never said that. every team has injuries. it would help every team, for the reasons I stated. and going with Hulk's point, they could make it a rule that a team couldn't just fill a spot with a "specialist" it would have to be position players and pitchers. it's really not that crazy of an idea, im suggesting each team add 3 active roster guys. wow, watch out CHANGING THE GAME here!!!!! Yeah. Here's my position player. He's a left handed pitcher. So what if I only use him against left handed batters in late game situations. How do you make a rule that differentiates that guy from a left handed pitcher I used to close games? Both guys pitch to just a handful of batters in late innings of close ball games. Or I use it for a guy who's an outfielder but never starts. He just happens to bat against tough right handers in close games. How do you make a rule that dictates how much I play a particular guy or what situations I play him in?

That game was a tough one to lose. After tying it up in the 9th I really felt like the Yanks would be able to pull that one off....but once Phelps went in the game, it was only a matter of time, unfortunately.

Ralpho, is Matt Harvey an ace or a #2 at best? Who do you think he compares to?

Harvey has obviously shown ace stuff, but you'd need to see him start a full season's worth of games first before anointing him the best thing around. Strasburg is the comp I would use. in other news

I am just loving the way the Yankees are right now. There's no real "superstar outside of Cano, and the brightest spots are the fact that Cervelli & Nunez are getting better every day. I think Granderson coming back will be a big help, if only in the way of they need a more reliable bat in the middle of the lineup, someone to protect Cano and maybe get on base.
My only complaints would be that I'd like to see more baserunning. Gardner needs to be more aggressive. Ichiro is starting to round out, and he'll get better. But if Girardi stacks Gardy, Ich & Grandy at the top they could casue havoc.
And it's still incredible this team is not faltering in any way that was predicted. They are hitting home runs, scoring a fair amount and getting great starting pitching. Even Hughes is getting better. Not really much to complain about. They aren't gonna win every game, but when they do it's not just HR or bust anymore, and I just like what I see out of the guys who were supposed to be washed up.

The Phillies suck so hard. Ugh. The Royals are in first place I don't think anyone here buys the Royals as legit though. They are getting very little coverage. The media reports the score of the game and a brief rundown and that's about it. They're hard to follow for me as I watch on MLB.TV and the games are all blacked out locally so no one is buying them as legit. The Chiefs picking number 1 has been making headlines. The Royals being first place is on page 3 or 4.

I really wish the Yankees injuries could just cool it for a bit. It's actually amazing that the team is managing to win games with sooooo many people being out at one time.
A-Rod: Out until sometime in July at least. Jeter: No time table for return. "when I can play, I'll play". Teixeira: Won't be back on May 1 like he hoped. No idea when he will be back. Granderson: Probably 2 or 3 weeks away from being MLB ready. Cervelli: Broken hand, out at least 6 weeks. Nova: Elbow pain, status unknown until tests are done. Youkilis: Probably going on the DL, back issues have not gotten better.
Any more injures and this team just isn't going to be physically able to continue to tread water. They are fighting right now, but there is only so much you can endure.
It's disappointing because the way the team has been playing without it's stars showed a lot of hope and optimism of maybe they could be really awesome if/when they did start getting some people back.....but those people keep having setbacks and now new people are going down with injuries on a daily basis.
Jeter and Nova are irrelevant because Nunez is better at shortstop than Jeter at this point and Phelps is better than Nova. But we really could use Teixeira and Granderson back ASAP, if for nothing else than to lengthen the lineup and provide more of a cast of talent to surround and protect Robinson Cano.
It's a shame about Cervelli...her was really stepping up and playing well. He was getting key hits, throwing out runners trying to steal, calling great games for our pitchers, and he even had a few homers....very disappointing that he finally got the opportunity to be the starting catcher and was stepping up and now he's out for a while.

Free David Adams, Austin Romine, and Vidal Nuno!!!!
This is a fun Yankees team to watch despite all the injuries but I can't wait for Teix/Grandy/Jeter and...yes...even A-Rod to come back.

Yankees place RP Joba Chamberlain on the DL with an oblique strain, retroactive to 4/28.
Ugh. Another one bites the dust. At least he's eligible to come back in just over a week.
