Vince McMahon:
Welcome to Saturday Night Main Event! What a great show we have tonight to kick off the year. The tournament for the vacant tag titles kicks off tonight with not one but two round one matches. And if that wasn’t enough our main event tonight is a champion vs. champion match, “The Model” Rick Martel vs. the World Wrestling Federation champion Hulk Hogan!
Bobby Heenan:
That idiot Hogan is gonna get it tonight McMahon! The Model’s gonna make him even more ugly. And don’t forget that major announcement from Gorilla Monsoon.
Vince McMahon:
That’s right Brain, our president sent out a memo earlier this week saying he had a huge announcement to make.
Bobby Heenan:
He’s been fired McMahon! He’s gone I’m telling you.
Vince McMahon:
Will you stop it! We’re gonna down to ringside for our first match, a number one contendership match for the Intercontinental title. Whoever wins will meet the model in 4 weeks at the Royal Rumble!
Heenan:
It doesn’t matter McMahon, Martel’s the greatest champ of all time he’s never losing the belt!
Vince McMahon:
Better than Honky Tonk?
Heenan:
There both the best!

Ricky signals to the top rope, he climbs to the top and goes for a flying chop but Beefcake moves at the last second. Both men groggily get to their feet, Steamboat swings for a forearm strike but Beefcake ducks and applies the sleeper. Steamboat tries to reach the ropes but eventually falls to his knees, the ref lifts Ricky’s arm and it drops three times.
Winner by TKO Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.
McMahon:
What a match Brain! And we have our first match for the Royal Rumble. The Model vs. The Barber.
Heenan:
Beefcake better leave his haircutters in the back McMahon, Martel needs his hair.
McMahon:
Well let’s go backstage where Lord Alfred Hayes is with Rick Martel now.
Alfred Hayes:
Rick “The Model” Martel, at the Royal Rumble you will defend your title against Brutus Beefcake but not before you face Hulk Hogan tonight. What are your thoughts?
Rick “The Model” Martel:
You know it doesn’t matter that Beefcake won tonight Hayes, in 4 weeks I’ll slap that idiot smile off his face and look great doing it but tonight I have a chance to knock Hogan off his pedestal and prove to everyone in this arena and everyone at home that beauty is perfection.
Hayes:
Back to Ringside
McMahon:
Up next is the first of two round one match for the Tag Team titles. The Rockers vs. Nasty Boys

Those boys are nasty McMahon and The Rockers are about to find that out.

McMahon:
Right Hand? He hit him with the megaphone!
Heenan:
Do your job and stop being so biased McMahon.
(Macho Man’s music hits and he enters followed by Miss Elizabeth to the biggest pop of the night so far.)
McMahon:
Listen to these fans Brain, they love the Macho Man.
Heenan:
They’re chanting for Elizabeth McMahon, half of this crowd know her intimately.
McMahon:
Oh stop it!
Macho Man:
Ohhhhhh Yea. Tonight, Big Bossman, you and me are gonna dance. Macho Man is gonna teach you a lesson and beat you 1.2.3 in front of all these fans. And when Macho beats you 1.2.3, I’m gonna move on to the Royal Rumble in 4 weeks, just 4 weeks and 29 other men gunning for the Macho Man and he’s gonna beat them all and go to Wrestlemania.
Heenan:
This idiot can’t even speak properly McMahon
Macho Man:
Wrestlemania, main event, Macho Man for the World Title, ohhhh Yea.
(Big Bossman’s music hits and he enters twirling his night stick to a loud negative reaction.)

Heenan:
He learnt that from Flair McMahon.
Vince McMahon:
Just like he learnt his cowardly ways from Flair.
Heenan:
Hey! That’s not fair to flair McMahon
Vince McMahon:
Oh don’t start that. Well I have no idea why Perfect came out here but it looked like he did some real damage to Randy Savage, I hope he’s ok, we’ll keep you updated as and when we are.
Brain:
What a great night McMahon, and still to come Monsoon’s fired!
Vince McMahon:
Will you stop?

