WCWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Claudio Castagnoli ©
versus
Eddie Kingston
Eddie Kingston lost the World Heavyweight championship in a three way match, and was never pinned to lose his championship. He never received a rematch, either. To earn his rematch, he had to win a thirty man Gauntlet for the Gold match. But since Kingston has won the championship, the man who dethroned him has already lost the championship. Kingston's friend Jack Evans is no longer the champion, and instead, the Undefeated Snobby Swiss Aristocrat Claudio Castagnoli holds the championship.
Every match that Castagnoli has had in a WCWA ring his hand has been raised in victory. He's done battle with the lowest of the low to the highest of the high and every time out, his theme music has played and his hand has been raised in victory. No one has been able to pin Castagnoli's shoulders to the canvas or make him submit in all of his matches thus far.
Eddie Kingston is not every man though. Eddie Kingston is tough as nails. He's a man who challenged for the World Death Match title and competed in a barbaric and bloody match with Brain Damage, just to prove he could do it if he wanted to. Then came back later in the night to win the aforementioned thirty man Gauntlet for the Gold. Kingston is no stranger to the "big fight" atmosphere in WCWA either.
The blood runs cold between Kingston and Castagnoli's represented Kings of Wrestling. Anyone who's watched a minute of WCWA TV knows this, and knows the history between Kingston and Chris Hero, which has spilled to bad blood between Kingston and Castagnoli. This bad blood has stretched to Kingston attempting to take out as many of Chris Hero's students as possible. Orange Cassidy, Lucky, referee Bryce Remsburg.. They've all fallen to Kingston's wrath. At Delusions of Grandeur, he faces off with Chris Hero's prized student. Will Eddie Kingston be the one to FINALLY pin Castagnoli, and in the process, capture his second WCWA World Heavyweight title?
WCWA International Championship vs. WCWA World Television Championship
Title Unification Match
Tommy End ©
versus
Beef Wellington ©
Former friends collide as one championship's legacy comes to an end. Specifically, Wellington's Television championship will be retired following this match. During Wellington's last reign as champion, the physical World Television championship belt was destroyed in a fit of rage by Jimmy Jacobs and despite the championship being held by Joey Ryan and Danny Havoc before making it back to Beef, the physical title belt has not been replaced. WCWA management chose instead of investing in the production of a new championship belt, to simply retire the title.
Beef Wellington gets to cash in his championship at a shot at End's International championship at Delusions of Grandeur. The two are former friends and former travel buddies, but when Beef Wellington's attitude and general outlook on life took a turn for the worst, the happy go lucky, jolly Beef Wellington replaced by a somber, bitter, angry Beef.. The friendship was discontinued. In defending his championship, Tommy End will be looking to get a bit of revenge for the people Beef has harmed in his temper tantrums, Beef's former trainer Kylie Pierce, and his former tag team partner, the legendary "Ugandan Giant" Kamala. Only one of these two champions will walk out of WCWA with an added piece of hardware in their luggage. Who will it be?
Grudge Match
Lance Storm
versus
The Messiah
In professional wrestling, there is a certain amount of spectacle to the show. There's a certain amount of show to it. This is entertainment and sport combined. But when one wrestler decides he's done entertaining, and done adhering to good sportsmanship, that's when things go wrong. On an episode of Synthetic several months ago, Lance Storm did just that. As The Messiah attempted a Tope Suicidia onto Storm, rather than deflecting the blow or attempting to counter it, Storm simply stepped out of the way and let The Messiah crash to the exposed concrete. The result was a cracked femer that put The Messiah out of action for several months.
In the aftermath of what many believed was an honest freak accident, Lance Storm and his manager Joey Eastman laughed and mocked the incident, bragging that it was intentional and that they were proud of hurting The Messiah. They went on to brag about injuries Messiah sustained in a match with Brain Damage around a month prior to that, as well as the real life attack that Messiah sustained in 2002, when two men broke into his home and severed his thumb from his hand. The Messiah returned to WCWA at Sweet Dreams and immediately made his intentions clear: He wants Lance Storm's head.
At Delusions of Grandeur, these two bitter rivals do battle for the first time one on one since the match that resulted in The Messiah's injury. Will The Messiah be able to get his revenge, or will Lance Storm be able to finish what he started several months ago?
WCWA World Tag Team Championships Match
No Disqualifications Match
The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Chuck Taylor) ©
vs.
The Necro Butcher & Jack Evans (3)
In WCWA, to challenge for the World Tag Team Championships, a team must accumulate three wins in a row. They can happen in any two on two match. Since the rule has been instituted, several teams have earned two points, and a few three. However, Necro Butcher and Jack Evans are the first team to earn points by defeating the champions in a non-title match.
