My thoughts on your series haven't yet changed too much since reading Smack Down.
Smack Down was a decent show but now its time for the Rumble!!
Chris Jericho is still the odds on favourite to win the Rumble match and in my opinion anyone else would be the wrong choice.
You are clearly a talented dude and I look forward to see where you take your diary coming out of the Royal Rumble Pay Per View. I look forward to reading it.

January 29th, 2012 | Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri - The opening video package plays with a voiceover discussing the history of the Royal Rumble and how tonight begins the Road to WrestleMania. We then see a quick recap of the build up for the World Heavyweight and WWE Title matches before focusing back on the Royal Rumble. The video cuts out and then shows Chris Jericho’s return and ensuing actions since then including his attacks on Mick Foley and CM Punk, as well as when he cut the power on Raw a few weeks back. It ends with him saying that he will win the Royal Rumble and takeover as he destroys the WWE.
- We cut to the arena and see the opening fireworks as “Dark Horses” by Switchfoot blares over the speakers. Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Josh Matthews welcome us to the 25th anniversary of the Royal Rumble and hype up what should be an explosive beginning of the Road to WrestleMania. Will John Cena embrace the hate against Kane tonight? Can CM Punk send back the challenge of Dolph Ziggler one more time? Will Daniel Bryan be able to overcome two of the WWE’s biggest monsters? The biggest question tonight though, is who will win the 2012 Royal Rumble match?
World Heavyweight ChampionshipDaniel Bryan [c] w/ AJ Lee vs. Big Show vs. Mark HenryBig Show came out first, which got the crowd roaring to begin our show and he was followed by Mark Henry who drew some very good heat from the WWE Universe. Daniel Bryan and AJ followed, to a mixed reaction and if he was intimidated by the two behemoths in the ring, he didn’t show it. He shouted “Yes!” at the top of his lungs as he came down the aisle. Once the bell rings, it’s clear that Daniel Bryan has made enemies of two guys he shouldn’t have. Henry and Show actually work together and take turns tossing Bryan around the ring. The crowd seemed to rather enjoy this, but that partnership would not last long as they would begin to brawl once Henry attempted a pin. Show and Henry traded shots which included Show chopping Henry in the corner, a side slam and even a bear hug. Bryan seemed content to allow this to happen until he realized that Henry could tap, so he dropkicked Show in the knee, causing him to break the hold. Bryan began to light up Show with some vicious kicks, including a final one to the head which got him a near fall. Henry locked him into a full nelson and now it looked like Bryan may be the one to submit, but Show broke it up and busted out the Final Cut, which he hasn’t used in a long time. He only got a near fall and then brawled with Henry for a bit as Bryan sat in the corner resting. Show noticed this and went after Bryan, but Bryan charged and nailed him with a running knee that staggered Show. He hit another and went for a third to know him down, but Show caught him by the throat and went for the Chokeslam. He went to lift him but Bryan attempted to reverse it into the LeBell Lock! Show was still too strong for him to get it fully locked on and Henry clubbed him from behind. Bryan stumbled into the corner, where Henry hit him with a huge running splash and then hoisted up the Champion for the World’s Strongest Slam! Bryan would again counter with both knee and elbow strikes to the head. This forced Henry to release the move, but once Bryan was on his feet, he was cut in half by a huge Spear from Show! He covered but Bryan managed to somehow get his foot on the bottom rope. Henry then got the upper hand on Big Show, and got him down to the mat where he went for a running splash, but Show moved out of the way. As Henry got up, Show nailed him with the Weapon of Mass Destruction! Daniel Bryan hit Show with a low blow and covered Henry to steal the victory! Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan [11:21] **¾ - The crowd again gives a mixed reaction as Daniel Bryan has basically stolen victory here tonight. Josh Matthews does put over how Bryan had both the Chokeslam and World’s Strongest Slam scouted very well and that he just saw an opportunity to retain the belt and went with it.
- We cut to the back where John Laurinaitis and Theodore Long are in the General Manager’s office, along with Aksana and Eve, who are tonight’s “ball girls”. They talk about tonight’s show and Laurinaitis mentions that he feels like he would do a much better job running Smackdown than Teddy Long, to which Long says the feeling it mutual about Raw. Before any more can be said, Ricardo Rodriguez enters and introduces Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio comes in and gets his number and is none too pleased. He tells Laurinaitis that he thinks he is the superior General Manager, before telling everyone that he will be winning the Royal Rumble for the second straight year no matter what his number is. Santino Marella enters and tells Del Rio that he was the last man in the Rumble with him last year and claims that Del Rio got lucky, which won’t happen again this year. Santino gets his number and squeals out of excitement. Del Rio looks furious that Santino got a better number.
