Why do you think that WWE takes these big guys, specifically Show and Kane, establish them as these big monsters, and then crap the bed with them by making them the biggest babies? I mean, this last storyline with Show and Rio, they acted like they wanted to make Show this big beast, but then they have him CRYING with paint all over him. CRYING!!!! thats ridiculous.
As for Kane, should have never taken the mask off in the first place. From that point on, it was nothing but down.
Your opinions?

I just don't see why people keep saying Kane got ruined because they took the mask off him. Kane-a-roonie... Katie Vick, the voicebox, joining DX, dating Tori. A lot of things ruined Kane before that.
But I do get your point. I guess people like Tensai should be included on this.

Can't speak on how I feel about Kane recently. At least he's winning. At least he is holding a title. He seems happy in what are pretty much his twilight years, right?
As for Big Show... I prefer him being more Human then being Andre The Giant in a giant nappy. I loved when he wrestled in late-late-2002 in the jeans.

Im glad Henry finally got a push as a monster figure. Could have been done a decade ago, but hey, at least it happened.

Just imagine what they would have done to Goldberg had he stayed around, hahah.

IMO these specific guys Kane & Show, have been in WWE so long that its hard to keep fans interested, so the constantly have to flip flop them back & forth from Heel to Face, to keep their charge toes semi fresh

Yeah he came in and immediately jobbed to Austin. Not the worst guy to lose to, but soon after he was just another guy on the roster.

And I applaud them for managing to make both interesting and relevant after all these years. I'm actually glad they're not treated as unstoppable giants that can't be beat. It's good to see them grounded with a bit of realism. Kane and Big Show were both pretty "blah" last summer but since the fall both of their characters evolved in a way that made them way more interesting than "Big Tall Scary Freak." Kane started an incredibly entertaining angle with Bryan that's still one of the better parts of each week and it wouldn't have worked if they didn't allow Kane to become a little bit more human. Big Show isn't really a giant freak of nature; he's pretty much exactly what he's billed as - the World's Largest Athlete. He shows up in suits and a personal bus, he's shown in a fancy hotel room with room service and his own personal assistant he harasses, but while he comes off as a prima donna outside of the ring he's still a massive threat inside of the ring. I see it as a parallel/exaggeration of some athletes in other sports that can have all the talent in the world but are pampered, whiny, and spoiled in their personal lives. For both having been around for 15+ years a piece, their characters have to evolve or they'll become incredibly stale. I don't think either have been "ruined"; they've definitely had their low points for sure but after all this time I'm still pretty interested in both because they were able to try something different with each of them.

I saw the title and thought this was about Vince's "love" for big guys...

As a Super-Heavyweight aficionado, I find this statement to have an immense level of merit. The monster gimmick only works for so long. No wrestler can maintain that sort performance level or keep that character interesting for very long. Kane has always been a deeply psychological character with a great deal of mental instability, so to seem him go through these phases where his persona has managed to achieve more than simply crushing people is a testament to his talent & the intellect of the man behind the mask. I've never heard Big Show better described. Since he has been enormous most of his life & never been challenged in the wrestlers like Michaels, or CM Punk have been, he becomes arrogant & somewhat lazy with his work ethic, thus creating a weakness & keeping storylines interesting. Do I love monster gimmicks? You bet! Do I think they need to be a constant? No.

Characters have to change eventually....you can't keep getting pushed as a monster heel or monster face for a long time without it getting boring. The only thing I think they seriously, seriously, ed up about the Kane character was not providing an adequate explanation for the lack of burns on his face when he unmasked in 03. That was such a huge, central part of his character for so long, it really was a super anticlimax when it happened the way it did.

Big Show has been ruined for a while now and I have lost hope for him. With Kane however, I hope they drop the Team Hell No dysfunctional angle as soon as they lose the straps. Kane was brought in as this huge monster who felt no pain and was literally unstoppable. Lately he has been nothing more than comic relief and it irritates me that they have used him this way. Even after he got rid of the mask he was a monster who dominated people but it eventually got to the point where he was dancing around like Santino. When he was feuding with Cena in the whole "Embrace the hate" thing and he came back under the mask, I once again felt that he would be just like the Kane of old. Well I was wrong again when I saw him walk into the anger management classes with Daniel Bryan. Yes I do agree that big guys of WWE don't belong dancing and in anger management classes or being drenched in orange paint and then crying about it. Good to get that off of my chest.

Big, monster characters instantly lose credibility upon their first loss. Because they're no longer unstoppable, which is most of the attraction. That's why guys like Kane, Big Show, etc have had to change. Would you rather Kane go completely undefeated for 15 years straight and decimate anyone he comes in contact with? No, it's not believable and it wouldn't be entertaining.
Kane knows that he would have to change to stay relevant, so he has. Same with Big Show and even Tensai. Tensai is a good example, actually. He was a great monster when he initially returned, but after that loss to Cena, he was no longer intimidating, no longer a threat. That's why he went downhill from there.
Change is necessary.
