TNA No Surrender opened with the playing on the U.S National anthem as it’s the fourth year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers.
Video played starting off looking at how the U.S will show no surrender in their war against terrorism before the video turned to show how the TNA roster will show no surrender in their fight to prove they are the best, in their fight to win TNA titles and in their fight to headline TNA Bound for Glory. Video included clips of everyone in tonight’s Total Elimination Main Event plus TNA champion, James Storm before finishing on a close up of the top contender to the TNA title, the undefeated Samoa Joe!
Jeremy Borash and Shane Douglas in the studio overlooking the arena welcomed everyone to the last Pay per View before the biggest night of the year TNA Bound for Glory and the last event before TNA’s big move to SPIKE T.V on Saturday 1st October! Last night for the TNA talent roster to impress. Borash and Douglas hyped tonight’s card which would be headlined by a huge Main Event, a Total Elimination match - a standard 10 man Elimination tag team match until 1 entire team is eliminated then if there are more than 1 member of the remaining team still standing they would then compete to decide the winner of the match. TONIGHT’S MAIN EVENT| TOTAL ELIMINATION| CHRIS SABIN, JEFF HARDY, LOW KI & GREATNESS (AUSTIN ARIES & RODERICK STRONG) V BOBBY ROODE, CHRIS HARRIS, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, CM PUNK & NIGEL McGUINNESS!
Borash sent it to the announcers Mike Tenay and Don Callis who were sitting at ringside, Tenay reminded everyone that also tonight for the first time TNA champion, James Storm and TNA Championship Series winner, Samoa Joe will share the ring for the first time when they sign the contract to make their TNA championship match at TNA Bound for Glory official. Tenay also confirmed that tonight’s Main Event had no time limit while all other matches had a 20 minute time limit. MATCH 1| 4 WAY| BRIAN KENDRICK V DOUG WILLIAMS V ALEX SHELLEY W. ANGELINA LOVE V EDDIE COLON W. NORMAN SMILEY| 4 men who are looking to push on with their career and make that jump up to the next level here in TNA. Williams’ is looking to bounce back after a disappointing TNA Championship Series. Callis noted on commentary that Brian Kendrick would have probably expected to have more success so far than he has while both Shelley and Colon are still relatively new to TNA they have both impressed on occasion. Good match, fun way to kick off the Pay per View. Fast paced with two or more men always in the ring going at it, Kendrick came close to victory following his Slice Bread No.2 on Shelley but Colon saved the match.
Angelina Love got caught trying to interfere in the match to help Shelley at one point so the match official ejected Love from ringside, Shelley was not happy and left the match to scream at Love like he did recently on TNA IMPACT on for Kendrick to take Shelley out with a dive at ringside but while both men were out of the ring, Doug Williams managed to spike Colon with a Tombstone pile driver for the win. RESULT| DOUG WILLIAMS BEAT BRIAN KENDRICK, ALEX SHELLEY & EDDIE COLON
Doug Williams celebrated afterwards as Mike Tenay praised Williams’ attitude since his poor showing in the TNA Championship Series. Brian Kendrick was sitting at ringside when Angelina Love placed her hands on his shoulders and thanked Kendrick for stepping in before quickly making her way backstage when she saw Shelley getting back to his feet. Things are not looking good between Alex Shelley and his partner in crime Angelina Love.
Christopher Daniels the first ever TNA champion was shown arriving at the arena earlier today. Daniels’ has not been seen since losing out in the finals of the TNA Championship Series to Samoa Joe, before tonight’s Main Event we would hear from Christopher Daniels also concerning Chris Sabin’s comments where Sabin is determined to earn Daniels’ respect.
Ron Killings was standing by backstage with TNA Reporter, Don West when Jeff Jarrett interrupted ahead of his match with Killings momentarily. Jarrett told Killings that he requested this match tonight with TNA management because the history books shows that Jarrett has beat Killings 4 times but the that doesn’t tell the whole story so Jarrett wanted to do the right thing and give Killings a fair shot but warned Killings before he left that Killings wasn’t facing the same man he faced before… MATCH 2| RON KILLINGS V JEFF JARRETT| Jarrett does hold 4 victories over Ron Killings and in the early days of TNA if Jarrett hadn’t screwed over Killings, victories over Jarrett would have helped Killings TNA career and made a big difference. Jarrett opened up recently about changing his outlook on TNA and wants to help TNA. Good clean wrestling match, Killings seemed cautious at times to trust Jarrett when it came to clean breaks etc. Killings who is looking to build some momentum came close on a couple of occasions especially after a sit out face buster but Jarrett managed to pick the victory cleanly for the first time over Killings after he avoided Killings Axe kick before dropping Killings with his Stroke. Jarrett helped Killings to his feet afterwards and while the two men didn’t shake hands, you could tell there was respect between the two men after a hard fought fair fight which Jarrett won on this night. RESULT| JEFF JARRETT BEAT RON KILLINGS VIA PIN FALL
Chris Harris was shown backstage along with his fellow members of Wildcat Wrestling Academy (Cliff Compton, Eddie Colon, Ryan O’Reilly & Shawn Daivari) and Norman Smiley discussing their tactics for tonight.
A quick video aired looking back over the history between Jerry Lynn and Petey Williams ahead of their match up next. Lynn has previously been critical of Williams’ attitude and use of the Canadian Destroyer while spectacular Lynn believes it’s too dangerous. Recently Lynn saved his partner Amazing Red from being attacked by Williams and pinned Williams’ last month at TNA Sacrifice before Petey Williams cost Lynn and Red a tag match to New Millennium on TNA IMPACT… MATCH 3| JERRY LYNN V PETEY WILLIAMS W. COACH D’AMORE| First ever one on one meeting between Jerry Lynn and Petey Williams here tonight but recently Williams’ has lost to Lynn’s partner Amazing Red and was pinned by Lynn during a 6 man at TNA Sacrifice last month. Another good match between Lynn a former multi weight World champion and the greatest wrestler to ever come out of Canada according to Coach D’Amore. Williams the longer the match went on started taking Lynn lightly and was teasing the Canadian Destroyer before changing his mind and it came back to haunt Williams after Lynn countered another casual Canadian Destroyer attempt by dropping Williams on his head with a Kryptonite Krunch which hurt Williams long enough for Lynn to pick up the win. RESULT| JERRY LYNN BEAT PETEY WILLIAMS VIA PIN FALL
Coach D’Amore was in shock, he started banging his hands against the ring apron in frustration before actually entering the ring and confronting Jerry Lynn. Lynn had enough and grabbed hold of D’Amore before backing him into the corner but that allowed Petey Williams’ time to recover and to jump Lynn from behind but as always Amazing Red was not far behind to save his partner, Red cleared the ring of Williams’ as D’Amore bailed. Lynn and Red were challenging D’Amore and Williams to get back into the ring when Eric Young floored both Lynn & Red from behind much to the delight of Coach D’Amore. Petey Williams entered the ring and Williams and Young together put the boots to the first ever TNA Tag Team champions. Tenay wondered whether this was why D’Amore and Bobby Roode were talking about last month at TNA Sacrifice. TNA officials finally came out and ordered Eric Young, Petey Williams and Coach D’Amore from the ring…
Mike Tenay and Don Callis spoke about Eric Young jumping Amazing Red & Jerry Lynn as they were helped back to their feet by TNA officials saying it seems that Coach D’Amore has acquired the services of the ‘Hired Gun’ Eric Young…
TNA Reporter, Don West was standing by backstage with Coach D’Amore, Eric Young and Petey Williams. Williams actually spoke instead of D’Amore saying that these days there is nothing special about beating Jerry Lynn but beating the first ever TNA Tag Team champions and ending the career of Lynn is something to be proud off. Eric Young just stared down the camera like a mad man as D’Amore took over saying he is always on the lookout for talent so D’Amore approached Bobby Roode and they discussed Eric Young before Roode persuaded Young to trust D’Amore on the promise that D’Amore would make Young and Williams the most successful tag team of all time and they are going to start by taking out the first ever TNA Tag Team champions, Amazing Red & Jerry Lynn!
TNA Tag Team champions, GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong) and their teammates for tonight’s Main Event Chris Sabin, Jeff Hardy & Low Ki were all shown gathered together getting ready for tonight’s Total Elimination match. MATCH 4| BROTHERS IN ARMS (BG & KIP JAMES) V NEW MILLENNIUM (FRANKIE KAZARIAN & MICHAEL SHANE) W. TRACI BROOKS| Brothers in Arms were angry tonight after failing to become the TNA Tag Team champions in their last match at TNA Sacrifice and having had to listen to New Millennium disrespect them for weeks now. No pre match mic work from the multi time Tag Team champions straight to business jumping Kazarian & Shane before the bell until the match official managed to regain control. Good match BG & Kip worked better with Kazarian & Shane than they did against GREATNESS. Both teams with a lot to prove in this match, both wanting to stay in the TNA Tag Team title picture. After winning their first 5 matches Brothers in Arms have now lost back to back matches against two of the top teams in the division setting back their hopes of adding the TNA Tag Team titles to their collection, finish came after Kazarian managed to dump Kip over the top rope and after Shane cracked BG with a Super kick, Kazarian planted him with his Wave of the Future for the 3 count. New Millennium may be itching closer to their first shot at the TNA Tag Team titles! RESULT| NEW MILLENNIUM (FRANKIE KAZARIAN & MICHAEL SHANE) BEAT BROTHERS IN ARMS (BG & KIP JAMES) VIA PIN FALL
TNA Reporter, Don West was standing by backstage with TNA T.V champion, CM Punk. We have not heard from Punk since he ruined the Main Event at TNA Sacrifice last month on Pay per View. Since then Punk has been jumped by Low Ki and has learned he will face James Storm on the first TNA IMPACT on SPIKE T.V. West wanted Punk’s thoughts. Punk told Don West that when it comes to James Storm he’s got exactly what he wants and he couldn’t have planned it better on the first night on a new network with potentially more fans than ever watching and just weeks from the biggest event in TNA history, TNA Bound for Glory – Punk is going to beat and humiliate James Storm in the middle of the ring, maybe to the point where Samoa Joe decides that he would rather challenge for the TNA T.V title than the TNA title. Punk turned his attention to Low Ki and told Ki that he only had himself to blame because Low Ki struck him first, CM Punk is not someone to mess with. Punk also heard Low Ki’s comments about how Punk doesn’t belong at his level, Punk laughed it off before saying at the end of tonight we would all see who doesn’t belong when CM Punk is the left the last man standing! MATCH 5| ABYSS V RHINO| Prior to the match Rhino was shown telling Jim Mitchell to stay backstage during his match against Mitchell’s former ‘Monster’, Abyss. Rhino the ‘Man Beast’ former World champion may be one of only a few men who is not intimidated by Abyss. Rhino’s intentions, goal was clear to put Abyss down like an old useless pet. Entertaining brawl, which the match official struggled to control at times. Jim Mitchell was shown repeatedly during the match watching from a corridor backstage. Abyss scored a near fall after countering a pile driver with a back body drop before smashing Rhino with a high impact Choke slam but Rhino kicked out and came back shortly after with a near fall of his own following an impressive spine buster to the big man. Abyss seemed to be on his way to victory after catching Rhino with his Black Hole slam when Rhino attempted his Gore, as Abyss lifted Rhino on the big screen Jim Mitchell was shown laying in a puddle of his own blood before Chris Hero was shown unwrapping a chain from around his arm before casually dropping the chain beside Mitchell and walking off. Abyss dropped Rhino and went off to attend to his Father figure. RESULT| RHINO BEAT ABYSS VIA COUNT OUT
Rhino despite now working for Jim Mitchell stayed in the ring to accept the count out victory before heading backstage himself. Backstage a number of TNA officials and paramedics were checking on Jim Mitchell as Abyss showed up wanting to get to Mitchell, Abyss despite his problems with Mitchell recently has clearly not stopped caring for him and Abyss dropped to his knees and cradled Mitchell’s head in his arms and lap while screaming out in heartbreak. A TNA official asked the cameraman to leave the scene.