Divas Championship Beth Phoenix [c] vs. AJ LeeAJ Lee stayed in the ring following the World Heavyweight Title match and when announced, she got a nice reaction from the WWE Universe. Beth Phoenix followed, Divas Championship on her shoulder, to a negative response from St. Louis. As the bell sounded Phoenix was clearly toying with AJ as she called for a test of strength. AJ looked around and decided to go for it, but despite her best efforts, she wasn’t a match for the “Glamazon”. Beth backed her into a corner and began to work her over with some shoulder thrusts before hitting a slingshot suplex for a near fall. She continued to be in control and hit a huge military press slam yet got another near fall. Beth was starting to get frustrated that she couldn’t put down AJ. Beth sent AJ back into the corner and charged at her, but was met with a back elbow. Beth charged again but AJ caught her with a quick hurricanrana which she followed up with a diving cross body. The crowd was quickly getting behind AJ and, after back to back dropkicks; she rolled up Beth for a near fall. Beth was taken aback by this flurry and she hit clubbed AJ in the back to slow her down. She sent AJ off the ropes, but AJ came back and locked her into the Octopus Hold! Beth looked near tapping out, but she used her strength to back into the corner, which hurt AJ. Both women were down for a bit, but Beth was up first. She went to AJ, who pulled her into a small package for a near fall! AJ got up and went for the Shiranui, but Beth nailed her in the back and hit the Glam Slam to keep the title. Winner and still Divas Champion: Beth Phoenix [6:29] **½
- The WWE Universe was a lot more into this than most Divas contests, as AJ’s presence in high profile matches with Daniel Bryan have helped her popularity immensely. Beth Phoenix came into this match toying with AJ, but it looks she may have come to respect her a bit. The crowd gives AJ a nice hand as she came close to realizing her dream on several occasions.
- Again we go to the General Manager’s office when The Miz enters. He gets his Royal Rumble number and isn’t mad about it. R-Truth enters now and the room gets tense due to their rivalry. R-Truth suddenly smiles and says that while they’re not done with The Miz, they’re here for the Royal Rumble. Miz is confused and asks who “they” are. R-Truth says it’s him and Little Jimmy of course. He goes to get his and “Little Jimmy’s” numbers, but Teddy Long looks confused and tells him that “Jimmy” isn’t in the Royal Rumble. R-Truth looks sad and gets his number, which he shows to “Jimmy” next to him. R-Truth says he likes the number and says they really hope there aren’t any spiders in the Rumble tonight. He leaves and The Miz shakes his head and says he can’t believe he was his teammate at one point.
- Dolph Ziggler is shown getting ready for his WWE Title match as Vickie Guerrero is talking about all of the things they can do with him as champion. Ziggler stops and tells her that he needs to do this alone tonight, so he doesn’t want her out there. She protests and is upset, but Ziggler isn’t budging.
- A video package is now shown, focusing on the build-up between Kane and John Cena. It shows Kane’s return with the mask and his assaults on John Cena. Then it shows their recent brawls and Kane’s need for John Cena to embrace the hate.
John Cena vs. KaneThis one got started instantly as once John Cena hit the ring, he went right after Kane with right hands; backing him onto the ropes. Cena then ran off the ropes and clotheslines the Big Red Machine to the outside and the crowd was on their feet. It was pretty clear that this wasn’t going to be your typical John Cena match. There would be no theatrics like the Five Knuckle Shuffle as he was here for a fight. They brawled on the outside, with Kane gaining the upper hand after hitting Cena with a big boot. He choked Cena with a wire at ringside before tossing him into the announce table. He then throws Cena back into the ring and hits a sidewalk slam followed by a running DDT for a near fall. Kane climbed to the top and went for the flying clothesline, but Cena moved out of the way. He hit two running shoulder blocks and then a fisherman suplex. Cena seemed poised to take full control, but Kane knocked him back to the outside with a clothesline. Kane then drilled Cena with a huge Chokeslam on the outside! He dragged Cena to a nearby fan who was very anti-Cena and put them face to face. Kane shouted for Cena to embrace it, as the fan was telling Cena that he sucked. Kane said Cena needs to give in, but Cena nailed him with some elbows to the stomach before connecting with a huge Attitude Adjustment on the outside! Cena was clearly not in a good mood though and he looked at the fan who was shouting at him and did the “you can’t see me” gesture. Cena went to the steel steps and looked like he was going to use them on Kane. The referee attempted to stop this and Cena began to mull over whether or not he should do this. Kane slowly got up and rolled into the ring during this time. Cena looked in the ring and Kane pointed to the anti-Cena fan. Cena tossed the steps into the ring and was looking to get very violent. As he got in, the referee again attempted to stop Cena but Kane charged and the referee got hit. Cena knocked Kane back down and hoisted the steps over his head, but Kane kicked him in the stomach. He then hit a Tombstone onto the steel steps! The referee slowly moved and made the three count! Winner: Kane [12:46] **¾
- As Kane left up the ramp with his victory, the announcers put over the fact that John Cena lost his cool and was extremely close to “embracing the hate”. He let his anger with Kane and the fans get to him and it ended up costing him tonight’s match.
