What is the difference between Disneyland/World? Never been to either, have no desire to go to either. Disneyland was the first one. It opened in 1955. Disneyworld opened in 1971 and is much much bigger. It was mainly created because Walt Disney didn't like all the businesses that surrounded Disneyland that visitors would see on there way to the park. He wanted a total family friendly type of area. Disney actually created two cities for the making of it. Lake Buena Vista and Bay Lake, Florida. I'd say if you want to do one make it Disneyworld.

Florida twice, no idea when the first was, must of been in the late 90's? Can't remember much at all.
The second time was about 2006 I'd say.
Faintly remember.

Disneyworld is better. You can tell from the quality of a lot of the rides. There were simply things they did wrong at Disneyland that they fixed at Disneyworld. For example, in the 20,000 leagues under the sea ride at Disneyland you can always see the water line out of the window. So they tell you're at the bottom of the ocean, but there's the surface of the water an inch above your window. They fixed that at Disneyworld.

Thing is, Disney parks are always updating the quality of their rides. You can't go wrong by visiting any Disney park. What I really love about them is that you cannot see the outside world once inside the park. You are literally walking into a "whole new world", pardon the obviously made bad pun. I've been to Disney World as well. It was a lovely experience and one I shall never forget. But, for me, there's always something about the original park that charms me back.

Never been. I've been to Disney World a plethora of times. I use to work at a Chevron Gas-station that was connected to a Wendys right by Vista-Way and the college kids use to hook me up. Not a huge fand of the place, its more for kids.
I'm a Universal guy. I have there premier annual pass. Seen Boys Like Girls there last night.

What is the difference between Disneyland/World? Never been to either, have no desire to go to either. Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. Disney World is Orlando

Walt Disney World offers something for everyone of any age. I am 27 years old and I have been going consistantly to WDW every 1.5-2 years or so. I also own Disney Vacation Club timeshares for two different WDW resorts. Walt Disney World is kind of my's family "thing." We've had three reunions there in 2001, 2003, and 2005 (also for my bday in 2005). I've been there 11 times, going on 12 at the end of 2013. It's my all time favorite vacation spot and probably always will be. I have never been to DisneyLand, though. There are a few things that I would like to see there but if you're looking for an overall longer and more involved vacation, Walt Disney World is the place you would want to go. If anyone is going to the first time or is planning on it eventually, www.allears.net and www.disboards.com are two great sites for first time visitors.

What I said isn't FALSE its MY OPINION. I Have lived in Orlando for the last 3yrs and Disney is geared more towards kids, compared to Universal. A perfect example would be comparing WWE Attitude Era and WWE PG Era. Attitude Era was geared more toward teens and adults, while PG Era is geared more toward kids with something to offer for adults. Bottom line is, if your the more thrill seeking type your going to have more fun at Universal.

Its cool man, I didn't mean to come off as a Disney hater, I just didn't enjoy it as much as Universal. You should defiantly check it out next time around, if you got the extra cash. I pay $280 for the yr for premier pass. I think for a day pass its around $80 which includes Universal and Islands, plus you have all of city-walk. (Yes, they rape tourist who don't know any better, but still cheaper than Disney) I think your best bet if you come to Orlando and plan on going to the parks. You can get a unlimited hopper package for around $250 for the parks which include Universal, Islands, Went N Wild, Sea-World, and Aquatic, which last for 14 days. When my friends come visit me that's what they usually get.

I went in 2008, really not worth the price to be honest. I did the 4 park hopper for 2 days. Had a better (and cheaper) time with the 2 park hopper for 5 days at Universal Studios

I loved Disney World. Universal and Sea World were okay but the extra money to the tickets is a pain. However Sea World has this thing called a Fun Card where you pay for one day and you can gain entry for the rest of the year! So if people have like a week or two or visit multiple times during the year that ticket is worth it!
Epcot is absolutely my favorite park, especially at night! Magic Kingdom, is next as there is a lot to do there. Animal Kingdom and Disney Hollywood would be tied for 3rd. Parks are great but I prefer the first two without a doubt.
