I don't think it proved anything really. The WWE knows that most of their audience are over 18 (wasn't it reported to be like 80% a month or two ago?) but they market the product to younger viewers because that's where the money s and that's what makes the shareholders happy I'm sure.
Last night was just a good representation of that audience. Usually, I feel that a lot of the show is occupied by families who want a fun night out for their kids. Last night had a much older audience because it was Wrestlemania weekend and there were many international fans who had travelled there for the whole weekend experience.

A lot of International people were there too and they don't get to see WWE live that often and people were hype from Mania. So all that added together made the crowd that way. RARE. I do see where you are coming from though. I look at it like this; last night WWE had a nice sampling of their "universe" and by the response that we gave them, it's clear we're not happy. I hope it's a wake up call, but I doubt it will be. The majority of people there last night are the hardcore wrestling fans. Wherever they go to next week will have a crowd filled with casual fans that will pop for exactly what WWE wants them too. I thought most of the critiques were there. WWE is all about the money though sadly so I think they can give a damn about what we think.

I was there and it was an amazing night. Ziggler winning the title was great, the Miz and Barrett match was solid, and I personally enjoyed the Taker/ Shield thing. Other than that it would have been pretty lousy, but the crowd was just incredible. Everybody was having so much fun singing and chanting, I've never seen anything like it in the near 100 wwe shows I've been to in the last twenty years. The Fandango music was still being sung by everyone outside the venue, on the bus to the train station, in the train station in jersey, on the train back to NYC, in penn station, and was still going on the streets of New York. Such a fun night.
That said, I'm not sure if it really changed anything. It was the night after mania, and the majority of the crowd was made up of die hard fans from around the world. You're not gonna get that every week.

Not happy? It sounded like they were into the show, humming Fandango's song and doing stuff like that. If they weren't happy I'd assume they would be sitting on their hands. ...Uhhh...if the crowd was happy and into the majority of the show do you think there would be a "cotton candy" chant during Orton/Sheamus. Were there parts people enjoyed (ie. Fandango?) yes. But for the most part last night was a result of people being over the current characters and the way they are presented.

Just have Raw in the UK every Monday. Crowd = sorted.
We should at least get a PPV soon.

To be honest I just watched when Lesnar returrned last year and SMH and all of you saying Zigglers pop was the biggest ever. Biggest of 2013? Maybe. Best crowd of 2013? Definately. But best of all time? No no no no no.

Honestly, I found last night's crowd pretty annoying for the most part. I was glad they popped for Ziggler's moment and the Undertaker's part, but that was about it. Well I knew I'd eventually come across "that guy"... I'm that guy? Cool. I'm not.saying they weren't entertaining at times. But regardless if it bored anyone or not, there was more than one match that the crowd distracted from.

I think it's simply because UK fans are just more rowdy. I think sometimes boring crowds detract from American sports. College basketball is nice for crowds, but even it seems a little forced and organised.

Bigger question....does the WWE realize that their MASSIVE adult fanbase just wants wrestlers to be characters they can "connect" with guys like Ziggler, Jericho, etc. are as popular as they are because in addition to being great & innovative in the ring (not having the exact same match every week) they are just cool. they know how to sell it, they have charisma and don't try to force themselves on us. nothing is more of a turn off than when someone TRIES sooooo desperately to be "the guy" all it ends up doing is making people hate you more. Sheamus is a perfect example. Guy works his ass off every night, has some GREAT matches, has a great heel persona....they turn him face and he immediately reverts to "hey WWEuniverse! I'm here! like me! i kick arse fella!". And they wonder why he's getting booed and boring. Sheamus could EASILY be a guy that fans would pay money to see if he actually did something interesting on TV instead of just popping out to remind everyone he's the good guy and they should like him pretty much 100% this

Same smug smarmy jokey insincere promos. I used to like him but now I can't stand him - though some of that may be from the story about him bullying Yoshi Tatsu and then having Yoshi kick his ass!

That was insane. WM would have been better if the crowd was that great. Why was the crowd so bad at WM? Was it because of the stadium?
Feels great watching everyone have a ball. Top stuff.

With 4 other people, 2 of which felt the same way. All of us adults in our mid to late 20s, that have been watching wrestling since the early 90s. I don't need lectures from others on my own opinions, or what qualifications I should need to have any opinions.