- Scott Stanford is standing by with the WWE Champion CM Punk! He asks Punk for his feelings heading into tonight’s WWE Title match. Punk says that he feels the same way about tonight’s title match as he does for all of them, which is a feeling that he’s going to win. The “Best in the World” on the back of his shirt isn’t just a catchphrase, it’s the truth. He plans on retaining the WWE Title tonight and again at Elimination Chamber and again at WrestleMania XXVIII. CM Punk says that the WWE Championship isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
- Once more we cut away to see John Laurinaitis in the GM’s office. He is already in his referee’s shirt when Wade Barrett enters to get his Royal Rumble number. He gets it and doesn’t look too pleased but isn’t upset either. Before he leaves he promises to be the one to throw Randy Orton over the top rope just like he threw him down a flight of stairs. He also gives Laurinaitis his seal of approval over Teddy Long, and Long just looks extremely disappointed. Laurinaitis tells him that it seems pretty clear that he is the superior GM. Sheamus now enters for his number and says that he for one, supports and likes having Teddy as his General Manager. He gets his number, is pretty happy, and says that he feels like tonight is his night.
Intercontinental Championship Cody Rhodes [c] vs. GoldustCody Rhodes and Goldust stood face to face before the match and once the bell rang, Cody slapped his brother across the face, showing more of that blatant disrespect. Goldust didn’t take that lightly and returned the favor with a slap of his own! Goldust then tackled Cody to the ground and began to pulverize him with lefts and rights. The referee separates them, giving Cody time to breath. When they get back at it, Goldust continues to be in control hitting a DDT, snap powerslam and a jumping hip attack for a near fall. He sent Cody into the corner and set him up for some early Shattered Dreams, but Cody got free and wriggled out of the ring. Goldust followed but when he got back in the ring, Cody met him with some stomps. This put Cody back in the driver’s seat as he played a slow and methodical game. He focused on Goldust’s neck with some wear down submissions and a running DDT for a two count. Cody would continue to be in control and pulled out the Alabama Slam, which he learned from his former tag team partner, Hardcore Holly, but again only got a near fall. He sent his brother off the ropes and went for a back body drop, but he should’ve known better as Goldust dropped to his back and nailed him with an uppercut. He followed that with a swinging vertical suplex for a very close near fall. Goldust put his brother in the corner and again geared up for the Shattered Dreams, but the official reminded him that it would cause a disqualification. Instead, he put Cody on the top rope and geared up for a superplex, but was pushed off the top and onto the ground. As he got up, Cody met him with a beautiful moonsault for another two count. Cody awaited his brother getting up and went for the Beautiful Disaster, but Goldust moved out of the way and hooked him for the Curtain Call. As he lifted him, Cody used momentum to flip all the way over and get behind Goldust, where he then connected with the Cross Rhodes and sealed a successful title defense. Winner and still Intercontinental Champion: Cody Rhodes [9:08] *** - Cody Rhodes retains the Intercontinental Title in one hell of a battle with his older brother. The announce team mentions that while Cody may still be Champion, he may come to respect his brother a bit more. As Cody is celebrating, Goldust gets up and offers his hand to his brother. Cody considers it, but slaps his brother’s hand away and rolls out of the ring, celebrating up the ramp.
- For the final time tonight, we cut to the back to see more people pick their Royal Rumble numbers. Zack Ryder enters to a huge pop from the WWE Universe. He gets a kiss on the cheek from Eve and asks her to pick his number. She hands it to him but when he sees it, he goes “are you serious bro?” David Otunga, who has been in the background of the office all night, decides that with one ball left, he will now take it. He gets his number and gets a very smug look on his face, telling Zack that he probably won’t be seeing him out there. Zack says he’ll be out there for sure, “woo woo woo, you know it.”
