WWF WOMEN'S CHAMPION...ON WCW NITRO?Written by Marc Pearson on April 16, 1996
In an unusual cycle of events, WWF superstar Alundra Blayze appeared on the opposition's television program, as Blayze appeared on WCW Monday Nitro last night. In the past seven months, both the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling have competed over Monday nights in what has developed to be a brutal rivalry. In the past, fans of the professional wrestling industry have witnessed WWF superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Lex Luger change sides from the WWF, appearing on WCW programming and making the Atlanta-based promotion look even more powerful. The ratings war that began last September between WWF's Monday Night RAW and WCW's Monday Nitro initially started off see-sawing, as both averaged in the mid 2.'s, but over time, Nitro have gradually taken advantage of the ever-shifting landscape of the US wrestling industry. What used to be ran in a territorial system is now a war for control over the United States viewership of professional wrestling, and the war is between two vicious promoters, Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff. New York vs Atlanta. Mano-E-mano. Funded under the umbrella of Ted Turner's empire, World Championship Wrestling in previous months have made offers to several talents from the World Wrestling Federation such as Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Sean Waltman (the 1-2-3 Kid), Razor Ramon, Diesel and various other homegrown stars. With Turner's money in Bischoff's hands, he has signed former WWF Champion and face of the New York based company Diesel. These tactics have been present in the past, from Vince McMahon himself - who in the early 1980s began purchasing other territories' top stars in order to buy out and diminish the entire territorial state of the US wrestling scene. This also has an everlasting effect on the independent circuit. Never before has the free agents been so prestigious. This has become evident in recent months too, for example when Jim Cornette's Appalachian-based Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion closed its doors, and many of its' top stars ended up signing with the World Wrestling Federation such as Chris Candido (Skip) and Al Snow (Leif Cassidy). It presents great opportunities to rising talents, such as Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko and Eddy Guerrero - all talented individuals who have wrestled in Japan, Mexico and Canada. All four of these men have signed with World Championship Wrestling recently and should create a diversity to the "sports entertainment" style being smaller talents with plenty of experience and limitless talent in the ring, each specialising in high-flying and technical wrestling. Additionally, what's out with the old is in with the new, as seen recently as well when the World Wrestling Federation signed former WCW talents Big Van Vader, Steve Austin, Cactus Jack (Mankind) and Johnny B. Badd (Marc Mero). It creates a lot of changes to the landscape of the ever-changing industry.
Last night on Monday Nitro, the reigning WWF Women's Champion Alundra Blayze shocked the world by appearing unannounced on WCW Nitro, appearing on the opposition's television screen and throwing the WWF's own title belt literally in the garbage. Now known as 'Madusa', Blayze has abandoned her prior roots from the WWF for a fresh start in WCW. And it demoralises the WWF fanbase, as WCW continue to take an edgier approach. Morale could be effected by this, either between a worker and another worker, or a promoter and a worker - especially however, a promoter and a promoter. It is inevitable that this is another shot fired in this ongoing Monday Night War between two premiere promotions in the United States - the two biggest wrestling promotions in the world. What happens next however, remains to be seen.

IT IS TIME FOR MONDEHHH NAIGHHTTT RRRAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! 'Calm down, Vince! Wheres the puppies!? WHOA-OH!'
Decent opening contest thast basically set the stage for Diesel to lay out Tatanka with O'Finley being more or less a pawn for it. Very good promo coming up after the match with Shawn Michaels and Big Daddy Cool, with Diesel laying out his former best friend. Looking forward to him facing HBK on May 26th, even if he does end up leaving. The WWF Tag Team Champions is no surprise over The Bushwhackers here, we'll move on and hope that they get legitimate challengers down the road. Which I'm sure we will. OOOOOOH YESSSSSSSSSS Paul Bearer in the ring will definitely be interesting to see at In Your House. Make A Difference Fatu drives me crazy. Haha, he actually beat The British Bulldog. Camp Cornette assaulting Rikishi Fatu was expected following that one. Jake Roberts a born-again Christian was never real, man! We know what he done! Wonder where you'll go with it, though. Finally, to end RAHHHHHH we have Mankind in action against... Bob Holly. Wah. Obviously Mankind was going to get the win along with Waylon Mercy and of course we had to have the mind games and attack from The Undertaker to follow up. A good edition of RAHHHHHHH.

WWF Monday Night RAW - May 13, 1996 The Municipal Auditorium - Sioux City, IA
Segment | Description | Timeline | 1 | A replay from last week on Monday Night RAW aired, as it reviewed the ongoing situation between "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel and the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, as the WWF Champion came out to confront his former best friend in the ring last week, just for Diesel to explain that he was leaving the World Wrestling Federation - but planned on taking the title with him! Shawn tried to fight with his ex-best friend, but the giant "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel took Michaels down and out with a huge big boot! A match made for May 26 in Florence, South Carolina, best friends colliding with the state of the WWF and the WWF Championship on the line, at In Your House! The opening video package for Monday Night RAW aired, before cutting to the Municipal Auditorium in Sioux City, Iowa; as Vince McMahon alongside Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to the show, talking about what was scheduled to take place in the next hour, as Hunter Hearst Helmsley has plans to call out the Ultimate Warrior; the "Wild Man" Marc Mero makes his in-ring debut when he teams with Ahmed Johnson to take on Sean Waltman and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin; the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega will challenge the "Mastodon" Vader; plus, the Jeff Jarrett and Dean Douglas open invitational continues; part two of the sit-down interview Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and an update on the condition of the "King of Harts" Owen Hart! | 00:03 | 2 | WWF Champion "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels def. "The Bruiser" Riley O'Finley by disqualification [02:48] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:02 for aftermath] The "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels appeared to be looking slightly pained after being given numerous beatings in the past few weeks, first from a crippling match with the "King of Harts" Owen Hart back at In Your House two weeks ago, but also from the assault from "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel not once but on two occasions in the past fortnight! Michaels was going up against the newcomer in the World Wrestling Federation, the so-called 'world-class wrestler', Riley O'Finley - the Irishman with both an aggressive side as well as an obnoxious, arrogant attitude. O'Finley has proven on a few occasions already in his short run with the WWF so far that he can outwrestle the best of them, but he found himself in a struggle trying to outwrestle the World Wrestling Federation Champion, as Michaels managed to mount O'Finley and slap him across the back of the head, pleasing the fans greatly - and this caused the "Bruiser" to evacuate the ring, O'Finley visibly getting frustrated with the "Heartbreak Kid"! Michaels strutted his stuff to the fans in Sioux City, as Riley then decided to get back into the ring for another round - but suddenly in the midst of another chain-wrestling battle, O'Finley was trapped in a hammerlock, and decided to give Michaels a low blow for his troubles! The referee had no choice but to ring for the bell.
The fans booed loudly as the "Bruiser" raised his hands at the official disqualifying him, Riley O'Finley smirking as he watched Shawn Michaels curdle over, before O'Finley decided to lock in a legsweep stretch, the newcomer having Michaels riving in pain over the recently injured knee of the WWF Champion! As O'Finley continued to apply pressure on Michaels, the seven-footer Diesel stormed down to the ring, Diesel with a sadistic glance on his face climbing into the ring, O'Finley smirking and releasing the hold before rolling out of the ring - allegedly all a big set-up for Diesel to further the attack on his ex-best friend! Diesel picked Shawn up and mocked him as Michaels tried to get in several punches, but Diesel then planted him with a huge Jackknife Powerbomb! Diesel decided that he was done there however, as "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel left the ring and went to secure a steel chair from ringside, Diesel planning to repeat what he did to Michaels at In Your House two weeks ago! Diesel waited for the WWF Champion to get to his feet - when suddenly the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon darted down to the ring, Razor nailing Diesel with several lefts and rights, as Diesel then decided to bail from the ring! Ramon attended to the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels in the ring, Ramon not very appreciative of "Big Daddy Cool"s attitude towards the WWF Champion! | 00:09 | 3 | An advertisement aired, promoting WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, May 26, 1996. | 00:10 | - | Commercial Break | 00:13 | 4 | We returned to Monday Night RAW, as Dok Hendrix was standing by behind the curtain as "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel tried to walk past just for Dok to chase up Diesel for a few comments on what just went down. Diesel was outraged, as he talked about how this situation has nothing to do with Razor Ramon, and that the "Bad Guy" should stop sticking up for what isn't his duty in the first place. Suddenly, the President of the World Wrestling Federation, Mr Perfect appeared, as Perfect said that he saw what just happened out there, and he's watched Diesel plan this conspicuous strategy to remove the WWF Championship from the WWF. Perfect said that first of all, congratulations on "Big Daddy Cool" for going elsewhere, and he congratulated Diesel on also finding himself with a WWF Championship match in what will be his last appearance at In Your House in two weeks: but he's decided to add a stipulation to the match on May 26, because it will truly be Good Friends, Better Enemies when he faces Shawn Michaels in a No Holds Barred match! Diesel seemed angry, as he called Perfect a crook - but that's when Perfect decided that because Diesel's still under contract, that he's making a match for next Monday night on RAW - Diesel going one-on-one with none other than the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon! Perfect left, as Diesel shouted repeatedly at the former WWF Intercontinental Champion, some retribution for everything Diesel's done! | 00:14 | 5 | In the ring, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Agent Dean Douglas were making their way out to the ring, as the WWF Tag Team Champions seemed awfully confident in this edition of their open invitational challenge to any tag team across the globe. Jarrett talked about how this might be too easy, because they have proven time and time again that they are much better than any tag team out there, summed up in under a minute last week when they defeated the New Zealand Bushwhackers! Dean Douglas talked about how they have the best chemistry, the best charisma, the best looks, and the best music in the world, but now on top of that, they are the greatest WWF Tag Team Champions! Douglas laughed, when suddenly the theme of the New Rockers hit, out coming Marty Jannetty and Leif Cassidy, accepting the open invitational tonight! | 00:15 | 5 | WWF Tag Team Champions "Double J" Jeff Jarrett & Agent Dean Douglas def. The New Rockers [05:26] [+00:02 for entrances] The New Rockers have been making leaps and bounds since their formation two months ago, as Marty Jannetty has began to groom Leif Cassidy into a talented young prospect in the New Rockers over on WWF Superstars. But this was a huge step for the duo, as "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Agent Dean Douglas seemed to know exactly what to expect in the early goings of this match, as Jarrett stomped away at Jannetty and disrespected the veteran, the original Rocker soon firing back with multiple lefts and rights, before giving Jarrett a dropkick and an armdrag, the double-team work of the New Rockers beginning as Leif Cassidy made his RAW debut, firing away with a big hiptoss and double elbow drop combination with Jannetty, Cassidy then going on to prove himself as a new age Rocker, Cassidy expertly nailing a moonsault onto Jarrett at one point. Jarrett soon used his own experience to get the better of Leif however, the country music star slyly stomping away at Cassidy before double-teaming him with Dean Douglas. Douglas and Jarrett held Cassidy hostage, working the leg of the rookie before he started fighting back, Cassidy about to make the tag to Jannetty, but Douglas came from out of nowhere on the other side of the ring, tripping Jannetty off of the apron! Meanwhile Jarrett locked in the Figure-Four Leglock on Cassidy, and that was it for the New Rockers!
The crowd booed as "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Agent Dean Douglas paraded their victory in the ring, celebrating with the WWF Tag Team Championships in a mocking way after putting away the New Rockers tonight! Leif Cassidy was in pain in the ring, as Marty Jannetty helped him to the back. Another victory tonight for "Double J" and the Agent in their open invitational. | 00:22 | 6 | Vince McMahon and Jerry "The King" Lawler were shown on commentary, as they talked about how action-packed this episode of Monday Night RAW is before talking about the "King of Harts" Owen Hart, who was injured two weeks ago at In Your House: Bad Attitudes; his grudge match with the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship unfortunately sidelining Hart with a torn hamstring. McMahon then took us to some pre-recorded comments with the "King of Harts". Hart was shown in his living room brandishing a thigh-high cast on his right leg, as Owen talked about how his leg was mangled up by the sick and twisted Shawn Michaels and that because of him, the "King of Harts" will never get his moment in the sun! Owen complained that this injury sucks, much like him losing at In Your House sucks, because he would make such a better WWF Champion that Michaels ever would. Hart sighed, before stating that all is not so lost however, because Owen will be back, and when he is he will be stronger than ever, and he will beat everybody the World Wrestling Federation throws at him - by any means necessary, the "King of Harts" will be WWF Champion! | 00:24 | - | Commercial Break | 00:27 | 7 | We returned to Monday Night RAW to some comments from Waylon Mercy, as Mercy was shown not facing the camera under a bright light. Mercy talked about how he has sided with Mankind to prove to the world that the impossible is possible, for every crippled man there is a strong spirit, and because of that compassion, they show no compassion. Mercy turned to the camera, as he talked about how nobody thought that a man like he could put away someone like the Undertaker. Because he never got that chance, he was never able to get to that chance. Waylon said that he was put out injured, so he couldn't do anything about this burning rage inside of him to destroy the legacy of the Undertaker! Mercy said that he found Mankind, and he made his blood boil about the Undertaker - he created a monster in Mankind. Deranged, insane, sadistic - those words all describe his ally. Mercy vowed that together, at In Your House, they will do something nobody has ever done, and destroy the Undertaker and Paul Bearer, forever! Mercy manically laughed, as he turned around again to show his jacket reading "NO MERCY" in blood red font. | 00:28 | 8 | We returned to the Municipal Auditorium in Sioux City, as the theme of Hunter Hearst Helmsley was playing. The "Blue Blood" climbed into the ring alongside his valet, Elizabeth Hilden, as Helmsley curtseyed obnoxiously to the fans in attendance. Hunter was joined in the ring by Jim Ross, who asked Helmsley for some comments about why Helmsley wants to put away the Ultimate Warrior so badly. Hunter talked about how he doesn't believe in misogyny, that he feels like every woman out there should have equal rights and be treat like a fine, beautiful lady - which is why he doesn't appreciate his valet, the beautiful Elizabeth Hilden to get slapped around. Hunter continued, talking about how he feels that it is his best duty as the gentleman that he is to confront the foaming-at-the-mouth freak that is the Ultimate Warrior, who put his awful tongue down the throat of his valet at In Your House! Hunter talked about how before, he wanted to just make an impact, and put away at the Warrior once and for all, but now, he wants to humiliate the Warrior, much like Elizabeth felt two weeks ago! The fans booed, as Hunter told the Warrior to come out to the ring, causing Hilden to quickly scatter out of the ring and to ringside, avoiding the Warrior out of fear. With that, the theme of the Ultimate Warrior hit - lighting the Auditorium up! The Warrior charged for the ring as the fans were going crazy for the former WWF Champion! Helmsley cut Warrior's entrance off, as he talked about how it's all about mystique with the Warrior, so it seems. Helmsley went to continue, but that's when the Warrior decided to cut Hunter off, snorting loudly at him over the microphone! The fans cheered, as Hunter didn't know how to react. Warrior said that he did what was best for Elizabeth Hilden, so he kissed her face off, and he destroyed the "Blue Blood" because she was much better than him! The fans cheered, as Hilden looked on with more fear in her eyes than before. Hunter talked to Warrior, telling him that he doesn't like what he did, and he doesn't like what he's accomplished. He may have an impressive legacy, but besides that, what else has he got going for him? He's ugly, he's unattractive, he assaults women barbarically, and has a horrible odor! Helmsley said that he's confused about why he even has a legacy! Warrior replied easily, stating that he was more man than Hunter Hearst Helmsley ever will be! The fans were hanging onto every one of the Warrior's words, as Helmsley shook his head. Hunter seemed to be getting angry, as Warrior cut to the chase, asking Helmsley if he wants another match with the Warrior, because he feels like Hunter is asking for another asskicking, Warrior style! The fans erupted as Helmsley looked outraged, then turning to Warrior and telling him he's on - at that moment, from behind came Elizabeth Hilden, striking Warrior with a lead pipe across the back of the skull! Unlike the steel chair, the lead pipe effected Warrior, as the "Blue Blood" then planted Warrior with a Pedigree right in the middle of the ring! Helmsley and Hilden did a French kiss over the fallen body of the Warrior, as Hilden had just gone from a fearful, innocent valet to a femme-fatale, all to aid her man, Hunter Hearst Helmsley! | 00:34 | 9 | Another promo aired, this time with the deranged one Mankind, as the deranged one was also shown under a light, his back to the camera. Mankind screeched as he visibly pulled at his hair about how the Undertaker ruined his life. Mankind said that they were best friends, but the "Deadman" tried to take advantage of him. The Undertaker, Mark, he is not a good man, he is a deceitful, deceiving big man, and he deserves to have his career tarnished by them! Mankind talked about how he is not afraid of the Undertaker, he does not fear him, he does not underestimate him either, but what the Undertaker is about to find out is that you can't set fire to another man's raging fire that's inside of him! Mankind shouted as he turned to the camera that he was going to manhandle the Undertaker, that "Father" Waylon Mercy has told him about the malicious acts the Undertaker has committed. Mankind said that he and Mercy are a match made in Hell, and it's the best Hell that can be, because it's time to end the Undertaker, and get rid of his little manager as well! Mankind laughed as he squeaked, pulling at his hair. Mankind turned his back to the camera like Mercy did, revealing "BEST FOR MANKIND" written on the back in blood red font. | 00:35 | 10 | "The Pearl River Powerhouse" Ahmed Johnson and "The Wild Man" Marc Mero def. WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (w/Ted Dibiase) [08:24 - exceeded one commercial break] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] This was payback for Ahmed Johnson, who was attacked two weeks by the members of the Million Dollar Corporation, but this was also about payback for Sean Waltman and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who were taken out two weeks ago by the debuting Marc Mero, the "Wild Man" having cleared house of Austin and made a mockery out of the WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman when he floored him with a knockout punch in seconds. Ted Dibiase instigated at ringside, the "Million Dollar Man" ruthless as Mero started off with his opponent for In Your House in two weeks, Steve Austin, Austin getting the better of Mero with his ground-and-pound style, pounding away at Mero with a Lou Thesz press. Mero soon came back on the rebound however, Mero with an athletic series of arm drags for Austin before giving "Stone Cold" a big enzuigiri! Mero and Ahmed then teamed up in double-teaming Austin, Johnson using his power as a strategy in gorilla pressing Austin across the ring and ruthlessly pounding away at the face of Steve until Ted Dibiase distracted Ahmed, leading to Sean Waltman to slyly slip into the ring and kick Ahmed in the back of the head! Austin and Waltman then kept Ahmed down, working away at the "Pearl River Powerhouse" as the "Wild Man" watched on, crazily striving for the fresh tag. Ahmed eventually got back into the swing of things, rapidly firing away at Austin with a clothesline and catching Waltman off of the top rope with a big sidewalk slam! Johnson tagged in Mero, as the "Wild Man" slipped in with a big missile dropkick for the WWF Intercontinental Champion, Mero soon giving Austin a hurricanrana before flooring him with a big roundhouse punch similar to the one he gave Waltman two weeks ago! Ahmed meanwhile chased Waltman around ringside, the cowardly champion trying to keep a distance away from his opponent - as meanwhile Mero went to the top rope and came off with a huge Shooting Star Press on Austin for the victory!
The fans came to their feet as the hand of the "Wild Man" was raised in victory, Marc Mero successful in his in-ring debut tonight on RAW! Ted Dibiase looked enraged at ringside, the "Million Dollar Man" attending to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in the ring. Mero was joined by Ahmed Johnson as the two celebrated in the ring whilst Sean Waltman aggressively snatched his WWF Intercontinental Championship from the timekeeper and left with the Million Dollar Corporation, Austin seemingly dazed from the knockout punch and impressive Shooting Star Press from Mero. | 00:46 | 11 | Vince McMahon directed us to the second part of the sit-down interview with Jake "The Snake" Roberts, as conducted by Jim Ross, as Jim asked Roberts about his childhood, growing up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Jake talked about how he was neglected as a child, he rarely saw his father at home because he was always on the road, competing. Jake said his father, he vowed at a young age never to grow up to be like him, and that's exactly how he turned out. Jake talked about how life soon became a pain for him, because he grew up with the same desire to wrestle, to fight, to compete. Jake said that this drove him crazy, as he then decided to come to the World Wrestling Federation, and he had a heck of a run. But he never won the big one, he never won any championships. Roberts said that this was fine with him because he was an enigma that didn't need gold to certify his standing with the company, but that was before he got bad. Jake got emotional, as he talked about how his children he distanced from, and life after the WWF in his last tenure got bad because he stopped listening to everybody, he cut himself off. Times were rough, so he turned to alcohol, and drugs. Jake said that those drugs and that alcohol could have killed him, his addiction got that bad. Jake said that he was in a world of hurt, that he was feeling hurt - but he knew that he didn't have much to live for. Roberts then turned to when he was saved, citing the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as his redirection. Jake said that he found a friend in Jesus, and that he knew that under the eyes of God, he could be reguided, he could change, and that he could become a man free of his demons. Roberts said that it's a great day to be alive, because he's gotten back into the WWF, he's getting his life back together - but the pain will always be there. Jake said that it's a miracle to be alive, and he's more content now than ever. Jim thanked Jake for his time in this heart-wrenching sit-down interview series. | 00:49 | 12 | We returned to Vince McMahon and Jerry "The King" Lawler, who was particularly rattled by that interview, Lawler calling Jake Roberts a huge crybaby with no guts. Jerry said that he's sick and tired of Jake's comments, hearing him cry like a little girl about how life was tough for him. "The King" angrily stated that he was fed up with this "Resurrection of Jake Roberts" stuff too, because Jake isn't a good man, he's a horrible one - and he would put an end to Roberts' born-again Christian life quicker than Jake would finish a bottle of Whiskey if they ever got in the ring! McMahon apologised for Jerry's comments before swiftly turning to promoting next Monday's edition of RAW, just six days away from WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies! McMahon touted that next week we will see "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel go up against the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon; the Ultimate Warrior will be in action against the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw; plus, the "Pearl River Powerhouse" Ahmed Johnson will get a shot at the WWF Intercontinental Championship of Sean Waltman; Not only that, but "Make A Difference" Fatu will take on the British Bulldog in a rematch from last week, the Bulldog desperate for another shot at beating the uprising star. Jerry then chimed in, stating that this whole thing with Jake Roberts has annoyed him so much that next week, because of Jake, we will see the King's Court make a comeback - with none other than "everybody's little hero", Jake Roberts! All of this and more, next Monday from 8:57/7:57 CT, only on the USA Network. | 00:51
13 | "The Mastodon" Vader (w/James E. Cornette, Clarence Mason & The British Bulldog) def. "The Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega [06:11] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:02 for aftermath] Savio Vega was in a rough spot tonight on Monday Night RAW in the main event with one of the baddest dudes walking the surface of the World Wrestling Federation in recent months, like the "Mastodon" Vader. Vader came out unusually with the British Bulldog in his corner, as well as James E. Cornette and Clarence Mason, so Savio Vega was definitely in harm's way and had to watch out for not only two, but four members of Camp Cornette! The "Puerto Rican Superman" actually had Vader at a disadvantage though, as Vega dodged Vader whenever he could, using speed to his advantage, continuously slipping away from the grasp of the "Mastodon". Vega then ran into trouble eventually however, as Vader suddenly squashed Vega like a bug with a big splash in the corner! Vader continued to torment Savio to the fans' displeasure, as he pounded away at the face of Savio and stomped away at the much smaller opponent. The fearsome "Mastodon" from the Rocky Mountains was in control, as Vega seemed hurt from the offense of the crippling "Mastodon", Vader giving Savio not one but two powerbombs! Suddenly, the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw came out for a closer look, Bradshaw having recently been a nuisance watching Savio's every move. Bradshaw and Uncle Zebekiah watched on from the aisleway, as Bulldog, Mason and Cornette also joined in - when Vader went up to the top rope and came off with that huge Vadersault, crushing Savio for the easy victory!
The fans booed loudly as Vader's paw was raised in victory, the 450-pound "Mastodon" having picked up a very dominant win tonight on RAW - and that's when James E. Cornette and Clarence Mason got into the ring to celebrate with him, before James Bradshaw and Uncle Zebekiah did as well, Bradshaw scooping Savio up and dropping the "Puerto Rican Superman" with a huge Western Lariat! Bradshaw and Zebekiah had joined in, and that's when the British Bulldog did too, the man who beat Vega last weekend on Superstars picking Savio up and giving him the Running Powerslam! Camp Cornette, Bradshaw and Zebekiah stood in union, when suddenly "Make A Difference" Fatu ran down to the ring...joined by "The Mighty" Yokozuna! Yokozuna was back, as Fatu and a slightly slimmer Yokozuna hit the ring, scaring off all members of Camp Cornette and their extended family! "Make A Difference" and the "Mighty" Yokozuna had formed a union, these two cousins scaring off the opposition, and Yokozuna's ankle appeared to be fine! Cornette, Vader, Bulldog and Mason were outraged as RAW went off the air | 01:01
| NEXT WEEK: "BIG DADDY COOL" DIESEL FACES "THE BAD GUY" RAZOR RAMON; THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR TAKES ON "THE OUTLAW" JAMES BRADSHAW; THE KING'S COURT RETURNS WITH JAKE "THE SNAKE" ROBERTS AS JERRY LAWLER'S GUEST; AHMED JOHNSON CHALLENGES FOR SEAN WALTMAN'S WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP; "MAKE A DIFFERENCE" FATU FACES THE BRITISH BULLDOG IN A REMATCH; PLUS MORE! |