Jeremy Borash and Shane Douglas back in the studio were concerned about the condition of Jim Mitchell. Borash couldn’t believe what Chris Hero had done to Jim Mitchell. Nothing Chris Hero does surprises Shane Douglas but Douglas knows that Chris Hero is going to have hell to pay for his actions! Up next former TNA Tag Team champions, Zero Gravity (Matt Sydal & Paul London) return! MATCH 6| ZERO GRAVITY (MATT SYDAL & PAUL LONDON) V WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (CLIFF COMPTON & RYAN O’REILLY) W. NORMAN SMILEY| Zero Gravity making their first appearance since failing to regain the TNA Tag Team titles in June at TNA Slammiversary in an incredible Ladder match against GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong). Zero Gravity have been recovering from minor injuries but also taking their time because they know that they cannot challenge for the TNA Tag Team titles while GREATNESS are still the champions after GREATNESS won their rivalry. London & Sydal were on top form tonight against the bigger Wildcat Wrestling Academy, impressing everyone as they always seem to do before putting O’Reilly away following their 450 Splash from London followed up by a Shooting Star press from Sydal. Zero Gravity are back and willing to wait for their shot at once again becoming the TNA Tag Team champions. RESULT| ZERO GRAVITY (MATT SYDAL & PAUL LONDON) BEAT WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (CLIFF COMPTON & RYAN O’REILLY)
Brent Albright & Lance Archer slid into the ring after the bell Archer nearly took London’s head off his shoulders with a running boot to the face while Albright grabbed Sydal from behind before dropping Sydal on his head with a German suplex. Albright & Archer have been relatively quiet since they lost their spots in Heroes for Villains and with the TNA Championship Series going on. Tenay wondered whether they had reformed. TNA officials who weren’t still checking on Jim Mitchell were out to get Albright & Archer from the ring before checking on the fallen former champions who have had their return ruined by Brent Albright & Lance Archer but the announcers wondered why! HIGHLIGHTS| 26.08.05| TNA IMPACT| MAIN EVENT| TNA CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES| FINALS| SAMOA JOE BEAT CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VIA PIN FALL…
Jeremy Borash was now in the middle of the ring which was set up for the contract signing for the TNA championship match for TNA Bound for Glory live next month on Pay per View! Borash hyped the Main Event as the ‘Tennessee Cowboy’ the reigning and defending TNA champion, James Storm against the unstoppable, unbeatable, undefeated, TNA Championship Series winner, Samoa Joe!
Samoa Joe the top contender came out first, Joe was just wearing black shorts with a black t-shirt. Joe has an aura about him, people can’t take their eyes of him. Joe entered the ring ignored a handshake attempt from Borash, Joe didn’t even acknowledge Borash, Joe just went and leaned in the corner and awaited the arrival of the TNA champion. Storm was out next to a huge ovation from the crowd. Storm carrying the TNA title was wearing a customised cowboy hat with jeans and shirt. Storm entered the ring placed the TNA title on the podium, shook Borash’s hand and stood his ground in the middle of the ring not taking his eyes of Joe the entire time.
Borash asked Joe to join him and Storm behind the podium for the official contract signing. Joe didn’t want any part of the contract signing and wasn’t paying any attention to Borash, who asked Joe again to join them after Joe ignored them again Storm grabbed the microphone and ordered Joe to bring his ass over! Fans erupted and that got Joe’s attention, there was tension in the air now. Joe stormed over to the podium and pushed the podium over sending the TNA title flying Storm wasn’t happy and it seemed like Storm and Joe were going to go at it before even signing the contract but TNA security entered the ring and calmed both men down. TNA Security decided to stay in the ring behind Borash once things were calmer. Borash nervously asked both men to sign the contract, then they could address one another both Joe and Storm went for the contract at the same time which added to the tension, Joe snatched the contract from Storm keeping the security guards on their toes. Joe signed the contract before tossing the contract at Storm. What was becoming noticeable that despite his hostile attitude towards Storm, Joe hadn’t looked Storm in the eye Storm signed the contract and handed it back to Borash before picking up his TNA title of the mat. Storm told Joe to keep his muzzle on while he spoke, Joe was on edge bouncing on his toes with his eyes locked on the TNA title over Storm’s shoulder. Storm told Joe to look him in the eye while he spoke but Joe was focused solely on the TNA title. Storm started to talk telling Joe he was in over his head and at TNA Bound for Glory, Storm stopped again to tell Joe to look him in the eye like a man. Storm continued by saying Joe would crumble under the pressure of the bright lights of the big show when Storm knocks Joe out with a Super kick. Joe wasn’t listening, Storm had enough and told pointed in Joe’s face telling him to stop looking at his title and to look him in the eye Joe barged past Storm and exited the ring. We are still yet to hear from Samoa Joe but his attitude says so much. Joe not looking back or showing too much emotion just made his way back up the ramp knowing his TNA title match was now official. James Storm wasn’t happy, seemed to be complaining in the ring about Joe’s attitude. Don Callis praised Joe for getting inside Storm’s head so easily without saying a word and Callis believes Joe was able to do it so easily was because Storm is worried about defending the TNA title against Samoa Joe next month at TNA Bound for Glory and who could blame him, questioned Callis. SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2005| TNA IMPACT DEBUTS ON SPIKE T.V! SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2005| TNA IMPACT| MAIN EVENT| TNA CHAMPION V TNA T.V CHAMPION| JAMES STORM V CM PUNK! MATCH 7| MONTY BROWN V KEN PHOENIX W. ALEXIS LAREE| Ken Phoenix was still hurting following the beating he received on TNA IMPACT this past Thursday at the hands of Low Ki. Monty Brown the former leader of Alpha Male Enterprise and former TNA Tag Team champion has let everyone know that he will not apologise for his past but wants to put it behind him and focus on the future where Brown wants to prove he is the ‘Alpha Male’ here in TNA wrestling. Brown made quick work of Phoenix and after sending Phoenix flying across the ring with his Pounce, Brown finished Phoenix off with his Alpha Bomb. Following the match Monty Brown’s former partner Elix Skipper returned we haven’t seen Skipper since Brown left Skipper a bloody mess, Brown blamed the injured Skipper for AME losing the TNA Tag Team titles. Skipper walked out on to the stage and just stared down at Brown letting Brown who looked a little worried that his past sins were coming back to haunt him, that Elix Skipper was back. RESULT| MONTY BROWN BEAT KEN PHOENIX VIA PIN FALL
Ahead of tonight’s Main Event, Jeremy Borash announced that TNA wrestling would holding a press conference on Friday 30th September 2005 the day before the TNA IMPACT debut on SPIKE T.V where the TNA Bound for Glory card will be announced! MATCH 8| MAIN EVENT| TOTAL ELIMINATION| TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS| GREATNESS (AUSTIN ARIES & RODERICK STRONG), CHRIS SABIN, JEFF HARDY & LOW KI V TNA T.V CHAMPION| CM PUNK, BOBBY ROODE, CHRIS HARRIS, CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & NIGEL McGUINNESS| Rules of the match – No time limits, 10 man elimination tag team match once an entire team is eliminated the remaining men if more than 1 will then face off to determine the winner of the match.
Great Main Event which was given a lot of time. Low Ki had to be controlled even before the bell because he wanted to get his hands on CM Punk for costing him the TNA title last month, while Punk was more than happy to avoid Low Ki. So many stories in the match to keep an eye on Low Ki wanting revenge on CM Punk, Christopher Daniels’ trying to rebound after losing out in the finals of the TNA Championship Series while Chris Sabin was looking to earn the respect of Daniels. Chris Harris trying to break his Pay per View losing streak, Jeff Hardy is trying to cement his place in the top level here in TNA while GREATNESS, Bobby Roode and Nigel McGuinness are looking to prove that they deserve to be headlining Pay per Views, earning the big money and getting the big opportunities. ELIMINATIONS| 1ST| Christopher Daniels adding to his recent misfortune was the first man eliminated after a number of men were in the ring hitting their moves when Low Ki went for CM Punk which distracted Daniels enough for Chris Sabin to roll Daniels up for the 3 count. Daniels was fuming afterwards while Sabin flashed Daniels a cocky smile as Daniels was escorted from ringside. Samoa Joe and Chris Sabin are the only non TNA champions now to have ever beat Christopher Daniels. (5-4) 2ND| Low Ki had finally got his hands on CM Punk at ringside and while Punk was trying to cover up against the security railing Low Ki was just unloading with kicks, Low Ki was all over Punk. Match official couldn’t stop Low Ki no one else was looking to get involved. TNA security finally came down and pulled Low Ki away from CM Punk as it was announced that the match official had disqualified Low Ki. (4-4) 3RD| CM Punk afterwards refused to get back into the match, Punk grabbed his TNA T.V title from ringside and walked out on his team leaving them at a disadvantage once again. (4-3) 4TH| a little while until the next elimination but it came after Nigel McGuinness smashed Austin Aries with his jaw breaker lariat after avoiding a roaring elbow from Aries. (3-3) 5TH| Match was even again with Hardy, Sabin & Strong representing one team and Harris, McGuinness & Roode the other. Things were tight now with both teams desperate to not fall behind again. All 6 men were in the ring when Hardy went for his Whisper in the Wind only for McGuinness to push Hardy from the top rope to the floor, Hardy hurt his ankle on landing. McGuinness turned into a Gibson Driver from Strong but Strong was then rolled up by the legal man Chris Harris for the elimination giving his team the advantage for the first time in the match. Hardy was hurt at ringside too. 6TH| Jeff Hardy was not technically eliminated from the match but Chris Sabin was fighting by himself now and Sabin gave a good showing of himself against the 3 men and scored near falls on all 3 men but they always had the numbers to save their partner from elimination. Eventually the numbers caught up to Sabin he was running wild, he caught McGuinness with a Tornado DDT and Harris with his Hesitation drop kick in the corner only for Roode to smash Sabin in the back of the neck with his dangerous lariat which was enough to eliminate Sabin. Harris, McGuinness & Roode had really turned the match around. (1-3) 7TH| Jeff Hardy was alone and hurt, Hardy could barely stand on his injured ankle but the crowd were right behind him. Harris, McGuinness & Roode mocked Hardy and the crowd. Seemed like were moments away from Harris, McGuinness & Roode competing in a 3 way to determine the winner of the match. Again like Sabin, Hardy would have his moments but whenever Hardy had a man covered someone else would break up the fall. Hardy finally got a break when Harris accidentally caught McGuinness with a Spear which allowed Hardy to dump Harris from the ring but Roode was the legal man and Roode grabbed Hardy looking for his fisherman suplex but Hardy countered with a Twist of Fate which was enough to eliminate Roode, Hardy was still in with a chance. (1-2) 8TH| Harris & McGuinness worked together to try and get rid of Hardy as quick as possible but Hardy would not stop coming at McGuinness and Harris but it was clear Hardy’s ankle was in a bad way. McGuinness set Hardy up for Tower of London on the top rope and the end seemed to be near but Hardy started firing back so McGuinness joined Hardy on the ropes but Hardy managed to knock McGuinness down and quickly hit his Swanton Bomb. Harris entered the ring to seemingly help McGuinness but Harris stopped himself and watched as Hardy eliminated McGuinness… (1-1) 9TH| Harris smashed Hardy with a Spear the second Hardy struggled back to his feet but unbelievably Hardy kicked out at the last second much to the annoyance of Harris. Harris argued with the match official before dragging Hardy back to his feet and smashing him with his Catatonic but again Hardy managed to roll his shoulder up but now Hardy was purely fighting on instinct, he was gone so Harris quickly locked Hardy in his Texas clover leaf in the middle of the ring and Hardy was in no condition to even attempt to crawl for the ropes so Hardy tapped out! RESULT| CHRIS HARRIS WON THE TOTAL ELIMINATION MATCH LASTLY ELIMINATING JEFF HARDY
Jeff Hardy was face down in the middle of the ring being checked on by the match official as Mike Tenay praised the valiant effort of Hardy but Don Callis noted that Hardy recently has been made to tap out by Christopher Daniels twice, Samoa Joe and Chris Harris, Callis mockingly called Hardy “Superstar” before congratulating Chris Harris on his victory, breaking his Pay per View losing streak and proving to everyone that he was still the face of professional wrestling.
