Well, I for one agree with you on some of the stuff you have said, but the thing is - when it is not promoting kid friendly stuff, it just sports that it isn't WWE fault for the kid to be watching, but the parents fault if they are watching something that is promoting to an older demographic. Now I'm not saying all kids will not listen and still continue, but at least then it wouldn't be WWE that is getting stones thrown at them. I'm guessing you're very young and you don't remember the attitude era, but what you're saying is silly. WWE got a lot of stones thrown at them when the show was TV-14. Far more than they do today. Children will always watch wrestling and copy what they see -- all WWE can do is minimise that damage, with the don't try this at home campaigns and acting somewhat responsibly with the TV content in the modern era. That's why the less blood/fire/vehicular assault/guns/blades on the show, the better. Plus, I'm guessing you only started watching around 2009, but the secret that nobody talks about is that every long-term fan who complains about PG was complaining about wrestling for years before it even went PG. Just like bringing back Rock, bringing back Brock, pushing Punk, pushing Bryan, hiring various ROH guys, having longer matches and no storylines, etc etc... All of these things that people on the Internet say wrestling should be doing, they happen, and the same people still hate it. There is no quick fix to making people who hate wrestling like it again, even when you give them what they ask for. The hatred for PG and three-hour Raws is just idiots who hate wrestling now, but can't stop watching, and so they look for scapegoats to blame instead of just watching something else on Monday nights. PG doesn't make wrestling bad. Bad writing and/or bad performers make wrestling bad. exactly agree about the IRC. RAW went 3 hours to develope stories better, and have the occasional longer match. i, for one, don't see why the hardore IRC guys have so much sand in their vajayjay's for. you give 'em what they want, and they piss and moan anyways. and yes, WWE plays the "don't try this at home" to cover their buttocks. TNA and ROH, that i have seen, don't.

PG doesn't make wrestling bad. Bad writing and/or bad performers make wrestling bad. Yes I am very young(16) I have heard of some of the cases, like the one kid back in like 2000 that killed like a 3 year old by preforming a wrestling move. I didn't start watching till 07, but before then I was truly anti-wrestling. But what I am saying is that when the product is pushing itself more to kids and then something like this now happens, it's harder for WWE to explain themselves other than saying we have those "Don't try this at home ads" while if this wasn't all targeted at kids, WWE wouldn't get many of these cases - and would be easier to explain. Sure they'll get the swearing and what not stuff, but wasn't that something that was not truly an issue since they had the censored versions on the Saturday and Sunday programmings. I have no complaints for Raw being three hours(I know you're not implying this on me) but when it originally started a lot of time had been wasted on it, but I must admit that now they are making good use of the three hours.

It is part WWE's fault. They make Rey, Kane and Sin Cara masks. The kids are hardly going to wear them and not attempt to wrestle.

"Our product isn't for kids" isn't going to be a viable scapegoat in the media's eyes. They're still going to pigeon hole wrestling, and WWE specifically, regardless of what the rating is. If a child wants to watch the show, they'll find a way to watch the show, regardless of whether or not it's TV-PG or TV-14. If a child wants to replicate what he sees on TV, having an edgier, adult-oriented product is not going to change that. These cases usually come down to one of two things - parenting, or mental instability in the perpetrator, which, in many cases, can be linked back to parenting. WWE cannot escape being used as a scapegoat, no matter what they do or how they portray their product. Without going in to detail, because it isn't what this thread is about, WWE's shift to a more family friendly style of programming is just simply better for business. It helps their public image to a certain extent, and it taps into lucrative sponsorship opportunities.

Bad taste, I know In all honesty though, where were the parents when this was happening? At 13 years of age you should not have to look after anybody, not even a sibling. Also, if WWE dropped the PG rating, kids shouldn't technically be allowed to watch it. Just sayin' One last though, how can it be classed as "WWE moves" when TNA is also very popular.

Just when RAW was getting good this past Monday.. I hope this news won't make them change any story directions and make things even tamer than it already is....

The media loves to run stories like this because pro wrestling is an easy target. It wouldn't get the same attention if a kid watched the Olympics and injured someone with a lateral drop. No one would be saying the Olympics is culpable and shouldn't exist. Obviously, this is a case of an intellectually impaired and/or disturbed 13-year-old who wasn't being given the proper supervision.

All it would have took was for this kid to say "I was doing Power Rangers moves" .... Then we wouldn't be having this thread drag out and they could pull all that damn power rangers crap from the shelves that provide hiding spots for scalpers when I'm looking for Mattel figs...
Or... The kid could've said UFC while wearing an affliction shirt. Easier to blame UFC, that shizz is real and they could've banned affliction shirts.
Either way, the mom should be questioned. She could've put her son up to it for all we know.... Crazier stuff has happened in today's world.
