Wahlberg was attached to the project two writers ago. I don't personally think a rumor from like 2010 will stick if it ever does get made. I know Fillion is the popular fan choice, but he's getting too old. So if it's going to happen, and they're going to make 3 movies, they need to get on it. Otherwise, he'll be 50 by the time it's all said and done. I think Fillion is about 10 years older than what I picture Drake already. I like Fillion but I'd be shocked to see him end up as Drake. Imdb says Whalberg, Pesci and the director dropped out Wait, I remember when talks were Whalberg would be Drake (awful idea), but who was Pesci supposed to be play?

I really hope they do not do an Uncharted movie. Its one of my all time fav game series but It cant work. You can not replace Nolan North as Nathan Drake and It will just come off as a big Indiana Jones rip off which it more or less is but since its in the confines of a video game its exceptable. That is a big problem with many games like GTA etc.

yeah I really dont get why anyone would want Uncharted. The whole point of the franchise is that it's an homage to films like Indiana Jones and Romancing the Stone. It is all you could ever want from a Hollywood film with its witty, deep characters and awesome set pieces. Plus, the voice acting is absolutely top notch and irreplaceable. I actually like Mark Wahlberg in the comic roles he's done, but there's no way he could match the charisma and charm that Nolan North brings to the character.

Reason like this, is also why I would never want to see a Red Dead Redemption movie. The voice actors did such an amazing job bringing each character to life, and the story was so well played out. If they turned it into a movie, I would just see it turning out as just another western. The last time I had heard anything of a RDD movie, Brad Pitt was the talk of a possible John Martson. Just no. Just like no one could pull off Nathan Drake, I don't think there are any actors that could pull off Martson, and do him justice.

Heavy Rain, Uncharted & Kingdom hearts heavy rain would be interesting as it has quite a few endings so it would be cool if when its released on dvd it would have a few alternate endings

Just like no one could pull off Nathan Drake, I don't think there are any actors that could pull off Martson, and do him justice. Yeah, but here's the thing, you want a movie because you want more of the story, a retelling, or a new approach to the story. What's to lose? NO ONE, besides a 30 year old Kurt Russell I suppose, is going to be able to pull off Solid Snake like David Hayter, but I still want to see them try it. If it sucks, so what? I've lost two hours of my life but I still have the games. It's like Resident Evil, the games aren't any less entertaining because most of those movies suck. Best case scenario it's awesome, and then we've gained even more as fans of the franchise. The biggest problem with game adaptions is that fans expect direct remakes of the games. If that's what you want, play the games. Games like Heavy Rain seem to be the exception, as that's a game written as a movie. So you could almost redo it frame-for-frame. What I think would be cool is if the movies had continuity with the games. So a Metal Gear movie that took place in between Shadow Moses and Big Shell, or Uncharted picking up after Deception. That would make it easier for fans to digest imo.

Actually a HUGE problem with Resident Evil is the games were pretty damn entertaining but then the horrible movies came out and the game developers LIKED them. Because of that the games started to model the movies and became very dumbed down action games, just like the movies. Plus I don't want to hear people that never played the games going around saying Uncharted or RDR suck because of the movies. That will make Hollywood not want to invest money into the games that could pull off a movie a chance.
I feel that is already the case since the RE movies bomb in North America so no studio wants to invest in something like Halo or any other large scale movie based on a game. I'm sure its a reason halo got sh*tcanned but hopefully the web series changes that around.

Im not a huge fan of the RE movies BUT Resident Evil movies combined budget:247 Million Resident Evil movies combined Box Office:900 million and all the movies made substantial profit.they are far from bombs and Sony is rolling out the sixth one shortly. I think the main reason Studios passed on Halo was Microsoft demanding 10 Million against 15% of the gross.then there was up fron payment issues with Peter Jackson too.

I said they bombed in America, which they did. Only reason they keep getting made is the over seas tickets. Really they should just release them over seas and not bother here since they always do poorly in the states.

Most video games don't translate to movies, just look at Mario, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat etc.
The only good Movie I've seen come from a video game is Resident Evil: Degeneration.
