January 2nd, 2012 | FedEx Forum in Memphis Tennessee
- Fireworks explode to signal that the first Raw of 2012 is officially underway. Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to a huge show, headlined by a WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler! Not only that, but we will find out what the cryptic videos we’ve seen over the past few weeks are all about.
- 2012 opens with the WWE’s biggest star, John Cena, as he comes out to a mixed reaction. Cena grabs a microphone and begins to talk about Kane. Ever since Kane returned, he has targeted Cena and says that Cena needs to “embrace the hate”. He loves that the WWE Universe is opinionated and gives him the response they truly feels he deserves. He says that he does embrace the hate because he’s been both hated and loved since day one in the and he’s embraced the bad with the good, but he’s always stayed true to who he is. John promises that he will never change who he is and nothing Kane can do will change that!
- Cena is interrupted by John Laurinaitis, who comes to the stage. He tells Cena that his focus shouldn’t be on Kane right now, it should be on his match later tonight. Laurinaitis announces that John Cena will be facing the World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in a non-title match. As always, Cena looks forward to the competition and hopes that Kane will be watching tonight.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Before our opening contest, Michael Cole reminds us that tonight, we will finally see the debut of Brodus Clay!
- Alberto Del Rio & Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes w/ Ricardo Rodriguez def. Booker T. & United States Champion Zack Ryder >> A solid back and forth tag team contest between four very talented competitors. Del Rio and Rhodes played up their heel roles perfectly, trying to find any possibly way to gain victory. Rodriguez intervened; they pulled tights and raked eyes. The key to their win, however, would be cutting the ring in half and preventing Booker from making the tag. Eventually, the former 6 time World Heavyweight Champion made the tag and the crowd was on fire for Ryder. He came in and took care of business. Despite his rally, the match would end a few minutes later when Rhodes pinned Booker after the Cross Rhodes.
- Cody Rhodes left up the ramp, raising his Championship high in the air and saying that the belt is not going anywhere. Meanwhile, Alberto Del Rio grabbed a microphone and says that his sights are set on the 2012 Royal Rumble. He claims that just like last year, he will outlast 39 other Superstars and go back to WrestleMania. Last year, he claims that Edge got lucky, but this time nothing will get in the way of his destiny.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Scott Stanford is shown backstage and he is standing by with The Miz. He asks The Miz what he thinks about R-Truth’s return and attack last week on Raw. Miz says that it infuriates him that a maniac like R-Truth is not only back, but he’s not even going to be penalized for his heinous assault. Miz says that he broke away from Truth because not only was he holding him back, but he’s an absolute nutcase who can’t be controlled. Miz says that he will be looking over his shoulder for the foreseeable future. During the promo, the cameras could see R-Truth sneaking around behind Miz. As Miz leaves, Truth goes up to Stanford and tells him to shush because R-Truth is using his “stealth” to get to The Miz. Stanford shakes his head as Truth sneaks off.
- Divas Match – Brie Bella w/ Nikki Bella def. Kelly Kelly >> This was your typical Divas contest as it didn’t last too long and wasn’t anything really special. Something significant needs to happen to give this division a shot in the arm. After Kelly held serve for most of the match, a little “Twin Magic” would allow Nikki to replace Brie and nail Kelly with a face buster for the win.
- John Laurinaitis is shown in his office when a knock is heard. In steps Wade Barrett, fresh off of throwing Randy Orton down a flight of stairs and putting him out of action indefinitely. John seems happy to see him and tells Wade that he could use a man like him on Raw, someone who has that ruthless aggression trademark about him. Barrett thanks him and says that it would be an honor if he could because Teddy Long is an absolute joke of a General Manager. Laurinaitis ponders this for a moment and then asks Wade why he wanted to see him. Barrett says that he wanted a match tonight as a showcase for himself, the man who will win the Royal Rumble! Laurinaitis says that he likes his enthusiasm, but tonight’s card is fully booked. He promises Wade a match next week!
- We cut to see a “Tale of the Tape” for tonight’s main event, showing the differences between CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler
- ===COMMERCIAL BREAK===
- World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan is shown backstage with his girlfriend AJ Lee. Bryan is complaining about having to wrestle John Cena tonight, just a few days before his big World Title defense against the Big Show. AJ tries to make him feel better, but Daniel shrugs her off and decides that he needs to take a walk to clear his head.
- Brodus Clay def. Alex Riley >> Brodus has been billed as a bit of a “monster” in the promos before his debut and he was exactly that here tonight. Riley got a few shots of offense in early on, but nothing that would really have any effect on Brodus. Brodus dominated, hitting a huge belly to belly suplex and a huge headbutt as Riley came off the ropes. He wrapped up his first win after hitting the “Fall of Humanity” which is a Tongan death grip transitioned into a chokeslam.
- The announcers put over how dominant Brodus Clay was in his debut tonight, before a graphic appears reminding us of our huge main event, a WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler! But up next, Daniel Bryan takes on John Cena in a non-title match!
- ===COMMERCIAL BREAK===
- Another promo airs for the reveal of the 1/2/12 mystery. According to this promo, the World will come to an end as we know it in the next 30 minutes.
- Non-Title Match – John Cena def. World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan w/ AJ Lee via countout >> Daniel Bryan used to be called the “Best Wrestler in the World” during his indy days and tonight was another example of why. The match started off with some solid back and forth action. Soon though, Bryan continued to display some heel tactics as he pulled the tights at one point and even used AJ Lee as a shield. The crowd began to turn on Bryan a bit more and Cena began to take control. He locked in the STFU but Bryan managed to make it to the ropes. As he got up, Cena hoisted him on his shoulders for the Attitude Adjustment, but Bryan wriggled free and left up the ramp.
- AJ Lee brought Bryan his World Title, which he raised high in the air and celebrated as if he just won something. Suddenly, Mark Henry appears behind him and scoops him up for the World’s Strongest Slam onto the steel! AJ Lee looks on horrified as Henry shouts that the World Title is his
- In the ring, Cena is looking on when he’s attacked from behind by Kane! Kane continues to nail him with clubs to the back until he hoists him up for a Chokeslam. Kane then goes to the outside and pulls out a gas can from under the ring. He pours it over Cena and goes outside to get a match. He’s gonna set Cena on fire! Referees storm the ring to prevent this from happening but they try not to get close so they don’t get burned. Cena is up and he lunges at Kane and the match falls to the ground while they rumble. A referee puts it out, while the rest of them attempt to separate them.