WWF Superstars - May 18, 1996 The Veterans Memorial Auditorium - Des Moines, IA
Segment | Description | Timeline | 1 | A recap video aired from Monday Night RAW, where the British Bulldog, Vader and James Bradshaw were beating down Savio Vega following Vega's match with the "Mastodon", when "Make A Difference" Fatu ran down to the ring, alongside the returning "Mighty" Yokozuna, fending away the members of Camp Cornette and the "Outlaw". The opening video package aired, taking us to the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa for another action-packed edition of Saturday Morning Superstars! Jim Ross alongside Dok Hendrix welcomed us to the show, as they reminded us that WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies was only eight days away live on pay-per-view. They ran down the action for the upcoming hour, as the WWF Tag Team Championship open invitational issued by "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Agent Dean Douglas makes its way onto WWF Superstars; plus, the New Rockers takes on the Bodydonnas; "the Mastodon" Vader does battle with Phineas I. Godwinn, Riley O'Finley takes on Duke "The Dumpster" Droese, and a lot more! | 00:02 | 2 | The Bodydonnas (w/Sunny) def. The New Rockers [07:44] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] Two tag teams that appear to be on a hot streak in recent weeks on WWF Superstars, Skip and Zip of the Bodydonnas as always were accompanied by Sunny - who appears to be assisting the in-training tandem a lot in recent weeks, went up against the renovated version of the Rockers, consisting of Marty Jannetty and newcomer Leif Cassidy. Cassidy managed to keep up with the more experienced Zip in the opening moments, laying Zip out with a series of dropkicks and armdrags, as the tag team antics of the New Rockers then set in, with Marty Jannetty getting the tag, and the two connected with duo hiptosses and a double suplex on Skip! Jannetty tried to go old-school on Skip, but the up-and-comer fired back, using his technical talent to get the better of Jannetty. Skip and Zip worked away at the arm of Jannetty, wrenching away at it as Skip continued to show a lot of promise with his in-ring abilities. Cassidy was getting overly excited on the apron, as the fans in Des Moines got behind Jannetty, and Marty just like that started to make a comeback, a hurricanrana taking Skip down, and the tag was made to the rookie Cassidy! Leif got into the ring and fired away at Skip and Zip, a snap suplex for Zip and a cradle on Skip getting a close call, before Cassidy suddenly took Skip down with an inverted atomic drop - Cassidy then going up to the top rope for the moonsault - but that's when Sunny got onto the apron, causing Cassidy to approach her - Sunny stroking his chest and flirting with him, and that's when Skip came from behind, a big brainbuster connecting! Skip covered, and the Bodydonnas got the win!
The crowd booed as Skip and Zip rolled out of the ring, celebrating with their manager, Sunny - who continued to have an assistance in their matches! Marty Jannetty meanwhile aided to the fallen Leif Cassidy, who seemed very upset about the loss this morning on Superstars. | 00:12 | 3 | We cut to James E. Cornette, Clarence Mason and the British Bulldog for a promo, as the trio stood in front of Bulldog's backdrop. Cornette talked about how outrageous it is that despite everything that Camp Cornette, the "Mastodon" Vader and the British Bulldog has done, that the "Mighty" Yokozuna can just make a comeback! Cornette said that he's fed up of having to deal with this 600+ pound moron, who's too fat and too useless to do anything at all! The Bulldog talked about how last Monday night on RAW he was disgraced by Yokozuna and Fatu, but that doesn't mean a thing come Monday on RAW, because he will annihilate "Make A Difference" once and for all! | 00:13 | - | Commercial Break | 00:17 | 4 | "The Outlaw" James Bradshaw (w/Uncle Zebekiah) def. Bushwhacker Butch (w/Bushwhacker Luke) in Stage 2 of the Patriotism Challenge [03:15] [+00:02 for entrances] After stalking the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega recently during the Puerto Rican's matches, now it was time for the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw to prove what he had in him - Bradshaw announced to take on Savio during the Free 4-All prior to In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies in two weeks, all a part of the Patriotism Challenge as Bradshaw and Uncle Zebekiah plan to dominate and defeat every non-American member of the WWF roster just over a month ago. He had issues with his opponent this morning, revealed to be Butch of the Bushwhackers however, as Luke stalked Zebekiah around the ringside area, following him with his trademark dance. Butch connected with his unorthodox style, but Bradshaw soon cut Butch off, and the New Zealander was unable to come back from it, being given a big boot and a fallaway slam. Bradshaw finally put Butch away with the Western Lariat for another victory! Meanwhile in an insert promo, Bradshaw and Uncle Zebekiah were shown talking about how they couldn't wait to conquer Savio Vega on May 26, but first of all, they have to conquer the Ultimate Warrior - the man from "Parts Unknown". Bradshaw claimed that he didn't know where Parts Unknown was, but it doesn't sound as American as the "Outlaw"! Zebekiah said that the Warrior's end would come this Monday on RAW.
The crowd booed as the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw celebrated his win, Uncle Zebekiah then stepping into the ring to join him in his celebration. Bradshaw has now defeated two non-American superstars from the World Wrestling Federation, completing two stages of the Patriotism Challenge - but with two stages waiting for Bradshaw to complete, could the "Outlaw" get the job done with matches with the Ultimate Warrior and Savio Vega awaiting? | 00:22 | 5 |
The WWF Slam of the Week aired, taking us back to Monday Night RAW this past week, where Hunter Hearst Helmsley called out the Ultimate Warrior and sealed the deal for a match at In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies - but it would not end simply, as the "Blue Blood" played mind games with the Warrior, having his valet, the apparently innocent Elizabeth Hilden nail the Warrior with a lead pipe to the back of the skull - followed up by the Pedigree courtesy of Helmsley! | 00:23 | 6 | We cut to a promo from Hunter Hearst Helmsley alongside Elizabeth Hilden, in front of the "Blue Blood"s backdrop, as Helmsley congratulated his valet on a wonderful job in taking down the Ultimate Warrior. Hilden said that she just wanted to help her favourite man in the world, in the "Blue Blood". The two kissed gently, as Hunter talked about how he has heard so much about how great the Ultimate Warrior is, how awesome Warrior was as World Wrestling Federation Champion, and how great his legacy is - but what they don't realize is that this is the New Generation, and that the future only has Hunter Hearst Helmsley's name on the marquee. | 00:24 | 7 | The theme of "Double J" Jeff Jarrett hit back in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, as the WWF Tag Team Champions made their way out to the ring, Jarrett accompanied by his partner and agent, Dean Douglas. Douglas had his microphone in hand as he talked about how he is the greatest agent of the greatest country music sensation, and that together they make the greatest tag team, and the greatest WWF Tag Team Champions of all time! Jarrett then questioned "ain't we great?" to the fans, obnoxiously flapping his gums, as "Double J" talked about how they have already proven that they are the greatest tag team walking God's green earth, but in this open invitational, he asked who had the guts to step up to the challenge of this beautiful tag team combination - and with that, the theme of "Sparky Plugg" Bob Holly hit, the NASCAR driver making his way out to the ring alongside the "Portuguese Man O'War" Aldo Montoya! | 00:25 | 8 | WWF Tag Team Champions "Double J" Jeff Jarrett & Agent Dean Douglas def. "Sparky Plugg" Bob Holly & "The Portuguese Man O'War" Aldo Montoya [04:29] [+00:01 for aftermath] Aldo Montoya and Bob Holly had accepted the open invitational to take on "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Agent Dean Douglas this morning on WWF Superstars, as "Sparky Plugg" and the "Portuguese Man O'War" had the perfect opportunity to gain the biggest upset of their careers, by knocking off a win against the reigning WWF Tag Team Champions - who have been champions since the Royal Rumble back in January. Douglas slapped Montoya around in the opening moments of the match, the Agent working away at Montoya and going after the neck in particular before tagging in Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett and Douglas double-teamed over the masked Montoya, the NASCAR racer Bob Holly waiting impatiently on the apron. Finally, Montoya made a comeback, delivering an enzuigiri for Douglas and a hiptoss for Jarrett, Montoya making the tag to Bob Holly! Holly got in and pounded away at Douglas, taking care of him with a neckbreaker and a suplex - but that's when Jarrett caught Holly's eye, "Double J" locking Holly in the Figure-Four Leglock as Douglas went up to the top rope, coming off with a huge guillotine elbow across the throat of Holly! Douglas hooked the legs, and that was it.
The crowd booed, as "Double J" Jeff Jarrett leaped into the arms of his Agent, Dean Douglas celebrating with Jarrett and the WWF Tag Team Champions, Aldo Montoya meanwhile attending to Bob Holly. Jarrett repeatedly said that they were the greatest tag team of all-time, and that could possibly be undisputed, another win in the open invitational by the WWF Tag Team Champions! | 00:30 | - | Commercial Break | 00:34 | 9 | We returned to WWF Superstars as Harvey Wippleman, making his return to the World Wrestling Federation was shown sat down on a sofa, with one Jerry "The King" Lawler, wearing a get-up made to parody Jake "The Snake" Roberts in snake-skinned singlet and jacket, a fake snake placed over his shoulders and a bottle of vodka in his hand. Wippleman asked Lawler about his past. Jerry mocked Jake, talking about how he's going to talk for a long time about how pathetic his life was, how he was once a successful superstar but his demons got him down - but summing it up with a return to the ring, a born-again Christian attitude, like everything had just been forgotten about. Lawler threw down the snake and told Harvey about how he's never liked Jake "The Snake" Roberts, because he knows that deep down, he's the same, pathetic old man he was several years ago. Jerry said how he's hated him from the second he encountered him in the Royal Rumble, humiliating him by throwing that ridiculous snake at him, covering the "King" with that slimy streak of disgusting animal. Jerry said that he knows Jake still likes a good drink, which is why he smashed a beer bottle over his head several months ago, it's why he cost Roberts the WWF Intercontinental Championship - because he doesn't deserve it! The WWF should not be represented by an alcoholic with so many demons, and Jerry Lawler is going to prove why! Lawler said that on May 26, it all comes to a head when he knocks Jake back into the horrible lifestyle he was in before, and at that moment, this so-called "Resurrection of Jake Roberts" will cease to exist! Wippleman laughed along and agreed, thanking Jerry for his time.
| 00:36 | 10 | "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon def. Tony Roy [02:02] [+00:01 for Ramon's entrance] Ever since In Your House last month, the "Bad Guy" has commented on how he desires the World Wrestling Federation Championship, and how he wants to become the WWF Champion - and with a match against current top contender "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel on RAW this upcoming Monday night, a win could really put Ramon in that position. This morning on Superstars, Ramon took on local talent Tony Roy, and although Roy tried to battle with Razor, Ramon managed to easily put Roy down, giving it to Tony Roy with several haymakers, as well as a big fallaway slam before wrapping things up with the Razor's Edge. In an insert promo, the "Bad Guy" talked about how he has fought with the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel through the past few years, and that it is reaching a boiling point. Diesel, now threatening to leave the WWF with the WWF Championship. Razor talked about his history with Michaels, and how they will never be friends - but he will not allow Diesel to leave the World Wrestling Federation with the WWF Championship in his possession. "The Bad Guy"s rise starts here!
The fans in Des Moines cheered as the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon celebrated his win, Jim Ross talking about Ramon's match this upcoming Monday night on RAW with "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. | 00:39 | 11 | Todd Pettingill welcomed us to the WWF In Your House report, as he talked about how In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies is just over a week away live on pay-per-view on Sunday, May 26, 1996. Pettingill talked about the line-up for the show, as the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels puts up the WWF Championship against ex-best-friend "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel in a No Holds Barred match; the Undertaker and Paul Bearer team up in the Tag Match from Hell, taking on the deranged Mankind and "Father" Waylon Mercy; Jerry "The King" Lawler does battle with Jake "The Snake" Roberts; "Stone Cold" Steve Austin takes on the "Wild Man" Marc Mero; And announced earlier this morning on WWF Superstars, the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw will do battle with the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega! Pettingill talked about how the line-up for In Your House is starting to heat up, before taking us to the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. The WWF Champion talked about how the games are on now, that Diesel can fairly use weapons - but that means that the "Showstopper" can also get a little violent as well. Shawn talked about how Diesel is trying to end his career after ending their friendship, and now he is trying to end the World Wrestling Federation by stealing his title! Shawn talked about how he will not allow Diesel to ruin his moment in the sun, after everything they've been through, good and bad - after In Your House it won't matter. The "Heartbreak Kid" said that he's going to pull out all of the stops to protect the WWF from being taken hostage by Diesel, and that the end of the line for "Big Daddy Cool" comes on May 26, at In Your House! Pettingill talked about how awesome Good Friends, Better Enemies will be, urging us to stay tuned for more information on the next big pay-per-view event, signing off. | 00:40 | 12 | "The Bruiser" Riley O'Finley def. Duke "The Dumpster" Droese [06:38 shown - exceeded one commercial break] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] The challenge was made last week by the Irishman Riley O'Finley against Duke Droese, as O'Finley called the residential garbage man in the World Wrestling Federation a mockery of everything he's stood up for in the past. The "Bruiser" was then attacked later on by the "Dumpster" with his signature trash can, O'Finley left dazed by Droese - but it would all end this morning on Superstars, as Droese pounded into the so-called 'world-class wrestler' in the early moments, causing O'Finley to bail from the ring. Upon a hesitant, methodical re-entry by Riley O'Finley, he decided to go to his roots, chain-wrestling with Droese, and beginning to one-up him with his body-part manipulating methods. O'Finley targeted the arm of the "Dumpster", a stern hammerlock locked in, until Droese suddenly ran Riley into the ropes! Duke then fired away at O'Finley again, wanting to teach the arrogant newcomer from Dublin a lesson, a sidewalk slam connecting! Droese was getting fired up, when Riley sent Droese sailing right into the turnbuckle! Riley let his aggressive side take over, as he went back to the shoulder and arm of the "Dumpster", extending the right arm of Droese and dropping repeated elbows across the collarbone, O'Finley getting really angry over Droese! O'Finley then locked in a chicken-wing crossface, as Droese had no choice but to tap out!
The crowd booed loudly as the "Bruiser" Riley O'Finley refused to relinquish the chicken-wing crossface on Duke "The Dumpster" Droese, O'Finley's aggressive side crossing paths with his technically artistic side! The official finally broke O'Finley from Droese who was riving in pain, as O'Finley celebrated cheerfully, seemingly as though he was a complete gentleman of a competitor! Droese seemed hurt, as the newcomer from Ireland had once again proven himself as a worthy member of the WWF locker room. | 00:49 | 13 | Jim Ross and Dok Hendrix talked about this week's edition of Monday Night RAW, six days remaining until In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies. They talked about what was going to take place, as the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon takes on number one contender to the WWF Championship "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel; the Ultimate Warrior will take on the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw in Stage 3 of the Patriotism Challenge for Bradshaw; the "Pearl River Powerhouse" Ahmed Johnson challenges for Sean Waltman's WWF Intercontinental Championship; "Make A Difference" Fatu takes on the British Bulldog in a rematch from two weeks ago on RAW; and in the return of the King's Court, we will see Jerry "The King" Lawler be joined by his opponent for In Your House, Jake "The Snake" Roberts; That plus, the Undertaker and Paul Bearer will be in the house, on RAW this Monday from 8:57/7:57 CT, only on the USA Network. | 00:50 | 14 | "The Mastodon" Vader (w/James E. Cornette) def. Phineas I. Godwinn (w/Henry O. Godwinn & Hillbilly Jim) [05:24] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] The 450-pound Vader has been a threat to anybody on the other side of the ring to him, but not quite like the "Mighty" Yokozuna - who he has defeated on two occasions before, but not without the assistance of his fellow Camp Cornette members - and despite having his ankle broken by the "Mastodon" a month ago on Monday Night RAW, Yokozuna was back with a vengeance, and along with his cousin "Make A Difference" Fatu, was out to try and put a stop to the dominant ways of Camp Cornette. Vader's opponent meanwhile, Phineas I. Godwinn had been on the losing end of several matches in recent weeks for his team in the Godwinns, but the Arkansas native tried to put up a good fight against the fast rising star Vader, stunning the 450-pounder and even managing to get the "Mastodon" down to one knee at one point! Vader soon fired back though, in natural fashion - the raw power of Vader crashing into Phineas with a huge splash in the corner - and Vader was soon on his way to victory. Henry O. Godwinn tried to intercept Jim Cornette's involvements in distracting Phineas as he tried to gain a second wind - but it was no good as Vader had a bear hug tightly applied on the pig farmer! Phineas was out cold, but Vader dropped him to the canvas before the referee could end the match - and that's when Vader went up to the top rope and came crashing down with a huge Vader Bomb, giving the "Mastodon" another victory!
The crowd booed as the "Mastodon" Vader celebrated his win to loud boos, being joined in the ring by his manager, James E. Cornette. Cornette and Vader celebrated as the Godwinns tried to attend to Phineas I. Godwinn, who was knocked out by the offense of Vader moments ago in that match! Meanwhile, in the backstage area Fatu and Yokozuna were shown watching the "Mastodon" and Jim Cornette on a television monitor, the two seemingly discussing something! The two continued to watch as Vader and Cornette celebrated, Saturday Morning Superstars going off the air! | 00:58 |
| NEXT WEEK: "THE DERANGED" MANKIND TAKES ON JAKE "THE SNAKE" ROBERTS; THE "BLUE BLOOD" HUNTER HEARST HELMSLEY BATTLES MARTY JANNETTY; THE "WILD MAN" MARC MERO ENCOUNTERS THE GOON; "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN FACES OFF WITH SAVIO VEGA; PLUS, "THE HEARTBREAK KID" SHAWN MICHAELS ADDRESSES THE AUDIENCE, "MAKE A DIFFERENCE" FATU & THE BODYDONNAS WILL BE IN ACTION! |

