As someone who never really followed Chyna's career path away from WWE, and basing it on the contributions of her run, I would say she deserves to be in a DX induction to the HOF.

I'd put in some older wrestlers too like Professor Tanaka - 3 time WWWF tag team champion, 27 regional titles reigns in his career. Tony Garea - 5 time tag team champion over a 14 year WWF career. current WWE road agent. Haystacks Calhoun - he was like Gorilla Monsoon and Hillbilly Jim put together... literally... he was like 640 pounds...

so, would proper protocol have been to create a new thread specific to wwe legends for the 2014 HOF?

Ugh! Why did this get bumped? Because it still is a relative topic. 2014 has not happened yet. Why waste bandwidth creating ANOTHER thread about it? Just use this one.

I too agree that Triple H will not want to be inducted first with D-Generation X. Much like Flair and Shawn, he'll want a solo induction first. That said, I doubt HHH would be inducted at all next year given his current active heel storyline.
So you have your headliner, co-headliner, and celebrity that will make the television show. Then there's about three or four more other inductions. For 30 years of WrestleMania (really 29), I'll make some arguments for 30 potential inductees. I will be keeping the Mid-South territory in mind.
The Ultimate Warrior - Strike while the iron is hot. He seems to be on board with WWE again and there's no telling how long that will last. He has history with Mid-South wrestling as a Bladerunner and of course was WWF Champion and Intercontinental Champion...at the same time. They tried to have him headline the 2010 so I wouldn't doubt they'd have him headline this class.
Muhammad Ali - If his health permits, this would probably be the perfect celebrity inductee for this class. He was the special guest outside referee during the main event of WrestleMania 1. He got in a physical confrontation in a WWWF ring years earlier against Gorilla Monsoon. He battled Antonio Inoki. Then of course he made some special appearances for Mid-South wrestling too.
Paul Bearer - Everyone keeps saying he's a lock for next year but he did once say he'd want to be inducted when the Undertaker goes in. So if they hold off, it's no big deal to me. Though I can see the fan outrage if they don't induct him. He was perhaps the greatest WWF manager of the 1990s.
Jake "the Snake" Roberts - For the most part he has cleaned up his act and I think he did some new commentary for the Mid-South dvd they just released. Like Warrior, might be best to strike while the iron is hot...or the drunk is sober. He might be a good co-headliner with Warrior. I'd probably consider him the bigger attraction but I feel like 2010, if you're gonna put Warrior in he's gonna want to be the headliner.
Sting - Maybe this will be the year Sting finally decides not to sign again with TNA. On the other hand, would he take the co-headliner spot with Warrior above him? It would be interesting to see both Bladerunners inducted in the same year though.
The Fabulous Freebirds - With only Hayes left, the clock seems to be ticking on their induction if WWE wants a live representative. They certainly had an impact in the Mid-South territory with even Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy becoming the UWF champion. Unfortunately their theme song "Badstreet USA" is in court over royalties with a guy who co-wrote the song. Hopefully they can work something out before Mania. Not sure if Jimmy Garvin would be included in the induction though.
Danny Hodge - He is a legend of the territory who attended RAW a few times over the past several years. He's in his 80s so WWE might want to consider this before passing on him. In the tradition of Nick Bockwinkel or Gorgeous George, he'd make an excellent addition to the WWE Hall of Fame.
"The Ugandan Giant" Kamala - I remember reports saying that WWE sent feelers out to him to see if he'd allow an induction. WWE and Kamala have had a rocky relationship regarding pay over the past 30 years. Kamala of course has lost both his legs to diabetes and could probably use the money if nothing else. He also lives close in Mississippi.
Ivan Koloff - He is another one that came close to induction this year. I know he really wants to be inducted according to his facebook posts. He too isn't getting any younger in his 70s. He is of course a former WWWF champion.
The Rock 'n' Roll Express - If the Freebirds induction can't be done, Morton and Gibson would make a great second choice given their history with Mid-South. One of the top ten tag teams of all time.
The Midnight Express - Same with the Rock 'n' Roll Express. Perhaps it would be Condrey, Eaton, and Lane. I know Eaton isn't fairing well these days. Jim Cornette would probably jump at the chance to induct them.
Mr T. - It would be great to induct a celebrity that had a heavy hand in the first two WrestleMania's. About 7 or so years ago he turned WWE down citing that he didn't like Pete Rose being inducted before him. Not sure who would induct him though as he and Piper hate each other.
"Dr Death" Steve Williams - A former UWF champion who certainly has enough fans within WWE to get the nod. Of course if Bearer and the Freebirds are posthumous favorites, Death might have to sit this one out given WWE not liking to induct too many dead guys at once.
Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart - Now if you saw his latest appearance with Bret, he looked like hell. But I can see WWE sending him to rehab and inducting him next year, while incorporating it into Natalya's storyline in Total Divas.