- ===COMMERCIAL BREAK===
- We return to see a quick video recap of the disgusting act that Kane just attempted on John Cena and the ensuing brawl that followed.
- In the back, we see The Miz in the cafeteria with a plate of food and deciding on what to eat. In the background, R-Truth could be seen using his “stealth” to sneak up on Miz. He smashes the plate of food into The Miz’s face, laughs at him, pauses, and then begins to attack The Miz. The fight continues until it is broken up by officials, who are clearly having a very busy night!
- Non-Title Match – WWE Tag Team Champions AirBoom def. Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks >> AirBoom continues to be the WWE’s hottest tag team and their string of good matches and victories continued here tonight. Primo and Epico, along with Rosa Mendes, were at ringside on commentary. They were anti-AirBoom personally, but did show them respect on a professional level. The action inside the ring was fierce as Hawkins and Reks continue to improve and look more polished each outing. They couldn’t put one over on the Champions though as Hawkins fell victim to Trouble in Paradise to end it.
- The cameras cut to a split screen where both CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler are shown walking towards the arena. Our huge main event is up next!
- ===COMMERCIAL BREAK===
- WWE Championship: CM Punk [c] def. Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero >> Future matches on Raw in 2012 are going to be hard pressed to top this one as Punk and Ziggler started off the year with a bang. These two tore the house down and Ziggler was in full “showoff” mode tonight. He utilizes his trademark headstand headlock and hit his set of elbow drops with a hair flick in between. He had multiple near falls as he continually attempted to find ways to win. Ziggler tried nearly every pin imaginable but Punk was resilient. Towards the end, Punk hoisted Ziggler up for the Go To Sleep, but Ziggler got free and connected with the Zig Zag! Punk managed to kick out a split second before three to the crowd’s roar. Ziggler was stunned but began to stalk Punk for another Zig Zag. He went for it, but Punk dodged it and hit the GTS! He covered but Ziggler got his foot on the rope and now Punk was shocked. They traded shots for a bit until Ziggler went for the Fameasser but again Punk dodged and hoisted him for the GTS. He connected and got the three this time!
- CM Punk celebrated with his belt along with the crowd as Vickie helped Ziggler up the ramp. The announcers put over the fight that Ziggler just gave our Champion and say that Punk is in for a wild ride as Champion if he continues to have matches like this.
- Cult of Personality cuts off and the “end of the world” promo airs on the titantron. We see multiple images but the final one we see is a black screen with the white words “It begins” on it. The lights go completely dark and pyro goes off at the top of the stage. When the lights come back on, a man in all black and a hoodie is behind Punk. Punk is confused and turns around, right into a CodeBreaker! The crowd goes wild as they know who it is, and Chris Jericho removes the hoodie to reveal himself. Despite the crowd’s cheering, Jericho’s face is expressionless and he doesn’t have the Y2J energy about him. Michael Cole says something about going to try and get a word with him. As Cole enters the ring, Jericho greets him with a CodeBreaker as well. His expression never changing even slightly, Jericho quietly and slowly, exits the ring and heads up the ramp.

WWE RAW Supershow: Monday 2nd January 2012...It's always good to see your diaries, Kev. I'm also glad to see that you have finally moved on from the excessively long WWE 2008-2010 diary. I liked it and everything, but it began to lose steam after a while, I thought. A fresh start, here we go. I'm a fan of this precise period in the WWE, as the rosters for both shows were solid, and storyline wise, you could do so much. John Cena in the ring to kick off the show is fine - of course reminding me of the abysmal feud Cena had with Kane. John Laurinaitis quickly interrupting Cena was nice, although I wonder where this will leave Kane's position for the evening. I imagine he'll be attending later on tonight. Cena taking on Daniel Bryan? Very interesting decision, given current date events. Although, I'm not sure how I feel about this, as Bryan was technically still a face here. Plus, unless Kane gets involved, Cena will win and break Bryan's new found momentum as World Heavyweight Champion. Alberto Del Rio and Cody Rhodes teaming up to defeat Booker T and Zack Ryder was fine; I hope that you hold off on dropping Ryder down the card too quickly, honestly. I can't see any of these four men winning the 2012 Royal Rumble match, personally. But a nice way to promote Rhodes, Booker, Del Rio and Ryder as potential winners. The Miz's interview was good, I personally would like to see more of Miz's killed-off feud with former Awesome Truth partner, R-Truth. Brie Bella beating Kelly Kelly was expected, nothing special with the Bella Twins getting one over on Kelly. I wonder how this will influence the WWE Divas Championship scene. Wade Barrett demanding a match was nice - I do hope that we can see Barrett's intense feud with Randy Orton continue, and not get killed off. I did enjoy it whilst it lasted. I'm still shocked that it didn't make the card for a pay-per-view; it made SmackDown so worth watching at the time. Ha, good call to keep Brodus Clay with the monster gimmick, I enjoyed it a lot. Clay defeating Alex Riley was expected, not bad. An experiment I'd like to see you try is to re-elevate Riley for the end of the year, that'd be nice to see. John Cena defeating Daniel Bryan was expected, but I liked the cheap count-out finish. The only thing I didn't like about this was that whilst Bryan's heelish mentality began to show more frequently, by using AJ Lee as a weapon; I think Kane should have gotten Bryan disqualified by attacking Cena. Mark Henry jumping Bryan is fine and all, but then having Kane attack Cena almost simultaneously creates quite a messy situation, I personally believe. Ha, R-Truth jumping the Miz was nice to see. A good follow-up from earlier. Air Boom defeating Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks was fine, but not interesting at all. It catapulted Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston as established WWE Tag Team Champions...now, just to find some competition! I think Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler are the most established superstars in that department, in terms of challengers to the gold. And finally, CM Punk defeating Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE Championship was expected, a solid main event. This was where Ziggler really shined as a main eventer with potential, to me, before he dropped down the card not to be seen seriously as a main eventer again for the rest of the year. Ah wow, you went with Chris Jericho assaulting Punk from behind. Alright, that's pretty cool. But now I'm confused how you are going to combat Punk facing Jericho at the Royal Rumble, and somehow holding it off until WrestleMania XXVIII if that's the direction you have in mind. Hopefully so, considering that we now have under four weeks until the Royal Rumble, and Jericho has only just debuted. I liked the write-up for the final segment, detailing Jericho's bizarre personality. Overall, a decent base show as we have our main few storylines...but apart from the two main events, this episode of RAW was quite passable, in my opinion.