Chris Harris told everyone that tonight he would once again prove all of his critics wrong and he Harris did just that as Wildcat Wrestling Academy (Cliff Compton, Eddie Colon, Ryan O’Reilly & Shawn Daivari) and Norman Smiley came out Nigel McGuinness was shown watching backstage as Tenay reminded everyone that Harris could have saved McGuinness but decided not to. Chris Harris was carried around the ring by the Wildcat Wrestling Academy as TNA No Surrender went off the air as Don Callis again called Chris Harris the face of professional wrestling.

Borash noted that if Zero Gravity (Matt Sydal & Paul London) were successful they would receive their shot once GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong) have lost the TNA Tag Team titles.
Shane Douglas noted in reviewing the match that New Millennium (Frankie Kazarian & Michael Shane) w. Traci Brooks will not be happy about not being named the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles especially after their recent victories over former champions Amazing Red & Jerry Lynn and Brothers in Arms (BG James & Kip James).

INTERNATIOAL CHALLENGE MATCH JUSHIN ‘THUNDER’ LIGER V NIGEL McGUINNESS
Nigel McGuinness walked out first wearing a black bomber jacket and jeans before being joined by the Japanese legend Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger who received a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance. Liger was wearing his famous red and white mask with a suit. McGuinness was already trash talking Liger, sick of the attention Liger was getting. McGuinness and Liger stood face to face as Mike Tenay noted how much of a pleasure it was to have Liger compete at TNA Bound for Glory but also how big of an opportunity it was for Nigel McGuinness. Nigel McGuinness| McGuinness from London, England who made his TNA debut at TNA Bound for Glory last year said he’s obviously aware of who Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger is but McGuinness doesn’t understand the appeal and at TNA Bound for Glory live on Pay per View he is going to kick the snot out of Liger and Liger better be careful that McGuinness doesn’t rip Liger’s mask from his face! Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger| Liger started by thanking the fans for their reception, Liger who’s English was quite strong also thanked TNA management. Liger has had many great matches and made some great memories here in the United States and at TNA Bound for Glory he is looking to make more memories when he beats Nigel McGuinness. McGuinness could be seen laughing at Liger’s comments.
Announcer’s review| Tenay & Douglas were excited about Nigel McGuinness taking on Thunder Liger. Liger is legit, a legend in Japan. Now Nigel McGuinness who has shown a lot of promise gets to take on a legend on the biggest night of the year TNA Bound for Glory!
M O N S T E R S B A L L M A T C H ABYSS V CHRIS HERO V RHINO
Jeremy Borash noted that at TNA Bound for Glory, ‘The Monster’ Abyss, Chris Hero and Rhino would meet in the first ever Monsters Ball. Borash revealed there are no rules, finish comes by way of pin fall or submission. The difference to this match is that, and all 3 men have agreed that the night before TNA Bound for Glory all 3 men would be locked into separate cages in the same room, they will spend 24 hours locked in a room together before facing each other in a match which promises to be one of the most gruesome matches in TNA history.
Chris Hero was fined and suspended following his brutal attack of Jim Mitchell at TNA No Surrender and is not here tonight plus Abyss and Rhino have also decided not to appear tonight but over the next few weeks leading up to TNA Bound for Glory we would hear from all 3 men plus we would watch them enter the cage on the last TNA IMPACT before TNA Bound for Glory… Announcers’ Review| Tenay & Douglas recapped the history behind the Monsters Ball match, Abyss “failed” Jim Mitchell so Mitchell turned to Chris Hero to put down Abyss but Hero took too long for Mitchell’s liking so Mitchell turned to Rhino. Hero didn’t appreciate Mitchell turning to Rhino so Hero took things to a new level when he attacked Jim Mitchell backstage caving Mitchell’s head in with a steel chain. Douglas & Tenay agreed that we may see levels of violence in this match we have never seen before.
R E T I R E M E N T M A T C H JEFF JARRETT V BOBBY ROODE
Jeremy Borash announced the shocking news that Jeff Jarrett has decided to retire from in-ring activities following TNA Bound for Glory, Borash noted that Jarrett would go into his decision in more detail shortly. Jarrett came out wearing a TNA shirt and jeans before being joined by a suit wearing Bobby Roode. The former World champion, Jarrett and former TNA T.V champion Roode who beat Jarrett during the TNA Championship Series stood face to face before taking their place behind their respective stands and microphones. Jeff Jarrett| Jarrett told the fans that the TNA Championship Series was a real eye opener for him on many levels and Jarrett has come to the conclusion that his time as an in-ring performer is almost done. Jarrett has spoken with TNA management a few times over recent weeks and they agree it’s time for Jarrett to move on to a new role but before Jarrett does that, Jarrett wants to go out with a bang on the biggest stage of them all at TNA Bound for Glory. Jarrett is excited to test himself again against Bobby Roode noting Roode beat Jarrett in the TCS but Jarrett vowed his career would have a happy ending when he beats Roode in the middle of the ring on October 23rd. Jarrett also exclusively revealed that following TNA Bound for Glory, Jarrett has took up a role with TNA management but more will be revealed on that in due time. Jarrett finished up by wishing Bobby Roode good luck. Bobby Roode| Roode was told by TNA management that he was put in this match against Jarrett for many reasons but one of the reasons was because Roode reminds them of Jarrett. Roode believes TNA management meant that as a compliment but Roode took it as an insult. Roode told Jarrett he may be a multi time World champion but Jarrett is not as great as he likes to think he is. Roode and Jarrett are nothing alike because Roode will earn all of his respect by being the most calculated and dangerous man in this business and not because people have held his hand and handed him opportunities. Roode warned Jarrett that he would not get the happy ending he craves at TNA Bound for Glory and he will again fall victim to the ‘Rise of Roode!’ Announcers Review| Tenay & Douglas were shocked about the decision from Jeff Jarrett that he would retire as an in-ring performer following TNA Bound for Glory where then after Jarrett would move to a new position with TNA management, Tenay said they would discuss that in further detail at a later time but called that announcement shocking too. Start of the changes by TNA management. Bobby Roode after losing the TNA T.V title last year at TNA Bound for Glory this year gets to face a multi time World champion in his last match, will Jarrett get a happy ending or will the ‘Rise of Roode’ continue to grow!
Borash revealed that there were six matches remaining to announce and all 6 matches are capable of headlining any TNA Pay per View event and following TNA Bound for Glory as part of the changes TNA management are planning people will see a change in how Pay per View’s are presented. Borash announced the championship match signed for TNA Bound for Glory…
T N A T A G T E A M C H A M P I O N S H I P C| GREATNESS (AUSTIN ARIES & RODERICK STRONG) V TBC
The top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles will be announced tomorrow night on the first episode of TNA IMPACT on SPIKE T.V! Borash revealed that this team had yet to make their TNA debut but were unquestionably one of the greatest tag teams off all time and the TNA Tag Team title match at TNA Bound for Glory is not only Main Event worthy but is also a true dream match. GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong)| Aries & Strong came out looking smart as always carrying their TNA Tag Team titles. Aries said they are putting a lot of trust in TNA management by agreeing to this match, in the sense that GREATNESS want to face the best and they like the fans do not know who they are facing yet they want to be just as surprised as everyone else tomorrow night on TNA IMPACT. Aries mentioned Borash calling this team one of the greatest off all time and Aries hopes that’s true because the biggest night of the year deserves the biggest TNA Tag Team title match as possible but the fact remains it doesn’t matter who walks down the ramp tomorrow night because at TNA Bound for Glory like they have been doing for the last 2 years, Austin Aries & Roderick Strong will prove without a shadow of a doubt that they are the greatest team alive today! Announcers Review| Douglas & Tenay wondered between them who GREATNESS could be defending the TNA Tag Team titles against at TNA Bound for Glory. Tenay noted it’s just another reason to tune into the debut edition of TNA IMPACT on SPIKE T.V tomorrow night. Tenay noted that there are rumours that he has heard which he won’t spoil here but if they are true, the TNA Tag Team title match is truly a dream match and will be without fail the toughest test of GREATNESS’s reign as TNA Tag Team champions.
R E S P E C T CHRIS SABIN V CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
Chris Sabin was out first wearing a comic book character t shirt with a blazer followed by the first ever TNA champion, Christopher Daniels the two men met in the middle of the stage for their face to face but Daniels wouldn’t look Sabin in the eye turning to look out at the crowd instead, showing Sabin no respect, Sabin just smiled and said something to Daniels’ which wasn’t picked up… Chris Sabin| Sabin thought he was doing quite well for himself 23 years old wrestling more matches than anyone else in TNA history, competing against the best, sometimes beating the best, won the Next Step tournament, was the first strong TNA T.V champion basically Sabin was having a lot of fun and thought he was earning everyone’s respect and making a name for himself but then Sabin questioned whether Daniels had any balls… Sabin laughed to himself while Daniels looked angry. Sabin admitted Daniels beat the hell out of him, busted him open and pretty much cost him any chance of winning the TNA Championship Series. Sabin was angry and at times had to resist screwing over Daniels in return but once Sabin calmed down and thought about it properly. Daniels taught Sabin a lesson and beat some respect into Sabin. Sabin respects Christopher Daniels. Sabin reeled off Daniels’ accomplishments and the truth is Sabin wants to be regarded in the same breath as the likes of Daniels and now Sabin wants to earn Daniels’ respect and after TNA Bound for Glory the biggest match of Sabin’s life he will have earned Daniels and everyone else’s respect when he beats Daniels in the middle of the ring. Christopher Daniels| Daniels took to the podium and asked why he would respect Chris Sabin. Daniels mentioned the t-shirt Sabin was wearing. Chris Sabin has just called this match the biggest match of his career while for Daniels it’s just another match but what is eating Daniels’ up inside is that it’s TNA Bound for Glory, it should be the biggest match of Daniels’ career he should be challenging for the TNA title in the Main Event but Samoa Joe took that away from him and that’s eating Daniels’ up. Daniels is angry, frustrated and determined to get the TNA title back so Daniels warned Sabin that the beating Daniels gave Sabin at the start of the TNA Championship Series is going to be nothing compared to the beating Daniels gives Sabin on October 23rd because Daniels is determined to leave TNA Bound for Glory as the talking point. Daniels looked at Sabin and told him he doesn’t care about Sabin’s mission and Daniels does not respect him and after TNA Bound for Glory Daniels will be leaving Sabin behind in a puddle of his own blood. Announcers Review| Douglas & Tenay mentioned how this was a huge opportunity for Chris Sabin, truly the biggest match of his life and they warned Christopher Daniels that he better not underestimate Sabin because Sabin will be ready come October 23rd. Daniels needs to put behind him the fact that he finished runner-up in the TNA Championship Series because if Daniels’ loses again then he will be even further away from the TNA title. TNA Bound for Glory could be a make or break night in the careers of both Chris Sabin and Christopher Daniels!
