I'm pretty sure if they had actually made this - we would have seen it at SDCC. The Honky Tonk Man they had did not have the adjusted suit, so I think that pretty much settles it...

I'm fine with no adjusted one. Granted, I wasn't calling for one in the first place. I'm just glad I got one when they hit retail.

It never happened.
I put in the request to change the jumpsuit art on the next round of jumpusit that were to be made, but the entire run of jumpsuits for this figure were already made by the time I did. When I said that there was going to be a running change made I did so with the assumption it would be be, but as it turned out it did not. Going forward I am only going to confirm running changes when they are found at retail to avoid confusion like this happening again. Bill

To be honest this whole thing is being blown out of proportion on here. It's still a great figure and you managed to fit a lot in when we understand you have a budget to keep. These things happen and given the quality of the mattel product vs the old jakks product you win every time. Plus e23 as a set more than makes up for a missing running change! So basically it's no issue and thanks for letting everyone know the situation.

So basically it's no issue My issue is he lied. I wouldn't have cared if there wasn't a change planned. I'm fine with how it was. It's the lying that gets me.

Bill didn't attempt to mislead us. He made a statement based on his best knowledge at the time. He was wrong on this one occasion. Realistically is it that much of a big deal. First of all at least he communicates with the community directly - how many product designers do this? Secondly it's still a great figure.

He should have came back and corrected himself when he knew it wasn't going to change and not way after. This isn't the first time Mattel has lied. Yes, I'm using the word to mean an inaccurate or false statement. I don't care about intent. They have lied.

I think the major issue with it is not so much that they DIDN'T make a 2nd run with the belt printed on the jumpsuit. It's that some people passed on it because they were waiting for that 2nd run with the Belt, because they thought it was coming. and now to go back and get a Honky, unless they get lucky at retail, they're going to have to pay a larger amount online for him, when they would've just grabbed him in the first place if they knew the 2nd run with belt wasn't happening.

He said he put in the request to have it changed. But it turns out the second production was already done. I'm sure if he had known when he made the statement that the second run had already been done he would have never said anything about a running change to begin with. What it sounds like is he put the request in and they never got back to him saying it was to late so he thought it went through. Maybe he saw this thread and went to find out why they hadn't started hitting retail and found out it didn't go through. It sounds like it was an honest mistake and he just found out about it as well.