You have a nice thing started here but you're going to be hard pressed to stand out among the other 2012 rebookings that are already going on. Hopefully you have something good to make yours different from the others.

For a 1st show for me this was everything it needed to be. When I say it was nothing special I don't mean that in a disrespectful way it didn't need to be.
Peoples current role and level are established and short term plans are advanced.
Of course Jericho's return was the big story and I like what you did.
There are a lot of WWE diaries currently on here and you so it will be interesting to see if you go in a different to others.
Good show and I will be keeping an eye on this

January 6th, 2012 | Barton Coliseum in Little Rock, Arkansas - We are welcomed to the first Smackdown of 2012 by the announce team of Josh Matthews and Booker T. They hype up tonight’s main event that will see Daniel Bryan defend his World Heavyweight Championship against the World’s Largest Athlete, The Big Show! We will also get an update on the condition of “The Viper” Randy Orton, who was hospitalized after Wade Barrett threw him down a flight of stairs at the end of last week’s broadcast. Booker T also hypes up the fact that he has another shot at Cody Rhodes’ Intercontinental Championship tonight as well!
- Smackdown in 2011 ended with Wade Barrett and 2012 begins the same way as he makes his way down to ringside. He gets on the microphone and begins to talk about the “Barrett Barrage”. He promised us a long time ago that the Barrage was going to be unstoppable, but Randy Orton had to try and get in his way. What he got for it was a trip down the stairs that he will never forget. Barrett takes us to the titantron, which replays what happened to Orton last week. He says that Orton’s time on Smackdown is over and it’s now his time to take over. The takeover started by eliminating Orton and the next step is to win the Royal Rumble and then the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania!
- He is interrupted by the theme of the “Celtic Warrior” as Sheamus comes out to a chorus of cheers from the WWE Universe. Sheamus tells Wade that just because he took out Randy Orton for a while, doesn’t mean that he all of a sudden is running Smackdown. Sheamus says that just because he says he’s going to win the Royal Rumble, doesn’t mean that the Celtic Warrior won’t be standing in his way, ready to eliminate him. And just because he says he’s going to win the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania, doesn’t mean that Sheamus doesn’t have the same goal in mind. Barrett claims that Sheamus can try and stop the Barrett Barrage, but the footage from last week shows what happens to people who attempt to. Sheamus says that none of that intimidates him and he came out here to challenge Barrett to a match tonight. Barrett tells Sheamus that he’s dumber than he looks and agrees to the match.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes [c] def. Booker T >> Much like their match at TLC, this was a good encounter. Rhodes and Booker have seemed to build a good chemistry and it showed once again here. The action was back and forth in the early goings until a huge kick from Booker put him in the driver’s seat. Booker began to call for the Scissors Kick but Rhodes clotheslined him down as he ran off of the ropes. Later in the contest, Booker would actually hit the Scissors Kick but Rhodes somehow managed to get a shoulder up. Booker blocked the Cross Rhodes effectively three times in this match, but in the end, a well-placed Beautiful Disaster did the trick.
- Cody Rhodes grabbed his belt and the microphone. He told everyone that he is the best Intercontinental Champion of our generation and soon, maybe the greatest of all time. He plans on becoming the first double champion since The Ultimate Warrior by winning the Royal Rumble as the Intercontinental Champion and defeating whoever is the WWE or World Heavyweight Champion in Miami at WrestleMania.
- ===Commercial Break===
- A recap of Daniel Bryan walking out on his match with John Cena this past Monday is shown, followed by Mark Henry attacking Bryan and nailing him with the World’s Strongest Slam onto the steel.
- We return to see Daniel Bryan and AJ in Bryan’s locker room. He is staring at the World Heavyweight Title and continues to moan about how unfair it is that he had to face John Cena on Monday and the Big Show tonight. AJ cautiously mentions that Bryan didn’t see his match through with Cena to the end so it doesn’t fully count. Bryan seems angered at this, but rather calmly says that the only reason he got counted out was because he wanted to save his energy for his defense tonight. He promises that if his gold was on the line, he’d make Cena tap out just like he’s going to make Show do tonight.
- Mark Henry def. The Great Khali >> Since his World Title run late last year, Henry has been a different man in the ring. This was by no means a classic, but Henry has excelled at the big man showdown matches all throughout 2011 and 2012 looks to be no different. He got the best he could out of Khali and showed some impressive strength by defeating him with the World’s Strongest Slam.
- After the match, Henry motioned that he wanted his belt back, which means that whoever wins in tonight’s main event needs to watch their back.
- We go backstage to Teddy Long’s office where he is with the United States Champion, Zack Ryder. Ryder tells Long that he is looking for a replacement for his Assistant to the General Manager position and he thinks he’s found a suitable choice. In steps Hornswoggle, who does his usual Hornswoggle antics in the office as Long looks on, stressed.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Over the Top Rope Challenge – William Regal won by last eliminating Ted Dibiase >> With this basically being a battle royal, it wasn’t the most exciting match. The participants were Dibiase, Regal, Jimmy & Jey Uso, Ezekiel Jackson, Goldust, Trent Barreta. Yoshi Tatsu, Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater. Nothing spectacular here, but it was nice to see Regal get some shine.
- Cameron Lynn is standing by with Drew McIntyre. She asks him how he feels about his tough loss to Ezekiel Jackson last week, which moved Teddy Longer closer to possibly letting him go. McIntyre says that it was a fluke and that Jackson got lucky. He admits that he doesn’t have a match tonight, but he promises to get a huge victory next week when he issues an open challenge!
- Much like we saw on Raw when gearing up for Dolph Ziggler vs. CM Punk, we see the Tale of the Tape graphic for our World Title match tonight! That is followed by a split screen showing that Wade Barrett and Sheamus are making their way towards the ring as that match is up next!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Wade Barrett def. Sheamus >> Sheamus has been one of the hottest stars in the WWE over the past few months but he ran into trouble with the almost as hot Wade Barrett. These are two of the best brawlers on the entire planet and they just went toe to toe to the crowd’s delight. They showed a lot of good chemistry and this could be a future feud with some good money in it. In the middle of the match, William Regal was shown watching in the back on a monitor with some serious intent. Sheamus seemed to gain control towards the end, and began to signal that the Brogue Kick was coming. As he went for it, Barrett had it scouted and side stepped before rolling Sheamus up and getting the win.
