Maybe the other guys like J.R Joey Styles, Heyman dont want to commentate on a full time basis because its a pretty big commitment. Who knows maybe Vince or other top brass have reached out to try and replace Lawler and Cole but no one wants the job. I dunno but it really is time for a change. Like i said Cole really hasnt improved since day one and a previous post by RybackV1 was spot on with what he said. King was gold during the attitude era but the PG stuff is killing him.

King can still likely do well in a Pg environment but he just needs to be heel. He was a great announcer as a heel years before the attitude era but they insist on keeping him face.

Cm Punk is more entertaining than both of them on commentary! Agree completely, love CM Punks commentary. Especially during his NXT commentary.

The sole reason Commentary sucks anymore is because of Michael Cole. Trust me Lawler would be better if it weren't for him needing to turn his whole character into PG. I was watching come good old stuff the other day and King kept reffering to Kane "The Big Red intellectually- disabled person" I mean he really was gold at one point. But this whole PG stuff has killed him, along with the fact that his partener is a complete goof who honestly hasn't improved since day one. In fact go watch some old Smackdowns from 00 01. He would actually call moves. I can truely say I prefer that Cole to todays. PG being used as a scapegoat for something again, what a surprise. And I'm sorry, but calling a character "The Big Red intellectually- disabled person" doesn't make you a good commentator, it makes you an offensive and childish fool. I absolutely agree that The King was great at one point in time, but his downfall has absolutely nothing to do with "going PG." A good commentator can adapt. King simply doesn't care about his job. He's said it on multiple occasions.

I mean if the man really didn't care about his job would he have come back just months after a major heartattack whle on that very job? He has been watered down since about 05 even before the PG era ill admit but you know as well as we all do if JR or JBL or Heyman came back instead of cole, and the ratings went back to TV 14, King would shine like he used to. I never enjoyed Cole besides certain times during his heel run, but otherwise he's better off as an interviewer or radio host or something. He just dosent call moves right and doesn't sell big moments like a big time play by play announcer should. Lawler is color commentary. And fto be fair I still enjoy him sometimes as he can nail a good joke every now and then still, especially after returning from his heart attack.

These two are just absolute garbage at commentating. Lawler has gotten so lazy over the years with his commentating its embarrassing. Cole hasn't improved since day one. Im sick to death with both of them they are just so boring. Bradshaw and Matthews are much better and bounce of each other great, Matthews is the perfect whipping boy for Bradshaw. ! NO. Cole and Jerry might be a little redundant, but at least they are intelligible. "Hee Haw" Layfield could use some speech classes.