THE CHEAT SHEET Written by Marc Pearson on Monday, May 20, 1996
- In breaking news, last night at the WWF's live event in Madison Square Garden, Shawn Michaels - the top face of the company and WWF Champion - after defeating his arch nemesis Diesel in a steel-cage main event, Michaels helped Diesel to his feet following the match, and the two celebrated with a hug right there in the ring. During the display of kayfabe-breaking, the two real life best friends were then joined by fellow best friends in the locker room; Sean Waltman, Razor Ramon and Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Despite their lack of association, and range of positions in the company, the five men hugged it out in the ring and all five talents are said to be in "extremely hot waters" in the dressing room. It will be interesting to see how the WWF will take actions against this "Clique" group, given that Diesel will be leaving for World Championship Wrestling in over a week whilst his friends are all remaining in the WWF. It also damages the trust of everything that management expects of their talent roster, and the Clique have caught the ire of superstars throughout the locker room because of their exposing actions.
- Bret Hart worked the live events in Kuwait last week as a favor to the World Wrestling Federation, who were short of a top babyface to stand aside Shawn Michaels on the tour last week. Nothing has changed as far as the Bret and WWF's future situation is concerned, as Bret's contract with the WWF expires in September and Hart has currently yet to be offered or take up a contract extension. We will try to stay updated with the situation.
- With the King of the Ring tournament approaching following In Your House this weekend, here is the line-up for the first round of the annual sixteen-man tournament: - Riley O'Finley vs Razor Ramon - Jake Roberts vs The British Bulldog - Marc Mero vs Sean Waltman - Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs Fatu - Goldust vs Duke Droese - Ahmed Johnson vs Jerry Lawler - Tatanka vs Steve Austin - James Bradshaw vs Savio Vega
- Shawn Michaels posed for Playgirl Magazine earlier this month. Allegedly these are not fully-nude photographs, according to WWF representatives. This edition of Playgirl Magazine is scheduled to hit the press in time for the September issue.
- WWF Monday Night RAW received a 3.3 rating this week, increased from last week's 3.2. Although this is an increase, WCW Monday Nitro continue to win the ratings battle, scoring a 3.7 rating.
- WWF Monday Night RAW this past week aired on 5/13/1996. In results from the show: - Vader def. Savio Vega - Marc Mero & Ahmed Johnson def. Steve Austin & Sean Waltman - Jeff Jarrett & Dean Douglas def. The New Rockers - Shawn Michaels def. Riley O'Finley in a non-title match
- WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies is live on pay-per-view on 5/26/1996. The card is as follows: - Shawn Michaels vs Diesel in a No Holds Barred match for the WWF Championship - The Undertaker & Paul Bearer vs Mankind & Waylon Mercy - The Ultimate Warrior vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley - Marc Mero vs Steve Austin - Jake Roberts vs Jerry Lawler - Fatu & Yokozuna vs Vader & The British Bulldog (spec.) - Jeff Jarrett & Dean Douglas defend the WWF Tag Team Championships (spec.)

WWF 1996. That's something completely different on this board, in a time period that wasn't so interesting for the WWF, but right before the big boom and Attitude Era, wonder where you take it that far into the future.
Okay, RAW time. Gotta' say, I do love the idea of Big Daddy Cool walking out of WWF and into WCW with the Championship, but there's no way it's happening. Finlay? That's pretty random, but still cool. You're definitely putting him over big though by not having Michaels completely job him out. Post match attack by Diesel to soften HBK up is good, and Razor for the save is even better. Hopefully you don't let Razor go with Diesel! No Holds Barred is good too, that should be a damn good match. Shane Douglas and Jeff Jarrett as the tag champs? That's tight. Oh god, The New Rockers. Hahaha. Jarrett and Douglas with the obvious, but still solid title defense here. Owen Hart was getting mad over with the King of Harts gimmick, honestly my favorite out of every gimmick he had. I can definitely see Owen coming back with an attack on Michaels or something to kick start that feud sometime down the line. Waylon Mercy and Mankind against The Undertaker? That's wicked. Dark too. Maybe too dark for 1996, but I'm not complainin! So I googled Elizabeth Hilden and she's an Adult Movie Actress, that's always fun. I was gonna' guess it was Chyna with a different gimmick. But, Hunter Hearst Helmsley laying out Warrior with help from the valet is good, gets him that good ol' fashion heat. Man, this Mankind and Waylon Mercy pairing is awesome. I love it. Great promo from Mankind, and it was really believable. Ahmed Johnson and Marc Mero? Gah. Odd pairing there, not sure if I'm a fan of it. I figured they would pick up the win though as it's Marc Mero's debut. Solid tag bout. Born again christian Jake Roberts? This could go places, I'm intrigued. Vintage Jerry Lawler talking a bunch of bull, that's funny stuff right there. You have a stacked show for next week, so that's pretty cool. Savio Vega in the main event.. hmm. I see Camp Cornette has their fingers all in this one, which is understandable. A damn good push you have going here for Bradshaw too, guessing he's feuding with Vega? I like having all the heels surround the ring while Vader gives the beat down and gets the win, and Fatu for the save with the returning Yokozuna is cool too. Vader vs Yokozuna one of these times? That'd be nuts. Next week's show looks really good, and this show helped hype In Your House a lot. Very good show and you have a reader.

I like the Diesel/HBK story already. Blurring reality and fiction is a good twist. Not keen on this name for Finley, doesn't really work for me. Good opening segment, everybody involved looks good coming out of it, particularly Finley who looked capable against the top champion. Good booking in the aftermath also; Razor vs Diesel is a nice touch in what will be his final RAW match. I like the Douglas gimmick, that's a nice touch and a good extension of JJ's character. Waylon Mercy was a character with a lot of potential; hopefully you do something with him. Good segment for him. I liked the transformation of HHH's valet; always nice to see a vicious valet. Don't understand you using a porno girl for anything other than some sort of ironic humour, sure there is plenty of actual females around who could fill the role? Glad to see you're building the character of HHH well as well; this was an interesting stage in his career. Another good promo from Mankind; he and Mercy are an interesting pairing. Fantastic tag team match up, and strong debut for Mero; interesting choice to have him debut in a tag team match as well. I get that he is a legend and a useful hand, but I could do without the preachy sob story Jake Roberts, he doesn't do much for me as a character i'm afraid. Valuable screen time that could be better used. I would like to see King defeat him at the next PPV and that be that, but I know it won't be. Great to see Yoko make a return; a man who can match the mighty Vader. Great to see Fatu by his side; gives him a big rub. Good edition of RAW, lots of potential with emerging and returning characters, look forward to the next one.

Diesel announcing that he's leaving and setting up a match between him and Shawn Michaels is really good. Looking forward to that for sure. Surprised that Riley O'Finley's first match would be against the WWF Champion, but the disqualification finish was wise. HBK stays strong and Finley looks vicious. The post match stuff with Diesel and Razor was sweet. I always loved the "Good Friends, Better Enemies" name for In Your House so I'm glad you kept that. Making the WWF Title match No Holds Barred should add to it and his match with Razor next week is huge. Solid tag team match as I still love the team of Jarrett and Douglas. Good promo from Owen Hart, awaiting his return. Again, the Waylon Mercy/Mankind pairing is gold. Interesting HHH/Warrior stuff. I like that you've turned it into an actual feud instead of just a WrestleMania squash. Another really good Mankind promo, don't know about him calling The Undertaker by his real name. I get that it's about mind games, but I feel that it kind of hurts the aura of the Deadman. Good tag team match as all four guys are important at this time in the WWF. Love what you've done with Sean Waltman. The Jake Roberts stuff is interesting and gets him a lot of sympathy. I can see Ahmed winning the Intercontinental Title next week. Vader beating Savio was the right move, I love what you're doing with Vader. The ending with Bradshaw, Fatu and even a returning and slimmed down Yokozuna is great! Another solid episode of Raw as you seem to have this time period down well.
Superstars time! I want Superstars on the WWE Network. Sorry, off topic. The New Rockers are struggling aren't they? Oh well, I prefer the Bodydonnas even though they had stupid names. Enjoyed the Camp Cornette promo. I did the "Outlaw" character for Bradshaw as I think it works well. The Patriotism Challenge is a great idea. SLAM OF THE WEEK! The open invitational works well for Jarrett and Douglas as they are being built as great Champions. The Jerry Lawler parody of the Jake Roberts interview was honestly, perfect. Even though I wasn't a fan of Roberts' 1996 run or of Jerry Lawler ever, this is entertaining. Razor Ramon squash is fine. I miss Pay-Per-View Reports although I don't miss Todd Pettengill. Finley getting a win now is great. Again Vader main events. Not sure on that twice in one week, but you are doing good things with him so I commend that. Another solid Superstars and this is one of my favorite diaries going on currently.

THIS IS MONDAY NIGHT REERRRRR! Decent opener with Finley getting himelf disqualified in his match with Shawn Michaels, leading to Diesel hitting him with a Jacknife Powerbomb. I like Razor making the save, too. I wonder if he is walking out too? Diesel vs Razor next week on Raw shall be a good one for sure. Double J and Double D! Good win for them over the New Rockers that will never match the original Rockers of course. Owen is a nugget and he is mad as fried nuggets. Good promo from Waylon Mercy, him and Mankind are a fudunkadunked up duo, that is for sure. Good segment here between Hunter Hearst Helmsley and The Ultimate Warrior, I like how this feud is developing although it is so weird to even think about Triple H in this phase of his career. BEST FOR MAKIND, HAVE A NICE DAY DEAD MAN! Ahmed Johnson and Marc Mero beating Sean Waltman and Steve Austin in a good tag team match, Mero getting the pinfall in his debut was certainly big for him. Especially on Austin, albeit Austin not being too huge yet. Another nice portion of Jake Roberts' interview, I'm looking forward to what comes of it down the road. Haha, Jerry is all mad. Give him some puppies to nibble on and shut him up! Vader beating Savio Vega in the main event really just seemed boring and had to set up for something knowing you and of course, it is Yokozuna! Along with Fatu! A good end to the show and a solid edition of Raw altogether.