They cheated McMahon! Hawk wasn’t legal he had no right to be diving off the top rope.

Heenan:
He’s …
McMahon:
Stop!

McMahon:
This kids got some real talent, he’s gonna go far here Brain.
Heenan:
Nah, he’s too small McMahon.
McMahon:
Well here comes the president of the WWF, Gorilla Monsoon.
Heenan:
He’s not gonna be president much longer McMahon, I can feel it. I’m never wrong!
Gorilla Monsoon:
Ladies and gentleman, the WWF is my life, my passion and my dreams and that is why I give it my everything to bring you the best shows week in and week out. I’ve been here a long time and I’ve seen some amazing things. The growth of Hulkamania, the attempting purchase of the WWF title, identical twin referees! Nowhere else can you see such entertainment alongside the greatest athletes in the business today. Having said all this, it is with a heavy heart that I must resign my position of president of this company. I was informed earlier in the week that someone new has been appointed and if I wanted to continue on I would have to become an assistant to the new president and if I’m right about who that is I just can’t do that. But before I leave let me just say this, the most important voice in this company is the collective voice of every single one of you. So whoever this new president is, if you don’t like them or what they do you make sure you’re vocal about it. Thank you for the best years of my life.
(Monsoon leaves to cheers.)
McMahon:
I can’t … but then who?
Heenan:
I told you McMahon! I’m never wrong; we’ve got a new president.
McMahon:
And I suppose you know who that is?
Heenan:
Of course I do, but that is classified information.
McMahon:
Classified indeed! Well let’s go back to ringside for our penultimate contest.

(Macho Man runs back down to the ring to a huge pop. He takes down Perfect and starts pounding his head. Macho goes for a chair but Perfect retreats through the crowd.)
Heenan:
He really is savage McMahon … what a heinous attack.
McMahon:
That’s payback Brain, Perfect got what he deserved.
Heenan:
Well Macho better enjoy this moment because he’ll never get the better of Perfect again.
McMahon:
Well up next we have our main event, champion vs. champion.
Heenan:
Something big is gonna happen McMahon, I can feel it.
WWF Champion Hulk Hogan vs. I.C Champion “The Model” Rick Martel
Martel comes out to a loud negative reaction. He takes a mic.
Martel:
Tonight … you are all in for a treat. Not only do you get to see the greatest champion of all time but you get to see the best looking champion of all time. I know that you paid to see the model in action and what I do best is please my fans. So before I beat Hogan, let me pose for all of you now.
(Martel poses for a few minutes before Hogan’s music hits and the crowd goes wild.)
Hogan gestures for Martel to give him his best shot, the model slaps Hogan in the face. He goes to slap him a second time but Hogan blocks it and floors him with a hard right hand. Ted Dibiase:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, everyone has a price, even the board of directors at WWE Headquarters. Say hello to your new president of the WWF, me the Million Dollar Man. From now on I have complete control over what goes on in this ring and I thought I better let you know that Hogan. My first business is to announce the main event for the Royal Rumble, for the WWF title, Hulk Hogan vs. The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase.
Vince McMahon:
You’ve got to be kidding me
Heenan:
This is great McMahon, Hogan doesn’t stand a chance.
Dibiase:
Everyone has a price Hogan, and I’ve placed a huge bounty on your head from now till the rumble. You think your friends won’t turn on you, you think you know who you can trust well then I’d stay as close to them as possible because I promise whoever takes you out will have anything they want in this company. The million dollar age has begun and Hogan if you even make it to the rumble I promise that is where Hulkamania will die.
Heenan:
The future is looking brighter and brighter for the WWF McMahon
McMahon:
Maybe for you Brain. But Hogan is gonna have a tough few weeks ahead of him.
Heenan:
He can’t trust anybody! This is great!
McMahon:
Join us next week everyone, until then goodnight.