D R E A M M A T C H STING V JEFF HARDY
Sting making his first appearance since TNA Slammiversary came out to a huge ovation from the crowd. Sting who was without his face paint and usual look was wearing shades and a nice suit with a leather jacket. Jeff Hardy was out next to another loud ovation meeting Sting in the middle of the ring for their face off. Face off went without a problem and finished with both men shaking hands. Jeff Hardy| Jeff Hardy said he felt like an excited kid waiting for Christmas knowing he was going to be facing ‘The Icon’ Sting at TNA Bound for Glory. Hardy called Sting his childhood hero and also noted that he wears face paint at times as a sign of respect towards Sting. Hardy called Sting a legend and told him he cannot wait until TNA Bound for Glory. Hardy keeping it short and sweet. Sting| Sting thanked Hardy for the kind words and said he too was looking forward to facing Hardy on the biggest TNA stage of the year and Sting hopes they have one hell of a match. Sting told Hardy he respects him too and see’s great potential in Hardy. Sting told Hardy not to get caught up in the emotion and the excitement though, telling Hardy to get his head on straight or Sting will beat Hardy in the middle of the ring. Sting wasn’t coming to TNA Bound for Glory to sign autographs for Hardy he was coming to kick Hardy’s ass because Sting like everyone else on the roster dreams of one day becoming the TNA champion! Sting told Hardy that while he’s been away he’s been watching Hardy closely and told Hardy that he gets treated like a superstar here in TNA by the fans and management but the truth is Hardy may have earned that status somewhere else but here in TNA, Hardy still needs to prove himself according to ‘The Icon’ and show a little more heart! Hardy was taken back by Sting’s comments, Hardy wasn’t happy about Sting questioning his heart. Sting watched Hardy’s reaction and told “superstar” to calm down and get focused because it’s Showtime! Announcers Review| Tenay called the situation with Sting calling out Jeff Hardy very interesting. Douglas who was still watching Jeff Hardy’s reaction said Hardy is clearly not happy with Sting’s comments about Hardy’s heart. Tenay asked Douglas whether he believes there is any truth to Sting’s comments. Douglas thinking of the top of his head said Hardy showed great heart at TNA No Surrender last month to almost come back and win the Total Elimination match, Tenay interrupted to remind everyone that match ended with Hardy tapping out to Chris Harris, Hardy has also recently tapped out to both Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe. Douglas does think that Hardy expected to walk straight to the top here in TNA but Hardy has found that last step hard to make. Tenay said hopefully over the next couple of weeks we will get to hear more from both Hardy and Sting leading into TNA Bound for Glory.
T N A T.V C H A M P I O N S H I P C| CM PUNK V LOW KI
Low Ki and TNA T.V champion, CM Punk met in the middle of the stage for their face to face and because TNA management were worried about it kicking off between the two men, a number of TNA officials surrounded Ki & Punk. Punk smirked at Low Ki before raising the TNA T.V title high above his head. Borash in announcing this match called this the biggest TNA T.V championship match in the history of the title. Low Ki| Low Ki who doesn’t talk often said at TNA Bound for Glory he was coming for CM Punk’s head. CM Punk screwed Low Ki out of the TNA title, Low Ki thought he had his career taken from him, Low Ki came back from a broken back and earned the right to challenge for the TNA title only for CM Punk to take away his opportunity. Low Ki is going to take CM Punk apart at TNA Bound for Glory and is going to hurt Punk both physically and mentally. CM Punk believes he’s a great and is delusional enough to believe that he is going to go down in history as the greatest wrestler off all time but Low Ki told Punk that Punk was not on the same level as the likes him, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris, James Storm and seemingly Samoa Joe because if Punk was Punk would not have failed time and time again and instead of learning from each defeat and taking it like a man, Punk always looks to blame someone or something else when the truth is CM Punk needs to look in the mirror and realise that he is not as good as he thinks he is, Punk didn’t like hearing this while Low Ki was getting more and more heated as he spoke before telling CM Punk that like last year at TNA Bound for Glory when Punk failed, Punk is going to fail again this year after Low Ki beats Punk in the middle of the ring and takes away the only thing CM Punk has left the TNA T.V title! Low Ki it seemed was going to go for Punk after he stopped talking but stopped himself, TNA officials were there just to make sure Low Ki didn’t jump Punk. CM Punk| CM Punk was slow up to the podium, possibly reeling from Low Ki’s strong words. Fans were all over Punk as he made his way to the podium too. Punk was taken back, off his game. It was clear for everyone to see. Low Ki had rattled Punk. Punk told the fans to shut up but that clearly angered the fans more. Punk raised the TNA T.V title high above his head and told everyone that he was their champion and the true champion of TNA Total Non-Stop Action wrestling. Punk began to speak but stopped himself and said he doesn’t need to say anything, he doesn’t need to respond to Low Ki tonight with words. Punk told Low Ki to watch TNA IMPACT tomorrow night on SPIKE T.V and Punk will respond by beating the TNA champion, James Storm in the middle of the ring! Punk stormed off leaving the stage… Announcers Review| Mike Tenay and Shane Douglas had never seen CM Punk taken back like that before, Low Ki’s strong words really hit CM Punk hard tonight. Shane Douglas noted how Low Ki clearly wants revenge but Low Ki’s words have just made tomorrow’s match against James Storm and his match against Low Ki at TNA Bound for Glory the biggest matches of Punk’s TNA career. If Punk losses both matches Punk will have no one to blame but himself. However if Punk wins Punk will go into 2006 in a great position to challenge for the TNA championship! Low Ki wants revenge on CM Punk costing him the TNA title and if Low Ki gets his revenge it may cost CM Punk everything Punk has ever wanted!
F A C E O F T N A W R E S T L I N G AJ STYLES V CHRIS HARRIS
Former TNA champion, AJ Styles came out to another great ovation from the crowd. AJ hasn’t competed for TNA since failing to beat James Storm for the TNA title back in June at TNA Slammiversary. AJ took his place in the middle of the stage to loud AJ chants before he was joined by the man who took the TNA title from him, Chris Harris the former TNA champion walked out on to the stage in a blazer and jeans and stood opposite AJ. Chris Harris easily rivals CM Punk as the most hated man in TNA wrestling. Borash hyped this match as the self-proclaimed face of TNA wrestling Chris Harris against the widely regarded face of TNA wrestling, AJ Styles. Chris Harris| Harris took his place behind the podium and ‘The Professional’ soaked in the negative response from the crowd. Harris started off by telling AJ Styles it was good to see him again. Harris loves making his doubters, pointing out at the crowd look like fools. Time and time again people question Harris or write Harris off, Harris when will everyone learn never to question Chris Harris and learn that everything Harris is saying is going to happen and years from now everyone will look back over the history of TNA Total Non-Stop Action wrestling and will agree that Chris Harris is unquestionably, undoubtedly, undisputedly the face of TNA Total Non-Stop Action wrestling and not anyone else especially AJ Styles who can’t keep his word to his fans and has never beaten Harris! AJ Styles| AJ laughed at Chris Harris’ comments. AJ reminded Chris Harris that Roddy Piper once told Harris that AJ Styles doesn’t have to tell everyone he is great while Chris Harris cannot stop telling people how great he is, Pipers point was if your great people will know and you will not have to tell people and the same goes for the “Face of TNA wrestling”. AJ has never and will never claim to be the “face” but he knows that Chris Harris is not the face of the company he helped build from the ground up the strongest wrestling promotion in the world TNA Total Non-Stop Action wrestling. AJ is looking forward to getting back in the ring he’s feeling good mentally and physically and while AJ is now at peace over not being the current TNA champion doesn’t mean he doesn’t want the TNA title back especially now TNA will be performing in front of a bigger audience week in and out. So at TNA Bound for Glory, AJ is going to beat the man who profited from AJ being screwed out of the TNA title and made is name of it. AJ vowed that TNA Bound for Glory will be phenomenal! Announcers Review| Mike Tenay & Shane Douglas were delighted to see AJ Styles back and competing at TNA Bound for Glory, both AJ and Harris want to regain the TNA title and a victory over the other on the biggest stage of them all will 100% help their cause. Douglas also touched on the “face of TNA wrestling” and said that regardless of what people think of Chris Harris mentioning it over and over he has a goal in mind and a victory over AJ Styles plus his previous accomplishments will definitely see many regard Chris Harris as the face of TNA Total Non-Stop Action wrestling! SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2005| TNA IMPACT DEBUTS ON SPIKE T.V!! SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2005| TNA IMPACT| MAIN EVENT| TNA CHAMPION V TNA T.V CHAMPION| JAMES STORM V CM PUNK!
MAIN EVENT| TNA CHAMPIONSHIP C| JAMES STORM V SAMOA JOE
Before James Storm and Samoa Joe were introduced a video played looking back over Samoa Joe’s time in TNA Total Non-Stop Action wrestling. Joe debuted in June at TNA Slammiversary and in that time Joe has won every match he’s competed in, 100% record, Joe won a Battle Royal to gain entry into the TNA Championship Series after Storm had Low Ki pulled from the Series and Joe won every match in the Series beating former TNA & TNA T.V champions in the process before beating Christopher Daniels in the finals of the TNA Championship Series!
Samoa Joe the top contender to the TNA title walked out first, Joe always looks disgusted. Joe just wearing black shorts with a plain black t-shirt just walked straight to the middle of the stage and waited for James Storm. Storm came out moments later to a huge ovation. Storm was having fun the ‘Tennessee Cowboy’ came out carrying his TNA title and drinking a beer. Joe was getting frustrated with Storm taking his time and playing for the crowd. Storm in his custom made Cowboy hate stood opposite Joe with a huge smile on his face but Joe who was getting frustrated again like TNA Sacrifice just zoned in on the TNA title on Storm’s shoulder, Joe’s eyes were locked on the TNA title and Storm’s smile quickly disappeared. Storm removed the title and Joe’s eyes just followed the TNA title to the table where Storm placed it, Storm started poking Joe in the chest telling Joe to look him in the eye like a man. Storm was getting quite wound up so Borash asked both men to take their place behind their podium. Storm took his place but Joe who we have never heard off just walked off left the stage again angering Storm. James Storm| Storm called for Samoa Joe to come back, show some balls and look him in the eye like a man! Samoa Joe may want Storm’s TNA title everyone in TNA does but the reality is the TNA title is going nowhere! Joe may have ran through everyone he’s competed against but Joe has never got in the ring with the ‘Tennessee Cowboy’ and Joe has never competed at TNA Bound for Glory! Storm is having too much fun as TNA champion to let go of this title now, Storm mentioned he and Low Ki need to battle again after Punk screwed them over but Storm would settle that tomorrow night on TNA IMPACT when he beats CM Punk. Storm told Samoa Joe to watch what he does to CM Punk because Joe was next. Storm finished up by thanking everyone for coming out and said TNA Bound for Glory, top to bottom promises to be the biggest night of the year but before then Storm will see everyone tomorrow night on SPIKE T.V! Announcers Review| Mike Tenay & Shane Douglas now also joined by Jeremy Borash discussed the Main Event of TNA Bound for Glory, for the TNA championship, champion James Storm who has been champion since early November last year and has beaten names like Chris Harris, Jeff Hardy, Christopher Daniels & AJ Styles will defend his TNA title against the undefeated top contender Samoa Joe! Joe has destroyed everyone he has been in the ring with from Jeff Hardy to Chris Harris to Christopher Daniels and Joe is zoned in on taking the TNA title from James Storm. Normally after what they have seen from Joe they would be sure that Joe would win the TNA title at TNA Bound for Glory but James Storm has a habit of surprising people and never giving up he also has the experience of competing in last year’s TNA Bound for Glory Main Event. The announcers wondered who would be classed as the favourite and they couldn’t decide before they quickly ran through the 2005 TNA Bound for Glory once again which will be live on Pay per View on Sunday 23rd October before finishing up by telling everyone to tune into TNA IMPACT tomorrow on SPIKE T.V!