- Wade Barrett quickly left the ring and headed up the ramp celebrating his big victory. Sheamus was clearly furious with himself in the ring and it showed.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Cody Rhodes is shown walking in the back, when he bumps into his brother, Goldust. Cody mentions Goldust’s loss in the Over the Top Rope Challenge earlier tonight. He says that once again, Goldust tallies a loss and chalks up more embarrassment for the family name, while Cody made another successful Intercontinental Title defense tonight. Before Goldust could respond, Cody strolls off and says he has to go shine up his belt. Goldust looks clearly disappointed in his brother.
- Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd def. Hunico & Camacho >> Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd are a relatively new tag team on Smackdown, and the crowd seemed to get into them due to their fast paced, high flying style of offense. Camacho made a clear difference in this match at some points, as he was the one brute in the contest and he tossed around his opponents a bit. In the end though, Gabriel put down Hunico with the 450 splash.
- The announce team puts over how good Gabriel and Kidd looked as a unit together before informing us that we will get an update on Randy Orton’s condition when we return from commercial break.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Once again the footage is replayed of Randy Orton’s match with Wade Barrett last week and it ends by showing Orton at the bottom of the stairs and unconscious. Booker T. informs us that Orton has a concussion and will be missing a few weeks which means he could unfortunately miss the Royal Rumble.
- Non-Title Match – Divas Champion Beth Phoenix def. Kaitlyn w/ Natalya >> Kaitlyn is still relatively new to the WWE scene despite winning the very fun nXt Season 3, but Natalya has been helping her along and she looked pretty good in this contest. She is a strong girl and couldn’t be handled like some of the other Divas on the roster. Even with her grit, the “Glamazon” proved to be too much as she put down Kaitlyn with the Glam Slam.
- As Beth Phoenix had her arm raised in victory, General Manager Teddy Long appears on the Titantron. He congratulates Beth on her victory but tells her that this Monday night on Raw, all of the Divas on the active roster will compete in a Battle Royal and the winner will get a shot at the Divas Championship at the Royal Rumble! Beth Phoenix doesn’t look too worried as we cut away.
- Cameron Lynn is once again standing by, this time, with The Big Show. She asks Show about his title shot tonight and Show replies by saying that he once had a great respect for Daniel Bryan. He saw that Bryan was a talented competitor and especially saw it when he took Mark Henry to the limit in a Steel Cage match a few months back. But ever since he won the World Title, his ego has gone to his head and Show has no problem knocking him down a few pegs and winning back the World Title.
- ===Commercial Break===
- World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan [c] w/ AJ Lee def. Big Show via countout >> Daniel Bryan continues to evolve from face to tweener and slowly towards the heel side of things with every match. At the start, he played this match like a smart and sound competitor focusing on Show’s legs and trying to get the big man down. He would deliver a stiff kick and weave out of the way using his speed. This worked for a while until Show finally managed to get his hands on him and began to use his power to his advantage. Show picked up numerous near falls throughout the match. Bryan escaped to the outside where Show began to give chase. Bryan would hide behind AJ and use her as a shield. That stopped Show in his tracks and he yelled at Bryan to stop hiding. Bryan had the audacity to shove AJ into Show and run inside the ring. Show caught AJ and made sure she was alright just as the referee’s count hit 10
- When Big Show realized what happened, he was enraged. He rolled into the ring, but Daniel Bryan had escaped and grabbed his World Title. He ran around the ring and up the ramp shouting “YES!” at the top of his lungs. AJ eventually caught up with him and looked upset and heartbroken that Bryan would use her and put her in harm’s way, but all Bryan seemed to care about, was that he was still the World Heavyweight Champion!

It seems like you are taking your time with changing things up which is smart.
I'm interested to see how everything looks come Mania.
Good show tonight with Rhodes, Henry, Barrett, Gabriel, Kidd all looking stronger.
Bryan's continued change in character was also handled well.

WWE NXT Redemption: Wednesday 4th January 2012...Good idea to announce the conclusion of NXT Season 5 at last, it's about time that the show ends after a full year of NXT Redemption. I look forward to seeing how you begin the new developmental training-type process of the hybrid FCW/NXT project. Michael McGillicutty defeating Alex Riley is fine, and I hope for a future push for McGillicutty down the line. Maxine defeating Kaitlyn is sad to see, although I do hope to see Maxine stick around in this diary. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks seem to be getting a good rub so far, winning their second match into the year. A win against Yoshi Tatsu and Trent Barreta is fine, I'd like to see Tatsu used more, and Barreta to develop up the card, if even just a little. Finally, Derrick Bateman defeating Darren Young is fine, and I do hope to see Young and Titus O'Neil progress onto the main roster with the demise of NXT Redemption. Same for Bateman, he could be the next comedy character on the scene. Not bad, a clear indication of the future, potentially.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown: Friday 6th January 2012...Wade Barrett kicking off the show was nice, a good call in which he continued discussing taking out Randy Orton and his vow to win the 2012 Royal Rumble match...he's a top candidate to win it, but I just can't see it. I suspect that Randy Orton will return and take out Barrett, though. I'd love their match to go ahead smoothly as planned at WrestleMania XXVIII. Sheamus interrupting was cool, and we have our first-hour main event; classic SmackDown booking. Cody Rhodes defeating Booker T to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship made for a solid opening contest. I wonder if you plan to have Booker continue as a part of the roster, or as a non-wrestler. Either way, should be interesting where Rhodes goes from here. Rhodes has a claim for the 2012 Royal Rumble too, but I can't see Rhodes getting the win. Nice talk time for top candidates to promise victory in the Rumble match, though. Daniel Bryan and AJ continue their dissension, very nice to see. Hopefully it doesn't get over the top dramatic, though. Mark Henry with a win against the Great Khali was fine, using Khali as a stepping stone and showing Henry's brute strength; a threat for the World Heavyweight Champion...who I see being Daniel Bryan still. I hope you don't go with the triple threat steel-cage match, though. Zack Ryder trying to help Theodore Long find an assistant...Hornswoggle? Heheh. William Regal winning an over the top rope challenge was bizarre...it was strange to see so many random talent crammed together into one match. Does this mean anything, and were any of these superstars actually going to be in the Royal Rumble match anyway? I'm surprised that Ted Dibiase didn't win really, he was picking up good momentum before he disappeared. Regal winning is good, nonetheless. I just don't quite get the booking. Wade Barrett with a win against Sheamus was good, a solid midcard battle. As much as I'd dislike seeing it, it seems like Sheamus is the right choice to win the Royal Rumble match this year, so it seems. Either way, a babyface has to win in order to face Bryan...unless you make a last minute switch of World Heavyweight Champion, either tonight, the Rumble or Elimination Chamber. Or any time between that. Glad to see Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd pair up sooner, that's always pleasant to see. Hunico and Camacho also getting air-time is good; I'd like to see some formation of a half-decent tag team division, which is what you seem to be going for, no less. Gabriel and Kidd winning was expected, but I'd like to see more from Hunico and Camacho. I think also that if you do NXT, you should do WWE Superstars, if only in list results. Just so that we can see who is doing what whilst not on the main shows, RAW and SmackDown. Beth Phoenix getting the win against Kaitlyn was expected, strengthening the WWE Divas Champion in the process. No surprise, given Kaitlyn can't even beat Maxine. I'm surprised that Kaitlyn worked double duty, on NXT and then SmackDown, too. When did SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long get permission to book a match for RAW? Heh. And a decent main event with quite a weak finish, as Daniel Bryan retains the World Heavyweight Championship against the Big Show. I like how it developed AJ being misused by Bryan, but I doubt that Show catching AJ would then lead to Show being counted out. Must have been a fast count. Nonetheless, a pretty decent episode of SmackDown, a big start to the year. Overall, a much better show than RAW (although that was a little more rough to book, true), albeit some strange booking with the spontaneous battle royal and the weak end to the show. Good work.