- Before our WWE Championship match, we get a video package hyping up the main event. It focuses on Dolph Ziggler’s career in the WWE and his “showoff” mentality. It then cuts to showing CM Punk’s reign as the WWE Champion, and his battles with Ziggler. The video ends with a shot of Ziggler holding up the WWE Title and a voiceover of him shouting “DAMN I’M GOOD!”
WWE Championship CM Punk [c] vs. Dolph ZigglerThe crowd is excited for this one as Justin Roberts does the in ring introductions with CM Punk getting a massive pop and Dolph Ziggler drawing some very good heat. They begin the match with a basic collar and elbow tie up, followed by some quick attempts to gain the upper hand but each man countered the other’s attempts. It was reminiscent of an ECW standoff, but Ziggler won it by nailing a gorgeous dropkick from out of nowhere. With Punk down, Ziggler used that time to do a short strut around the ring and taunt Punk. Punk smirked and they went back at it, Punk gaining the upper hand this time after hitting a beautiful German suplex. He bridged it and John Laurinaitis surprisingly made a normal count and Ziggler kicked out. Ziggler rolled to the outside to a breath, and Punk went after him with a suicide dive, but Ziggler moved out of the way and Punk crashed hard. Ziggler breaks up the ten count, before targeting Punk’s leg. He stomped on it, smashed it into the turnbuckle and even locked in a rare figure four. Punk tried to reach the ropes, but was in the middle of the ring, so he turned over and put the pressure on Dolph. Turning over put Dolph near the ropes and he grabbed a hold of it. Ziggler was up first and hit the Name Dropper [Fameasser] for a near fall, and the announcers noted a bit of a quick count by Laurinaitis. Ziggler seemed like he could taste victory as he sent Punk off the ropes and hit an inverted power slam for yet another near fall. He now sends Punk into the corner and goes for a stinger splash, but Punk moves out of the way, runs in and hits his knee strike/bulldog combination. Punk is fired up and goes to the apron. He goes for a springboard clothesline but his leg gives out and he crumbles to the mat. Ziggler hits him with three elbow drops, jumping on the last one for a near fall. Ziggler stalks Punk and locks in the Sleeper Hold. Punk is fading fast, but moves to the corner, puts his feet on the ropes, pushes back and uses his momentum to fall onto Ziggler in a pinning form, but Laurinaitis stops counting at two! They get out of the pinning combination and Punk is furious at Laurinaitis. He is close to hitting him, but Laurinaitis points to his shirt, reminding him that he is the official. Ziggler sneaks up and turns Punk around for a superkick, but Punk ducks and Laurinaitis gets drilled! Ziggler is stunned and Punk hits him with the GTS, but doesn’t instantly cover as his leg is throbbing from the knee strike. He slowly crawls over, and Mike Chioda rushes out to make the count, but Ziggler manages to get his shoulder up in the nick of time! The WWE Universe is on the edge of their seats as both men get to their feet slowly. Ziggler goes to strike first with a big right hand, but Punk ducks and locks in the Anaconda Vise! Ziggler struggles, nearly reverses it and gets close to the ropes but after almost a minute, Punk rears back and Ziggler is forced to submit! Winner and still WWE Champion: CM Punk [19:42] ****¼
- CM Punk slid out of the ring and celebrated his victory as John Laurinaitis got up. The Raw General Manager was furious as Punk once again walks out of a Pay-Per-View with the WWE Title. Dolph Ziggler put up a valiant effort but ultimately CM Punk was too much for him to overcome.
- An advertisement is shown for next month’s Pay-Per-View extravaganza, Elimination Chamber! The commercial focuses on Wade Barrett and the show will be live on February 19th, 2012 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin!
- The yearly Royal Rumble video package is shown, highlighting previous winners and records. It ends with a shot of Alberto Del Rio celebrating last year and winking at the camera.
40 Man Royal Rumble
- Entrant #1: United States Champion Zack Ryder
- Entrant #2: Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes
- This year’s Royal Rumble starts with a bang as our two successful mid-card Champions enter first. Ryder got a mega pop from the WWE Universe, while Rhodes continues to draw a ton of heat. We got to see a fun filled two minutes between these two that the crowd ate up and, as the first buzzer goes off, Ryder hits the Broski Boot.
- Entrant #3: Trent Barreta
- One of Smackdown’s hidden gems, Trent Barreta rushes into the ring to join the action. Despite not being over like Rhodes and Ryder, he keep the crowd into it by making their interactions fun as he hit Rhodes with a running high knee and nailed Ryder with a big springboard DDT.
