end of the 3rd wasn't really enough to give Henderson the round, but that's just me.
One of those fights where I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. Not a situation where one is required, but one where it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Melendez's takedown defense and ability to get back up was quite the sight to see, as well. Couldn't agree more with the "elite" fighter comment above.

Agreed, I had 1, 2 and 5 for Gilbert. Honestly, I've never been a fan of Melendez. His fights are exciting way more often than not, I think it was his internet fans that soured me on him. I'd always see posts of someone bullying someone else, saying something rude, and it would close out with "Gilbert Melendez is the in man." I've always known Gilbert was awesome, but I can't get behind him. Maybe I will eventually. Only thing I'm not right on point with as far as what you said goes is about Frank. I thought he looked excellent against Nelson. Against DC he looked tired after 3 minutes. Fresh for the start of R2, tired 2 minutes in, and seemingly fresh for all of R5. Getting stuck in a clinch is one thing against a guy like Cormier, but starting your own clinch when you know you're going to get pressed against the cage is ridiculously frustrating to watch as a fan. I like Mir and I love watching DC fight. I honestly figured Daniel would pick up a TKO in the first or second.

Mir looked okay against Nelson because Nelson himself already has terrible cardio. I think Frank paced himself well in the DC fight and looked much better than what I remember. Maybe he paced himself a little TOO much.