Good opening promo here for Smackdown with Wade Barrett laying the talk down on Orton and the high praise of himself. Nice interruption from Sheamus setting up a match between the two later on. Cody Rhodes defeating Booker T is obvious, and a nice little vow after the match of becoming a double champion. Nice segment between AJ Lee and Daniel Bryan, I hope to see their tension build more and more as time goes on and you possibly go in a different direction with AJ. Mark Henry getting the win is obvious, and good for him. Hopefully he actually starts doing big things down the road once again. William Regal winning the battle royal is odd, but it doesn't mean much. Which is probably why it is odd. Would have rather seen somebody capable of making a push at the Royal Rumble winning. Obvious victory for Wade Barrett over Sheamus, and I'm really looking forward to him possibly getting a push down the line. Gabriel and Kidd winning makes sense, I never liked or got into (like most people) Hunico and Camacho. Beth Phoenix with the win is no surprise, being the Diva's Champion and Kaitlyn not being much at this point. Finally, a good main event with Bryan using AJ to get a cheap victory. Good development for everything. Pretty good show.

January 9th, 2012 | American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas - The signature WWE into plays as our show begins, followed by a video package of CM Punk retaining the WWE Title in a classic against Dolph Ziggler. This leads to showing the return of Chris Jericho when he attacked both CM Punk and Michael Cole. With that we cut to the announce team who welcome us to the show, no Michael Cole tonight as he’s recovering from Jericho’s attack last week and is replaced by none other than John Bradshaw Layfield!
- Right off the bat, the WWE Champion joins us and walks down to the ring with a purpose. He grabs a microphone and yanks off his hoodie. He begins by talking about retaining the WWE Title against Dolph Ziggler last week. He may not like Ziggler personally, but he last week he showed that he is the real deal in the ring. With that out of the way, he would like to move on to Chris Jericho, someone who he had great respect for once. Last week, Jericho made his big return, again, to the WWE but decided to do it by attacking him from behind. Punk wants answers from Jericho and he wants them now. He says that if Jericho wants to target him or the WWE Title, all he had to do was ask. Punk demands Jericho to meet him face to face in the ring.
- After about twenty seconds of silence, “Here to Show the World” is heard as Dolph Ziggler comes out to the stage instead of Chris Jericho. Ziggler has a microphone and he says that while he thanks Punk for the props earlier, he doesn’t really need them. He and everybody else knows how good he is. He tells Punk that his focus shouldn’t be on some has-been like Chris Jericho, it should be on “The Showoff”. Ziggler says that he has some news for Punk straight from the office of John Laurinaitis. Due to coming within a hair of becoming the new WWE Champion last week, John Laurinaitis has granted Dolph Ziggler another shot at the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble! Punk says that he’s fine with that and tells Ziggler that the end result at the Rumble will be the same as it was last week, and he reminds the WWE Universe that he’s not done with Chris Jericho.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see Zack Ryder enter John Cena’s locker room. They fist bump and begin to catch up before John Laurinaitis enters and interrupts. He tells them to carry on but to make sure they get prepared for their match tonight. They look confused and ask what he’s talking about. Laurinaitis says that in our main event tonight, Cena will team with Ryder to take on Kane and Jack Swagger!
- Alberto Del Rio w/ Ricardo Rodriguez def. Evan Bourne w/ Kofi Kingston >> An absolutely hot opener for tonight’s edition of Raw as AirBoom continues to be one of the hottest acts in the WWE currently. Bourne was a lot more competitive than he would have been if this match happened a few months ago. He got in a lot of offense and had Del Rio reeling at some points. He called for the AirBourne which got the crowd on their feet. Ricardo Rodriguez got on the apron to distract the referee, but Kofi Kingston yanked him off and clotheslined him. That brief distraction allowed Del Rio to get up and run to the top rope. He grabbed Bourne’s arm and flipped him over onto the canvas while keeping hold and locking in the Cross Armbar! Bourne had no choice but to tap out.
- Evan Bourne is put over by JBL for the valiant effort that he put up against a former WWE Champion. Del Rio and Rodriguez leave up the ramp while Kingston checks on his partner.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Jerry “The King” Lawler welcomes us back to Raw and announces that tonight; we will see R-Truth and The Miz go one on one in a match that has been brewing since The Miz turned his back on his former “Awesome Truth” partner months back.
- Brodus Clay def. JTG >> JTG hasn’t had much to do in the WWE over the past few months, but he got some Raw TV time here. Unfortunately for him he became the second victim for Brodus Clay as the monster ran roughshod over him even worse than he did to Alex Riley last week. He picked up the win after hitting the Fall of Humanity.
- Wade Barrett is shown entering John Laurinaitis’ office and they pleasantly greet each other. Wade asks him who he will be facing tonight with that match he was promised last week. John knew that’s what he would ask and he informs him that his match will be later tonight and it will be against Santino Marella. Barrett likes the sound of that as he exits.
