I love that so many people are against this ridiculous overreach of government, but it really concerns me how few people see the comparisons between this and drugs. Think of the children...

Such a waste of time, energy and resources. Maybe Bloomy and others should put this much effort into stopping extortion, government waste and stealing money from taxpayers. Oh that's right, that would only HELP our economy.
It's pretty much well known that soda is one of the worst things you can consume....who the hell needs 64oz of soda anyway? instead of BANNING something, why not offer a cheap alternative, water is "free" but if they put flavored seltzer or water into those 7-eleven machines the price of a big gulp would be $8. how about stopping the overpricing of goods.
this country pisses me off.

As the general feeling is, I say let people eat and drink what they want. If they're worried about kids getting fat, then it's down to the parents to control their intake.
I drink the occasional can of Diet Coke with my dinner once or twice a week.

Though it is absolutely ridiculous to drink 64 oz. of soda, it is even more ridiculous to "ban" people from purchasing something.
There are more effective alternatives for people to lose weight/become healthy/etc.

went to arbys the other day to get a reuban sandwich and the fry and drink was only a few cents more then the sandwich so i was like what the hell ill pick on the fries and i dont care about the soda, im a water guy, so i tell the woman small and she proceeds to hand me this gasoline tanker full of soda that WOULD NOT fit in the cup holder
i was like i wanted small she said it was a small, i couldnt believe it i took one sip after my sandwich and dumped the rest out the windows just for the simple fact i didnt wanna spill it in my rental car

Yeah but even if they did ban them couldnt you just get like 5 drinks? If you are gonna ban something ban it completely or dont ban it at all. Like the supersize meals, now people will just order two things of fries.