- Entrant #4: Heath Slater
- The “One Man Band” walks down to the ring, not in any rush to join the fray. In the ring, Ryder has regained control and is attempting to toss out Barreta. Slater sneaks in and tries to throw out both men but fails as they both hang out. Slater celebrates like he just won, but turns around right into a Rough Ryder. The four men continue to fight without any eliminations.
- Entrant #5: Camacho
- Hunico’s tag team partner Camacho is next, although he doesn’t get much of a reaction from the WWE Universe. He starts off hot as he’s the biggest man in the match and tosses around the smaller Barreta and Ryder but nothing else significant happens during this interval.
- Entrant #6: Brodus Clay
- Things get interesting now as the WWE’s newest monster joins the Rumble. He comes in and cleans house, hitting splashes, headbutts, suplexes and nails Barreta with the “Fall of Humanity.” Clay begins to empty out the ring as he tosses Heath Slater out, followed by Barreta. Camacho tried to overpower him and toss him out, but Clay wasn’t having any of that and Shee-plexed him before eliminating him as well.
Brodus Clay eliminates Heath Slater [3:22] at the 6:22 mark Brodus Clay eliminates Trent Barreta [5:00] at the 6:30 mark Brodus Clay eliminates Camacho [2:47] at the 7:17 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay
- Entrant #7: The Great Khali
- The crowd knew they were in for a sight as Brodus Clay’s dominance may come to an end at the hands of The Great Khali. Even Ryder and Rhodes used this opportunity to rest and witness this. Khali towered way over the 6’7 Clay, Brodus didn’t back down. They traded shots for a bit and Khali even hit him with the Brain Chop. It looked like Khali was in control, but Brodus got up and nailed him with a big headbutt and a running splash. He put Khali in a Tongan death grip type move and pushed him towards the ropes. With Khali leaning heavily on the ropes, he ran off the ropes and nailed one more big headbutt to send Khali over and out!
Brodus Clay eliminates The Great Khali [1:22] at the 8:52 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay
- Entrant #8: Big Show
- Once again, all eyes were on Brodus Clay when Big Show came out. Clay has dominated and eliminated the only four Superstars to go so far but Show is a different animal. Show came in and began to battle with Clay, Show still upset about losing the World Heavyweight Title match earlier tonight. Show was no Great Khali and would not be eliminated easily. Ryder and Rhodes were back at it as well, trying to eliminate one another.
- Entrant #9: Tyson Kidd
- One half of the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, Tyson Kidd draws number 9 to a nice hand from the crowd. He wisely avoids the brawl between Clay and Show and gets involved with Rhodes and Ryder, taking Rhodes down with a stiff dropkick to the head. Meanwhile, Show chops Clay in the corner for a thunderous sound.
- Entrant #10: Kofi Kingston
- Now one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions comes out as Kofi gets a big pop from the WWE Universe. Kidd waits for him and they go straight for each other, hyping up their Tag Team Title match tomorrow night on Raw. Their scuffle is exciting as its fast paced and fairly even. Kingston gains the upper hand when he nails him with SOS before walking into the Beautiful Disaster from Cody Rhodes. Cody attempts to eliminate him as the next man is out.
- Entrant #11: Ted Dibiase
- The Dibiase Posse gets on their feet for the arrival of one of the hotter acts on Smackdown, Ted Dibiase. He comes in and Cody motions for him to help out like they used to as teammates. Dibiase goes to help, but then levels Rhodes to a solid pop. Clay now has the upper hand on Show as he is attempting to get him over the top. Kingston is up and back to battling with Kidd.
- Entrant #12: Justin Gabriel
- Tyson Kidd’s tag team partner rushes out and they instantly begin to work on Kingston. On Smackdown they proclaimed that they are just as good, if not better, than AirBoom. Kingston fought valiantly but a superkick from Kidd took him down. Gabriel climbed to the top and was gearing up for the 450 Splash as the buzzer sounded.
- Entrant #13: Evan Bourne
- Kofi Kingston’s partner now sprinted to the ring and we had ourselves a straight up tag team war. While Ryder and Dibiase tried to eliminate Rhodes and Clay was still dealing with Big Show, these four put on a show that the crowd enjoyed. Unfortunately for International Airstrike, they got taken out by dual dropkicks from AirBoom, but their battle was very enjoyable and tomorrow night on Raw should be a blast.