- RECORED INTERVIEW|CM Punk sat down with Mike Tenay earlier in the week to discuss his recent actions against TNA management, costing Low Ki the TNA title and whether or not his match with Low Ki at TNA Bound for Glory is the biggest match of his career. Punk told Tenay that he 100% believes he is the victim in this entire situation which surprised Tenay. Punk admitted that his actions are not always the ideal way to respond to something you don’t like but Punk told Tenay if Punk had beat James Storm but Storm’s foot was under the ropes there would have been a meltdown same if hadn’t to Low Ki or AJ Styles, Tenay and everyone would have been calling for an immediate rematch and if Storm, AJ, Low Ki attacked Punk people would have seen it as them getting their revenge! Punk was screwed against James Storm but when he tried to get his revenge Low Ki attacked him! Low Ki hit him first! Punk gets that people don’t like him because Punk’s outspoken and doesn’t play by the rules but there is a simple rule in life you hit CM Punk, CM Punk is going to hit you back twice as hard so Low Ki got exactly what he deserved if CM Punk can’t have the TNA title than why should Low Ki! Punk asked himself the question whether his match next week against Low Ki is the biggest match of his career and Punk answered with a “yes” before elaborating by saying that his match against Low Ki will make or break his career and may see his time here in TNA come to an end but what everyone is going to learn at TNA Bound for Glory is that this is CM Punk’s world and everyone else is just living in it because Punk will beat Low Ki and Punk will achieve his mission in life as going down in history as the greatest professional wrestler off all time!

MATCH 1| 10 MAN TAG| BRIAN KENDRICK, DOUG WILLIAMS, DUSTIN RHODES, HERNANDEZ & RON KILLINGS V ALEX SHELLEY W. ANGELINA LOVE, ANTONIO BANKS, KEN PHOENIX W. ALEXIS LAREE & WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (EDDIE COLON & SHAWN DAIVARI) W. NORMAN SMILEY| In the first surprise of the evening Antonio Banks was revealed as the fifth member of Team Shelley. Banks formerly of Alpha Male Enterprise has not been seen since walking out on Monty Brown at last year’s Bound for Glory event. Alex Shelley before the match was very aggressive towards Angelina Love, telling Love to stay out of the match and to not argue with Alexis Laree like last night on TNA IMPACT.
All 10 men in the match are talented and are all looking to improve their standing in TNA especially the likes of Alex Shelley, Brian Kendrick, Doug Williams and Hernandez who have the potential to go on and achieve great things. Williams and Kendrick have responded well to recent disappointment while Shelley seems to be getting side tracked by issues involving his “P.I.C” Angelina Love while Hernandez has been quiet since finishing bottom of the 2O05 TNA Championship Series.
Fun match but it was noticeable that Hernandez was not interested resting on the ropes throughout the match before jumping of the apron seemingly walking out on his team mates only for Doug Williams to confront Hernandez at ringside which caused the match official to leave the ring to deal with the situation. Alex Shelley wanted to take advantage of the situation and demanded Love pass him his cane to use on Kendrick who has helped Angelina Love recently so she was hesitant to help which led to an argument again between Shelley and Love with Alexis Laree screaming at Love too, Kendrick took advantage and dropped Shelley with his Slice Bread No.2 only for Ken Phoenix to clear Kendrick from the ring, everyone started hitting their moves and just as Williams turned to re-enter the match Hernandez floored Williams from behind as Antonio Banks hit Ron Killings with his Exploder suplex for the victory. RESULT| ALEX SHELLEY, ANTONIO BANKS, KEN PHOENIX & WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (EDDIE COLON & SHAWN DAIVARI) BEAT BRIAN KENDRICK, DOUG WILLIAMS, DUSTIN RHODES, HERNANDEZ & RON KILLINGS VIA PIN FALL
Post-match fans booed Hernandez as he strutted backstage after costing his team the match by dropping Doug Williams from behind. Alex Shelley would not allow Angelina Love to celebrate with the winning team and demanded she head backstage, as she was leaving Angelina quickly checked on Brian Kendrick who was sitting at ringside while Shelley continued to scream at Love to leave. Antonio Banks has returned tonight after a one year absence and the former “MVP of AME” has led his team to victory.
Footage was shown of Bobby Roode, Chris Sabin, Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy, Team 3D (Brother Devon & Brother Ray), Chris Harris, Christopher Daniels and TNA Tag Team champions GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong) arrive at the arena throughout the day ahead of tonight’s Pay per View. Chris Sabin quickly spoke with TNA.Com and told them he was delighted that Christopher Daniels continues to disrespect him and ignore him because it will make tonight’s victory even sweeter. MATCH 2| MONTY BROWN V ELIX SKIPPER| Elix Skipper & Monty Brown as apart of Alpha Male Enterprise are former TNA Tag Team champions, the second ever and they held the TNA titles from the 16th April 2003 to 1st September 2004 close to 17 months losing the titles to GREATNESS after Skipper injured his knee towards the end of the match. Monty Brown would later call Skipper weak, kick him out of AME and then brutally attacked the injured Skipper with the AME medallion Skipper used to wear until Skipper was a bloody mess before then giving the medallion to his “MVP” Antonio Banks. Monty Brown accepts he has made mistakes in his past but the ‘Alpha Male’ has refused to apologise but realises that his past mistakes may come back to haunt him.
Elix Skipper looking for revenge jumped Brown straight after the bell in the corner, Brown kept pushing Skipper off but he kept coming back. Intense short match. Skipper being blinded by rage was allowing Brown to drop Skipper with big, high impact moves but much to the shock of Brown, Skipper kept getting back up and launching himself at Brown but ultimately Brown caught Skipper with his Pounce before putting his former partner away with his Alpha Bomb. RESULT| MONTY BROWN BEAT ELIX SKIPPER VIA PIN FALL
Monty Brown tried checking on Elix Skipper after the match but Skipper wasn’t interested shrugging Brown’s attempts off before rolling out of the ring upset that he never managed to gain any revenge tonight. Mike Tenay noted how he believes that Monty Brown now realises the pain his actions caused, Brown didn’t celebrate the victory and as Monty Brown was exiting the ring Antonio Banks walked out on to the stage and held up the blood stained AME medallion! Confusing Monty Brown and the announcers who wondered what Antonio Banks actions actually meant.
TNA T.V champion, CM Punk, Low Ki and AJ Styles were all shown backstage getting ready for their matches later tonight. CM Punk refused to talk with TNA.Com while AJ Styles told TNA.Com that he was excited to get back inside the ring tonight, saying he feels good and he fully expects to beat Chris Harris, right that wrong and prove to everyone that Chris Harris should never have become the TNA champion.
Jeremy Borash noted that up next we would see the first ever tag team Gauntlet for the Gold match, one team would make history and become the Top Contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles in the process. Rules are 2 teams start the match, then every 60 seconds after a new team enters, elimination occurs when you are thrown over the top rope and BOTH feet hit the floor, until we are down to the final 2 competitors which at this point their partners would re-join the match and they would they meet in a one fall to a finish match to determine the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles…

NUMBER 1| INTERNATIONAL HUSTLERS (SONJAY DUTT & TJ PERKINS) NUMBER 2| BAD STREET BOYS (CHRISTIAN YORK & JOEY MATTHEWS) Bad Street Boys have made it clear they want another TNA Tag Team title shot but were only willing to do things the “easy way” but if they want to become the top contenders tonight they will have to do things the “hard way” as they and International Hustlers drew the short straws. Fun opening minute before countdown clock appeared on the screen.
NUMBER 3| ERIC YOUNG & PETEY WILLIAMS W. COACH D’AMORE The first official appearance of Coach D’Amore’s new team, Eric Young has put his trust in D’Amore after D’Amore promised Bobby Roode he would take care of the unstable Eric Young. Young and Williams laid into both teams, still no eliminations at this point. NUMBER 4| BROTHERS IN ARMS (BG & KIP JAMES) BG & Kip ran out and were a house on fire, dropping everyone. The former multi times Tag Team champions were taking control of the match, they are desperate to add the TNA Tag Team titles to their legacy. After their initial flurry the match calmed down again, four teams 8 men were now in the ring. NUMBER 5| DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH (JOHNNY SWINGER & SIMON DIAMOND) Diamonds in the Rough making their return to TNA wrestling, the announcers were a little surprised and was not sure how long Diamond & Swinger were back for but they agreed it probably all depends on how they perform tonight. NUMBER 6| BRISCOE BROTHERS (JAY & MARK BRISCOE) The first ever tag team signed by TNA were in next and they like Brothers in Arms were taking down everyone and they quickly worked together to dump Johnny Swinger from the match and the first elimination of the night was quickly followed by the second after Petey Williams caught Sonjay Dutt with his Canadian Destroyer allowing Young to toss Dutt to the floor. ELIMINATION| RAY GORDY (KIP JAMES) ELIMINATION| SILAS YOUNG (JAY BRISCOE) ELIMINATION| JOHNNY DEVINE (KIP JAMES)

ELIMINATION| CHRISTIAN YORK (TJ PERKINS) ELIMINATION| ANDY DOUGLAS (MARK BRISCOE)
NUMBER 10| SMASH & GRAB (BRENT ALBRIGHT & LANCE ARCHER) Albright & Archer entered the match and made an immediate impact Archer smashed through Kip James with a running boot while Albright grabbed hold of TJ Perkins and quickly eliminated the last member of International Hustlers while Archer broke up the Briscoe’s momentum and eliminated his former Heroes for Villains team mate Mark Briscoe. NUMBER 12| ZERO GRAVITY (MATT SYDAL & PAUL LONDON) Zero Gravity the former TNA Tag Team champions were in next and were immediately after revenge on Albright & Archer after the two attacked them at the last TNA Pay per View, TNA No Surrender. London & Sydal were all over Albright & Archer and then had support from Delirious & Shark Boy too before Jay Briscoe helped out. Coach D’Amore was advising Young and Williams who had been in the match since number 3 to rest while Joey Matthews made the mistake of trying to help SMASH & Grab and was quickly dumped out by Jay Briscoe ELIMINATION| JOEY MATTHEWS (JAY BRISCOE)
NUMBER 13| WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (CLIFF COMPTON & RYAN O’REILLY) W. While Lynn & Red were looking for revenge a couple of eliminations occurred Lance Archer eliminated Shark Boy, Zero Gravity eliminated Ryan O’Reilly then Jerry Lynn continued to annoy Coach D’Amore by eliminating Petey Williams. Williams jumped straight on the ring apron which distracted Lynn and allowed Eric Young to dump Lynn to the floor. Officials ordered Petey Williams backstage ELIMINATION| DELIRIOUS (LANCE ARCHER) ELIMINATION| RYAN O’REILLY (ZERO GRAVITY) ELIMIANTION| PETEY WILLIAMS (JERRY LYNN) ELIMINATION| JERRY LYNN (ERIC YOUNG) NUMBER 15| BOX OFFICE (JOHNNY CURTIS & ROBBIE ECKOS) W. Remaining in the match now with all teams entered were Eric Young, Jay Briscoe, Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane, Brent Albright, Lance Archer, Shark Boy, Matt Sydal, Paul London, Cliff Compton, Amazing Red, Johnny Curtis & Robbie Eckos.
