Ric Rude had to be one of my favorite wrestlers ever. The guy was so cool looking and had of the best physiques ive ever seen and i could never understand why he was never WWE Champion. Did he ever win the world title in WCW or any other territoriy im not aware off? It just seems for a guy that had everything why wouldnt anyone let him be champion?

he was technically world champion after a WCCW merger, and WCW international champion, which WCW used as a world title. but officially, i don't think so.

The whole classics board is about random questions and discussions of past events. Having one thread for "random questions" seems like every thread on the classics board would have to go there, thus negating the need for a classics board.

The WCW International World Title was a World title in WCW. They had 2 top titles at the time, very similar to the WWE today. So if people consider Dolph Ziggler a World Champion then Rick Rude should be considered one too.

Hey thanks for mentioning that thread Brad. I appreciate it.
The purpose for that thread isn't for EVERY question but for small questions (kinda like this one) which can be answered easily without necessarily needing their own topic. That way we can all help each other out with small questions.
Nothing wrong with this thread though. Nobody HAS to use the thread I made. I just thought it would be helpful.
Anyway, I thought when Ric Flair took the belt to WWF that the International Title was actually considered their "World title"...

Im inclined to agree.if people wanna use the Bash thread that's cool with me.if not starting a thread aint an issue.there was a classic FAQ before and it was stagnant. like I say though its all good with me.

When Rick Rude won the title from Ric Flair it was referred to as "The World Heavyweight Championship" much as it is today. It wasnt until the midst of Rudes reign it was changed to the International Title.

Yes I think you have to consider him a WCW world champion. At one time he held the most prestigious title they had.

I don't care what anybody says; the fact that Rude held this title means he WAS a world champ. Would have been nice if there hadn't been another world title in the WCW at the time, but I'll take what I can get. Really wish they would have given him the winged eagle at Rumble 91 instead of Slaughter

Rude was gone from WWF by then I believe he was. he left the WWF in October 1990,just as he was beginning a feud with the Big Boss Man.