Kofi Kingston eliminates Tyson Kidd [7:14] at the 17:44 mark Evan Bourne eliminates Justin Gabriel [2:44] at the 17:44 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Brodus Clay, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Ted Dibiase, Evan Bourne
- Entrant #14: Alberto Del Rio
- Alberto Del Rio comes out to the biggest heat of the Rumble so far and instantly brawls with AirBoom, who he’s had his problems with as of late. He started off hot, hitting both men with enziguris but he failed to eliminate either man before the next buzzer could sound off. However, Big Show got Brodus Clay out on the apron and hit him with the WMD to eliminate a major threat
Big Show eliminates Brodus Clay [13:28] at the 19:28 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Ted Dibiase, Evan Bourne, Alberto Del Rio
- Entrant #15: Jey Uso
- Another member of an exciting tag team, Jey Uso rushed out and made his presence felt rather quickly as he hit nearly everyone in the ring with a kick or headbutt. He even nailed Del Rio with a perfect Samoan Drop and had the crowd shout “USO” with him. Cody Rhodes began to help Del Rio with AirBoom, while Ryder and Dibiase tried to get rid of the Big Show to no avail.
- Entrant #16: Alex Riley
- The Miz’s former protégé, Alex Riley is number 16 and he runs right into the action. After a few shots delivered he is unfortunately disposed of rather quickly as Cody Rhodes ducks his clothesline attempt and back body drops him over and out. Rhodes then sees Jey Uso on the top rope preparing to deliver a splash, so he shoves him off and top and to the floor. Cody Rhodes has just eliminated two superstars in a five second span!
Cody Rhodes eliminates Alex Riley [0:20] at the 21:20 mark Cody Rhodes eliminates Jey Uso [1:54] at the 21:24 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Ted Dibiase, Evan Bourne, Alberto Del Rio
- Entrant #17: Wade Barrett
- Wade Barrett surpasses Alberto Del Rio for most heat drawn so far in this match and he comes in and goes on a tear. He hits big boots, huge elbow strikes, belly to belly suplex and even the Wasteland on Bourne. Barrett was on a tear as he picked up Bourne and launched him over the top.
Wade Barrett eliminates Evan Bourne [6:52] at the 23:22 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Ted Dibiase, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett
- Entrant #18: Jimmy Uso
- As talented as he is, Jimmy Uso ran into the wrong guy at the wrong time. He put up a decent fight, but Barrett proved to be too much as he hoisted him up for the Wasteland and used that to eliminate Jimmy right onto the outside. The rest of the guys in the ring began to do battle with each other again.
Wade Barrett eliminates Jimmy Uso [0:39] at the 24:39 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Ted Dibiase, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett
- Entrant #19: Randy Orton
- The roof of the Scottrade Center nearly blew off as the hometown guy, Randy Orton, makes his return to the WWE and is headed straight for Wade Barrett. Barrett is ready for a fight and two instantly trade right hands in the center of the ring. Barrett gets the upper hand and sends Orton off the ropes, but Orton ducks a clothesline and nails a huge snap powerslam. Rhodes goes to nail Orton but gets hit with an RKO from out of nowhere!
- Entrant #20: Epico
- We’ve hit the halfway point as Epico makes his way to the ring. The announcers hype up how Rhodes and Ryder have now been in this match nearly 30 minutes each. As they talk about this Alberto Del Rio rids the ring of Kofi Kingston and unfortunately for Epico, he doesn’t last long as Orton eliminates him.
Alberto Del Rio eliminates Kofi Kingston [15:45] at the 27:45 mark Randy Orton eliminates Epico [0:56] at the 27:56 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Ted Dibiase, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton
- Entrant #21: Goldust
- Just as Cody Rhodes was up from the RKO, his brother, who he defeated earlier, ran down to the ring as the 21st participant. Goldust goes straight for Cody Rhodes and the two begin to brawl. Goldust wins their battle and manages to hit the Shattered Dreams that he attempted multiple times in their Intercontinental Title match earlier. Barrett now focused on getting rid of Big Show, while Del Rio and Orton went at it, leaving Ryder and Dibiase to face off.
- Entrant #22: Booker T
- The crowd pops as the former six time World Heavyweight Champion joins the fray. Cody Rhodes is now in serious trouble as he’s had issues with both Goldust and Booker T regarding his lack of respect. They take turns giving him what he deserves; meanwhile, Barrett got his hands on Ted Dibiase. Dibiase was on the apron and Barrett leveled him with a huge elbow which knocked him to the outside.
Wade Barrett eliminates Ted Dibiase [17:43] at the 31:13 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Goldust, Booker T
- Entrant #23: The Miz
- The former WWE Champion, The Miz, draws number 23 and hits the ring with some fire. He immediately goes after Randy Orton. After they go at it for a few, Miz hits Goldust with the Skull Crushing Finale before Ryder levels him. Meanwhile, Big Show send Barrett over the top, but the Bare Knuckle Brawler hangs on and pulls himself back into the ring.