Magnum T.A. - He seems to be fairly popular backstage. His godson is Cody Rhodes. His career may have been cut short but WWE seems to acknowledge him quite a bit on dvds and online articles. He had a good run in Mid-South feuding with Mr Wrestling II.
Mr. Wrestling II - When thinking about Magnums run, his name would come up. I think he lives in Hawaii and had heart surgery a few years ago, but still travels for conventions. So he's a southern legend that could be nominated. Though I'd prefer Hodge.
Cyndi Lauper - She is the most important celebrity to ever lend her name to WWE. The Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection was the house she built for WWE. Putting WWF superstars in her videos would have been enough but she actually participated in several key WWF events like the first ever WrestleMania. It seems like she's open to working with WWE again so it's only a matter of time.
Lou Thesz - With Warrior being a strong headliner candidate, it makes me think back to the class they tried to put together in 2010. Thesz would make an excellent subsitute for Gorgeous George or Antonio Inoki. He may not make the television segment, but he'd bring some prestige and wrestling ability to the class. That said, it's hard to imagine why he hasn't been inducted already. Which makes me fear they've asked his estate and they turned WWE down.
"Hacksaw" Butch Reed - Not to be cynical, but WWE doesn't have a class go by without inducting a minority. So we're going to get a black guy, hispanic, asian, or someone who fits the non-white bill in the 2014 class. Reed had a strong run in Mid-South wrestling and spent several years in the WWF before moving on the Doom.
Big Van Vader - There are two good reasons (outside of his success) to induct him next year. The first being that his son is currently wrestling in NXT. The second is that he's a super heavyweight and he's in his 50s. Stephanie McMahon essentially told Big Show that he won't live that long, and that's the truth. It might be best to induct these living super heavyweights soon.
Mike Rotundo - Aside from being a former WWF tag team champion on several occasions, he's also Bray Wyatts dad. He's also another alumni from Mania 1 who has yet to be inducted.
The Steiner Brothers - They're not my first choice for tag team induction next year, but if everything falls apart with the Freebird induction and WWE doesn't want to do an Express, these two might be their next choice despite Demolition. Not to mention WWE just recently turned down Detroits bid for Mania in 2 years which would have ensured a Steiner induction. Plus Rick has history with Mid-South. There might also be some Superdome/WCW/Steiner big win I'm forgetting.
Hillbilly Jim - Now normally I'd agree on inducting Haystacks Calhoun first since he was far more successful than Jim. But Jim is also the only legend on WWE Legends House who ISN'T in the WWE HoF. Before or if that show ever debuts, it might be nice to induct him so he doesn't stand out so much. WWE seems to love him anyways.
Kevin Nash - Another big guy in his 50s who I believe was considered this year. But since Sammartino accepted they held back on Nash. Former WWF champion and of course there's the NWO gig. He might make a good co-headliner for Warrior.
The One Man Gang - Another big man in his 50s who not only had a successful run in the WWF but was UWF champion. He currently lives in Louisiana so they might consider that as they did other inductions like Abdullah the Butcher in 2011.
Randy "Macho Man" Savage - I know the locker room wants him inducted and Lanny basically said WWE could induct him so long as they keep him out of it if they don't also plan on inducting the rest of the Poffo family. Not like WWE needed his permission. I believe his widow is the ultimate authority. It would be weird if he was co-headliner to Warrior though. If say someone like Rock, Cena, Vince, Taker, or HHH went in, then it would make sense. But playing second fiddle to Warrior seems wrong. WWE doesn't like dead guys going in let alone headlining, but it wouldn't shock me if they convinced Warrior to take the second seat in honor of the dead guy. It might be something Warrior would consider doing.
Miss Elizabeth - I don't want the fans chanting for Elizabeth during Savage's induction. So maybe if they induct her earlier in the night, they can avoid that. I am pretty sure her family is fine with honoring her legacy given they've signed off on a recent video game inclusion and action figures.
Honky Tonk Man - He turned them down in 2010 but I think WWE wants to keep the ball rolling with guys who turned them down in the past after Sammartino and Backlund went in this year. He has no huge connection to the territory but it doesn't matter. Plus he appeared on RAW earlier this year so he's not opposed to taking WWE's money.
John Bradshaw Layfield - They might hold off on this one for Texas, but I can see him possibly co-headlining. He's not a guy who you would say peaked higher than Warrior should Warrior headline and like 2010, he'd be in line with the position Ted DiBiase was in for the planned class. Then of course they can introduce him as a Hall of Famer on RAW too.
Owen Hart - I don't know what was in the settlement WWE and Martha reached last Spring, but I hope it included something about allowing Owen to be inducted. But it's her decision and must be respected.
There's of course plenty of others that I'd want to see inducted, but I don't think their chances for New Orleans are as great as the ones I listed. I mean I'd gladly take a Lord Alfred Hayes induction