WWF Monday Night RAW - May 20, 1996 The Municipal Auditorium - Sioux City, IA
Segment | Description | Timeline | 1 | A video package aired, reviewing the recent events of Monday Night RAW, as it has been a separation of one of the best friendships in the World Wrestling Federation ruined with betrayal fueled by jealousy, greed and resentment between WWF Champion "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. It has also been about the tormenting ways of Mankind and Waylon Mercy, poised to destroy the stigma attached to the Undertaker and his manager, Paul Bearer, seeking to ruin their legacy. And it's also been about advancing up the ladder to success in the eyes of Hunter Hearst Helmsley, seeking to defeat the Ultimate Warrior and put the legend of the Warrior to rest - any way possible! This Sunday these three rivalries climax at In Your House - but tonight, it's all under one roof! The opening video package aired as we cut to the Municipal Auditorium for the final edition of Monday Night RAW prior to In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies live on pay-per-view this Sunday. Vince McMahon alongside Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to the show, touting a big one-hour program tonight as "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel does battle with the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon; the Ultimate Warrior takes on the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw; Ahmed Johnson challenges for the WWF Intercontinental Championship around the waist of Sean Waltman; "Make A Difference" Fatu takes on the British Bulldog in a rematch from two weeks ago; Plus, the return of the King's Court with Jerry Lawler, who will be joined by Jake "the Snake" Roberts! | 00:03 | 2 | The British Bulldog (w/James E. Cornette & Clarence Mason) def. "Make A Difference" Fatu [07:22] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] It was two weeks ago on Monday Night RAW where the uprising star "Make A Difference" Fatu scored a big victory over the former WWF Intercontinental Champion in the British Bulldog, and tonight was Bulldog's chance for revenge. Six days before the Bulldog and the "Mastodon" Vader take on the returning Yokozuna and his cousin Fatu at In Your House, Bulldog and Fatu both tried early on to knock the other man off with hard-hitting moves, Fatu resorting to speed and technique where the Bulldog focused on methodically slowing down the Samoan and working away at the former WWF Tag Team Champion. James E. Cornette and Clarence Mason rooted for Bulldog in the corner, as Fatu was pounded away on, Bulldog targeting the back of "Make A Difference". Luckily, the fans in Sioux City were in the corner of Fatu, cheering him on as he fought out slowly from the Bulldog's bearhug, the intensity of the resilient Fatu setting in; Fatu coming from all angles with splashes and clotheslines for Bulldog! Fatu soon set up for the Samoan Shuffle Kick, but it was Clarence Mason who pulled on the foot of the Samoan, allowing Bulldog to pick Fatu up and drive him into the canvas with the Running Powerslam for three!
The crowd booed as the British Bulldog continued to pound away at Fatu, the Brit still apparently outraged at Fatu defeating him two weeks ago. Clarence Mason and James E. Cornette directed the beatdown, as Bulldog held "Make A Difference" up for Cornette to slap the Samoan across the face, the ball game in Camp Cornette's court! All of a sudden though, the "Mighty" Yokozuna powered down to the ring, Yokozuna getting in the ring as Bulldog, Mason and Cornette bailed! Camp Cornette retreated, when out came the "Mastodon" Vader! The 450-pounder glared at the 500+ pound Yokozuna from the aisle, as Camp Cornette were marking their territory for in six days time! | 00:13 | 3 | Vince McMahon and Jerry "The King" Lawler talked about what had just occurred as Camp Cornette were still seemingly avoiding the "Mighty" Yokozuna, McMahon concluding that at In Your House, there would be no avoiding in tag team action. The two discussed what was still to come on RAW tonight, before the "King" sidetracked, talking about the segment he pulled this past weekend on WWF Superstars, where Jerry Lawler and Harvey Wippleman parodied the "Resurrection of Jake "The Snake" Roberts" interviews, Lawler dressing as Roberts and insulting the born-again Christian with references to his demons of the past. A clip showed this, as Vince called Jerry despicable. | 00:15 | - | Commercial Break | 00:18 | 4 | We returned to Monday Night RAW to see an exterior shot of a rather expensive looking mansion, located in Greenwich, Connecticut - a promo conducted earlier today. Hunter Hearst Helmsley welcomed the viewers to his abode, dressed in a robe with his feet up on the couch. The "Blue Blood" talked about how in six days he will conquer this Ultimate Warrior phenomenon, and put the Warrior to rest. Helmsley ran through recent happenings in their rivalry, which all started when the Warrior got personal and laid his lips on the lips of his valet, Elizabeth Hilden. At that moment, Hilden walked into the room dressed in one of Helmsley's gowns and cuddled her man from behind. Hunter said that the Warrior always has been a boar, a rodent, a miscreant. Which is why he didn't understand the hype behind this former WWF Champion. Hunter said that this is why Hilden got revenge last week on RAW, laying the Warrior out with a lead pipe, allowing Helmsley to plant Warrior with a Pedigree. Helmsley concluded, stating that he's played games with the Warrior and the Warrior has had his fun - but this is the New Generation, and as of Sunday night, the Warrior won't exist within it - the future is all about Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Helmsley pulled Hilden onto his lap and the two kissed obnoxiously for the camera. | 00:19 | 5 | The Ultimate Warrior def. "The Outlaw" James Bradshaw (w/Uncle Zebekiah) in Stage 3 of the Patriotism Challenge [04:19] [+00:03 for entrances] After the comments made by Hunter Hearst Helmsley, it was clear that the Ultimate Warrior would be amped up for this match up tonight on RAW with the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw. Bradshaw had some issues with Savio Vega over the course of the past month, all originating at In Your House - but these will be put to rest hopefully when the duo get it on on the Free 4-All prior to In Your House this Sunday night. Savio Vega personally joined commentary for this match, much to the ire of Uncle Zebekiah at ringside - who repeatedly got in the "Puerto Rican Superman"s face during this bout. Bradshaw wasn't happy to see Vega either, but this was the "Outlaw"s chance to put an end to the shenanigans of the legend from 'Parts Unknown'. The xenophobic Bradshaw tried to slow Warrior down in the opening moments, but Warrior full of energy charged Bradshaw and sent him retreating to ringside not once but twice! Bradshaw soon managed to mount some momentum, pounding away at the former WWF Champion in the corner and delivering a picture perfect suplex for two. The downfall of Bradshaw however was showboating and taking his eye off of the prize, as Bradshaw talked trash to Savio on commentary - and Warrior fired back with several clotheslines, proceeded with the gorilla press slam, following up by the running splash against the back of the "Outlaw", giving the Warrior another win!
The fans came to their feet in the Municipal Auditorium in Sioux City, all fans of the Ultimate Warrior! Warrior paraded around the ring as Uncle Zebekiah attended to the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw. Savio Vega thanked Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler for allowing him to join him, stating that Bradshaw will not know what hit him after Sunday night! Meanwhile, the Warrior seemed to be on the road to getting his hands on Hunter Hearst Helmsley this Sunday at In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies! | 00:26 | 6 | We went to the WWF In Your House report, as Todd Pettingill talked about how In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies is just six days away, live on pay-per-view this Sunday. He talked about the current line-up for the show, headlined by the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels defending his WWF Championship against his former friend, the soon-departing "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel in a No Holds Barred match; in the Tag Match from Hell, the Undertaker and Paul Bearer team up for the first time ever in the ring to take on the "Deadman"s childhood friend turned deranged, Mankind, and his ally, "Father" Waylon Mercy; the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley must put up or shut up when he battles the Ultimate Warrior in a rematch from last month's In Your House; in his pay-per-view debut, the "Wild Man" Marc Mero takes on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin; and in a match several months in the making, Jerry "The King" Lawler challenges the ressurection of Jake "The Snake" Roberts!; plus, on the WWF Free 4-All prior to In Your House, the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw takes on the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega! Todd told us that that's not all though, as just announced and confirmed by President Mr Perfect, it will be the "Mastodon" Vader teaming up with the British Bulldog in Camp Cornette, taking on the "Mighty" Yokozuna and his cousin, "Make A Difference" Fatu! Pettingill then took us to some pre-recorded comments made by Fatu and Yokozuna. In the promo, Yokozuna talked about how he's waited long for another opportunity to get in the ring with Vader, to get his hands on Bulldog and finally put a fist to the face of James E. Cornette! Yokozuna said that he hasn't forgotten what happened to him - but to make this worse, Camp Cornette tried to annihilate his cousin! Fatu talked about how they were raised very differently, but the value is all the same - if you knock one of them down, the other one will fight back! Fatu said that he fought to get revenge for what Camp Cornette did to Yokozuna, and now Yokozuna's back and the two of them this Sunday will give Camp Cornette exactly what they are due for! Pettingill urged us to buy In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, live on pay-per-view this Sunday, before signing off. | 00:28 | - | Commercial Break | 00:31 | 7 | Back live on Monday Night RAW, the red carpet was laid out in the ring, as well as the furniture required for the King's Court, the theme of Jerry "The King" Lawler loudly playing throughout the Municipal Auditorium as the fans booed. His music was muted as Jerry talked about how for months he has taken a target and placed it on the back of Jake "The Snake" Roberts - once, he was one of the best wrestlers to enter the World Wrestling Federation - of course below the "King" - but he was one of the greatest stars in the business! That is of course, until he quit the WWF, became a deadbeat dad to his ugly little kids, became so obsessed with the disorderly life of a junkie - but now he's a born-again Christian, and suddenly everything doesn't matter anymore! Jerry talked about how this Sunday, he plans to finally put Jake out after watching his pathetic, washed up butt try to make a comeback since the beginning of 1996! Lawler continued to rant, before the theme of Jake Roberts hit prematurely, bringing out the veteran! The fans came to their feet for the respected born-again Christian, Jake armed with his Anaconda, Revelations in hand as always. Roberts got into the ring and immediately got in Jerry's face. Jake asked Jerry to repeat everything that he's just said to this capacity crowd to his face right now! The fans cheered, as the "King" seemed shocked by this. Jerry told Jake to calm down, stating that he wouldn't want to upset someone with so much poison in his body that he could have a stroke! Jake cut Jerry off once again, as he talked about how he's heard what Jerry's said, he's felt what Jerry's said, and he's seen what Jerry has said! Roberts talked about how he's been running him down on commentary since he came back - he tries to live a new-found life, he's born-again, he's clean and Jerry does nothing but put him down for it - he's slammed a beer bottle over his skull, he's mocked what was a very sensitive and important interview and ruined him; and the worst of all is that Jerry now wants him to be on his shabby little talk show. "The Snake" glared the "King" right in the eyes and said that he's been watching Lawler, and what he does to him tonight will scare Lawler so much that he won't even see In Your House! The fans erupted, as Lawler seemed startled as Revelations on Jake's shoulder continued to sliver around, hovering near Jerry. In need of some space, Lawler talked about how he's sensing animosity, he knows that this is hard for Jake to realise - but he's just voicing his opinion: and there is nothing that Jake can do to hurt him. Lawler retreated from an empowering Jake, stating that he has a friend of his own, much like Revelations - and that's when Lawler pulled out his rubber snake from Superstars from underneath a stool! Jake seemed to get angrier, as Jerry screeched in the corner - Jake getting so close to Jerry's face with his Anaconda when suddenly an unknown wrestler with short brown hair wearing purple tights attacked Jake from behind! Revelations down, slivering across the canvas near a frightened Lawler - this younger, unknown wrestler picked Jake Roberts up and planted him down with a big full nelson facebuster! Jerry and the youngster hugged it out in the ring, as this man had just saved Jerry Lawler from Revelations and the wrath of Jake "the Snake" - but who was this guy, and what could go down on Sunday!? | 00:38 | 8 | An advertisement aired, promoting WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, live on pay-per-view this Sunday night. | 00:39 | 9 | Jim Ross joined Vince McMahon at ringside for commentary, as Jerry "The King" Lawler alongside the unknown talent that saved Lawler from Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Revelations had allegedly made a getaway from the Municipal Auditorium after what had just happened, as Ross said that he had no idea who the man was that saved "The King", but that he knows for a fact that there will be no running away from Jake Roberts after Sunday night. | 00:39 | 10 | WWF Intercontinental Championship - "The Pearl River Powerhouse" Ahmed Johnson def. Sean Waltman (w/Ted Dibiase) by disqualification; Waltman retains the title [06:29] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] This match was three weeks in the making, as it was Ahmed Johnson taking on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin of the Million Dollar Corporation several weeks ago, in a match that Ahmed had won - if not for Sean Waltman. Tonight, it was about the "Pearl River Powerhouse" gaining retribution on the "Man" of the Million Dollar Corporation, as Johnson seemed extremely poised to take out the former 1-2-3 Kid and take his WWF Intercontinental Championship at the same time. Johnson tried to get in a test of strength with Waltman early on, but the cowardly and wise nature of the champ allowed Waltman to slip away and taunt Johnson further, aggravating the ill-tempered challenger. Johnson soon dove at Waltman with a splash in the corner, pounding away at him and taking him out with a huge powerslam, almost getting the win right there. Johnson was a wrecking ball going forward, as he pounded away at Waltman with Sean managing to slip away several times, including slipping out of a powerbomb and kicking Johnson in the abdomen, before using his educated feet to wisely stun Johnson. With the challenger off of his feet, the WWF Intercontinental Champion tried to keep him down on his back, as the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase watched on curiously. Waltman nailed Johnson in the corner with his crotch-drop, which was pegged as the "Bronco Buster" by Jim Ross, Waltman's confidence soon getting the better of him however, as he showboated to the disapproving Sioux City fans immediately afterwards - just to run into a big clothesline from the challenger! Johnson pounded away at Waltman, a fallaway slam almost sending the "Man" out of the ring; and just like that, Ahmed picked Waltman up and nailed him with the Pearl River Plunge! Ahmed was on the verge of victory, when at the count of two "Stone Cold" Steve Austin dove into the ring and broke up the count! The official had no choice but to call for the bell.
The fans booed loudly in Sioux City, almost seeing a new WWF Intercontinental Champion in Ahmed Johnson, just for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to save his Million Dollar Corporation ally from defeat! Austin put the boots to the "Pearl River Powerhouse" in the ring, Austin then laying into Ahmed with several lefts and rights - as Sean Waltman slowly recovered and went to join in - when suddenly Marc Mero rushed down to the ring, the "Wild Man" trading blows with Austin before Waltman laid Mero out with the Roundhouse Kick! Waltman and Austin left with Ted Dibiase to boos, as Ahmed and Mero remained down on the canvas, the Million Dollar Corporation once again escaping with the WWF Intercontinental Championship intact tonight! | 00:48 | 11 | In the backstage area, Dok Hendrix was shown standing by with the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon, as Razor was moments away from his match with "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. Hendrix asked Ramon for some pre-match comments, as Razor talked about how he's glad that this will be Diesel's last night on Monday Night RAW, because he's been nothing but trouble ever since the start. Their battles over the WWF Intercontinental Championship are memorable, but nothing will compare to tonight. Razor talked about how he's not doing this for Shawn Michaels, he's not doing this to save the World Wrestling Federation - he's just making sure that the WWF Championship will be safe, because in due time, that WWF Championship will be around the waist of the "Bad Guy"! | 00:49 | - | Commercial Break | 00:52 | 12 | "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon def. "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel [07:15] [+00:01 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] With Diesel six days away from WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, the WWF President Mr Perfect was all against the concept of the soon-departing "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel leaving the World Wrestling Federation with the WWF Championship - and in a contingency situation, Diesel was put up against the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon. Though, Diesel's eyes were still focused on the WWF Championship in ex-best friend Shawn Michaels' possession this Sunday, he had to take care of Ramon - which proved more difficult than when Diesel beat Ramon for the WWF Intercontinental Championship back in 1994. Ramon fired away at Diesel with numerous lefts and rights, Ramon poised to knock Diesel's momentum off-balance before In Your House. "Big Daddy Cool" managed to catch Ramon off of the second turnbuckle however, delivering a huge scoop slam on Ramon and soon going to work on the ribs of the "Bad Guy". The fans in Sioux City were cheering for Ramon as he struggled in Diesel's cobra clutch hold - but in due time Razor was back on his feet, just fighting away at Diesel and trying to sway him, and even lift the big man off of his feet. And soon he did just that, as after previously failing to lift the seven-foot, three-hundred plus pounder, Ramon managed to pick Diesel up and slam him with a big body slam! Razor had the fans in the palm of his hands when he went for the Razor's Edge, but Diesel managed to send Ramon over with a backdrop! Diesel seemed to be in position for the Jackknife Powerbomb to loud boos, but that's when the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels came out to ringside, the WWF Champion distracting Diesel! Michaels got on the apron and jumped down, leaving Diesel on the bottom rope arguing with his opponent for Sunday at In Your House, which allowed Razor to come in with a huge Razor's Edge, giving Ramon the victory against the former WWF Champion!
The fans cheered loudly as the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon's hand was raised in victory, Ramon continuing to climb the ladder to the top of the World Wrestling Federation! Ramon celebrated as the "Heartbreak Kid" had a huge smile on his face, the WWF Champion costing his ex-best friend and opponent for In Your House Diesel his final match on Monday Night RAW! | 01:01
13 | We suddenly cut to static, followed by Mankind cradling himself. In a strange series of clips stringed into a vignette, it showed Mankind behind a chain-linked fence, footage of the Undertaker struggling to defeat the deranged Mankind at WrestleMania XII, the attacks by Mankind on the Undertaker, and shots of Waylon Mercy with his hand leaning on Mankind's. Mankind narrated, talking about how he's suffered so much torment, how he's broken bones, torn muscles from the bone, destroyed his own body - but for what? Because he's been waiting for this moment. Mankind told us that on Sunday at In Your House, we would see the ultimate demise of the Undertaker and Paul Bearer. Mankind laughed as an advertisement aired, promoting WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, live on pay-per-view this Sunday night. WWF Monday Night RAW went off the air. | 01:02
| WWF IN YOUR HOUSE: GOOD FRIENDS, BETTER ENEMIES, LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW ON SUNDAY NIGHT! |
|
WWF Superstars - May 25, 1996 The Veterans Memorial Auditorium - Des Moines, IA
Segment | Description | Timeline | 1 | The opening video package for WWF Saturday Morning Superstars aired, as Jim Ross alongside Dok Hendrix introduced us to the show, welcoming us to the Veterans Memorial Auditorium for the final edition of Superstars prior to WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, tomorrow night live on pay-per-view! They talked about the packed line-up this hour has, as the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley takes on Marty Jannetty of the New Rockers; "Stone Cold" Steve Austin takes on the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega; plus, "Make A Difference" Fatu, "the Wild Man" Marc Mero, the Bodydonnas and more, a huge edition of Superstars lined up just over twenty-four hours away from In Your House!
| 00:02 | 2 | "The Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/Elizabeth Hilden) def. Marty Jannetty [05:20] [+00:02 for entrances] Marty Jannetty was stepping up to the plate this morning on WWF Superstars, as the original member of the Rockers took on the man facing the Ultimate Warrior tomorrow night at In Your House, the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Helmsley with Elizabeth Hilden in his corner seemed predictably confident going into this encounter, without even knowing of what could be awaiting him tomorrow night on pay-per-view. Meanwhile, the former WWF Intercontinental Champion had eyes on him, as in the backstage area, his rookie partner in the New Rockers, Leif Cassidy was shown watching on, very excitable to see his veteran partner in action. Jannetty managed to catch the ire of Helmsley early into the match, but that soon changed as Hunter managed to gain control, as Elizabeth Hilden watched on from ringside, appearing extremely seductive in trying to draw the attention of the fans surrounding her - particularly Dok Hendrix. Jannetty attempted to fight back, but it was all for not, as Helmsley connected with a Pedigree, putting Jannetty away.
The crowd booed as the "Blue Blood" celebrated his win, Hunter Hearst Helmsley bowing to the fans and curtsying much to their disapproval. Elizabeth Hilden soon entered the ring to celebrate with the Greenwich native, the two kissing arrogantly over the fallen body of Marty Jannetty, such arrogance for a man about to battle an angered Ultimate Warrior! Meanwhile Leif Cassidy was shown in the backstage area watching on and throwing a temper tantrum over his fellow New Rocker's loss. | 00:09 | 3 | A promo aired with Jake "The Snake" Roberts stood in front of his backdrop, as Roberts wielded his pet Anaconda, Revelations across his shoulders. Jake seemed aggressive, talking about how this match is months in the making for him - a chance to fight off his demons, a chance to show the public eye that the "Snake" is anything but a washed up hasbeen. Roberts continued, talking about how he has had enough of Jerry "The King" Lawler, reminding him, making him relive and feel the pain he went through for all of this years. Roberts talked about how he is about to make a chance, and that it starts tomorrow night and ends tomorrow night. Roberts challenged Lawler to bring his young bodyguard to the dance, because Jake was ready to take him out too. Roberts concluded, stating that tomorrow would be known as the Feast of Revelations! | 00:10 | 4 | An advertisement aired, promoting WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, live on pay-per-view tomorrow night. | 00:11 | - | Commercial Break | 00:15 | 5 |
"Make A Difference" Fatu (w/Yokozuna) def. Carl DeLuc [02:14] [+00:01 for Fatu's entrance; +00:01 for aftermath] The Samoan, "Make A Difference" Fatu was set for action in this edition of Superstars, but he had his cousin alongside him, the "Mighty" Yokozuna in his corner! Fatu and Yokozuna, the two cousins were getting geared up for tag team action tomorrow night at In Your House against their rivals in Camp Cornette, the British Bulldog and the "Mastodon" Vader. Fatu took care of Carl DeLuc quite easily in this display, as "Make A Difference" took care of DeLuc with plenty of shoulder tackles and the Samoan Shuffle Kick, before going up to the top rope and coming off with a huge Samoan Splash, giving Fatu the win! Meanwhile, James E. Cornette appeared in an insert promo with Vader and the British Bulldog, as he talked about how tomorrow night, Camp Cornette end this rivalry with Fatu and Yokozuna once and for all. The Bulldog claimed that he would do the unthinkable and suplex Yokozuna, whereas the "Mastodon" claimed that he would end the "Mighty" Yokozuna's career!
The fans cheered for "Make A Difference" Fatu, as his hand was raised in victory this morning on WWF Superstars. Fatu was suddenly joined in the ring by his cousin however, as the "Mighty" Yokozuna decided to show Fatu how to put away an opponent - dragging Carl DeLuc to the corner, and going up and dropping down with a huge Banzai Drop! Fatu and Yokozuna celebrated, seemingly in anticipation for tomorrow night! | 00:19 | 6 | We went to Todd Pettingill with the WWF In Your House report, as he talked about "Good Friends, Better Enemies" being live on pay-per-view tomorrow night, emanating from Florence, South Carolina. He hyped up the card for the show, headlined by the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels defending the WWF Championship against ex-best friend, the soon-to-be-departing "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel; in what is being called the "Tag Match From Hell", the Undertaker teams up with Paul Bearer for the first time ever to take on his childhood best friend turned enemy, Mankind and "Father" Waylon Mercy; in a rematch from last month at In Your House, the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley plans to make an impact when he takes on the legacy of the Ultimate Warrior; in tag team action, the Camp Cornette members, the British Bulldog and the "Mastodon" Vader take on their arch rivals in the "Mighty" Yokozuna and "Make A Difference" Fatu, in what should be the grudge match; Plus, Jake "The Snake" Roberts plans revenge against Jerry "The King" Lawler; "Stone Cold" Steve Austin takes on the newcomer "Wild Man" Marc Mero; and on the Free 4-All prior to In Your House, the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw takes on the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega. Pettingill talked about the match between "Stone Cold" and the "Wild Man", taking us to some pre-recorded comments from Steve Austin and Ted Dibiase. In a promo in front of the Million Dollar Corporation's background, Austin talked about the arrogance of Marc Mero; how he's come in and done exactly what he pleased - but that's a tonne of disrespect on his back. Austin talked about how Mero doesn't realize what he's getting into when he's across the ring from Steve Austin; knocking out the WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman, no way to respect a champion like the "Man"! Austin vowed to put a rest to the hype behind the "Wild Man", to beat him to a pulp and finish him - and proceed to stomp a mudhole until he is no more. Going back to Pettingill, he urged the viewers to buy what should be a great pay-per-view before signing off. | 00:21 | 7 | The Bodydonnas (w/Sunny) def. David Haskins & Brian Walsh [03:11] [+00:01 for the Bodydonnas' entrance] In recent weeks, the antics of Sunny have really developed, as the blonde bombshell has really come out of her shell - as have her clients, Skip and Zip of the Bodydonnas. The Bodydonnas have been rolling recently, defeating the New Rockers several weeks ago, and allegedly with the WWF Tag Team Championships in their eye sight in the near future. This morning on WWF Superstars, they disposed of David Haskins and Brian Walsh in formulaic fashion, the effective teamwork of the high-speed fitness models coming to use against Haskins - not even allowing Brian Walsh to enter the match! Sunny distracted the announcers particularly from the action inside, as Dok Hendrix complimented her "assets" as she stood in front of the announce table - much to the annoyance of Jim Ross. Skip and Zip quickly put Haskins away with the top rope hurricanrana into a sit-out powerbomb for the win. Meanwhile in an insert promo, Sunny talked about how proud she is of her guys, how they have been working out so hard and giving it their all. Sunny said that one day she hopes to come out to the ring wearing nothing but the WWF Tag Team Championships. What a jezebel!
The crowd booed as the Bodydonnas celebrated their win, Skip and Zip being joined in the ring by the bodacious blonde Sunny, who jumped up and down in her crop top, showing off her body for the fans. Meanwhile, the WWF Tag Team Champions Jeff Jarrett and Dean Douglas were shown watching from a backstage monitor, seemingly taking note of potential contenders to their open invitational! | 00:25 | 8 | A promo aired with the Ultimate Warrior, as the Warrior stood in front of his background - growling about how he has waited for this night, a chance to get his hands on the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and put him out! Warrior talked about how last month wasn't good enough, because the Warriors all across the globe are sick of Helmsley running his mouth, talking trash on all of the working Warriors across the United States, across the United Kingdom, across the entire planet! Warrior talked about how tomorrow night, he has revenge in mind - he will dispose of Helmsley, and the power of the former WWF Champion will reign on! Warrior planned to come after Helmsley hard tomorrow night at In Your House. | 00:26 |
| Commercial Break | 00:30 | 9 | We returned to WWF Saturday Morning Superstars as the theme of the World Wrestling Federation Champion hit, the fans on their feet in the Municipal Auditorium in Des Moines for the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels! Michaels made his way down to the ring and greeted the fans confidently, more positive appearing than recently. Michaels met Jim Ross in the ring, as Ross talked firstly about how Michaels has risen from the lows of his life to the highest of his aspirations, about how he is the man on top of the mountain defending the World Wrestling Federation against all comers. Shawn agreed, talking about how late last year he was in one of the worst positions in his life, he was on the shelf, he was almost retired because of a concussion - but here he is now, living the boyhood dream, and he wouldn't be able to be here if not for his Kliq! Ross asked the WWF Champion about his relationship with "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel, assuming that their period as allies last month against Camp Cornette appeared to be an act of respect from the former WWF Champion to the current WWF Champion. Shawn talked about how he has been through so much from Diesel, he broke Diesel into the World Wrestling Federation, he brought him to WWF gold, the WWF Intercontinental Championship, the WWF Tag Team Championship, and eventually the WWF Championship. Shawn said that Diesel now runs on greed, and that the seven-footer has all of the power. Shawn says that Diesel knows every move that the "Heartbreak Kid" can do and outdo it. Their battles ended with "Big Daddy Cool" victorious, and Shawn could never beat him. But all through that, he realized what Diesel truly was - a traitor, a backstabber, a betrayer! Michaels was applauded as he talked about how it hurts that Diesel is no longer on his side, and that he'll be leaving soon: but it's one mistake Shawn won't make. Like Diesel, Shawn said that he knows everything Diesel can do as well - and he won't allow the "Heartbreak Kid" to be turned into a commodity, a corporate puppet! Michaels declared that tomorrow night, it's Good Friends turned into Better Enemies - and that when the dust settles and the coast is clear, Shawn Michaels will reign supreme, ridding the WWF of "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel; his friendship with "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel; and with the World Wrestling Federation Championship still around the waist of the "Heartbreak Kid"! The Kliq members in the house erupted as Michaels celebrated with his fans, Jim Ross thanking him for his time.
| 00:35 | 10 | The WWF Slam of the Week aired, as it took us back to RAW this past Monday night, as it was Ahmed Johnson challenging Sean Waltman for his WWF Intercontinental Championship - and had it not been for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, the "Pearl River Powerhouse" would have been the new champion. The "Wild Man" Marc Mero attempted to make the save for Johnson just like he did several weeks ago in his first appearance; but the double-team antics of Austin and Waltman of the Million Dollar Corporation led to Mero being laid out in the middle of the ring with Johnson. | 00:36 | 11 | "The Wild Man" Marc Mero def. The Goon [01:48] [+00:02 for entrances] Marc Mero has been a "Wild Man" since he made his debut in the World Wrestling Federation just under a month ago, as Mero has laid an eye on the Million Dollar Corporation - and tomorrow night he puts his impressive undefeated streak up against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - who attempts to avenge the Corporation after Mero knocked out WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman several weeks ago and making a fool out of Austin and the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase. However this morning, Mero had his second match with the WWF against the Goon - a hockey goalie who made his debut on Superstars two weeks ago, in a losing effort to Mero's own ally, Ahmed Johnson. The Goon was once again unfortunate in this match with Mero, as the "Wild Man" outwrestled the Goon with ease and quickly had him in position for the Shooting Star Press, giving Mero a quick victory! In an insert promo, the "Wild Man" Marc Mero said that he had been watching Steve Austin and Sean Waltman with Ted Dibiase for a long time, and he couldn't wait to put pen to paper and sign himself with the World Wrestling Federation; because he's here to make the "Wild Man" a recognized name, and he was coming for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
The fans cheered the "Wild Man" on, as Marc Mero celebrated his victory this morning on Superstars against the Goon. The question now remains, whether Mero can get another win against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin tomorrow night at In Your House. | 00:40 | - | Commercial Break | 00:44 | 12 | We returned to WWF Superstars as Jim Ross and Dok Hendrix talked about how WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies should be an awesome pay-per-view; before reminding us about Monday Night RAW the night after, scheduled to feature the first two matches of the 1996 King of the Ring tournament, where the "Wild Man" Marc Mero will take on the WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman; and the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw will take on the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega in qualifying round matches; plus, the entire fallout from In Your House, live this Monday from 8:57/7:57 only on the USA Network! | 00:45 | 14 | "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (w/Ted Dibiase) def. "The Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega [06:24] [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] The tough Texan "Stone Cold" Steve Austin must have been ready to go this morning on WWF Superstars, as Austin took on the man that has been his rival in recent months, the "Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega, as Vega managed to get the better of Austin in the opening moments of this match. The Puerto Rican seemed to learn from past mistakes not to take any notice of the antics of "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase - Austin getting extremely agitated after being outsmarted by Savio! Vega was rolling, with just over twenty-four hours away from his Free 4-All match with James Bradshaw, who has seriously been getting under his skin in recent weeks, attacking him last month at In Your House. Speaking of which, as Vega and Austin continued to fight it out in the ring, out came none other than the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw and Uncle Zebekiah, seemingly just spectating on Vega as he continued to fight off Steve - but the "Puerto Rican Superman" took his eye off of the ball, getting distracted by the xenophobes' observation - and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin began to pound away and stomp away at Vega relentlessly! Vega finally managed to fire back at Austin, going for a hurricanrana on Austin just to get caught on the top rope. At that moment, Zebekiah got on the apron to distract the referee - allowing enough time for Bradshaw to get onto the apron near Vega and shove him off of Austin's shoulders, a powerbomb connecting! Austin nailed Vega with a jawbreaker, and that was it!
The crowd booed loudly as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin celebrated his win alongside Ted Dibiase, momentum behind Austin one day before his match with the "Wild Man" Marc Mero! Austin talked trash into the camera, as James Bradshaw and Uncle Zebekiah left, impressed with the result. Austin and Dibiase continued to talk trash and celebrate, as Jim Ross and Dok Hendrix talked about In Your House being tomorrow night on pay-per-view. | 00:54 | 15 | We suddenly cut to the Undertaker's gong, as the "Deadman" was shown stretching in the middle of a dark alley. Undertaker talked about how he used to be a wholesome kid, with a rough upbringing. It interchanged into a vignette of Undertaker fighting in streets with random thugs, embracing darkness in the comfort of a cemetary - the "Phenom" continuing to talk about how he had friends, and then he realized he didn't need friends, he needed enemies. And those enemies fueled him to where he is today - the Undertaker. A man that stands back from nobody, that has his own moral codes, and chooses himself what he does with his fellow predators and victims. The Undertaker said that he adopted the dark, that he embraced it - and it made him who he was. Paul Bearer was shown taping his fists sat on a throne, as Undertaker discussed how now was the time to take back, and fight back, and give Mankind and Waylon Mercy hell! Bearer was heard agreeing with a loud, echoing "OH YES!" as an advertisement for WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies aired, live on pay-per-view tomorrow night. WWF Superstars went off the air. | 00:55 |

