Agreed about Hitman vs Bulldog @ IYH:Seasons Beatings
it was 10 times the match that the "classic" @ Summerslam 1992 was.why you ask?
Bret didn't have to drag Smiths coked up bunghole to a match.plus Smith was unsure of his spot in 1995 and was working hard to try prove himself.
the result?a super heated and dramtic affair.the introduction of blood only heightened this drama.
imagine this today?you would have the dudes out there trying to stop Bret bleeding while Cole screams "theres no point in these people booing King-this HAS TO BE DONE".so not only do you ruin a matches momentum you get to insult the fans in the same swing.......1st round KO for Wrestling ignorance vs what the fans want.

a lot of people overlook the WWF Championship Match between Bret Hart and The British Bulldog from IYH December 1995. it's a nice, brutal little match that gets completely overshadowed by the SummerSlam 1992 encounter. WWF Champion Shawn Michaels vs Sycho Sid at Survivor series 1996. yeah,I'll admit it wasn't the prettiest match ever, but I was entertained by it,and seeing HBK lose it a bit when the fans turn on him is a hoot. After watching the Best of In Your House Blu-ray, this was the impression I got towards Bret/Bulldog. I enjoyed this mach a lot more than their SummerSlam '92 encounter. I found it must more physical and the inclusion of blood made it seem special. The reason why most fans don't talk about Sid/Michaels from Survivor Series '96 is because Survivor Series '96 is a very underrated PPV. When I saw this event as an eight year old in 1996, I enjoyed this PPV. I think I may need to watch this event with 24 year old eyes. What funny is the WWE Championship changed hands at the three Survivor Series events that took place as Madison Square Garden. Another forgotten match people don't often talk about is Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart from the 1992 Survivor Series. People gloss the Screwjob and Iron Man Match over this.

Survivors Series 96 was the night Vince decided he needed to change things.....or at leats seen things were changing in the fan base.
the positive reactions for Austin and Sid genuinely shocked him that night.

I loved Survivor series 1996 myself. highlighted by the night before, when myself and 2 friends literally sat down at the local bar and discussed the state of pro wrestling and the WWF over some beers. my argument, ironically enough,is that the current WWF product wasn't working and Vince needed a change from Shawn Michaels. lo and behold!
so it was a great wrestling-centric weekend for me.

Survivors Series 96 was the night Vince decided he needed to change things.....or at leats seen things were changing in the fan base. the positive reactions for Austin and Sid genuinely shocked him that night. Some could agree that the transition from the New Generation Era to the Attitude Era began at Survivor Series '96. The overall product in 1997 was vastly different then what we saw in the early part of 1996 and most definitely the entire year of 1995. During the New Generation Era, Survivor Series '96 was easily one of the best PPV's from that period. Too bad people gloss over that time period in favor for 1998-2001. There tons of gems in 1996 and 1997. Hell, I though Triple H and Steve Austin's first PPV one-on-one match was a good, yet forgotten match. I'd say, they had chemistry in the ring.

Yeah, Bulldog's classic with Bret at Seasons Beatings was terrific. I always preferred it to the Summerslam contest, which was indeed epic as well.
Another underrated as hell Davey match was the one with HBK at King of the Ring 96.
