not sure how reliable any of the sources are, but thought it would be cool to discuss if it is true :-) in my honest opinion, if taker gets his way (based on what I've read here, being that he's wanted a few people to end it), I think he might pass the torch to punk. . .

It was pretty much confirmed when Taker returned at the House Show.

I wouldnt mind if Punk ended the streak. Undertakers career is pretty much done and Punks the only one on the roster that could use that "push" defeating Undertaker. He got his 20-0 moment, now its time to pass the torch. Cena is the only other believable opponent for Taker and he doesnt need it.

I can't seriously believe people actually want the streak to end now. Surely it's just the Punk factor.

There is really no one else for Punk to face at Mania, so yep, I say it's a go.
Oh, and I still want Taker to win.

Punk said he's retiring in 2 years. Why the hell would we want him defeating Taker for his streak?
*cough* Kassious Ohno *cough*

The Streak won't end if this match is made. Not only does CM Punk not need the rub, but he probably is too much of a wrestling fan to even want to end it anyway.

I'd appreciate the awesome match, even if I was certain Taker would win. Two of my all time favourites!

I love how everyone is so quick to dismiss things. There are a lot of crap reports. A LOT. And I am fully aware of this. I am also fully aware of - even with how predictable they are - you never can be sure what they're thinking or doing.
I see it like this. A.) The Streak is no more because he simply retires, or B). The Streak is no more because he has decided it's time to lay it down and he's finally lost. Either way, they've got to be able to book the biggest annual show without their "guaranteed draw" in The Undertaker because eventually he's not gonna be coming back at this point each year for this match. And personally, if I were him, and knew I would be playing second fiddle to The Rock and John Cena again, I'd spite them and say "F*ck you, The Streak ends at 29."
He's the most loyal employee that Vince McMahon has ever had. The only one from the first episode of Monday Night RAW who is still active. Further yet, he's the only one who never left for any reason - contract dispute, character disagreement, injury [ala HBK], and he's rhe only one who never jumped ship to WCW or ECW - or nowadays TNA - and returned. He's been there since the day he signed. And he's never been fired and brought back. Loyalty, I'm sure it goes a long way with a guy like Vince.

Ugh...guys...
The streak isn't going to end and if it does it's not going to be Punk who ends it.

Trust me, John Cena's not going to sit there while Punk ends the streak. That won't happen, unfortunately, as Punk would be the guy I'd choose to end it, IF and only IF Taker himself wanted to end it. Otherwise I don't think it should be broken.

I don't think it wa ever confirmed, I think a lot of ppl assume it will happen and somehow led to ppl believing it will. I wouldn't mind it at all I think it would be a really good match probably more than it looks on paper and with that being said I don't believe the streak should ever end. What I'd like to see happen is next wm be takers last against John cena(he's the face of the company like it or not) for the title. I'd really like to see taker get into better shape for his last match too

I don't think the streak should end, he needs to retire with the streak. If the dirt sheets are right for once, and Taker wants Punk to end it, I wouldn't hate that Punk ended it, but at the same time i'd be disappointed the streak ended.

It needs to end and punk is right to do it. Would propel punk further and possibly set up one more wm with punk vs taker for the title next year