WWF In Your House 8: "Good Friends, Better Enemies" - May 26, 1996 Florence Civic Center - Florence, SC
Segment | Description | Timeline |
| WWF Free 4-All - Todd Pettingill was the host for the Free 4-All and ran down the line-up. - Diesel was interviewed by Dok Hendrix, who told Hendrix that he planned to take the WWF Championship from Shawn Michaels, end Michaels' career, and put the World Wrestling Federation out of its misery by taking the WWF Championship to a better place. - Jeff Jarrett and Dean Douglas announced their intentions to bring their open invitational challenge to pay-per-view tonight in an interview with Dok Hendrix. - Todd Pettingill attempted to get some comments from Mankind and Waylon Mercy, but instead was greeted with Mankind screaming from the other side of the boiler room door to 'be patient'.
WWF Free 4-All - The Patriotism Challenge - "The Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega vs "The Outlaw" James Bradshaw (w/Uncle Zebekiah) [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] Savio Vega has had enough to hear from the xenophobic James Bradshaw and his uncle Zebekiah in recent weeks. Last month on the Free 4-All prior to April's In Your House pay-per-view, Vega lost a match to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin before being assaulted by the "Outlaw", James Bradshaw afterwards keeping an eye on Vega, seemingly for his Patriotism Challenge - designed to propel Bradshaw up the ranks in the World Wrestling Federation by defeating all superstars born outside of the United States. Vega, the Puerto Rican was not ready to take any of this from Bradshaw however, as he demonstrated in the opening moments of this match, keeping the pacing of the match quick to knock off the larger Texan. Vega used plenty of flying forearms and leapfrogs to dodge the offense of Bradshaw, eventually taking him down with a big dropkick, sending Bradshaw reeling in the corner - almost sending the American into a temper tantrum! From that point James was all business, the tough Texan pounding away at the "Puerto Rican Superman" with a rapidfire of lefts and rights, just raining down on the back and into the head of Savio. The fans in Florence, South Carolina were rooting for the Puerto Rican, as Bradshaw continued the pounding under Uncle Zebekiah's eyesight. Bradshaw had Vega where he wanted him in a sleeper hold - but soon enough Vega started to mount a comeback, slipping out of it and once again upping the pace with a running back elbow, rebounding off the ropes! Both men down, Bradshaw was first to reach his feet, but as the "Outlaw" swung for Vega, the "Puerto Rican Superman" ducked it and caught the Texan with the backslide, almost giving the Puerto Rican a victory - but Bradshaw managed to slip out, and as Vega was a split-second slower to reach his feet, he ran right into the Western Lariat, giving Bradshaw another win in the Patriotism Challenge! "The Outlaw" James Bradshaw def. "The Puerto Rican Superman" Savio Vega [08:14]
The fans in the Florence Civic Center booed as the "Puerto Rican Superman" was out cold as a result of the Western Lariat at the hands of the "Outlaw" James Bradshaw. Bradshaw's hand was raised in victory by his manager, Uncle Zebekiah, as Bradshaw had now defeated three non-American superstars in the World Wrestling Federation! James Bradshaw, one by one proving that the Patriotism Challenge could elevate him to the next level. |
| 1 | The opening video package aired, introducing the World Wrestling Federation logo. Following this, a video package aired as narrated by Vince McMahon, focusing on the 'Good Friends, Better Enemies' theme for this In Your House, between the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and his ever-jealous, ever-bitter ex-best friend, "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. A friendship torn apart based on greed, on jealousy, on desire. With Michaels fulfilling his boyhood dream of being the World Wrestling Federation Champion, Diesel has not wanted Michaels to succeed - and with his contract running out minute by minute, Diesel wanted to make a devastating exit that could end the WWF that we know today - by taking the WWF Championship out of the door with him! It was also about best friends turned enemies when it came to the Undertaker and Mankind - childhood friends, torn apart through adolescence. Mankind has become sinister, twisted, and more importantly, deranged. He seeks out to end the Undertaker and Paul Bearer - and end their mystique. Mankind has tried time and time again to expose the "Phenom", revealing the puppeteer behind this whole orchestration, "Father" Waylon Mercy. Tonight is about thirst, passion and desire - what drives these superstars and what these superstars do to combat their former friends. Tonight, it's In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies! We cut to the live Florence Civic Center in South Carolina, where pyrotechnics went off above the ring in the rafters; the 8,000 plus fans in attendance cheering loudly as Vince McMahon bellowed, welcoming us to In Your House! McMahon was introduced alongside Jim Ross as they hyped this special pay-per-view extravaganza, when suddenly the theme of the "King of Harts" hit! The crowd booed loudly as Owen Hart came down the aisleway in a suit and on crutches to loud boos, Hart having been injured last month at In Your House: Bad Attitudes at the hands of Shawn Michaels in their vicious submission match. Hart joined McMahon and Ross at ringside, as he sarcastically mentioned how happy he is to be here, and not be with Camp Cornette kicking Yokozuna and Fatu's butts tonight! | 00:04 | 2 | "The Mighty" Yokozuna & "Make A Difference" Fatu vs "The Mastodon" Vader & The British Bulldog (w/James E. Cornette & Clarence Mason) [+00:03 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] This match has been coming for a long time, as it all began earlier this year when the "Mighty" Yokozuna was kicked out of Camp Cornette, an alliance he was associated with for over two years alongside the British Bulldog - in exchange for the "Mastodon" Vader. Vader has been a wrecking ball ready to strike at will, destroying the ankle of former WWF Champion Bret "Hitman" Hart and even the ankle of the sumo, Yokozuna himself! At the same time, "Make A Difference" Fatu has revealed his association with Yokozuna, and targeted Vader, fighting him and being the recipient of multiple beatdowns at the hands of Camp Cornette - until two weeks ago on Monday Night RAW when Fatu's cousin Yokozuna made a surprise return - all leading to this big tag team match. The cousins born on the Isle of Samoa came out to the ring ready for combat, as two men in black seemed to stand out in the front row upon their entrance. The two big men dressed in black wore shades, as they seemingly glared at Yokozuna and Fatu from behind the guard rail, but they did not pay one bit of attention to the two gentlemen. Vader and the British Bulldog seemed prepared for this match, as Bulldog started off with "Make A Difference", the two men having traded victories over one another in recent weeks. Fatu managed to get the better of Bulldog early on, pounding away at him and cornering him, allowing the 500+ pound Yokozuna to tag his way into the match - the two cousins showing chemistry as Fatu gorilla pressed Bulldog right over Yokozuna's knee! The former two-time World Wrestling Federation Champion laid into Bulldog with multiple chops in the corner, the sumo with a bandaged ankle laying into the former WWF Intercontinental Champion with stiff lefts and rights! However the involvement of Clarence Mason and James E. Cornette at ringside distracted him, allowing Bulldog to stomp into the previously broken ankle of Yokozuna, Bulldog getting the big man to his knees, the Bulldog just going to work on the ankle of Yokozuna! After talking trash to ignite the crowd in Florence, the Bulldog tagged in the "Mastodon" Vader, and the place erupted with boos! The "Mastodon" came in to do more work over the ankle of Yokozuna, the same ankle he broke himself six weeks ago on RAW. The "Mastodon" repeatedly stomped away at it as the WrestleMania XII rivals then began to slug it out, Yokozuna limping onto his feet - the two trading blows before Vader once again got the upper hand, targeting the bandaged foot of the "Mighty" one!
Vader proceeded to body slam Yokozuna to the awe of the fans in attendance, as Owen Hart rooted for Vader to finish the job on Yokozuna from commentary. Fatu meanwhile tried to get the fans to revive the visibly hurting sumo, the fans clapping along with the Headshrinker. Vader and Bulldog were consistent with their tags as Bulldog amazingly managed to lock on a single legged Boston crab on Yokozuna, as the 500 pounder cried out in pain, Bulldog applying more and more pressure on the previously shattered ankle! However just as Yokozuna began to move more towards the bottom rope, Bulldog chose to drop the hold, and instead stomp away at it some more! Cornette and Mason were loving it at ringside, as Vader was tagged back in - the "Mastodon" grabbing Yokozuna's foot, but amazingly the former WWF Champion reached his feet, and came out with a massive enzuigiri to the back of Vader's head! The "Mastodon" hit the canvas like a ton of bricks, as Yokozuna slowly but surely made the tag to his cousin! Fatu darted in and met the groggy Vader in the center, Fatu with numerous chops and lefts and rights, before connecting with a huge kick to the gut - followed up with a flying forearm off of the ropes! "Make A Difference" knocked Bulldog off of the apron, before Fatu continued to go after Vader, nailing the "Mastodon" with a huge Samoan Shuffle Kick! Vader stumbled into the ropes, and Fatu nailed him with a second one! Vader went down, but as Fatu covered, Bulldog broke it up! Bulldog and Fatu then traded blows, but "Make A Difference" got the upper hand, a Samoan drop for the Bulldog! But that's when Vader came from behind, a huge body block sending Fatu down. Vader stomped away at the Samoan, when suddenly Yokozuna arose and slid back into the ring, bad ankle and all - as Yokozuna and Vader traded blows! Bulldog got the blind tag from Vader, as Yokozuna and Vader continued their brawl out to ringside. Bulldog met a groggy Fatu in the ring and went for the Running Powerslam, but Fatu managed to slip out, and "Make A Difference" nailed Bulldog with the Samoan Shuffle Kick! Fatu decided that it was time to go up high, as he mounted the top rope and went for the Samoan Splash...just for Cornette to crotch him! As Yokozuna continued to fire into Vader at ringside near the guard rail, Bulldog reached his feet and used his outstanding strength to lift the 300 pound Samoan off of the top rope onto his shoulder, and the Bulldog came down with the Running Powerslam for the ill-fated victory! The British Bulldog & "The Mastodon" Vader def. "Make A Difference" Fatu & "The Mighty" Yokozuna [11:28] *3/4
The crowd booed as the British Bulldog slowly reached his feet, Bulldog's hand being raised in victory when suddenly the "Mighty" Yokozuna came from behind, Yokozuna firing away at Bulldog with lefts and rights! Bulldog attempted to rebound by raking the eyes, Bulldog trying to gorilla press the 500 pounder: just for Yokozuna to outweigh Bulldog's strength, and crush Bulldog beneath him! Bulldog rolled out of the ring clutching his ribs as Yokozuna slowly reached his feet - Yokozuna aiding to his fallen cousin Fatu in the ring, as Camp Cornette decided to leave! Bulldog was left clutching his ribs with Clarence Mason and James E. Cornette by his side - the "Mastodon" Vader meanwhile screaming at Yokozuna and Fatu from ringside. | 00:19 | 3 | In the backstage area, Todd Pettingill was shown outside of the boiler room, as Pettingill mentioned that he has already attempted to get a word from the "Deranged" Mankind and "Father" Waylon Mercy on the WWF Free 4-All earlier tonight, just to get turned away with Mankind screaming at him to "be patient", and so he is here to request some comments from the dangerous duo one more time. Pettingill steadily approached the boiler room door, knocking on the door and declaring his intentions for a brief interview before the Tag Match from Hell tonight. Mankind could be heard screaming on the other side of the door again, this time yelling that he'd told Todd once and he'll say it again, to be patient! Mankind was heard screeching behind the door, as Pettingill said that he would try again later tonight. | 00:20 | 4 | We went to the dressing room of none other than Jerry "The King" Lawler, as he stood beside the man that helped him attack Jake "The Snake" Roberts, dressed in blue tights sporting spiked brown hair. Lawler talked about how he has waited so long for tonight, to humiliate Jake Roberts. Lawler talked about how he cannot wait to dish out the demons that Jake has tried to block out for so long, and put a rest to this bogus "Resurrection of Jake Roberts". Lawler said that he knows how many are wondering who the man beside him is, and that what he did to Roberts last Monday on the King's Court was unprovoked and unnecessary - but it's all about the man that laughs the loudest, not the longest unlike the hasbeen Jake "The Snake"! Jerry said that the man to his right is his own flesh and blood, someone with all of the potential in the world, all of the future skills of a true King, like himself - his son, Brian Christopher! Christopher spoke out, talking about how he's been watching Monday Night RAW, and he's seen all of these things Jake has said and done to his old man. Christopher talked about how he doesn't like that Jerry is being treat by this old user, this old addict - which is why he did what he did. Brian said that he is ever so proud of his father, and that tonight, he plans to watch Jake Roberts perish at the hands of the "King"! | 00:21 | 5 | "The Wild Man" Marc Mero vs "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (w/Ted Dibiase) [+00:02 for entrances; +00:02 for aftermath] Following the debut of Marc Mero to the World Wrestling Federation last month, the Million Dollar Corporation have attempted to teach the newcomer a lesson in respect - particularly after Mero has put his hands on the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase and has even knocked out the WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman. Waltman was nowhere to be seen tonight, but Ted Dibiase was as he accompanied "Stone Cold" out to the ring as normal; Austin looking as serious as he could be, determined to get a pinfall victory over Mero after being pinned by the "Wild Man" on two consecutive meetings throughout the past month. Mero meanwhile seemed quite confident going into his first pay-per-view outing against Steve Austin, Mero starting off with some wildfire offense against the more experienced Austin, Marc Mero with hiptosses and right hooks flying everywhere in the direction of "Stone Cold", causing him to bail down into the corner. However this soon led to become Mero's biggest mistake, as Austin pulled on the hair of Mero and sent him into the turnbuckle face-first, as Austin soon let Mero know he meant business, chopping him repeatedly before putting the boots into the mid-section of the "Wild Man". Austin shouted abuse at Mero, as he delivered a gutwrench suplex, quite quickly targeting the abdomen with several forearms across it, followed by a waistlock. Austin continued to squeeze away at the waist of Mero, shouting abuse in his opponent's ear before Mero quickly rolled out of it and nailed Steve with a big dropkick to the jaw! Austin went down and rolled out to the ringside area, when Marc was quick to follow up with his offense with a huge senton over the top rope, landing down on the shoulders of the Texan! The fans in Florence were big supporters of the "Wild Man" in this one as he clapped for the fans' support in attendance whilst Ted Dibiase watched on in disapproval across from the dueling duo. Mero tried to follow up with further offense, but Steve managed to cut his momentum short as he dragged Mero, propelling him into the guard rail face first! The sneaky rattlesnake was out to prove a point to the "Wild Man", that point being that there is only room for one of them in the World Wrestling Federation, and that getting in the way of the Million Dollar Corporation is not a smart move to make. Austin gorilla pressed Mero abdomen first over the guard rail, once again targeting the ribs of Mero as Austin also continued to punch and kick away at the gut of the "Wild Man" as well. Sean Waltman was shown watching on from the backstage area in anticipation, as he seemed to be quite proud of his ally Steve Austin going to town on the man that knocked him out on live television several weeks ago in an embarrassing moment for the WWF Intercontinental Champion.
Austin was going right to work on the ribs once again, Austin proving exactly why they call him "Stone Cold", an abdominal stretch applied by the Corporation member. Mero was struggling as he tried to mount a comeback against Steve, but the sly tactics of the Texan disallowed Mero from getting back into the match; Austin repeatedly using the top rope for leverage with the referee's back turned. Austin continued with his approach, but Mero had the South Carolinian fans behind him, as Marc slowly but surely managed to escape the hold and fire back with a huge clothesline! Mero pounded away at Austin, showing his Southern handed skills with countless body shots - but once again Austin managed to cut Mero off! Steve Austin was raked the eyes of the "Wild Man", before sending Mero into the ropes and coming off with a big knee to the gut of the newcomer! Austin continued to pound away at Mero but he once again tried to make a comeback, a right hook stunning Austin and sending him into the corner: but this time Mero darted and went for a running knee to the face of Austin - but the Texan dodged it and Mero landed gut-first on the top turnbuckle! Mero draped over the top ropes in the corner, Austin took the time to repeatedly kick and punch away at the ribs of Mero, furthering the damage to the "Wild Man"s midsection! Austin then went back to the abdominal stretch, using the top rope for leverage and all - but after a minute or two of this technique, the referee finally noticed Austin's illegal tactics, kicking the hand of Austin from the top rope and allowing Mero to get Austin in a cradle for a near fall. Both men back up, Mero used everything he had in him to fight back with a dropkick, a hurricanrana and a forearm smash into the face of Austin! Mero was rolling as Ted Dibiase began to get angry at ringside, the "Million Dollar Man" trying to pull the foot of Mero through the ropes, just for Marc to kick him in the jaw! Mero caught Austin with a scoop slam and tried to go to the top rope - but Dibiase was waiting for him on the apron, just to get booted to the ground once again! Austin tried to join Mero on the top rope, trying to get in position for a superplex, but Mero managed to nail Austin with the right hook boxing punch, knocking Steve down and out on the canvas, much like his ally Sean Waltman! Mero went to the top rope, and came off with a beautiful Shooting Star Press, scoring the victory in his pay-per-view debut! "The Wild Man" Marc Mero def. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin [13:56] ***
The fans in Florence set alight as the hand of Marc Mero's was raised in victory, the "Wild Man" clutching his abdomen after suffering so much torment throughout the match, but Mero was victorious in his first pay-per-view appearance in the World Wrestling Federation. Ted Dibiase was distraught, looking on from ringside as the "Million Dollar Man" attended to a knocked unconscious "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, helping him out of the ring. Mero tried to leave and head up the aisle, which is when he came face to face with the WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman! An arrogant Waltman wearing a bandana got in Mero's face over his win tonight against ally Steve Austin, as Dibiase tried to restrain Waltman from Mero, the two in each others faces intensely, a fight sure to break out between these two men. Dibiase finally succeeded in pulling Waltman away alongside a barely conscious Austin, but Mero seemingly wanted a piece of the WWF Intercontinental Champion. | 00:39 | 6 | Last month was a first for the World Wrestling Federation, as the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, a superstar of the New Generation squared off with a superstar of the former generation in the Ultimate Warrior. The two were set to clash at In Your House last month, but the bout was cut short when Helmsley appeared to cower away from Warrior, getting himself disqualified for bringing a steel chair into the equation. The Warrior fired back and came out on top against Helmsley, but he still wanted more of the Greenwich snob. A rematch was set for In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies, and in recent weeks Helmsley has shown more determination than ever to get the job done this time around against the former World Wrestling Federation Champion; even having his apparently innocent valet Elizabeth Hilden use a lead pipe to allow Hunter to get the better of the Warrior. But tonight we will see who will come out triumphant, as the Warrior and the "Blue Blood" meet for a second round. | 00:41 | 7 | "The Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/Elizabeth Hilden) vs The Ultimate Warrior [+00:02 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] This has been the night that the Ultimate Warrior has been looking forward to for weeks, the former torchbearer of the World Wrestling Federation having gone through a lot to combat the quirky, sinister antics of the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and his mistress, Elizabeth Hilden. After appearing to be an innocent young woman at the side of Helmsley at every show, Hilden has exposed her seductress side in recent weeks, having blindsighted the Warrior with a lead pipe on RAW. It was this event which led to Hunter perhaps getting the best outcome of a beatdown he has ever had in his career, following up with a huge Pedigree on the Warrior. But tonight, there would be no playing around with the maniac. Warrior was here to fight, and he would not let Helmsley get away with it, darting to the ring straight off the bat in typical Warrior style. Warrior was pumped up and ready to brawl, whereas Hunter Hearst Helmsley seemed a lot more confident and took his sweet time approaching the ring to get ready for combat. Helmsley stalled repeatedly, as he brought a steel chair out with him for Hilden to sit on, before having a conversation with her before the match. This would finish quickly however, as the Warrior came from behind and nailed Helmsley with several lefts and rights, kicking the fight off quickly! Hunter tried to weasel into the corner, but Warrior was right on him where he delivered two or three more right hands, then sending Helmsley across the ring into the other corner, where Warrior followed suit - just for Helmsley to use the top ropes to propel backwards over Warrior's head. Hunter's arrogance was on display however, as he curtsied to the fans for his wise maneuvering, just to wind up getting clotheslined by Warrior one more time! The former World Wrestling Federation Champion was on a roll once again this month at In Your House, as Helmsley fell into the waiting arms of Elizabeth Hilden at ringside. Helmsley stalled at ringside, the "Blue Blood" trying to regain his composure with Hilden by his side, when this time the Warrior was not wanting to waste much time! As Warrior slowly approached Helmsley, Hunter decided an immoral tactic, using his valet Hilden as a shield to Warrior! Helmsley shoved Elizabeth into the arms of Warrior, before blasting the maniac with a huge high knee! Warrior stumbled to the floor, as Helmsley curtsied once again whilst helping his valet to her feet. Helmsley delivered several shots into the head of Warrior, kneeling over him as he did it before wisely rolling into the ring in an effort to get Warrior counted out. Warrior was groggy at ringside, whilst Helmsley had the referee distracted - allowing the villainous Hilden to slap Warrior right across the face and talk trash to him!
The Warrior seemed more motivated by this however, as he quickly got back into the ring before getting counted out. Helmsley tried to keep on top of the Warrior with an axe handle wrenched over the back of the Warrior's head, but Warrior soon got back up and caught Hunter off-guard with an overhead back body drop! Warrior went to follow up with some punches in the corner, climbing up to the second rope to do them: but after four or five punches to the temple, the Greenwich native picked Warrior up and stealthily deadlift spinebustered Warrior hard onto the canvas, getting a near fall! Hunter was visibly fed up of Warrior already as he disrespectfully stomped on Warrior and attempted to set up for a Pedigree: Warrior not agreeing however and almost back body dropping the "Blue Blood" - just for Hunter to land right behind Warrior on his feet and catch him with a neckbreaker, again getting two. Hunter Hearst Helmsley was bringing more fight to the Warrior than any one man had since his resurrection, as Hunter quickly grabbed a chin lock in an attempt to restrain the Warrior. Helmsley kept Warrior tightly in the hold, as the fans in the Florence Civic Center were backing Warrior and trying to keep him alive. The "Blue Blood" kept the chin lock grasped, but Warrior tried to make a rise to his feet, just for Helmsley to change the hold into a full-on sleeper hold causing the veteran to flop back to his knees. But the fans in Florence were rabid, and Warrior rose up once again, picking Helmsley up and slamming him to the canvas, landing on top of him! The Warrior slowly got back to his feet, as Helmsley did as well, Warrior catching Helmsley right in the corner with a big clothesline taking Helmsley down to the canvas, as Warrior bounced off of the ropes and nailed an incoming "Blue Blood" once, and then again, before for a third time taking him down with a clothesline! Warrior was a house on the fire and the fans in attendance were eating it up! Warrior went to go for the gorilla press - but Hilden got on the apron, shouting at Warrior! Helmsley meanwhile slid off of Warrior's hands, landing behind Warrior on his feet - to which Hunter tried to run off the ropes at Warrior. Helmsley went for another high knee, but the Warrior ducked and Helmsley sent Hilden sailing off of the apron! Warrior then got Helmsley up on his shoulders and into the air, slamming him down with a gorilla press! Warrior darted off of the apron, splashing down onto the back of Helmsley, giving Warrior the decisive victory! The Ultimate Warrior def. "The Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley [10:06] **1/4
Florence, South Carolina lit up as the theme of the Ultimate Warrior hit, and Warrior's hand was raised in victory on top of the "Blue Blood" Hunter Hearst Helmsley! Warrior celebrated standing tall, as Helmsley rolled out of the ring in a groggy, defeated state. Warrior shook the ropes and the turnbuckles as he celebrated to the roars of the eight thousand fans in attendance. Helmsley meanwhile got into words with Elizabeth Hilden, as Hilden proceeded to slap the Greenwich native across the face and storm off! Hunter tried to chase after his seemingly now ex-valet - but the bigger story here was that Warrior was victorious over Hunter Hearst Helmsley! | 00:54 | 8 | An advertisement aired, promoting the next pay-per-view event, WWF King of the Ring, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, June 23, 1996. | 00:55 | 9 | We returned to the Florence Civic Center, as the theme of "Double J" Jeff Jarrett hit. Vince McMahon alluded to the fact that we were to be joined by the WWF Tag Team Champions Jeff Jarrett and Agent Dean Douglas for the next installment of their open challenge. With that, out came Jarrett and Douglas dressed in the light-up jackets that they are known for, strutting their way down the aisle to the ring. Jarrett and Douglas got into the ring, where an acoustic guitar was shown propped up, Douglas meanwhile grabbing a microphone from ring announcer Howard Finkel. Douglas talked about how they arrived in Florence for another challenge to their WWF Tag Team Championship, talking about how they have dueled it out with the so-called best that the World Wrestling Federation have to offer, and now they seem to have ran out of competition! Jeff Jarrett was tuning up the guitar, as the Agent talked about how the WWF management told them to show up in Florence tonight for In Your House just to find out that nobody bothered showing up wanting a piece of them - so what more an appropriate way to go than to go with a live performance courtesy of the popular country musician himself, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett! The fans booed, as Jarrett talked about how the song he was about to sing went out to all of the winners out there, and for all of the cowardly other tag teams in the world today that have allowed him to take the time to perform for the people tonight in Florence! The fans booed louder and louder as Jarrett was all set to begin when...the theme of the Smoking Gunns hit! The fans cheered as Billy and Bart Gunn emerged down the aisleway, dressed in jeans and cowboy boots, seemingly ready to kick some butt! The former WWF Tag Team Champions headed for the ring quickly, having not been seen in three months - Billy and Bart slipping into the ring to fight with Jarrett and Douglas and accept their challenge, but Jarrett and Douglas instead decide to quickly leave the ring! The WWF Tag Team Champions were running with their tails between their legs, denying the returning Smoking Gunns their opportunity at the open challenge laid out by Jarrett and Douglas themselves! The Smoking Gunns were back, and hungry for the titles they lost several months ago. | 00:59 | 10 | In the interview section backstage, Dok Hendrix was shown standing by with Jake "the Snake" Roberts who was getting prepared for his upcoming match with Jerry "the King" Lawler. Hendrix asked about the head games Jerry has been playing with him in recent months, and if they were reaching a boiling point with Jake. Roberts commented that an individual like Jerry Lawler seems to enjoy hiding, whether it be behind his announce table with Vince McMahon or whether it be behind his new found ally in Brian Christopher. Roberts said that the thing about the "Snake" is that no matter how low he can go, with his demons and his drinking - there is nothing that can save Lawler from the power of his new found faith in the Lord and Savior. Jake said that for too long has Jerry been slanderous, provocative and offensive towards him, and tonight, whether Lawler wants to put him out of his misery or shove his old ways down his throat - one man will prevail and when the bell sounds, there will be one man standing, and one man on the floor. And the one man on the floor will be covered in his pet, Revelations. | 01:00 | 11 | We returned to the Florence Civic Center, where Jerry "the King" Lawler's theme was playing, Lawler coming down to the ring alongside the man who took out Jake "the Snake" Roberts last Monday night on the King's Court, Brian Christopher - who allegedly Lawler has no relation to. Jerry however did not say anything, instead Brian Christopher told the fans in Florence to show some respect for the "King", how he deserves to be seen and how it should be a luxury for the fans in South Carolina to even watch the graceful Jerry Lawler in the ring! King meanwhile was coughing and visibly silent, as