It was a main event match on television, and by disqualification, Necro and Evans defeated Hero and Taylor. One could argue that the disqualification only came because Hero and Taylor thought they were about to lose fairly. It gave the Butcher/Evans duo instant bragging rights on their road to three points. Defeating the North Star Express and the Age of the Fall in the weeks that followed gained Necro Butcher and Jack Evans points two and three.
Chuck Taylor and Chris Hero may have gotten themselves in over their heads here though. Because of the first match ending in disqualification, the WCWA Championship Board of Directors wants to ensure that this match will not, making this match a no disqualifications match. In doing so, it gives a HUGE advantage to Necro Butcher, who's the baddest brawler in WCWA. Are the Kings days on top of the tag team division numbered?
WCWA World Death Match Championship Match
Brain Damage ©
versus
"Sick" Nick Mondo
"Sick" Nick Mondo was the pioneer of extreme in WCWA. Similar to what Allison Danger did for women's wrestling in WCWA, prior to Nick Mondo, there were not death matches in WCWA. Nick Mondo won the very first King of the Death Match tournament and was the first Death Match champion.
The night before the second King of the Death Match tournament, in Wargames, Nick Mondo suffered an injury which ultimately forced him to pull out of the tournament, vacate the championship, and leave WCWA for several years. It was in the second King of the Death Match tournament that Brain Damage made his WCWA debut, in a losing effort to Necro Butcher in what will be remembered forever as one of the most violent matches in WCWA history. Since then, Brain Damage has been an absolute smashing machine, running through three opponents in one night in the third King of the Death Match tournament to claim the then vacated Death Match title. Brain Damage is also the man who turned the championship into a World title by defending it in Japan.
Two worlds collide at Delusions of Grandeur, the past champion who never lost his title versus the current champion. The undisputed World Death Match Champion will be crowned in what is sure to be a bloody affair.
WCWA American Joshi Championship Match
Sara Del Ray ©
versus
Allison Danger
Sara Del Ray showed up on the scene in the American Joshi division and ran roughshot. Every girl thrown in front of her, she destroyed, in a style mirroring her Kings of Wrestling male counterpart Claudio Castagnoli. When the time came for Del Ray to challenge the top of the division, Allison Danger, for the championship belt, she was victorious here as well.
But that's not to say that Allison Danger should be disregarded. If it wasn't for Allison Danger, there probably would not be women's wrestling in WCWA. Allison Danger entered WCWA in a time when there were no other girls and stepped up to the plate to face any male competitor who'd sign a contract. She entered herself in the Menage Et Trois Junior Heavyweight tournament, she's faced Chris Hero.. And she even entered the second King of the Death Match tournament. Danger was also the girl who came out on top in the match to crown the first American Joshi champion.
Allison Danger cashes in her rematch clause at Delusions of Grandeur, facing the woman who took her championship belt. Having been in the ring and experienced Sara Del Ray first hand, Danger can clearly formulate a more complete game plan. Will this better game plan be enough for Danger to recapture the American Joshi championship, or will Del ray reign supreme and continue her dominance as the undefeated WCWA American Joshi champion?
WCWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship Match
Emil Sitoci ©
versus
Mystery Opponent
Emil Sitoci showed up on the scene during WCWA's tour of Germany, quickly making it known he was a friend of Chris Hero's. When the opportunity presented itself, Sitoci quickly aligned with the Kings of Wrestling super group. But no one can argue that Sitoci doesn't belong with them. A two time WCWA World Junior Heavyweight champion, Sitoci has fended off all challengers to retain his title in all outtings.
But at Delusions of Grandeur, he faces an opponent unlike any other that he's previously faced. Every prior opponent, he's known in advance. For Delusions of Grandeur, he signed an open contract weeks in advance, thinking WCWA management would have a contendership match to get a number one contender and announce a challenger. Instead, the challenger will be announced at Delusions of Grandeur, and Sitoci will find out who he's facing when everyone else does.
Sitoci's opponent can clearly prepare for him, while Sitoci has no idea. Is it someone from within WCWA? Is it someone from outside of WCWA? Who's it going to be? Find out on Delusions of Grandeur, and find out if Sitoci has what it takes to turn away this mystery man!
BONUS MATCH
Five Team Tag Team Gauntlet Match
WCWA management announced at the zero hour that at Delusions of Grandeur, there would be a five team gauntlet match. It will be a series of tag team matches, with the winning team advancing to the next fall, the losing team hitting the showers, until all five teams have participated. Making this match a high risk, high reward encounter is the fact that points for title contention are on the line. Realistically, one team could walk away from this match with four points.. And several teams in this match could end the night with three points. Will the next contenders for the World Tag Team Championships emerge from this match?