- Entrant #24: David Otunga
- John Laurinaitis’ personal gopher entered at number 24 and, just as Zack Ryder promised, he was still in the ring when Otunga arrived. The WWE’s resident “A-List Superstar” and Harvard Law graduate didn’t last too long though, as Ryder tossed him out just as the next buzzer was going off.
Zack Ryder eliminates David Otunga [0:35] at the 33:35 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Goldust, Booker T, The Miz
- Entrant #25: Sheamus
- The “Celtic Warrior” gets a huge pop from the WWE Universe as they are excited to see him join in on the action. Sheamus, just like the other top stars, entered the match with a flurry of offense. He nailed The Miz, Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio with a barrage of Brogue Kicks! Cody Rhodes avoided this and used this time to reverse Booker’s attempt to eliminate him and instead he sent out Booker.
Cody Rhodes eliminates Booker T [5:00] at the 35:30 mark Remaining Superstars: Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Goldust, The Miz, Sheamus
- Entrant #26: R-Truth
- The Miz, just starting to get up from the Brogue Kick, was instantly worried again as R-Truth showed up in the Royal Rumble. R-Truth went straight for him and fired off some rapid shots including the Lie Detector. He nearly eliminated The Miz but ultimately failed. On the other side of the ring, Ryder geared up for the Broski Boot again on Rhodes, but Barrett attacked from the side and sent Ryder to the outside, eliminating him after over 35 minutes.
Wade Barrett eliminates Zack Ryder [37:09] at the 37:09 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Goldust, The Miz, Sheamus, R-Truth
- Entrant #27: Dolph Ziggler
- The luckiest number in Royal Rumble history goes to the man who came within an eyelash of winning the WWE Title tonight, Dolph Ziggler. He gets a mixed reaction and is on absolute fire once he enters the ring. He nails nearly everyone before getting into a back and forth battle with Randy Orton, which he wins by nailing him with the Zig Zag. Before he can go any further though, Big Show begins to work him over in the corner.
- Entrant #28: Hunico
- Another member of the WWE’s rising tag team division, Hunico rushes out to the ring. He doesn’t fare much better than his partner did earlier, as after about a minute, he gets eliminated by Sheamus. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes gets his brother on the apron, drops to the mat and uppercuts him out of the ring. Not only did he eliminate his brother, but he did it with one of Goldust’s own trademark moves.
Sheamus eliminates Hunico [1:07] at the 40:07 mark Cody Rhodes eliminates Goldust [11:51] at the 40:21 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, The Miz, Sheamus, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler
- Entrant #29: Primo
- The final member of a consistent tag team in this Rumble appears as Primo comes in and instantly hits a flying cross body onto Alberto Del Rio. The crowd seems to like this but they get even more excited when they see R-Truth clothesline The Miz to eliminate him!
R-Truth eliminates The Miz [9:14] at the 40:44 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Primo
- Entrant #30: Kharma
- A surprise entrant tonight, Kharma, who we haven’t seen in months, becomes the third woman to enter the Rumble. She comes in and nails Rhodes, Del Rio, Ziggler and Primo. She also becomes the third woman to register an elimination as she hauls Primo over the top rope. Over in the corner, Randy Orton catches Big Show with a rather large RKO.
Kharma eliminates Primo [3:52] at the 42:52 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Kharma
- Entrant #31: Mick Foley
- Back to back surprises as St. Louis goes crazy as the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley has entered the Royal Rumble! He goes right for Dolph Ziggler, as Ziggler’s remarks about him are clearly still on his mind. Foley nails him with multiple right hands before backing up and running to tackle him to the outside. Ziggler ducks and instead sends Foley over! Ziggler laughs at Foley, who gets on the apron and hip tosses Ziggler over the top and to the outside!
Dolph Ziggler eliminates Mick Foley [1:03] at the 44:33 mark Mick Foley eliminates Dolph Ziggler [7:11] at the 44:41 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, R-Truth, Kharma
- Entrant #32: Michael McGillicutty
- The son of the legendary Mr. Perfect enters at number 32, but the crowd was more focused on the war going on outside of the ring between Foley and Ziggler. Ziggler sent Foley into the steel steps, but Foley fought back and sent hi, into the announce table. He then cleared off the table and hit Ziggler with a big double arm DDT through it!
- Entrant #33: Kane
- Kane comes out for his 15th consecutive Royal Rumble and as usual, he makes an impact. As he enters, he goes and flips Kharma out as she was trying to eliminate Wade Barrett. He then hits Orton with a chokeslam before McGillicutty runs at him. Kane uses his momentum to send him over the top rope. Big Show puts a stop to Kane’s barrage though as the two of them now brawl. More action in this 90 second interval as Cody Rhodes hits the Beautiful Disaster onto R-Truth as he was on the apron, eliminating him as well.