Cliff Compton was the first out of the final 13 to be eliminated much to the annoyance of Norman Smiley but to the delight of the crowd because it was the unlikely Shark Boy who dumped Compton. Lance Archer quickly ruined the mood however by eliminating Shark Boy. Don Callis made Lance Archer a favourite to reach the final stage of the Gauntlet due to his performance tonight. ELIMINATION| CLIFF COMPTON (SHARK BOY) ELIMINATION| SHARK BOY (LANCE ARCHER)
Mike Tenay reminded everyone that if Zero Gravity were victorious tonight due to the stipulation they cannot face GREATNESS ever again, Zero Gravity would receive their shot once GREATNESS had lost the titles but that seemed unlikely after New Millennium teamed together again to dump Paul London. New Millennium are wrestling a smart match. Crowd were gutted Paul London had been eliminated. At this point Eric Young & Jay Briscoe had been in the match the longest period. ELIMINATION| PAUL LONDON (NEW MILLENNIUM)
A few eliminations come and thick and fast, Amazing Red eliminated Johnny Curtis while Matt Sydal eliminated his partner Robbie Eckos. Box Office and Johnny Fairplay threw a fit at ringside after the eliminations. SMASH & Grab were finally cut in half after Jay Briscoe managed to drag Brent Albright over the top rope to the floor. Announcers claimed New Millennium and Lance Archer were the favourites now to go on and win the match and they seemed to be proved right when Archer nearly took Red’s head off allowing Young to toss Red to the floor afterwards Young celebrated eliminating both members of the first ever TNA Tag Team champions but New Millennium quickly took advantage and flipped Young to the floor. Young went crazy afterwards and had to be escorted backstage by officials. ELIMINATION| AMAZING RED (ERIC YOUNG) ELIMINATION| ERIC YOUNG (NEW MILLENNUM)
Seemed New Millennium and Lance Archer were now guaranteed to head to the final stage as Jay Briscoe was exhausted from being in the match the longest at this point while Sydal had been taken apart since Paul London’s elimination. Archer, Kazarian & Shane started to stalk the fallen Briscoe & Sydal when New Millennium quickly grabbed Archer and tossed Archer to ringside! New Millennium have a 50% chance of winning this match without it needing to go to the final stage. ELIMINATION| LANCE ARCHER (NEW MILLENNIUM)
New Millennium (Kazarian & Shane) toyed with both Briscoe & Sydal and after Kazarian dropped both with separate bicycle kicks, Kazarian went after Briscoe while Shane went after Sydal both mocking their fallen opponents but Kazarian took his eye of the ball which allowed Briscoe to toss Kazarian to the floor which caused Shane to get caught between two mind sets whether to go after Briscoe or stay on Sydal he decided to turn his attention back to Sydal and ran at Sydal only for Sydal to drop and Shane to fly over the top rope! New Millennium will not be leaving TNA Bound for Glory as the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles and they only have themselves to blame. Briscoe & Sydal both on their backs were quickly joined by their partners Mark Briscoe & Paul London for the final stage of the gauntlet… ELIMINATION| FRANKIE KAZARIAN (JAY BRISCOE) ELIMINATION| MICHAEL SHANE (MATT SYDAL)
MATCH 3| TOP CONTENDERS MATCH| GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD MATCH| FINAL STAGE| BRISCOE BROTHERS (JAY & MARK BRISCOE) V ZERO GRAVITY (MATT SYDAL & PAUL LONDON)| Really fun but short final stage of the Gauntlet which really wet the fans appetite for a longer match between both teams. Both teams also had the same game plan of trying to single out the more exhausted member of the team either Jay Briscoe or Matt Sydal and it paid off for Zero Gravity after Paul London managed to pin Jay following his 450 splash. Zero Gravity have earned the right to challenge for the TNA Tag Team titles while the Briscoe’s stock continues to rise. Following the match both teams showed respect to one another, which continues to show the growth of the Briscoe’s. Zero Gravity will now be in line for a TNA Tag Team title shot as soon as GREATNESS have lost the TNA Tag Team titles. RESULT| ZERO GRAVITY WON GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD - LASTLY ELIMINATING BRISCOE BROTHERS
Zero Gravity continued to celebrate their victory as Jeremy Borash voice closed out the pre-show before telling everyone to join them live on Pay per View momentarily for TNA’s biggest event of the year TNA Bound for Glory 2005! TNA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING PRESENTS… TNA BOUD FOR GLORY 2005 – LIVE ON PAY PER VIEW! The same video which kicked off the TNA Bound for Glory pre-show again opened the Pay per View looking back over the last year of some of the men competing on tonight’s card including AJ Styles, Chris Harris, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Jeff Hardy, Sting, TNA T.V champion, CM Punk, Low Ki, Samoa Joe and TNA champion, James Storm! Video also included recorded comments from all men ending with James Storm telling Samoa Joe he would not allow Joe to take the TNA title from him before the video ended with footage from TNA IMPACT last night which went off the air with James Storm trapped in Samoa Joe’s Coquina clutch!
Fireworks went off around the arena as Jeremy Borash’s voice welcomed everyone to the biggest night of TNA’s year TNA Bound for Glory 2005. Borash now shown at ringside joined with announcers Mike Tenay & Don Callis all dressed in their best hyped tonight’s card, 9 matches all of which could headline any other TNA Pay per View. Borash noted that Tenay & Callis would call the action while ‘The Franchise’ Shane Douglas would be conducting pre and post-match interviews while noting that later tonight Borash would get to share TNA management’s huge announcement! TIME LIMITS| All TNA title matches will have a 30 minute time limit while all other matches will have a 20 minute time limit! MATCH 4| INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE| JUSHIN ‘THUNDER’ LIGER V NIGEL McGUINNESS| Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger came out first to a very loud and respectful reaction from the crowd. The Japanese legend was welcomed with Japanese flags being held up on the stage and once in the ring Liger was covered in streamers from the crowd and handed a bouquet of flowers by a Japanese ring girl. Liger the multi time IWGP Jnr-Heavyweight champion being shown great respect by TNA management and the fans in attendance. McGuinness the ‘British Hooligan’ was out next, was all business and showed Liger no respect.
Good opening match, good test for McGuinness who performed well during the TNA Championship Series and the Total Elimination match at TNA No Surrender. McGuinness targeted Liger’s left shoulder throughout the contest running Liger into the ring post outside of the ring to get the advantage. Liger looked good hitting McGuinness with a middle rope drop kick and coming close to the victory following an elevated DDT but Liger’s left shoulder hurt after every move and it ended up costing Liger after Liger went for a top rope hurricane-rona but McGuinness held on and Liger landed on his shoulder allowing McGuinness to pull Liger into the middle of the ring and trapping Liger in his London Dungeon and while Liger tried to fight the move he had no choice but to tap out. Huge win for Nigel McGuinness making the Japanese legend, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger tap out on the biggest stage of the year. RESULT| NIGEL McGUINNESS BEAT JUSHIN ‘THUNDER’ LIGER VIA TAP OUT
Nigel McGuinness spoke with TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas afterwards at the top of the ramp, McGuinness quickly told Douglas that people shouldn’t be surprised that he has just made ‘The Legend’ tap out! McGuinness doesn’t care about the past, doesn’t care about crowd reactions, every man is a target for Nigel McGuinness, McGuinness finished cryptically being saying “one man more than anybody else”.
Tenay & Callis congratulated Nigel McGuinness on his victory before wondering who McGuinness could be targeting next. Tenay and Callis quickly ran through tonight’s card while men competing in them matches including TNA Tag Team champions, GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong), Team 3D (Brother Devon & Brother Ray), Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris, AJ Styles, TNA T.V champion, CM Punk, Low Ki, Samoa Joe and TNA champion, James Storm were shown either backstage or arriving at the arena earlier today. Up next we would see the first ever Monsters Ball match…
Video aired looking at the history leading up to tonight’s Monsters Ball and it all revolves around Jim Mitchell. Jim Mitchell brought Abyss into TNA wrestling and together they dominated but after Abyss failed to end Sting’s career and lost to Low Ki in a Last Man Standing match. Mitchell decided that Abyss needed to be put down so turned to Chris Hero and Heroes for Villains. Abyss wouldn’t go down easily and worked his way through H4V before getting to face Chris Hero. Mitchell now frustrated with how long it was taking to “put down” Abyss turned to Rhino! Rhino attacked Abyss which led to a match between the two men, Abyss still couldn’t accept Jim Mitchell turning his back on him. During the Abyss/Rhino match, Chris Hero took things to a new level, wanting to prove that he was the devil and not Jim Mitchell and angry that Mitchell turned to Rhino, Hero attacked Jim Mitchell backstage caving Mitchell’s head in with a chain. Jim Mitchell has not been seen since. 24 hours ago Abyss, Hero and Rhino were locked in individual cages within the same room but before entering the cages a brawl between the 3 broke out…
Footage was shown from the last 24 hours of Abyss, Chris Hero and Rhino being locked within the same room in individual cages. Abyss was struggling to cope while Chris Hero sickly described to Abyss how it felt to smash in the skull of his Father figure Jim Mitchell… MATCH 5| MONSTERS BALL| ABYSS V CHRIS HERO V RHINO| All 3 men were intent on killing each other, Abyss didn’t wait for the bell he just went for both men. Don Callis wished the match official luck controlling this match. Very quickly the 3 men were brawling at ringside and at one point even in the crowd. Dust bins and the ring steps were the first weapons used. Rhino was thrown into the wall in the crowd which left a huge dent at one point which allowed Abyss to have Chris Hero alone, Abyss was quick to pull out a table, a black bag which was likely full of tacks intent on hurting Hero. Abyss didn’t get Hero alone for long because Rhino returned and sent Abyss through a table with a Gore! Violence continued throughout the match Rhino later put Hero through a table at ringside with a spine buster before Abyss dropped Rhino on thousands of tacks with a Black Hole slam. Chris Hero’s chain came into play as did a barbwire board, Hero managed to catch Rhino with his roaring elbow with the chain wrapped around his arm knocking the “War Machine” out cold but Hero turned into a Black Hole slam from Abyss on to the barbwire board giving ‘The Monster’ Abyss the victory and some revenge over the men who have spent the last year trying to “put him down”. RESULT| ABYSS BEAT CHRIS HERO & RHINO VIA PIN FALL
Abyss rolled out of the ring with no celebration as TNA paramedics were in the ring checking on both Chris Hero and Rhino following one of the most violent matches in TNA history. TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas was standing by backstage with Jeff Jarrett…
Moments before the last wrestling match of his career Jeff Jarrett was asked by Shane Douglas whether after this match whatever the outcome would Jarrett be able to be professional towards Bobby Roode with his new role with TNA management. Jarrett told Douglas that he is not thinking about tomorrow at the minute, Jarrett is excited about the future and getting to help TNA grow but all Jarrett is focused on tonight is ending his in ring career on the highest note possible with a victory over Bobby Roode. MATCH 6| RETIREMENT MATCH| JEFF JARRETT V BOBBY ROODE| Coming into tonight’s match despite Bobby Roode holding a victory over Jarrett during the TNA Championship Series, Jarrett is the man in form winning his last 3 matches while Roode has only won 1 of his last 5. Roode does have the better overall win rate of 52% to Jarrett’s 48% but Roode the former TNA T.V champion needs to improve if he wants to be challenging the best TNA has to offer.