Christopher continued to talk trash about Florence, South Carolina before moving on to the topic of Jake "the Snake" Roberts. Christopher said that whilst the "King" has fallen ill and cannot compete, there is one replacement that is stopping Roberts from having an easy pay day for beer money. Christopher continued to talk about how Roberts loves booze so much, he's probably already ready to go out for the count, courtesy of this debutee superstar in the making - the greatness that is Brian Christopher! Lawler nodded in agreement, as he got on the microphone upon getting to the ring. Lawler was audibly croaky in his deliverance, as the "King" talked about how he was so ready to beat Roberts back out of sobriety, but unfortunately fate has caught him off-guard. Lawler says that because of the flu, he will not be able to compete - but instead his friend Brian Christopher will substitute him! Lawler said that it pains him that he cannot fight Jake tonight, because he would love to put him back in rehab - or the bar, whichever came first! Lawler said that he has total faith that Christopher will manage to get the win here tonight, and if he doesn't then Jerry will when he is back to 100% - that is if Jake isn't back in a hospital bed seeking help from the beating of Brian Christopher! Finally, the theme of Jake Roberts hit, and out charged the "Snake", armed with pet Anaconda Revelations, ready to beat some respect into Christopher! | 01:03 | 12 | Brian Christopher (w/Jerry Lawler) vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts (w/Revelations) [08:22; +00:02 for aftermath] After having the "King" in his side ever since he made his return to the World Wrestling Federation, Jake Roberts has been ecstatic about tonight - the chance to finally get his hands on his biggest critic. But in typical fashion, Lawler has once again decided to get out of the match - putting his ally Brian Christopher in there against Roberts instead! It drew memories back to Lawler's feud with Bret "Hitman" Hart, where he hid behind many obstacles - but nonetheless, "the Snake" was here to fight, and that's what he did as he started off with several strikes to an adamant Christopher off the bell. Lawler joined commentary, where his voice had suspiciously returned to normal forcing the announce team to question the condition of "the King" - who claimed that Brian Christopher is as hungry as the next superstar in the back, and wanted to make a name for himself by putting down Jake Roberts tonight. Christopher laughed similarly to Lawler as he went on the offense, wrenching away at the arm of Jake before taking him down with a snapmare into a hammerlock - quickly targeting a limb early into this match. The rookie was perhaps too confident however, as Jake quickly mounted a comeback connecting with a kitchen sink knee to the abdomen of Christopher before taking him down with a big clothesline! "The Snake" teased getting Revelations out of his bag, but at that moment Christopher fled, running into the arms of Lawler on commentary! Brian pleaded with Jerry, as "the King" instructed Brian to stop being such a yellow belly - which is when Jake Roberts came out of the ring and pointed the Anaconda at both Lawler and Christopher causing Lawler to flee into the crowd and Brian to duck out of the way in search of cover! Jake put Revelations down on the announce table causing Owen Hart to observe the snake whilst meanwhile Christopher made another comeback, sending Roberts into the steel steps. Christopher proceeded to roll Roberts back inside of the ring, then yelling "I'll make you proud, Jerry!", all whilst "the King" attempted to return to the announce table with the Anaconda still slithering around. Christopher had the crowd booing at him as he slowly went up to the top rope; Christopher extending his arms in an overconfident, slow motion - and that's when he dove off the top rope and Jake moved - Christopher getting nothing but canvas off of a diving leg drop! Brian held his derriere whilst the wily veteran slowly got back to his feet, rocking Christopher with a haymaker; followed by a second - and Jake then forced Christopher into the corner, throwing punch after punch into the jaw before the official had to get in there and restrain Jake - and just when the "Snake" was being reprimanded by the official, Brian Christopher came out of the corner and nailed Jake right between the eyes with a superkick; Brian covering just for two as Jake kicked out! Brian was getting more and more angry than before, as the cackling turned to grunting, Christopher then picking Jake up and going for what appeared to be a full nelson slam - Jake slipping through and connecting with a swinging neckbreaker! Jake was back on the rise, nailing Christopher with more right hands; Roberts wrenching Brian's arm into a clothesline before Jake began to signal for the DDT! The lively crowd in Florence lit up for the veteran; the born-again Christian getting Christopher ready for the DDT just for Jerry Lawler to get on the apron trying to interfere! Jake tried to reach for Lawler with his free hand but Jerry caught it and dragged Jake out of the DDT hold - allowing Brian to capitalize, connecting with a full nelson bulldog on "the Snake"! Brian then hooked the leg and proceeded to score a huge upset victory in his upset debut! Brian Christopher def. Jake "the Snake" Roberts [08:22] **
The fans booed loudly as Brian Christopher quickly got up off of Jake Roberts' carcass, jumping up in the air in an extremely enthusiastic fashion; the newcomer with a huge victory over a veteran in Jake "the Snake" Roberts - all because of Jerry "the King" Lawler's tricks! Jake remained down, as Jerry climbed into the ring with a bottle of Jack Daniels; Lawler laughing in cooperation with Brian! Vince McMahon noted the similarity in facial appearance between Jerry and Brian, as Jerry held a microphone. Lawler laughed as he spoke, declaring that once a drunk, always a drunk! Lawler talked about how he knew Jake was all washed up, but now that he's started to dry off, he's looking a little ill again. With that, Jerry removed the lid of the whiskey bottle...and proceeded to pour it all over the face of the "Snake"! The fans booed loudly, as Owen Hart applauded Jerry on dousing the respected veteran in alcohol! Jake was left in a puddle of whiskey, as Jerry and his ally in Brian Christopher began to leave, further mocking Jake "the Snake". | 01:13 | 13 | In the backstage area, Todd Pettingill was shown standing by with the World Wrestling Federation Champion Shawn Michaels, not long before his upcoming title defense against his good friend, better enemy - "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. Shawn began by talking about how it's been a rollercoaster ride of a WWF Championship ride so far. Michaels noted that he's been attacked, he's almost had his career ended - again; and now he's being attacked by his friend and having his career threatened by a man that plans to sabotage the World Wrestling Federation by leaving with the belt. Shawn told Diesel that he doesn't know what's going on in his mind, nor has he for a while. But for his own good, the "Heartbreak Kid" told Diesel that tonight he would receive an asskicking like no other. Michaels said how Diesel has always been looked at as superior, all because of his size - but tonight in No Holds Barred, size does not matter - and Diesel will not only be on a one way ticket out of New York - but on a one way ticket to the hospital. | 01:14 | 14 | From there we went to the boiler room, where one Mankind lurked as usual. Mankind approached the camera through the mist and the glow from the furnace behind him, the deranged one almost panting sadistically as he said that he was going to take us on a trip down memory lane. Back when they were friends, when they were young. How mean he was to him - for Mankind to become so sadistic. For Mankind to become so broken. Mankind talked about how Uncle Paul Bearer used to show him respect - but that was a long time ago, and now he is in the way of him. The deranged one continued, stating that he meant every bit of it when he attacked the "Deadman" back at the Royal Rumble. He meant every bit of his assault back at WrestleMania XII. And now, with the new found love from Father Waylon Mercy, tonight in the Tag Match from Hell - the Undertaker and Uncle Paul will rot away together, and it will be a beautiful catastrophe. | 01:16 | 15 | We cut to a video package narrated by Todd Pettingill, reviewing the personal rivalry between the Undertaker and Mankind; former childhood friends, turned visceral as Mankind claims, the Undertaker abandoned him selfishly. Mankind claimed that the Undertaker was an arsonist, burning the funeral parlor his parents, Paul Bearer and he lived in. Mankind blamed the "Deadman" for his deterioration into madness and sadism, and has been on the warpath to aiming to destroy the Undertaker's life forever ever since the Royal Rumble. But back at WrestleMania XII, despite victory being the "Phenom'"s, Mankind came back, assaulting Undertaker brutally with a baseball bat - and later introduced WWF fans with a shocking arrival to his family - Waylon Mercy. Together, the two devised a plan which ended up tricking the Undertaker and Paul Bearer into a tag team match tonight at In Your House. Billed the "Tag Match From Hell", there truly will be no stopping any of these three men - and without any experience, Paul Bearer will surely have to watch out for himself. Good Friends, Better Enemies is what the Undertaker and Mankind are - but tonight who survives the Tag Match From Hell? | 01:18 | 16 | The Tag Match From Hell - The Undertaker & Paul Bearer vs Mankind & Father Waylon Mercy [+00:02 for entrances; +00:04 for aftermath] Mankind has been counting down the days to get his hands on the Undertaker - but not just that, but to also get his hands on the throat of his former beloved Uncle Paul as well! Somewhere in the deranged mind of Mankind, he has found hatred for everything the Undertaker has touched - perhaps out of jealousy, anger or both; Mankind just wants to torment. And with what's left of his left ear being preached into by Father Waylon Mercy, it was sure to spell disaster as Mankind came out and cradled at the feet of a bowing Waylon Mercy. Meanwhile, the arrival of the "Deadman" was unlike no other, Undertaker bringing a presence of destruction in the path before him as expected - though Paul Bearer, dressed as only Bearer can, appeared fearsome of Mankind and Mercy's upcoming bout with them momentarily. Mankind however was summoned to attempt to jump the Undertaker on the ring apron, as 'Taker rose the lights, immediately coming to blows as the "Deadman" climbed into the ring, trading frightful blows with the deranged man - Waylon Mercy and Paul Bearer meanwhile taking corners. The two friends turned bitter enemies who fought at WrestleMania two months ago were going at it all over again, as Mankind whipped Undertaker into the corner, but 'Taker immediately charged out of the corner, planting Mankind with a flying lariat! The "Deadman" had the fans in Florence behind him, as Undertaker was relentless in firing left and right, the ambidextrous fighting style of the Grim Reaper coming through. But Mankind continued to squeal like a pig, as Undertaker forced him into the corner and nailed him with an elbow. Undertaker continued, firing away at Mankind before sending Mankind across the ring and through the ropes; the mentally impaired Mankind quick to roll back in the ring, almost welcoming the Undertaker's punishment. Paul watched on gladfully, whilst the urn sat below his feet on the steel steps; meanwhile Waylon Mercy continued to try and direct Mankind from the apron afar. Undertaker began to wrench the arm of Mankind, but he immediately fought out with a cheap right. The masked man connected with a multitude of headbutts for the Undertaker's cranium, almost targeting the previously shattered orbital bone of the "Deadman". Mankind has stated he has studied the Undertaker and been watching him for years - and here he wasn't kidding, connecting several legdrops on the face of Undertaker in similar vain to King Mabel last summer. The deranged one tagged in Waylon Mercy, Mercy quickly pacing in and repeatedly stomping away on the face of the former WWF Champion - but despite this, Undertaker sat up! Mercy then proceeded to tackle a reviving 'Taker, pounding away at him and even choking the "Deadman"! The pace had changed, as Mercy and Mankind quickly made tags in order to take turns in punishing the "Phenom". Despite the furthering offense of Mankind however, he and Waylon Mercy continued to refuse to go for a tag, and soon the Undertaker had suffered a tiny cut to the forehead, the Undertaker meanwhile reviving and reviving despite the punishment received by Mankind and Mercy.
Mercy delivered a backbreaker to Undertaker - but he sat up again. This time, Mercy delivered a neckbreaker, but Undertaker immediately sat up again! On the third attempt, Mankind came in and stunned Undertaker with a clothesline, and Mercy immediately followed up with one of his own; a neckbreaker from Mankind taking Undertaker down! The two then focused their attack on the hairline cut of the "Deadman" - and now Paul Bearer was really getting concerned for the "Deadman"s well-being. Mankind kept pointing at Uncle Paul, telling him that this is what he would get if he crossed him once again - before Mankind went back to the Undertaker, tossing him out to the floor! Father Waylon was there to meet him this time, as Mercy attempted to pick Undertaker up for another beating, just for Undertaker to fight him off with numerous uppercuts - but Mankind came out of nowhere with a baseball slide sending Undertaker sailing into the announce table! The masked man, eager to follow up picking a stunned 'Taker up and attempted to deliver a Piledriver on the floor - just for 'Taker to flip Mankind off of him! Mankind hit the floor, and a big boot sent Waylon Mercy down once again as well! Undertaker then picked Mankind up and sent him back inside: the "Deadman" delivering a sidewalk slam for the deranged rival of his! Meanwhile Waylon was coming back inside as well, this match essentially a handicap match for the "Deadman" - but Mercy ate a Chokeslam courtesy of the "Phenom": Undertaker planning to do the same to Mankind, but he headbutted Undertaker in the nose one more time! Mankind then applied the Mandible Claw to loud boos, as Undertaker tried to fight it by placing a hand around the throat of the deranged one, but the demented Mankind kicked 'Taker in the leg and tightened the hold on the Mandible Claw! Undertaker was fading, and Mankind knew it - Father Mercy watching and laughing maniacally from the bottom corner! Undertaker was fading more and more, but as 'Taker hit the floor, Waylon Mercy got into position: behind Paul Bearer. Mankind used the limp hand of the "Deadman", as Waylon Mercy forced Paul Bearer's hand forward. The tag made. Paul Bearer was now the legal man among an unconscious Undertaker, and two demented human beings in Mankind and Waylon Mercy! Bearer looked terrified as Mercy forced the manager of the "Deadman" into the ring. Mercy pointed out the work done to Undertaker; his forehead cut, the damage done; laying unconscious on the canvas. And that's when Paul broke free of Mercy's grip, delivering a kick downstairs to Mankind, purposely and thankfully ending this match! Mankind & Father Waylon Mercy def. The Undertaker & Paul Bearer by disqualification [10:37] *3/4
The crowd booed loudly at the disqualification finish, but Paul Bearer was terrified and had to find an out. Unfortunately, it wasn't going to end well for him regardless. Paul was grabbed in a sleeper hold by Waylon Mercy, which is when Bearer kicked Waylon downstairs as well; but a groggy Bearer walked right into a clothesline from Mankind! "It didn't have to be like this, Uncle Paul!", screeched Mankind as Vince McMahon voiced disgust in this situation. Mankind grabbed Paul by the hair as Waylon watched from the corner; then choking away at Bearer! Paul was being laid out, as Mankind applied the Mandible Claw, Paul Bearer quickly going out like a light; Mankind and Waylon Mercy being the victors in this match! But alas, the Undertaker finally arose - perhaps too late - and the "Deadman" got to his feet, quickly trading blows with Mankind one more time; Mercy attempting a blind attack just for Undertaker to grab Mercy, delivering a second Chokeslam! Undertaker and Mankind continued to trade blows, with Mankind sent off the ropes and right into a big boot! Waylon summoned Mankind to bail from the fight, and that's when he did; the damage however done. Undertaker wiped his cut and attended to Paul Bearer, all whilst the synonymous piano symphony of Mankind played, Mankind screeching again that this was not over between he and the Undertaker! And from the look on the "Deadman"s face after seeing Paul Bearer unconscious on the canvas after the attack from Mankind - he knew it too, and there would be hell to pay for Mankind. | 01:32 | 17 | A trip down memory lane was coming next. Narrated by Jim Ross, a video package took us back to 1993 where the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels was moving up the ranks as WWF Intercontinental Champion, when one day he introduced a bodyguard in "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel. The best of friends, Diesel and Michaels were inseparable, having each others' back through the worst of times - however something changed when Diesel won the WWF Championship in November 1994 after breaking away from Michaels. The two went on to show their friendship once more, but soon Diesel became bitter, destructive - but more importantly all about the money. After Diesel had lost the World Wrestling Federation Championship to Bret Hart at the 1995 Survivor Series, he changed even more. When Shawn Michaels won the WWF Championship from Bret Hart at WrestleMania XII, that's what set the big man off. One month ago, Diesel was fighting side by side with Michaels against the clutches of Camp Cornette - but then he turned his back on the "Heartbreak Kid". Announcing his intentions to leave the World Wrestling Federation: and not only that, but with the WWF's top prize, the WWF Championship in hand - Michaels would not stand for it. But Diesel assaulted Michaels when asked to explain himself - and now "Big Daddy Cool" has said he wants to end the career of the "Heartbreak Kid" as well. Tonight, two good friends grow further apart as they battle for the WWF Championship in a No Holds Barred match! | 01:34 | 18 | WWF Championship - No Holds Barred - "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels (c) vs "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel [+00:03 for entrances; +00:01 for aftermath] The World Wrestling Federation Champion has not met a single person in competition since winning the title back at WrestleMania XII who has given him a run for his money. And in his good friend turned better enemy, "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel was no different. Diesel went in there looking discontent as usual, almost uncaring, wandering into combat with the "Heartbreak Kid" with No Holds Barred at stake, and the future of the WWF Championship at stake. Diesel, whose contract was noted as expiring on June 1 started by staring down the much smaller champion, even shoving his former running buddy, which set Michaels off in firing back with furious lefts and rights, Michaels even tackling Diesel with a flying forearm just to get sent back down to the canvas because of the malicious size of the seven footer. Diesel proceeded to wait for his opponent to get to his feet, as Michaels did valiantly, charging Diesel again with a right hand, just for Diesel to toss him down again. But Michaels rolled to his feet, fighting back at his larger opponent with several right hands; Diesel this time with a knee to the gut, pounding on the back of the skull of Shawn Michaels, but Michaels kept in the fight, HBK with more lefts and rights directed at Diesel, but "Big Daddy Cool" sent Michaels through the ropes to the outside, the challenger following and quickly gorilla pressing the champion chest-first over the announce table; all to the applause of Owen Hart on commentary. The "King of Harts" commented how Michaels was probably still hurting after the previous assaults made by him, but Vince McMahon denied. And despite Diesel swinging for Shawn, he ducked and came back at Diesel with several lefts and rights, then stunning Diesel with a flying forearm right into the jaw this time; Michaels quick to roll back into the ring and strut around the ring grabbing the applause of this Florence crowd! Shawn waited for Diesel to return to his feet momentarily, which is when the WWF Champion decided to climb the top rope, toppling Diesel to the floor again with a crossbody; Diesel down again, and the "Heartbreak Kid" proving why he is the "Showstopper"! The cocky champion was not waiting for his new adversary this time, a Lou Thesz press on the champion, raining down punches on the challenger until "Big Daddy Cool" punched Michaels off, Diesel more slow to return to his feet, just to meet Michaels with a big boot to the jaw! Michaels fell like a bullet had hit him, and Diesel was now on the offense. Dragging his opponent into the ring, Diesel taunted the crowd in Florence Civic Center. He picked Michaels up and delivered a sharp elbow to the jaw again, focusing all of his offense on the head-region of Michaels. The former World Wrestling Federation Champion was just teasing Michaels as he picked him up and fireman's carried Michaels into the top turnbuckle; once again impairing the head of the "Heartbreak Kid". Diesel grinned now, placing a boot on the chest of Michaels, just for Shawn to kick out at two. Diesel knew that he had to do more, which is when he picked Shawn up by the hair and delivered a big right hand; but Shawn fired back with a right hand, then a left hand - but Diesel was in position, another cheap knee to the gullet of the "Showstopper". The challenger pursued Michaels further, whipping him into the ropes; but Michaels ducked on the rebound; bouncing off the ropes behind "Big Daddy Cool" and delivering a big crossbody, but Diesel was only stunned momentarily by it; and that's when Shawn went up to the top rope, the "Heartbreak Kid" known for his aerial prowess; but Michaels dove off the top with an axe handle caught by a body punch by the much larger opponent! Owen Hart talked about his encounters with both men, talking about Michaels' unfortunate reign so far; outnumbered by Camp Cornette, tampered by his injuries, betrayed by friend; and that tonight he claimed the reign would end.
Diesel delivered a sidewalk slam on Michaels, covering him but for a near fall again! The WWF Champion, who had a eight year long journey to where he is today showed resilience, and Diesel was becoming more annoyed by his former friends' will to live. "Big Daddy Cool" decided to pick Michaels up, a fireman's carry position headed for the corner; but Michaels slipped out, and kicked Diesel low with a low blow kick! Diesel suffered from it, and Michaels delivered a flying forearm finally taking "Big Daddy Cool" down! Shawn nipped up, still feeling the effects of the beating taken already, as the champion without giving Diesel a chance to get up came off the second rope with another splash, covering Diesel but for two again. Shawn was on the offence now, as Diesel tried to quickly get to his feet; Michaels ducking a right hand and delivering an inverted atomic drop - then when the challenger stumbled backwards, Michaels caught him with a flying clothesline; taking both men over the top rope to the floor! The fans in Florence were firmly in support of the "Heartbreak Kid", but when he turned back to his opponent, Diesel grabbed Michaels by the hair and sent him into the guardrail across from ringside! Michaels flipped the railing and collapsed into an aisle in the crowd, which is when Diesel slowly regained his energy; taking the time to argue with fans in the front row; before grabbing Michaels by the hair again, and gorilla pressing him right over onto the ringside mats! The challenger was once again in control, a big frown on his face. Diesel noticed Michaels stirring and trying to get back to his feet, which is when Michaels kicked the leg of Diesel and made a dash onto the ring apron; the World Wrestling Federation coming off with a huge springboard crossbody onto Diesel; the two collapsing on top of the announce table! Owen Hart was visibly disturbed, but when he appeared to be closing in on the champion, Shawn turned around sharp and stared down his previous rival! Owen acted startled, as he showed off his cast; a result of the match with Shawn for the WWF title at last month's In Your House. Michaels turned back however, and Diesel quickly snatched Michaels and picked him up; dropping him hard through the announce table with a Jackknife Powerbomb! Equipment flew everywhere, as Vince McMahon appeared extremely concerned for the WWF Champion's health! Shawn wasn't moving; but Diesel appeared relentlessly, shoving down a cameraman and telling Vince to stand down! "Big Daddy Cool" glared at Vince, telling the announcer that he was going to leave the World Wrestling Federation with "his" title; the lines in reality becoming blurry. Diesel meanwhile dragged the carcass of Michaels, still motionless, as he placed Shawn in the ring, covering the champion; but Shawn kicked out one more time! Diesel looked to be in a state of disbelief this time; unsure how Shawn could have survived such a devastating Jackknife Powerbomb right through the broadcast table! Vince and Owen were forced to stand now, their table in shambles and there not being any monitors around to watch the action. "Big Daddy Cool" motioned the slit-throat, then symbolically prepared for the Jackknife Powerbomb to hopefully end the match: but when he got the champ up in the air, Michaels reversed through with a hurricanrana! Diesel rolled out of it and slowly returned to his feet; Shawn Michaels delivering a huge Sweet Chin Music! Diesel fell through the ropes though, and Michaels attempted to catch him, but for not! The challenger was out cold on the outside floor, and Michaels was unsure how to react. Diesel slowly began to move, as Shawn tried to reach for him through the ropes; which is when "Big Daddy Cool" came back with a steel chair shot to the skull of Shawn Michaels! The Dudes with Attitude were certainly dead now, as Diesel had used the equalizer; the steel chair in this No Holds Barred match, and appeared to be moments away from successfully leaving the World Wrestling Federation with the WWF Championship! Diesel grinned now, as he crawled back inside the ring, covering the body of Michaels - but Shawn kicked out again at two! Diesel was getting more and more worked up now; the heart of Shawn Michaels showing he had the heart of a champion, full of tenacity - as Diesel then motioned one more time for the Jackknife Powerbomb. Diesel picked Michaels' body up one more time, ready for the Jackknife - but the former World Wrestling Federation Champion hoisted Michaels up too high and Shawn slipped out, the current WWF Champion slipped out onto his feet - Diesel turning and eating Sweet Chin Music! Diesel wouldn't fall down though, as he fell back into the corner; Michaels following up with a second superkick - and this time, Diesel fell down hard! Michaels collapsed on top of the challenger, and that was it! Michaels had beaten his good friend turned bitter enemy! "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels def. "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel [19:32] ****
The Florence Civic Center came unglued as they applauded the victory of Shawn Michaels! "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel had lost his final match to the "Heartbreak Kid", his contract expiring in six days time - and almost was able to leave the World Wrestling Federation with the WWF Championship around his waist! Michaels was a wounded champion as he slowly stumbled to his feet, the aid of Earl Hebner the official; as the "Showstopper" once again had proved why he was the man on the mountain, and the World Wrestling Federation Champion! Owen Hart tried to argue with Vince McMahon over Michaels' valiant performance, as Shawn celebrated by posing for the big crowd in Florence, In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies going off the air. | 01:59 |
| Dark Match - "The Bruiser" Riley O'Finley vs Duke "The Dumpster" Droese [+00:02 for entrances] "The Dumpster" has been watching the newcomer, Riley O'Finley from afar since his debut one month ago - and been impressive the entire while - remaining undefeated by pinfall or submission despite taking on opponents, including a choice encounter with World Wrestling Federation Champion Shawn Michaels on Monday Night RAW. O'Finley had commented on how he wanted to take out the garbageman in the past, but when Duke approached the ring, he tried to show the Irishman that he wouldn't go down easily. Droese threw numerous punches in the way of O'Finley; starting off strong before suddenly being cut off by "the Bruiser". O'Finley mockingly outwrestled "the Dumpster", including a takedown sequence where he proceeded to nip to his feet and stomp away on the head of Droese! O'Finley transitioned back into his hard-hitting, brutal European style from that point, delivering numerous hard chops to Droese and working the neck in particular. Known as a submission specialist, O'Finley has developed a habit of making his opponents tap out in unique ways; but Duke wouldn't go down without a fight; attempting to fight back just for O'Finley to strike his way out of it, a harsh headbutt to the face of the "Dumpster"; before O'Finley applied some kind of STF cravate, forcing Droese into quick submission! | Dark Match - WWF Intercontinental Championship - "The Pearl River Powerhouse" Ahmed Johnson vs Sean Waltman (w/Ted Dibiase) [+00:02 for entrances] The "Pearl River Powerhouse" has had an impressive couple of months since making his pay-per-view debut last November at the 1995 Survivor Series - but tonight he was getting one of his first championship opportunities - the chance to claim the WWF Intercontinental Championship from Sean Waltman of the Million Dollar Corporation. Waltman was accompanied by the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase as always, but still he appeared reluctant to step in the ring with the massive Ahmed. Waltman finally did, and Johnson quickly caught a diving lariat attempt; Johnson tossing Waltman around with the fallaway slam! Johnson continued his roll with a diving splash, which once again Waltman kicked out of. Sean tried to escape Ahmed, running around the ringside area; but that allowed Dibiase to get in Johnson's path - and this infuriated Ahmed; who grabbed the hair of the "Million Dollar Man" - just for Waltman to baseball slide right into the challenger. Waltman brought Johnson back into the ring, but Ahmed quickly fired back with a huge clothesline for the WWF Intercontinental Champion! Ahmed set up for the Pearl River Plunge, but Ted Dibiase got on the apron to distract the referee. Ahmed connected with the Pearl River Plunge, but the referee was with Dibiase! Meanwhile, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin slipped through the crowd and into the ring; nailing Ahmed Johnson with a sit-out jawbreaker! Austin placed Waltman's hand over Johnson's chest before bailing, and Sean Waltman had escaped once again with the victory! Sean Waltman def. "The Pearl River Powerhouse" Ahmed Johnson to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship [06:37] |

