I would say there was absolutely no thought put into the line-up other than 4 of the best-selling figures. It is a bit ironic, but I'm pretty sure nobody in the military would be too overly offended by a toy. You say that but WWE had hundreds of letters and e-mails when people found out he was supposed to be in the last marine movie. They bumped him for the miz in the end. This question does hold some logic because of this. I would say him actually PORTRAYING a Marine after being dishonorably discharged is quite a bit different from a toy of him being included in a "Tribute to the Troops."

I agree with you but we both know how people are now a days, any reason to be offended at something and they'll take it and try to get what ever they can out of the situation.

Way too much thought here. He's popular and was an easy choice for the set. No more thought than that was put into it

Why did they do it? Easy, they're running a business and they're not in politics. Although most collectors pass on Randy Orton figures, they all eventually sell and bring WWE, its share holders, and Mattel a lot of money.

Kind of ironic if you ask me.

This isn't a dumb thread, JC makes a valid point. Going AWOL and having a dishonorable discharge is disgraceful. It hampers you from getting most government jobs. So I understand the question. I know when randy was supposed to be in the marine 3 a lot of people complained because he is a disgrace and it was changed to the miz. It's obvious CHUD has never worn a real uniform before. A "real" uniform? You know you can be a respectable man without wearing a "real" uniform right? Never lying, stealing, or cheating. Being a great husband, father, and friend makes a great man. Being honest and working hard to provide for your family makes you a great American.

The reason he was pulled from the Marine 3 was because the Marines felt it was disrespectful to have a man represent the Marines when he dishonored them in real life. That said I'm sure they still appreciate the fact that he does support/do the tour for the troops.

Mr Perect where did I say you had to wear a real uniform to be a respectable human being? I said once a person earns the right to wear a real uniform they become very protective of its image. Please read my comments thoroughly in the future.

Doesn't Mattel have a rule that there must be at least one Orton toy in a line at a time?

Please read my comments thoroughly in the future. Actually how about you read my comments more thoroughly in the future?! You stated that Chud must have never wore a "real" uniform. Maybe he's a cop, a mailman, a manager at Best Buy, a paramedic, a clerk at Taco Bell? Are those not "real" uniforms because he doesn't carry a gun or fight for freedom? Have some respect for your fellow man. Where is your "real" uniform?

Well each and everyone of you missed the point of the Tribute To The Troops. It is a show that honors our troops for serving our country. Randy Orton was at the event to support his country and also risked his life to perform for those men and women. They did not boo him or call him names. He was well liked at the event, and in the end He did the right thing by apologizing for his past and making up for it by performing at the event. Mattel saw this and decided he was a suitable superstar to be in the set because of it.

You do know I'm referring to the actual time he went over seas to perform for the Troops?

I really think you're over-thinking this. No kid who buys a Randy Orton action figure in the stores knows anything about his past in the military, nor is it really relevant to a set of action figures. Having him star in a movie about being an actual marine is one thing, but dressing his figure up in camouflage gear just isn't a big deal to me at all. If it was then the WWE never would have approved it for release just like when they scrapped him from starring in "The Marine" because of all the backlash they got.

Maybe Marine 3 would've been better with Orton in it? Hey, there's always Marine 4!!!