Good wrestling match, complete 180 from the Monsters Ball previous. Fans were strongly behind the retiring former World champion hoping to see Jarrett go out with a victory. Roode was on form tonight with the world watching. Roode scored the first near fall following his block buster, Jarrett came back by countering Roode’s fisherman suplex by picking Roode’s leg and locking him in a figure four but Roode managed to make it to the ropes. Roode broke hearts again shortly after, Jarrett avoided Roode’s lariat to the back of the head and quickly dropped Roode with his Stroke which has won Jarrett many titles only for Roode to kick out at the last second! Jarrett couldn’t capitalise and shortly after fell victim to a spine buster from Roode before Roode finally put Jarrett away with his Fisherman suplex. RESULT| BOBBY ROODE BEAT JEFF JARRETT VIA PIN FALL
Following one of the most important victories of his career Bobby Roode spoke with TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas on the stage. Douglas asked Roode what was next for him, the world Roode answered saying he’s taking it all. Roode is the most calculated and dangerous man in the business and may not be tomorrow but some point Bobby Roode will stand alone at the top of TNA wrestling!
Jeff Jarrett was shown waving at the fans in the ring to a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance as Mike Tenay thanked Jarrett for his contributions to TNA wrestling before wishing Jarrett good luck in his new role with TNA management.
Video aired looking back over the history between Chris Sabin and Christopher Daniels leading to their match tonight. Back in February, Sabin was scheduled to defend his TNA T.V title against the first ever TNA champion but Daniels was on strike over not getting a TNA title shot so no showed the match which led to Sabin claiming Daniels had no balls! In July the TNA Championship Series kicked off with Sabin facing Daniels and Daniels humbled Sabin, not only did Daniels beat Sabin but left Sabin a bloody mess pretty much costing Sabin advancing in the TCS as it took Sabin weeks to fully recover. Instead of coming for revenge Sabin showed maturity and admitted his comments may have been out of line and wanted to earn the respect of Daniels and prove to everyone that Sabin belongs at the same level as the ‘Fallen Angel’. Tonight Sabin gets his chance but Daniels has made it clear tonight he is looking to hurt Sabin again to make sure Daniels is the talking point coming out of TNA Bound for Glory and in line for a future shot at the TNA championship… MATCH 7| CHRIS SABIN V CHRISTOPHER DANIELS| While the record books show that Daniels and Sabin have faced 4 times with Sabin winning once that was via forfeit and when the two men have actually faced one another Daniels has won all 3 matches. Despite losing twice to Samoa Joe, Daniels the first ever TNA champion’s only loss in recent times has come at the hands of Sabin who pinned Daniels during the Total Elimination match at TNA No Surrender. Both Daniels and Sabin have won 43 matches during their time with TNA but Sabin has lost twice as many as Daniels and Daniels defeats have mostly come in multi man matches or tag matches. Only AJ Styles, James Storm, Low Ki and Samoa Joe have beat Daniels in singles competition over the last 3 plus years.
Really good match, it was clear early that Daniels was overlooking Sabin. Daniels has stated repeatedly that he should be in a higher profile match than facing Sabin but Sabin got Daniels’ attention with a hard slap across the face. Sabin matched Daniels throughout surprising and frustrating God’s gift to professional wrestling. Sabin putting in a big, star making performance tonight looking for the biggest win of his career on the biggest stage, knowing only the best beat Christopher Daniels. The two men exchanged a number of near falls Sabin came close after a tornado DDT and a Michinoku driver while Daniels tried putting Sabin away with his Last Rites and BME to no avail. Sabin hit his Hesitation drop kick and wanted his Cradle shock but Daniels countered quickly dropped Sabin and locked him in his Koji clutch which has made the best tap out including TNA champion, James Storm but Sabin again refusing to lose and showing great heart made his way to the bottom rope. Crowd were 100% behind Sabin but Sabin couldn’t his Cradle shock, Daniels always had a counter but then Sabin surprised everyone by countering Daniels’ Angels Wings with a northern light suplex which resulted in a heart stopping 2 count before Daniels finally managed to drop Sabin with his Angels Wings but unbelievably Chris Sabin kicked out! Arena erupted, the look on Daniels’ face was priceless. Sabin was beat but he was still crawling towards Daniels who immediately scooped Sabin up and spiked him with a second Angels Wings which Sabin had no chance of kicking out from. RESULT| CHRISTOPHER DANIELS BEAT CHRIS SABIN VIA PIN FALL
Great match where Chris Sabin showed that he truly belongs. Tenay reminded everyone that Sabin is only 23 years old and has his entire career in front of him. Chris Sabin earning everyone’s respect tonight but did he earn the respect of Christopher Daniels. Daniels was celebrating his victory when Sabin was helped to his feet. Sabin made his way into the middle of the ring as Daniels was about to leave and offered his hand to Daniels. Daniels stopped and met Sabin in the middle of the ring clearly thinking Sabin’s offer over but Daniels refused the handshakes, smirking at Sabin before turning and exiting the ring, leaving Sabin in the middle of the ring with a smirk on his face because Sabin knows he went up against one of the best in the world today and showed he belonged.
Great match, the atmosphere helped but do did the match being such a 50:50 contest. Both teams put it all on the line both desperate to come out of TNA Bound for Glory as the TNA Tag Team champions. GREATNESS controlled early using their speed but the size advantage of Team 3D allowed them to take over. Team 3D did well to isolate Aries, cutting him off from tagging in his partner Roderick Strong. A part from a one month reign by Zero Gravity, Aries & Strong have held the TNA Tag Team titles since September last year. After Brother Ray missed a senton of the middle rope Aries was able to tag out and not long after both teams started hitting their big moves looking for the victory.
Team 3D hit Strong with a reverse 3D after Strong couldn’t lift Ray for a Gut buster but Strong kicked out, shortly after Ray came close again after catching Strong with his Brother Bomb. GREATNESS came right back and after Aries caught Ray with a roaring elbow which Strong followed up with his running kick, Aries caught Ray with a 450 splash which would have taken the match only for Devon to safe his brother at the last second. Team 3D had Aries set up for their 3D but Strong pulled Aries to safety so they couldn’t hit their move but they shortly after dropped Strong with the Doomsday Device but this time Aries saved Strong. Team 3D were starting to take control. Team 3D had Aries down for their “Wasssup” only for Strong to push Devon off the top rope into the ring, Ray ran at Strong only for Strong to drop down bringing the top rope with him which sent Ray flying over the top rope and Aries immediately caught Ray with a middle/bottom rope suicide dive before quickly re-entering the ring to drill Devon with a running drop kick in the corner before Strong smashed Devon with a Gut buster and Aries impressively spiked Devon with a Brain buster for the victory! GREATNESS did it, GREATNESS retain their TNA Tag Team titles. RESULT| GREATNESS BEAT TEAM 3D VIA PIN FALL – GREATNESS RETAIN TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
GREATNESS both Aries & Strong collapsed in the middle of the ring after hearing the ring bell. Fans were on their feet as the announcers praised the match especially the closing stretch from GREATNESS after Strong saved Aries. Brother Ray just fell short of breaking up the pin fall attempt. Aries & Strong were handed their TNA Tag Team titles and slowly got back to their feet as Team 3D regrouped on the outside of the ring. Don Callis said as great as Team 3D thought they were, they found out tonight they are not GREATNESS! Bad news for Zero Gravity who will have to wait for their opportunity at the TNA Tag Team titles. GREATNESS continued to celebrate with their TNA Tag Team titles as a video package played hyping the next match of the evening pitting Jeff Hardy against ‘The Icon’ Sting in a Dream match…
Jeff Hardy grew up a fan of Sting and was delighted to hear that he would get to face his hero on the biggest stage of TNA’s year TNA Bound for Glory but at the press conference to make the match official as Hardy describes it, Sting verbally hit Hardy in the stomach with a baseball bat when Sting questioned Hardy’s heart. Footage was shown of Hardy tapping out over the last couple of months to the likes of Chris Harris, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe. Hardy convinced himself that Sting was playing mind games ahead of their match but Sting told Hardy that he said what he did to Hardy to motive Hardy claiming that Hardy is living of his reputation built somewhere else and told Hardy he has not proved anything yet here in TNA Wrestling. Sting proved himself now Hardy has to do the same. Hardy calls tonight’s match a must win match now based on Sting’s comments but Sting has told Hardy he won’t win… MATCH 9| STING V JEFF HARDY| Sting and Jeff Hardy both have a win rate around the 70% mark with Sting’s rate a little higher but Sting in singles competition has only been defeated by former TNA champions, Chris Harris and Christopher Daniels while Hardy apart from a victory over CM Punk at last year’s TNA Bound for Glory has come up short in recent high profile matches against the likes of James Storm, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris and Samoa Joe when a lot was expected of Hardy by TNA management.
Hardy putting aside the fact that he grew up idolising Sting was all over Sting at the bell bringing the fight to ‘The Icon’, Sting was on the back foot and Hardy wouldn’t let up even following Sting out of the ring to continue the fight. Sting’s words had clearly lit a fire under Hardy tonight. The two ended up having a really entertaining match more of a brawl than people would have thought going in. Hardy missed a Swanton Bomb early and Sting targeted the back at every opportunity after. Sting scored a great near fall after missing a Stinger splash, Hardy wanted his Twist of Fate but as Hardy spun Sting grabbed Hardy and planted him with his Scorpion Death drop. Sting and Hardy exchanged big moves Hardy caught Sting with his Whisper in the Wind while Sting dropped Hardy with a top rope suplex. Sting managed to catch Hardy coming off the ropes and lock Hardy in his Scorpion Death lock, Hardy was on the verge of tapping but unlike in recent matches Hardy fought off the temptation and made it to the bottom rope even after Sting had pulled Hardy away on the first occasion. Hardy showing the heart tonight that Sting questioned. Tenay wondered whether Sting was questioning how to beat Hardy. Hardy got back into the match and nailed Sting with his Twist of Fate before catching Sting with his Swanton Bomb but at the last second Sting managed to get his leg on the bottom rope, saving the match. Hardy thought it was over and argued the decision with the match official which turned out to be Hardy’s downfall as Sting surprised Hardy with a jack knife roll up for the 3 count when Hardy turned around. RESULT| STING BEAT JEFF HARDY VIA PIN FALL
Jeff Hardy just sat in shock at first before his head dropped in between his legs as Sting had his hand raised in victory by the match official. Mike Tenay said Hardy had nothing to be ashamed of in defeat tonight putting on a great effort against one of the greatest of all time. Don Callis agreed with Sting’s comments in the build up to this match that maybe Hardy will use this result as a wakeup call and kick on from him here. Sting waited for Hardy to get back to his feet and the two men exchanged words in the middle of the ring, the only thing which was clear was Sting telling Hardy he does have heart. Sting and Hardy hugged in the middle of the ring before Sting raised Hardy’s arm before leaving the ring allowing Hardy to take in the respectful ovation from his fans.