| Dark Match - "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon vs Jerry "The King" Lawler (w/Brian Christopher) [+00:03 for entrances] After the hijinks which got "the King" out of his match earlier on at In Your House with Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Jerry Lawler came out once again with Brian Christopher by his side, talking about how he couldn't believe how easily he fooled everybody on pay-per-view. Jerry insulted members of the crowd, before calling Jake Roberts an idiot and an alcoholic. Lawler continued to open his mouth - which was met by the theme of the "Bad Guy" Razor Ramon! Ramon made his way down to the ring, and Lawler told Brian that he would handle this by taking Razor to school right now. Ramon hit the ring and clotheslined both Lawler and Christopher, before sending Christopher bailing to the outside! Ramon began to clobber away at the "King", delivering a fallaway slam and the Equalizer before getting Lawler ready for the Razor's Edge! Lawler was out of it and ready for the ride when Brian Christopher charged at Ramon; Razor simply delivering a big back body drop on Brian! Christopher rolled out to the floor again, and Razor took Jerry up, slammed him hard with the Razor's Edge, and that was it for the "King"! "The Bad Guy" Razor Ramon def. Jerry "The King" Lawler [04:26] |

Hey, it's Dan again! I don't want to be a Peter Dinkalage and not reply to you, or try and reply to you without catching back up on this. So, I'm just going to comment it is good to see your buttocks back, in your niche of the 90s, and I'll give you a full reply to IYH once I look back on things and get back on track:

