I always get excited for Wrestlemania, but this years its different. The reason is I have a feeling that I won't see anything at Wrestlemanina that I didn't see coming.
I'll start with the likely main event of The Rock defending the WWE championship against John Cena in a rematch of last year's main event. If this match happens, it's basically a guarentee Cena will win. What's the point of ordering a show when the main event result is so obvious a blind person could see it coming? The only way to make this exciting would be to add Punk into the match, which is still possible, but unlikely.
Next, I'll go with the rumored HHH vs. Brock Lesnar rematch. I don't think it would be a surprise if Triple H gets his win back here. The likely storyline will be his revenge and it would only make sense for him to win.
Another thing I feel predictable now, stop reading if you haven't watched Raw from last night yet, is the World Heavyweight Championship match. As soon as Jericho qualified for the Chamber, it became obvious, he wins, Ziggler cashes in on whoever wins the Show/Del Rio match and Jericho vs. Ziggler is set for Wrestlemania with the title on the line. The result is obvious because like The Rock, Jericho is leaving after Wrestlemania.
That's three main event matches, all with easily predictable outcomes? What is the selling point to make people want to watch this show? Other than it being Wrestlemania, what is the point of it? Wrestlemania 29 needs something to happen to save the show from being a complete flop, that is CM Punk, his involvement could save the show.
If he isn't put into the WWE Title match, then the only option is for him to face The Undertaker. People will say, "that's obvious too, Taker will win", however, I remember reading not too long ago that Taker wants to do this match, lose, and retire. CM Punk defeating The Undertaker at Wrestlemania and ending the streak would have everybody talking. It would also put Punk over like nobody has been put over before. I'm a fan of The Undertaker, always have been and always will be, but I feel it's time to retire. What better way to go out than to put over someone who could carry WWE for years to come.
The only problem is, I don't see that happening because that would make Punk a bigger star than Cena and overshadow his title win on the same night. That's against the law in WWE's lawbook. So, I feel that WWE is setting up the most predictable Wrestlemania in history this year.

We'll see. I don't think it is that predictable. Cena's big win seems likely, but we still don't even know who he's facing for sure yet. Saying you can see everything coming will only make you look like a tool if it pans out differently.

Agreed, it's shaping up to be a ridiculously predictable show. Not only that, but even most of the matches on the card just don't have any real appeal to me. We've already seen Cena vs. Rock, and as you said, why would I want to order a PPV when it's so blatantly obvious Cena will win and the WWE is going to have him hold the title or in the main event scene for the majority of 2013? Triple H vs. Lesnar, to me, should've just died. I didn't care enough to order the first match, so I sure as hell wouldn't care enough to order a second match just to see Triple H get his revenge and show that he's still got it. The rest of the matches fall in the category of "Who really cares?" for me. It's obvious that Punk isn't going to have a prominent role at Mania this year, which is a shame considering he had arguably the best match on the card with Jericho last year, and as each week goes by it's looking less and less likely that Undertaker will be appearing, either. And at this point, even if he does, there's so little time to develop a real feud with anybody that there wouldn't be anyone who really believes Taker stands a chance of losing the way he did the past few years.
Last year there were a lot of matches that were tossups...Triple H vs. Taker, Rock vs. Cena, Jericho vs. Punk, Bryan vs. Sheamus, etc.

i'm still excited for it...except the crap main event we're getting.
and hhh/lesnar wouldn't be my first choice at all.

Me and brother were discussing how unpredictable the card was earlier today....
I can see why it looks predictable to you, but the only nailed on match right now, IMO, is Rock vs Cena. Potentially, it could be Taker vs Punk and HHH vs Lesnar, but I could also see them putting those two matches together as a tag to help Taker with his nagging injuries.
The world title is the match which I think has a host of possibilities. You've got Jericho, Ziggler, Del Rio, Henry, Show, Orton, Sheamus all potential guys for that match. The rest of the card could be absolutely anything right now. They have so many guys who should be on the card.
Anyway, what is wrong with it if it turns out to be the most predictable? If the matches turn out to be entertaining, I won't be complaining.

To me after last nights Raw it became apparent that the World Title match will either be Del Rio vs Swagger (American vs Mexican ) . Or Ziggler vs Jericho.
WWE Championship
The Rock vs John Cena
Kane vs Daniel Bryan
The Undertaker vs CM Punk
Brock Lesnar vs Triple H
Those seem like very likely matches.

They can most definately set up the angle at Elimination Chamber. Here's how I see this going down: Punk and Rock are battling and eventually, the ref takes a bump. Punk hits the GTS and attempts a "People's Elbow." To really create confusion they cut the lights similar to the Shield, and when they comeback on, Taker has Punk goozled and chokeslams him. Ref comes to, Rock hits the Elbow, and we have two huge Mania matches set up. |

How do we know that Jericho is leaving after WM? He may stay until Summerslam.
Just an FYI, if Undertaker were ever to lose at Wrestlemania, whoever defeated him would likely never recover from the backlash from Undertaker fans. NO ONE is worth to end the streak.

Yeah, unfortunately you nailed it completely. Didn't even think of the HHH/Lesnar rematch either, but sounds likely now you've said it.
I can 100% say with certainty that if Rock/Cena headline mania again, my interest will be minimal. What I love about wrestling is those holy crap moments that you never see coming. If the card pans out as its looking, the whole card will be as predictable as Taker's match.

To be honest I'm not too bothered by the results of things now, I just want to be entertained. That's why last year mania sucked, Bryan and sheamus over in seconds when I thought they would be motn sorely soured my viewing experience.
It's like when Bryan faced cm punk last year, I knew punk would win as wwe wouldnt put the big title on Bryan at that point but I watched it because i thought and it was a damn fine match.
I will say rock/Cena 1 sucked and this years doesn't tickle my belly much either but it's wrestle mania, I will buy it and like most recent years will probably be disappointed in it. Most of them have grown on me though but for the past couple of years the ppv after bad been better.

I would much rather something be logical and predictable than illogical/random and surprising. All of the stories leading into Mania make sense. It makes sense that HHH wants revenge on Brock after summerslam and attacking Vince and it makes sense that Cena wants to avenge his biggest loss ever. I'm fine with it.

Ziggler vs Jericho is not predictable. If sort of is after last night, but we are in the thick of Mania season now. It's time for stuff to start shaping up. But before last night no one could predict Ziggler vs Jericho for the world title and it still might not happen.

And I still think we get Taker vs Brock. Have HHH come out and confront Lesnar for what he did to McMahon. Have him say he wants to tear Lesnar apart. But he's done tried and failed at Summer Slam, and there's only one man who ever beat him as bad as Lesnar did......Enter Taker.