While tonight’s match is centred around Low Ki getting revenge on CM Punk it is also being regarded as many as the biggest and most important match of CM Punk’s career because many believe Punk cannot take such another high profile defeat. CM Punk is the reigning TNA T.V champion and holds victories over the likes of Raven in a Last Man Standing match and AJ Styles but when it matters most Punk has failed more times than not. Punk has twice challenged for the TNA title unsuccessfully has failed to win both 2003 Gauntlet for the Gold and the 2004 TNA Championship Series and lost two high profile matches to AJ Styles one a Steel Cage match and the second a match which meant Punk could not challenge for the TNA title in 2005 and CM Punk’s claims that he will go down in history as the greatest professional wrestler off all time. The ultimate revenge for Low Ki tonight would be to take the TNA T.V title from Punk leaving the ‘Second City Saint’ with nothing. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels are the only men who have previously beaten Low Ki in singles competition.
A night of great action but this may have been the best match of them all, Low Ki was desperate for revenge while Punk was desperate to prove he belonged on the same level as Low Ki at the top of TNA wrestling. Tenay and Callis agreed that this was the biggest TNA T.V title match in history and it was all Low Ki early. Low Ki was putting a beating on Punk capped off with a mushroom stomp on Punk at ringside from the ring apron. Punk hit the ringside floor hard and was almost counted out. Low Ki was all over Punk really putting a beating on Punk to the point where it seemed the match official was considering calling the match off until Punk cut Low Ki off when going for a springboard move before running Low Ki off the ring apron sending Ki crashing back first into the security railings. Punk potentially re-injuring Low Ki’s back allowed Punk back into the match. This time it was Low Ki’s turn to just about make it back into the ring on time. Punk couldn’t put Low Ki away he came close after a shining wizard and even closer following an Even flow DDT but Low Ki refused to be beat by Punk. Low Ki came close himself following his Ki Krusher first, a mushroom stomp next and finally his Tidal Wave springboard round house kick but Punk wouldn’t stay down either. Both men were exhausted and running out of ideas when Low Ki caught Punk in his triangle choke the same move Low Ki actually made Abyss tap out to previously but before Low Ki could lock the move in Punk lifted Punk and blocked the choke by power bombing Low Ki into the top turnbuckle before rocking Low Ki in the corner with a running high knee before spiking Low Ki with his Pepsi Plunge (Pedigree) for the most important victory of CM Punk’s career. Crowd were in shock, CM Punk had beaten Low Ki! CM Punk is still the TNA T.V champion. RESULT| CM PUNK BEAT LOW KI VIA PIN FALL – CM PUNK RETAINS TNA T.V CHAMPIONSHIP
CM Punk just rolled off Low Ki’s body, both men beaten up after their war here tonight. Punk had his TNA T.V title placed on his chest but as Mike Tenay noted as prestigious as the TNA T.V title is this victory means more to Punk than retaining the TNA T.V title. Punk has done something tonight that only 2 men have done previously and both former TNA champions. CM Punk tonight without any doubt has shown that he belongs at the top of TNA wrestling and it may just be true that we are all living in CM Punk’s world!
Both CM Punk and Low Ki were helped from ringside by TNA officials as Mike Tenay and Don Callis praised the efforts of both men before turning their attention to tonight’s next match pitting former TNA champion, AJ Styles against another former TNA champion, Chris Harris in a battle to find out who truly is the face of TNA wrestling.
Recorded comments from both AJ Styles and Chris Harris aired with Chris Harris claiming that he is the face of TNA wrestling noting how he was the longest reigning TNA champion and how he defended the TNA title more than any other champion. Harris also beat AJ Styles to become the first TNA champion. AJ said for him it’s not about being called the face of TNA wrestling, AJ has never called himself that if the fans do, AJ said that’s great and a true honour but AJ’s match with Harris for him is all about righting a wrong, the wrong being Chris Harris taking the TNA title from him back in early 2004. Once AJ has done that he can once again focus fully on regaining the TNA championship. MATCH 11| AJ STYLES V CHRIS HARRIS| AJ Styles and Chris Harris’ records are very similar both have a 74% win rate, both have wrestled a similar amount of matches both over 60 and have won a similar amount of matches too. Both men have won a Gauntlet for the Gold match and more importantly both men are former TNA champions but Chris Harris has beat AJ Styles while AJ in two attempts has never beat Chris Harris with their second match going to a time limit draw.
AJ admits that he lost focus after losing the TNA title to Harris due to CM Punk’s interference and did not accept losing the title until losing to James Storm at TNA Slammiversary in June the clean loss actually gave AJ peace of mind. Since then AJ has been home spending some much needed time with his family, with tonight being his first match back.
Really good match between two of TNA’s best, two men who are hungry to once again wear the TNA title. AJ looked great in his first match back while Harris was full of confidence too following his victory in the Main Event of the last TNA Pay per View, TNA No Surrender where Harris won the Total Elimination match. AJ scored the first near fall following his springboard forearm, AJ tried the move again later in the match only to be caught in mid-air by a Spear from Harris but AJ luckily for him managed to pop a shoulder up at the last second. Harris’ Catatonic also proved to be unsuccessful as did a brain buster from Styles. Eventually Harris was looking for his Texas cloverleaf when AJ countered with a hurricane-rona from his back before leap frogging another Spear attempt from Harris, AJ then caught Harris with his Pele kick before smashing Harris with a Styles Clash for the victory. AJ Styles is back and worryingly for the rest of the TNA wrestling is looking better than ever. AJ Styles with a clear mind is genuine threat to the TNA title. Fans were delighted with the outcome as the man they see as the face of TNA wrestling the ‘Phenomenal One’ AJ Styles was victorious. RESULT| AJ STYLES BEAT CHRIS HARRIS VIA PIN FALL
SUNDAY 13TH NOVEMEBER 2005| TNA125 LIVE ON PAY PER VIEW!
Jeremy Borash was now in the middle of the ring ready to share TNA management’s big announcement, also in the ring were two small podiums with a red cloth covering the objects on both podiums. Borash noted how with the move to SPIKE T.V, TNA management took the time during the “shutdown” to get together and discuss ways of improving TNA wrestling, wanting to make sure that they bring the fans the best possible product every week. One thing that TNA management decided was that they want the biggest and strongest roster as possible regardless of look, size, style and experience believing this will bring the best out of everyone on the roster, having to really compete for the lucrative top spots in the company but TNA management decided that the bigger/stronger roster needs something to fight for. So Borash was proud to reveal that TNA was introducing two new Championships! The TNA Heavyweight title and the TNA Jnr-Heavyweight title! Both titles will be treated with equal respect, TNA management will expect the title matches to be able to headline Pay per Views. Borash noted that 220lbs was the cut off for the Jnr-Heavyweight title and anything above would be able to compete for the TNA Heavyweight title! TNA wrestlers have until TNA125 to register what division they would like to be a part of to begin with then an announcement will be made regarding crowning the first ever TNA Heavyweight and TNA Jnr-Heavyweight champions! Borash had removed the red cloths and both titles were proudly on show as the announcers discussed the huge news about the addition of the new TNA titles. Tenay noting that this is just the beginning of the changes that TNA management have promised to implement with the move to SPIKE T.V.
Video played hyping tonight’s Main Event between James Storm and Samoa Joe for the TNA championship. Storm the ‘Tennessee Cowboy’ won the TNA title at TNA Bound for Glory last year beating long-time rival Chris Harris. Since winning the TNA title, Storm has been a fighting champion beating the likes of Jeff Hardy, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Chris Harris and CM Punk. However tonight Storm may be facing his toughest challenge yet, the undefeated Samoa Joe, the winner of the 2005 TNA Championship Series. Joe debuted in June and has a 100% win record beating the likes of Chris Sabin, Chris Harris, Jeff Hardy and Christopher Daniels twice on his way to victory. Who will leave TNA Bound for Glory tonight as the TNA champion? Will James Storm TNA title reign come to an end or will Samoa Joe be defeated for the very first time!
Footage was shown from TNA IMPACT last night on SPIKE T.V and the final confrontation between James Storm and Samoa Joe which saw Joe give Storm a bloody nose with a head butt only for Storm to retaliate with his Last Call super kick only for Joe to rise up behind Storm and lock Storm in his Coquina clutch and TNA IMPACT went off the air with TNA officials trying to free Storm from Joe’s grip. Tenay noted that throughout the night Shane Douglas has spoken with both champion and challenger….
TNA champion, James Storm spoke with Shane Douglas earlier today it was noticeable that Storm was wearing shades to cover his eyes from Joe’s head butt last night. Douglas asked Storm how he was feeling heading into tonight’s match especially after what happened last night on TNA IMPACT. Storm is ready for tonight because Storm knows what needs to happen on a stage like TNA Bound for Glory telling Joe that when Joe walks out tonight and feels the atmosphere and it hits him that tonight is the biggest night of his life then Joe will not be able to swim in them waters. Douglas asked Storm if the undefeated Joe was Storm’s toughest title defence. Storm laughed before telling Douglas to go and ask AJ Styles that question or Christopher Daniels or Low Ki. Storm told Douglas that tonight he leaves still the TNA champion before telling Douglas that James Storm is the biggest threat to Samoa Joe’s undefeated streak….
Storm was a lot more cautious than we had ever seen him before while Joe looked as relaxed as always in the early going there was no evidence at all of Joe being nervous in such a prime position. On a night where we had seen a number of close competitive matches it was surreal to see such a one sided Main Event, especially on the biggest stage of the year. Samoa Joe just dominated the contest, Storm tried staying in the match and hurting Joe but with no luck at no real point did Storm have Joe in trouble and it seemed just a matter of time before Joe took the TNA title from James Storm. At times Joe was even toying with Storm also Storm had to convince the match official not to call the match off at one point. Tenay gave Storm all the credit in the world for trying to stay in the match but Storm had no answer for Joe while Joe was blocking, countering or avoiding anything Storm threw at him.
At one point out of desperation Storm just attempted a Super kick and Joe just stepped to the side as Storm slumped to the mat, it was a sad sight and Storm’s fans were in complete shock. Joe finally put Storm out of his misery and after smashing Storm with a Muscle Buster in the middle of the ring we had a brand new TNA champion! RESULT| SAMOA JOE BEAT JAMES STORM VIA PIN FALL TO BECOME THE NEW TNA CHAMPION
Following the bell some of the crowd were in shock while others were going crazy after an unbelievable dominant performance from Samoa Joe who now is not only undefeated but also the new TNA champion! Joe on his knees seemed to look down at the fallen former TNA champion in disgust while being handed his TNA title by the match official and after having his hand raised in victory and quickly raising the TNA title high above his head Joe rolled out of the ring as if it was just another night at the office.
Mike Tenay and Don Callis questioned who could realistically challenge Samoa Joe for the TNA championship as James Storm was shown on his knees clutching at the match official’s legs seemingly not accepting that the match was over, Tenay said Storm didn’t know where he was as the match official called for assistance. TNA Bound for Glory went off the air as cameras followed the new TNA champion Samoa Joe back up the ramp, Joe ignored the fireworks going off in the arena and didn’t look back once as the biggest show of the year went off the air.