- ===Commercial Break===
- R-Truth def. The Miz via Disqualification >> This was a pretty intense encounter as R-Truth came out on fire and just took it right to the former WWE Champion. Miz would use a well-timed neck breaker to change the tide and gain the upper hand. He began to work over Truth’s neck throughout the match until he began to make a comeback. Truth caught fire once again and looked to on the verge of victory until Miz bailed himself out by nailing him with a low blow.
- Miz scurried out of the ring as Truth was furious and in pain inside the ring. The crowd wasn’t a huge fan of the non-finish, but it’s clear that things between these two gentlemen are far from over.
- We now cut to the backstage area where Chris Jericho is shown! It looks like he’s walking towards the arena!
- ===Commercial Break===
- As expected, we are joined by Chris Jericho and a slower version of “Break Down The Walls”. He enters the ring in jeans and a black jacket with the hood up. Jericho begins to speak slowly and says that the vignettes that aired weren’t lying or falsifying anything. The end of the world in the WWE as we know it is now over. This world, where CM Punk claims to be the “best”, where John Cena and The Rock fight over whose ego is bigger or who makes worse movies, and where a leprechaun is an assistant General Manager. That world is over. He wants to make it clear that last week wasn’t a personal attack on CM Punk or Michael Cole. It’s an assault on the WWE in general. He loves pro wrestling and he has since he was a young boy. He left the WWE in 2005 and came back after watching Shawn Michaels and John Cena put on classics in 2007. It gave him the itch to return. That’s not what happened this time around. He’s watched things that he doesn’t approve of and it’s made him an unhappy man. He promises to destroy the thing he once loved. When he arrived back in 1999, he remembers ending his first promo with “Chris Jericho is here to save the WWE.” The times have changed as now, in 2012, Chris Jericho is here to destroy the WWE!
- CM Punk’s music hits as the WWE Champion makes his way down to the ring with a determined look on his face. Jericho tells him to stop in his tracks because he is not going to accept Punk’s challenge. He says that he will not be wrestling any matches until the Royal Rumble. He will win that match and win whatever title he chooses at WrestleMania and nobody will stop him. He has unfinished business with people in the WWE and he wants to destroy them before fully destroying the company. Punk stood on the ramp listening to all of this and once Jericho was done, he began to walk to the ring anyway. Suddenly, Dolph Ziggler creeps up behind him and nails him with the Zig Zag onto the ramp!
- ===Commercial Break===
- The first Hall of Fame inductee for the 2012 class is officially announced and it’s none other than the recently retired “Rated R Superstar” Edge! A video package plays highlighting Edge’s illustrious career.
- Number One Contender Divas Battle Royal – AJ Lee wins by last eliminating Eve >> Beth Phoenix was on commentary with her Divas Championship by her side during this match. It was your typical Divas battle royal, which means there honestly wasn’t much wrestling and some shoddy looking eliminations. The participants were AJ, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes, Kaitlyn, Natalya and Tamina. The final four saw AJ and Eve basically square off with the Bellas. Once they got rid of the Bellas, AJ and Eve had a decent back and forth until AJ got the better and the win.
- After the match, AJ celebrated by jumping up and down and shouting “Yes!” at the top of her lungs, much like her boyfriend, Daniel Bryan
- John Laurinaitis and David Otunga are seen backstage, when CM Punk barges in, holding the back of his head. He demands a match with Chris Jericho and Laurinaitis says he won’t grant him that. When he re-signed with the company, there was a clause that stated he won’t be wrestling until the Royal Rumble. Punk asks what idiot would sign someone who wants to destroy the WWE. Otunga shouts at Punk to watch his mouth when speaking to the General Manager and Punk levels him with the WWE Title! Laurinaitis attempts to calm Punk down and says that he honestly believes that nobody could destroy the WWE, but the ratings will be huge having Jericho back. He also tells Punk that he will be in action next week against David Otunga for his heinous attack. Punk storms out as John checks on Otunga.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see Daniel Bryan in the back, when AJ comes up to him, extremely excited about her victory and shot at the Divas Title at the Royal Rumble. She says it’s always been her dream to be the Divas Champion and now she finally gets her chance. Bryan says that’s great because he’s tired of being the only successful one in this relationship and it’ll be nice to see her carry her weight. He kisses her on the forehead and they head off.
- Wade Barrett def. Santino Marella >> Santino Marella has become one of the WWE’s most popular Superstars over the past few months and the WWE Universe was firmly behind him tonight. Unfortunately for him, Wade Barrett has been on an awesome roll and it continued here tonight. He survived an early surprise flurry from Marella and managed to gain the upper hand. Shortly after taking advantage, Barrett put down the Italian with the Wasteland.
- The cameras now cut to show Jack Swagger getting ready while Vickie Guerrero talks with Dolph Ziggler. Swagger teams with Kane to take on Zack Ryder & John Cena, next!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Kane & Jack Swagger w/ Vickie Guerrero def. John Cena & United States Champion Zack Ryder >> Kane and Jack Swagger made for an odd pairing, mainly due to the fact that Kane seemed to want nothing to do with being on a team. He didn’t respond to Swagger’s double team attempts and would only tag himself in. Midway through the match Cena did get the hot tag, but towards the end, he and Kane began to brawl outside of the ring and up the ramp. They took their fight all the way to the backstage area while the legal men, Ryder and Swagger went at it in the ring. Swagger gained the victory for his team by hitting the Gutwrench Powerbomb after a distraction from Vickie.
- Jack Swagger celebrated his victory after pinning the United States Champion, while the cameras shifted backstage to Kane and John Cena. Despite the match being over, the fight between these two clearly wasn’t. They brawled for a decent amount of time after the match until the cameras cut to the production truck. It looks as if Chris Jericho has more or less hijacked the truck. The scared workers as idly standing by as Jericho looks into the camera and says that he is not the guy who used to give the fans what they want. He’s the guy who will take away what they want and if what they want is to see these two brawl then it’s his job to put an end to it. Jericho pulls a plug and the show cuts to black.

