With the rumored announcement that New Orleans is hosting WM30 all but official, I remember a lot of people on here saying that Orleans wrestling crowds are weak. And after the ppv tonight in that same city, I have to agree. I thought they were dead. I don't know if they mute the crowd a little on the hd feed or what.

Awful crowd. They were silent all night. Not a good place to hold Mania in my mind.

If WWE holds WrestleMania in New Orleans it will be fine. More then half the crowd will be from around the world while local people will make up barely any of the audience.

'Mania attracts a global audience. It won't be just New Orleans citizens in attendance.

You can't judge crowd reaction by place, especially at WrestleMania. There will be an audience filled with people from all around the world, the reaction simply depends on who turns up. Sometimes it's a bad crowd, sometimes it great. You can't tell what it'll be just by where it is.

The "global argument" is b.s.
About 70% of that crowd is gonna be from N.O. and the rest of the state.

This is why I prefer Mania to be held in small arenas. Maximize the crowd reaction.
But I understand why they do stadiums now.

And even if that was the case, it's a completely different set of people, all reactions aren't the same in each city. Where's your statistical evidence to dispute him? I'd tend to agree with that estimate, 60-70% from Louisiana and the surrounding area/states seems pretty likely. Just because people travel from all over to Mania doesn't mean those people make up the majority of the audience. I personally knew over 20 non wrestling fans that went to Mania last year because it was local. Mania is a spectacle entertainment event and it's going to draw plenty of casual local people looking for something to do. I don't know how previous events can't be somewhat of a gauge on how an event will turn out. Surely the majority of the 19,000 or so people at the NO arena last night will be at Mania. So if they sucked last night as an audience it probably won't be much different. HOWEVER, and I'm not saying the crowd sucked just to be clear, but crowds don't always translate well on tv. So someone who was actually at the event last night is going to be your best judge of crowd reaction. For Mania, the crowd around ringside is almost always crazy. Those are the travel package people, so those are usually pretty hardcore fans. That's really all the wrestlers are going to hear in a stadium that size so I tend to think that's all that really matters. Because WWE has moved out of arenas and into stadiums, they've opened the door for more casual fans to attend the event. Which means in an environment where normally you get 15-20 thousand people who genuinely love pro wrestling, you're now more likely to get 30,000 or more people there just looking to have a fun night at a cool event.

I thought the crowd was decent, especially when you'd expect them to be.
Truthfully, the crowd argument is moot when it comes to Wrestlemania. Stadium crowds can be as loud as they want, it doesn't translate well on TV. Every Wrestlemania crowd in recent years has sounded relatively quiet.

Exactly, to truly understand how loud a stadium is you have to be there

Some are comparing last nights weak Elimination Chamber PPV to WRESTLEMANIA? I live down here and didnt spend the money to go to EC, but you can bet ill be there for WM. It will be loud and you can quote me on that. When the Saints play, its the loudest place to be NFL wise. If they give us a good card, there is no need to worry.

Stadium crowds can be as loud as they want, it doesn't translate well on TV. Every Wrestlemania crowd in recent years has sounded relatively quiet. In The True Story of WrestleMania, John Cena said how he doesn't like stadiums because the noise pretty much travels up and leaves. That might explain why it's always been so quiet. And I thought the crowd was hot last night. Like J12 said, they pretty much didn't react to things you'd expect them to not react to (like the Kaitlyn/Tamina match). During that Divas Championship match, I literally saw a guy in a St. Louis Rams jersey go to the bathroom, and there was virtually no life from them.

Lets hope it isn't the same crowd as last night. They were dead at times.

Idk, the crowds can get super loud and crazy at times. last years Mania had a good and loud crowd. Mania 27 and 26 had absolutely dead stadiums for the majority of the shows.
I just prefer the arenas but the spectacle is insane with stadiums even though sometimes they focus too much on that rather than the actual product

I'm not worried about the fans. It's going to sell out regardless. Speaking of that, I guess I'll have to start taking care of early plans soon.