THE CHEAT SHEET Written by Marc Pearson on Monday, May 27, 1996
- In the aftermath of what is becoming known by insiders as the "Curtain Call" incident which took place last weekend at the house show in Madison Square Garden, higher ups have been very vocal about the disrespect shown by members of the Clique. As reported last week, WWF Champion Shawn Michaels, his on-screen rival Diesel, Razor Ramon, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and WWF Intercontinental Champion Sean Waltman broke kayfabe by hugging it out in anticipation of Diesel's leaving the World Wrestling Federation on June 1st. Regardless of the things said by members of the locker room opposite the Clique, as well as members of staff (namely, grizzled road agents such as Sgt Slaughter, Pat Patterson and Tony Garea), everything that happened at the In Your House event went as originally planned. There have been no enforcements of punishment or discipline displayed as of yet - however that may change with the RAW taping tonight running television through to late June.
- Almost as expected, the Ultimate Warrior is unsatisfied with his run thus far in this tenure of his career in the World Wrestling Federation. Warrior returned at WrestleMania back in March, although has been reportedly hard to work with on the storyline with Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Perhaps understandly, given his star power - being kept separate from the WWF Championship scene. However this could be intended, preparing for a big money match down the line between Warrior and say, Shawn Michaels - or on the other hand, not wanting the two to touch each other at all in fear of a political war between Michaels' camp and Warrior.
- The World Wrestling Federation presents the 1996 King of the Ring pay-per-view live on 6/23/1996. The card is as follows: - The King of the Ring tournament finals - TBA.
- With June coming up, the annual King of the Ring tournament is upon us - the following are the bracket fixtures for the opening qualifying round beginning tonight on Monday Night RAW and continuing onto Tuesday's Superstars taping. - Riley O'Finley vs Razor Ramon - Jake Roberts vs The British Bulldog - Marc Mero vs Sean Waltman - Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs Fatu - Goldust vs Duke Droese - Ahmed Johnson vs Jerry Lawler - Tatanka vs Steve Austin - James Bradshaw vs Savio Vega
- As a favor to James E. Cornette in the fallout of Smoky Mountain Wrestling's closure late last year, the World Wrestling Federation has signed referee Brian Hildebrand to a contract. Hildebrand recently worked several shows in Extreme Championship Wrestling, and has wrestled as a professional wrestler in 'Kowabunga' - a masked get-up similar to that of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
- Brian Christopher, the talent who debuted as an ally of Jerry Lawler in his rivalry with Jake Roberts last Monday night is actually Jerry's son. Brian, aged 25 with eight years of wrestling experience under his belt, was trained by his father and prior to his on-screen debut had appeared both as an enhancement talent on WWF television and competing regularly in the USWA - which is essentially Lawler's territory. The USWA is the WWF's go-to promotion to scout new talents for the main roster.
- Yokozuna continues to lose weight, having lost 40lbs during his month away from television. As of now, Yokozuna appears to be taking a stance in a tag team with Fatu - their family heritage as cousins being played up in recent weeks. The feud with Camp Cornette appears to be concluded however; it is yet to be seen where the tag team division will go moving forward.
- WWF Monday Night RAW received a 3.4 rating this week, increased from last week's 3.3. Meanwhile, WCW Monday Nitro scored a 3.8 rating, boosted coming out of last weekend's Slamboree pay-per-view. Coming out of In Your House, it should be interesting how RAW does on the flipside.
- WWF Monday Night RAW this past week aired on 5/20/1996. In results from the show: - The British Bulldog def. Fatu - The Ultimate Warrior def. James Bradshaw - Ahmed Johnson def. Sean Waltman by disqualification; Waltman retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship - Razor Ramon def. Diesel
- WWF In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies was held last night from Florence, South Carolina. In results from the show: - Vader & The British Bulldog def. Fatu & Yokozuna - Marc Mero def. Steve Austin - The Ultimate Warrior def. Hunter Hearst Helmsley - Brian Christopher def. Jake Roberts - Mankind & Waylon Mercy def. The Undertaker & Paul Bearer by disqualification - Shawn Michaels def. Diesel to retain the WWF Championship in a No Holds Barred match

God damn, I was bad at getting to this wasn't I? Well, I'm getting to it. So SHUT UP. Anyway, skipping past the Free 4 All, we go straight ot the show where The British Bulldog and Vader beat Fatu and Yokozuna - The Mighty Make a Differencers? Bulldog getting crushed after the match was comical. Next up, the yet-to-be-top-dog Steve Austin takes a loss to Marc Mero. Kind of disappointing personally, but I understand. Sean Waltman getting in Mero's face was intriguing. The Ultimate Warrior going over Hunter Hearst Helmsley was fine for all, I'm just curious as to what you're gonna do with Warrior going forward. #HHHGetsBuried. #Irony. Lawler allegedly has no relation to Brian Christopher. Allegedly. Brian actually managing to beat Jake was surprising to me, but I was cool with it as we're making Jake look like a total bitch. He'll definitely get his revenge down the road, though. The Tag Match from Hell going to a disqualification was a fine decision with Paul Bearer kicking Mankind in the Cactus Jack and Dude Love! Ha, see what I did there? Got 'em. This feud is definitely far from over, Mankind having said so himself! Kevin Nash, er, I mean Diesel being a CM Punk rip off and threatening to walk in to WCW with the WWF Championship made for this main event to be intriguing, but a predictable victory for Shawn Michaels. I loved how it truly was good friends, better enemies and fit the name of the event and Shawn winning was the best outcome. Anyway, a pretty fun IYH event with the main events taking shine.
There, I finally got to it, you blimey bloke!

Here one minute gone the next, 98 one day, then NXT then 96....
Stop teasing us Danny Boy and stick around!
IYH was a decent card. Bradshaw and Vega would be a decent match I think. Hurts seeing Austin lose to Mero but I get it just hope with KOTR looming you kick off the Austin phenomenon.
Don't like the Mercy/Foley pairing and for whatever reason couldn't get into the tag match here.
11 minutes for Warrior/Hunter, jeez!
Main Event would have been ace, good story. Right decision. Wonder what happens next? If there is a next....
Dan hopefully you'll be back full time soon with a diary you can really sink your teeth into.