WWE Monday Night RAW Hey, JBL! CM Punk kicking off the show after Chris Jericho attacked him was the right move, Dolph Ziggler coming out instead of Jericho was cool too. Keeping Punk versus Ziggler for the Rumble is fine, you don’t have much time to start a new feud for Punk anyway. I’d like to see Punk/Jericho held off until WrestleMania XXVIII too. Cena and Ryder against Kane and Swagger tonight should be good. Alberto Del Rio defeating Evan Bourne is fine, sounded like a good match too. I look forward to what you’ll do with Bourne, it seems like you’ll be keeping him around. I thought Del Rio was injured by this time too, but it’s no big deal really. Brodus Clay with the win over JTG, typical squash match to put Brodus over. Personally, I would have kept the Funkasaurus gimmick, since it was something different from a monster heel. (Because dancing big men is such an original gimmick.) I do like how it’s something different from real life, however. R-Truth over Miz via disqualification is okay, it was a good way to keep both men going strong. I hope we get an actual pay-per-view encounter between this two, they both are going to need something to do. I enjoyed the promo from Chris Jericho, love how he’s here to destroy the WWE too. Only thing I didn’t like about this segment is how Punk just stood there on the ramp, it’s completely unlike his character. He wouldn’t give a damn if Jericho told him to stop, he’d say his piece and start throwing punches. I did like the attack from Ziggler, you need to make Ziggler look like a threat or else he’ll be completely overshadowed by the Punk/Jericho feud. Edge as the first inductee for the Hall of Fame Class of 2013 is cool, no problems there. AJ winning the battle royal is pretty cool, glad to see she’ll actually be able to wrestle. I don’t expect her to win, even though it would be cool to see her and Bryan hold the titles side by side. I imagine AJ will lose just so Bryan can berate her. Liked Punk attacking David Otunga after not being able to get his match with Jericho, made up for him just standing there earlier. I imagine he would want revenge on Dolph Ziggler too, though. Wade Barrett over Santino Marella is fine, I hope big things are in store for Barrett this week. Lastly, big main event to close out the show, and Kane/Cena brawling to the back was cool. Swagger getting the pin over Ryder was a good way to establish him as a contender to the United States Championship, but I hope Ryder gets a long reign. Oh, I loved Jericho cutting the feed on the brawl between Cena and Kane, awesome way to end the show. I really love what you’re doing with Jericho here. Overall, it was a good show building towards the Rumble in a few weeks.

January 13th, 2012 | Laredo Energy Center in Laredo, Texas - A video package highlighting last week’s World Heavyweight Title match between Daniel Bryan and Big Show is shown, where Bryan used AJ to get Big Show counted out. We then cut to Michael Cole, who is back after being attacked by Chris Jericho, and Josh Matthews welcoming us to the broadcast. They inform us that tonight’s show should be jam packed and it kicks off with the World Heavyweight Champion!
- Daniel Bryan and AJ make their way down to the ring, Bryan shouting “Yes!” the whole way down. He gets on the microphone and begins to hype himself up, telling a tall tale of his triumph over Big Show last week. He compared it to David vs. Goliath, which the crowd didn’t approve of. He claims that winning the World Title was the greatest moment in his career and he will be the fighting Champion that the WWE Universe deserves. He is cut off by the theme of the Big Show. Show gets into the ring and tells Bryan that he can’t call himself a fighting Champion if he used AJ to get a countout victory. Bryan is appalled at this and shouts that it was Show was grabbed AJ and Show who didn’t pay attention to the referee’s count. None of this is his fault in his mind. Show says that what his rematch last week was plagued with the countout so he wants another shot.
- Before Bryan could accept or object, Mark Henry’s theme hit as the World’s Strongest Man and former World Champion came down to the ring. He tells Show that he already got his title shot last week and failed. Henry says that he never got his rematch from losing the belt at TLC and he wants his tonight! Bryan objects and says that he just had a huge defense last week. Show says that he thought Bryan was a “fighting Champion”. Teddy Long’s music hits as the General Manager makes his way out to the ramp. He says that as much as he would love to see Big Show vs. Daniel Bryan again, he agrees that Mark Henry never got his proper rematch. So in tonight’s main event, Daniel Bryan will defend his title against Henry! Bryan is furious at this news as we cut to commercial.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see Wade Barrett taping up his fists for his rematch with Sheamus later tonight. William Regal comes up to him and says that he was watching Barrett’s match last week and he’s very impressed by him. He likes what he sees in Barrett and says that he’d like to help and possibly mentor Wade. Wade smirks and says thanks, but no thanks because he’s doing just fine on his own. He walks off as Regal looks disappointed.
- Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel def. The Usos >> Smackdown opens with a great tag team match as these two put on a clinic. The Usos have consistently been solid in the ring, while Kidd & Gabriel has impressed in their short time together. This was back and forth throughout with both teams looking strong until Kidd and Gabriel nabbed the win when Jey Uso tapped out to the Sharpshooter.
- Teddy Long is shown in his office with his new Assistant General Manager, Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle is running around the office, causing havoc, when Drew McIntyre enters. He promises Teddy that he will win his open challenge tonight and prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he belongs on Smackdown. Teddy says he better because his job may soon be on the line.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Ted Dibiase def. Heath Slater >> Even though he wasn’t able to win the Over The Top Challenge last week, Dibiase has been on a bit of a roll as of late and it continued here tonight. Slater put up a decent fight, but once Dibiase hit Dream Street, it was lights out for the One Man Band.
- Cameron Lynn is standing by with Sheamus and she asks him how he feels about having a rematch with Wade Barrett here tonight. Sheamus says that Wade is one of the toughest guys he’s ever stepped in the ring with, but he knows that he can beat him and he will Brogue Kick his way to victory tonight.
- Booker T is shown preparing for his tag team match later tonight, when Goldust enters. They embrace and talk about how it’s cool that they get to reunite here tonight. They talk of fond memories like when they spoofed “The Scorpion King” together. After some good laughs, they get serious and talk about how Cody Rhodes must learn respect.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Our Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes makes his way down to the ring to a chorus of boos. He has a microphone in hand and berates the people of Texas as he comes down the ramp. He gets in the ring and begins to talk about his brother. He says that he sat idly by for years as Goldust made his family look like a joke and the only reason he was idle was because he wasn’t a professional wrestler yet, but now that he is, he is bringing prestige to the Rhodes’ name. His brother keeps telling him to respect a guy like Booker T, but Goldust will learn to respect Cody Rhodes.
- Booker T & Goldust def. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & William Regal >> Surprisingly, William Regal has been getting more TV time, rumor has it that it’s because he may be retiring soon. Regardless, he continues to look good in the ring. This was a solid tag team match that followed normal tag formula and Goldust would be the man to get the hot tag. He cleaned house and had the crowd firmly behind him. Cody went for the Beautiful Disaster but Goldust ducked it and rolled him up for the victory!
