First Time in the Line vs. Flashbacks in elite collection

There havent been alot of new guys on the WWE roster worthy of getting a elite figure. Most of the basic ones of new guys are shelfwarmers except for maybe Divas. They havent really been giving out very many legends deals so I wonder if we will continue to get as many in the Flashback part of the line as we have been in 2014.

Yes, but there hasn't been an Elite set with four "First Time in the Line" figures since the first months of the line. So, averaging it out or not, it's still annoying to current roster collectors that we can't get some of the ancillary characters in Elite form. I wish there was a mid-line of Elite articulation but no accessories where we could maybe get some of them.

Theres 6 right there. Maybe we can get a few Elite series with a tag team in them? We got DX an Hart Dynasty in one series, Kofi and Bourne, Bryan and Kane. Hahaha pretty sad that tag teams get the shaft in Elite treatment.

I wish there were 8 figures per set...2 guaranteed FB, maybe 3 maineventers aka money makers (ex. Cena, Rey, Ryback) & 3 lower mid card guys in Elite form (ex. Jinder, Cesaro, Truth, Kofi, Drew, Slater,)

Hawkins, and the Usos and I'd be happy for first time elites. We also need a Kidd, not a first timer but still.

I'd like more of both to be honest.

Having Elites of the Uso's, PTP, E&P, Otunga, Jinder etc..... Would be awesome.

Having FBs of Magnum, Windham, Faarooq, Tito, Doink, NAO, APA, Hollys, Buckland and redos of M$M and Piper etc.... Would be even more Awesome!


Mattels choices over the next few series seems to be improving.

I think this is true. Unfortunately, when they made lower card guys, I snapped them up and loved them, and yet they warmed like hell, so guys like us on the forum who love those figures are in the minority. Flashbacks on the other hand have not and probably will not warm like the likes of E3 Santino, E4 Finlay, E5 Kozlov and Chavo, and E6 Shad did. I'm okay with it, I really like basics, possibly moreso than elites, but I understand the frustration, especially if you only collect Elites.

What I hate more than anything is the unwillingness to try things twice by Mattel. SDCC exclusive flopped? Never Again. Legends Flopped? Never again? Matty Collector Flopped? NEVER NEVER NEVER. That is a terrible philosophy for a toy company to have, but then again, the suits at Mattel are biggest of the big business types, and they want the most maximized profit margins of any toy manufacturer. And we just have to play.

It seems that we all know the reasons why Legends didn't go over, and one of those is quickly disappearing. Remember the Jakks stalwarts that said "I'll never buy a Mattel figure"? Every week I see threads saying "I used to be a Jakks guy but the Mattel bug bit me." When you get those guys onboard, you shed off inane and arbitrary rules like "No current roster guys!", and you make iconic attires, then you have the recipe for the Legends line to stand a chance again. It used to be you had to spend money to make money, and now everyone everywhere has the "I'm only doing the bare minimum that I know will sell."

these things all flopped because they introduced them too early. People were still fumbling around with Jakks when The legends line hit. I think they would all do very well now, 3 years into the whole thing. I'm willing to bet there are twice as many collectors now than when they canceled the legends line. It's shocking to see how much some of the loose legends go for. You know what that means? There's still money to be made.

Mattel doesnt make anymore money off a $100 Kane on Ebay than the original price at which the store bought it's portion of it's case from. I don't understand how they say E21 AJ lee's paint made the company bankrupt, when Each store gets 1 maybe 2 cases of each set, and has the same basics for months on end. Not to mention 2 weeks after those comments ESPN announces Wrestling figures as the #1 profitable Action figure line in the US.

When Jakks and wwe were making stuff, They would get the same set in 3 or 4 times before the next sets came in. Now if you miss the flashback at a store, you're doomed, it's never coming to that store again. wtf.

out of 27 flashbacks......only 10 are from the attitude era (and thats including WCW figs)


thats less than half. So saying that attitude era flashbacks are the majority, isn't true.


also there were at least 4 attitude era figs in the legends line
