In England we only have McDonalds, Burger King, KFC and Subway. We don't even have Taco Bell, let alone whatever Popeye's is. We do (YY) Only 3 stores though Isn't one in Bluewater or something? Would love to go one time.

Where did you get the idea that dirt poor Mexico is more obese than the United States. Fast food in Mexico is a tiny taco and people are pretty poor so they dont get that many. Fast Food in USA is burgers, Pizza, Hotdogs, Fried Foods, and so on. I drive through states in the USA and see an endless chain of fast food places all along the highway. I drive through states in Mexico and see NOTHING. Just all empty land. If you're lucky you'll see a gas station every 50 miles and they might possibly have some kind of taco seller.

Mexico surpasses US as world’s fattest nationThat article is like Swiss Cheese, full of holes. It starts off by telling you "Some estimates". And also it's from the NY Daily News, never trust anything from NY. Seriously though, maybe in Mexico City but that would be the only place. I drive through Mexico often. There is no invasion of fast food chains. Zacatecas barely got 1 McDonalds not more than 5 years ago. And even then people cant afford to eat there. Big Mac Meal here 5 dollars. Big Mac Meal in Mexico 5 dollars or 80 to 70 pesos. Just look at the numbers. If I work a minimum wage job here I get 7 dollars an hr, so I only have to work about 1 hr to eat at Mcdonalds. A person in Mexico working the same job will prob get 200 pesos a week, so they'd have to work a couple of days to enjoy that same meal from Mcdonalds. And like I already said, there is no massive amount of fast food places in Mexico. I travel here on I35 south going to Mexico, all of Texas I can stop at any exit and find fast food. Enter Mexico get on 85 and there is NOTHING. It's very sad. You have to keep your eyes open for random truck stops which set up overnight and are never in the same place twice, or wait till you drive a few hrs before you see a sign of life or a gast station.

Those give you something to think about. I honestly dont know what to say. Those articles all go by percentages. So it seems flawed to me, I may be wrong, but there is no way that there are more heavy people in Mexico than here. If 3 of 4 people in your group are fat then 75% But if you have 30 fat people in a group of 100 then only 30 percent is fat. So you're telling me that the group with the 75% rating should be crowned fatter? There is no way Mexico has more fat people than the United States. The percentage may be higher, but no way United States has a smaller amount of Fat people than Mexico. Also, I love Popeyes. Spicy chicken all the way. Popeyes chicken has the best fries in all of fast food. The biscuits at popeyes put the biscuits at KFC to shame. And the Chicken is much more flavorfull at Popeyes than at KFC. The worst part of KFC other than bland food, is they usually run out of stuff. And then they rush to make it all so it comes out wrong.

I don't know why you are so dead set on trying to tell us that fact is false.

I don't know why you are so dead set on trying to tell us that fact is false. Well im dead set because the Population in USA is much larger, in numbers, than the pop in Mexico. And also because the first article posted spoke of fast food which is no where near as abundant in Mexico as it is in USA. Nor is it as economicaly viable. And also because when I see these stats/numbers I tend to never bleive them. USA Pop 313.9 million Mexico Pop 112.3 million So as it is USA Out numbers Mexico easily 3 to 1. And per your article Mexico's obesity is 32.8 where as USA is 31.8. And as I told you already, percentages of two different numbers are no way to crown a country fatter. We're talking about around 30 million fat Mexicans compared to 90 million fat americans, yet you.... a person in USA is going to say Mexico is a fatter nation? Who are we trying to kid here? I would feel fine saying that the percentage is higher in Mexico then it is in USA. But the crown belongs to USA.

Is there some kind of award or something they get for saying some other country is fatter than the US? There isn't some world conspiracy to hold Mexico down by labeling them fat.

I never once implied anything about a conspiracy. Nor do I think that who ever made these statistics falsified them. I just think that whoever made the statistics based their claims on fictitious numbers to begin with. I think it is impossible to ever truely know the population of a country, especially countrys as big as USA and Mexico. Look at if the census man comes around to a home and no one is home? Does that Census man make up a number? Or do they leave it blank? Or think of how many people come to USA every day undocumented. It's impossible to know for sure. My feeling is that there is too much room for error for anyone to be able to hold up numbers and claim those estimated statistics are facts.