- Cody Rhodes was livid that he just got pinned by his younger brother. He snatched his Intercontinental Title and stormed off as Goldust and Booker T celebrated tag team success once again.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Sheamus def. Wade Barrett >> Just like last week, these two main evented the first hour of Smackdown, and tonight featured the slightly better contest. They again went toe to toe and seem to be building more chemistry each time out. The story here was that Barrett was trying to get another win over Sheamus in any possible way. He attempted pins early and often and in different variations. At one point, he had Sheamus up for the Wasteland, but Sheamus elbowed his way out of it. Sheamus went for the Brogue Kick, but Barrett ducked it, only to turn around into a Brogue Kick anyway! Sheamus’ quick second attempt got him the win to even their series.
- The cameras cut to the back to see Daniel Bryan and AJ. Bryan is pacing back and forth while AJ mentions that she’s heading off for her upcoming match. Bryan stops and says that he forgot she had a match. He figured that her focus would be on his huge title match. AJ says that it is, but she reminds him that she also has a big title match coming up and it’s her dream to be the Divas Champion. Bryan looks like he’s about to say something mean, but stops and wishes her good luck tonight before kissing her on the forehead.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to a video recap of AJ Lee winning the Number One Contender’s Divas Battle Royal on Raw to earn her first shot at the Divas Championship and Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble!
- Divas Match: AJ Lee def. Tamina >> Since winning the battle royal this past Monday, everybody has been pointing out the size advantage that Beth Phoenix has over AJ heading into their Title match. Tamina also has a pretty big strength advantage on AJ but the spitfire that she is was resilient throughout. After Tamina missed a top rope splash, AJ connected with the Shining Wizard for the win.
- AJ Lee picks up a huge victory and some momentum heading into the biggest match of her career, but as we all know, Beth Phoenix is a whole different ball game than anyone else in the Divas division.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see a reminder that Edge will the inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at WrestleMania XXVIII! A video package showcasing his storied career is shown.
- Drew McIntyre is shown in the ring after the video package and he has a microphone in his hand. Drew says that a long time ago Mr. McMahon named him the “Chosen One” of the WWE and he seemed well on his way after winning the Intercontinental Title in just a few short months. But, some down moments in his career have somehow led him to where he’s at now, fighting to keep a job in the WWE. He knows that he needs a win and he challenges any Superstar in the back. The Big Show’s theme hits as Drew hangs his head low.
- Big Show def. Drew McIntyre >> Drew McIntyre clearly wanted no part of the Big Show, who was still angry after last week’s main event. McIntyre did all he could as he charged at Show despite his better judgment. He wasn’t able to get in that much offense though as Show made rather quick work and put him down with the Weapon of Mass Destruction.
- Big Show didn’t even celebrate his win; he just went outside and got a chair. He set it up and sat down on the outside, and it looks like Show will be getting a front row seat for the main event.
- ===Commercial Break===
- World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan [c] w/ AJ Lee def. Mark Henry via disqualification >> Once again, Daniel Bryan was at a clear size and strength disadvantage but he was going to use his skill, wit and speed to gain the upper hand. Just like with Big Show, he targeted Mark Henry’s legs and managed to get the big man down at one point. It would not last though as Henry took control of the match by just beating down on Bryan. Henry eventually got Bryan up for the World’s Strongest Slam, but Bryan raked him in the eyes. He then ran to the outside and slapped Big Show across the face! Show was livid, grabbed Bryan and launched him onto the announce table, where the World Champion bounced and the referee called for the disqualification.
- Mark Henry was livid when he heard the bell and he began to yell at the Big Show. Show yelled back and got into the ring and it looked like the two were going to have another brawl like the ones they had in 2011. They are cut off by Theodore Long’s theme music as the Smackdown General Manager walks out to the stage. He says that he is not happy with back to back Smackdown main events ending with shaky finishes. Daniel Bryan has, at this point, grabbed his belt and made his way to the bottom of the ramp. Long says that something is going to have to give and he’s decided that it will give at the Royal Rumble. He announces that on that night, Daniel Bryan will defend his World Heavyweight Title against both Mark Henry & the Big Show! Show and Henry seem pleased with this, while Daniel Bryan is in disbelief. He begins to shout “No!” as AJ attempts to calm him down.

A good way to kick off SmackDown with the World Heavyweight Championship scene heating up. Looking forward to Bryan vs. Henry tonight, though there's no way we see a clean finish in that one. Great tag team opener, and Gabriel and Kidd getting the win is fine by me. I would like to see the Usos pick up some momentum in the future, though. A decent contest between Heath Slater and Ted DiBiase. I am interested in seeing if you can build up DiBiase as a major player on SmackDown. I'd certainly love to see it. Booker T and Goldust versus Cody Rhodes and William Regal was quite the odd match up. I'm not opposed to one final push for Regal, though. The classic team of Booker and Goldust getting the win was expected, and great for nostalgia purposes. Another solid match up between Wade Barrett and Sheamus to even up the score between them. I'm liking this series of matches between the two as they're both favorites heading into the Royal Rumble match. AJ Lee defeating Tamina was fine, simply to give her some momentum. While I don't expect AJ to win the Divas Championship at the Royal Rumble, I do hope a reign isn't far off for her. Poor McIntyre. Big Show destroying him was fine for what it was. And lastly, a chaotic World Heavyweight Championship match, as expected. Teddy Long then announcing the Triple Threat match for the Royal Rumble was fun. While the odds are definitely stacked against Bryan, I still expect him to retain. A good SmackDown overall. This diary is looking great thus far.

If people followed WWE around this time there is a lot they would recognise with your own slight little change to it. I like your approach of taking your time and not changing too much to soon.
Read Raw and Smack Down again this morning, the highlight of the week was easily Chris Jericho's promo. Jericho is easily the standout in your first 4 shows. It is over shadowing Ziggler but sometimes the bigger picture is more important. I didn't like Jericho cutting the power thought it was a little cheesy but that is a small complaint but everything else with Jericho was on point. Jericho is the favourite to win the Rumble and at this point anyone else is the wrong choice.
The other things that are standing out to me which I am enjoying is the pushes given to Wade Barrett, Kidd, Gabriel, Ted DiBiase among others its nice to see the slow approach and building for the future.
Everything else you are doing with Cena/Kane, Bryan/Henry/Show, Ryder/Swagger is a continuation of what actually happened in early 2012 but I am looking forward to seeing where you take them going forward.