Kane eliminates Kharma [4:46] at the 46:46 mark Kane eliminates Michael McGillicutty [2:03] at the 47:03 mark Cody Rhodes eliminates R-Truth Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kane
- Entrant #34: William Regal
- The WWE’s most regal superstar, William Regal is next up in the Royal Rumble. Randy Orton does battle with Rhodes at this point, while Kane and Show are still going at it. Del Rio is taking a rest as Wade Barrett and Sheamus renew their recent rivalry by trying to eliminate each other.
- Entrant #35: Chris Jericho
- At number 35 is the man who said he wants to destroy the WWE, Chris Jericho. He is wearing long tights and black tape on his fists. As he enters the ring, he immediately tosses Regal out of the ring as he charged at him. He then gets leveled by Orton and Sheamus as the WWE superstars are clearly not happy about his threats to destroy their company. They both try to eliminate him separately but Jericho skins the cat both times.
Chris Jericho eliminates William Regal [1:47] at the 49:47 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kane, Chris Jericho
- Entrant #36: Drew McIntyre
- Fresh off of a win over The Great Khali to keep his job, Drew McIntyre enters and goes after Sheamus. Not much of note happens in this interval except for Jericho hitting Big Show with a pretty big Codebreaker.
- Entrant #37: Jack Swagger
- The “All-American American” runs down to the ring to some heat from the WWE Universe and helps McIntyre work over Sheamus. They send him off the ropes, but Sheamus ducks their attack and hits them with a double clothesline. He calls for the Brogue Kick, but is instead hit from behind by Barrett. Barrett hits him with the Wasteland. Meanwhile, Jericho and Del Rio work over Orton in the corner.
- Entrant #38: Ezekiel Jackson
- Ezekiel Jackson enters at the number that won the Royal Rumble last year, 38. He gets in the ring and takes down both Swagger and McIntyre, before putting McIntyre in the Torture Rack. Rhodes was nearly eliminated by Big Show here, but he holds on and survives yet again.
- Entrant #39: Santino Marella
- We’re almost at the end here as Santino Marella enters things. He quickly surpasses his 2009 by lasting more than one second and he’s trying to best his performance last year, when he was the last man eliminated. Jackson began to battle with his former Corre teammate, Wade Barrett, but it was a battle he would lose as Barrett dumped him to the outside. Meanwhile, Santino could not best last year as he was eliminated by Chris Jericho.
Wade Barrett eliminates Ezekiel Jackson [2:01] at the 56:01 mark Chris Jericho eliminates Santino Marella [0:50] at the 56:20 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kane, Chris Jericho, Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger
- Entrant #40: Mark Henry
- The World’s Strongest Man draws the final number in the Royal Rumble and looks to add some inductees into the Hall of Pain. As he enters the ring, the Big Show eliminates Jack Swagger before Chokeslamming McIntyre over and onto Swagger who caught him. Show then went toe to toe with Henry once he entered the ring.
Big Show eliminates Jack Swagger [4:49] at the 57:19 mark Big Show eliminates Drew McIntyre [6:26] at the 57:26 mark Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Kane, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry
- While Henry and Show go toe to toe, the announcers mention that Cody Rhodes has lasted from number 2 until number 40 came out, as he is nearing the one hour mark. Henry wins the battle of the monsters as he manages to eliminate Big Show [49:35]! Just as Cody Rhodes hits the one hour mark, he goes for the Beautiful Disaster on Randy Orton, but Orton sit and goes for the RKO but Rhodes pushes him off. Orton hits the ropes and Cody charges him, but Orton ducks and pulls the top rope down, sending Rhodes to the mat [60:27]. Cody couldn’t believe that his ironman performance goes for naught here tonight. Moments later, Kane has Mark Henry by the throat and has him leaning on the top rope when Jericho sneaks up and flips them both over the top [14:22] [3:22]! A few more moments later and Orton has Del Rio out on the apron. He went to eliminate him, but Del Rio hit him first and ran Orton’s face into the turnbuckle. He celebrated prematurely as Sheamus nailed him with a vicious Brogue Kick which sent him crashing to the mat [44:19]!
- The final four Superstars are Wade Barrett, Randy Orton, Sheamus and Chris Jericho. This broke off into two separate matches basically as Jericho and Sheamus were on one side of the ring and Orton and Barrett were on the other. Barrett gained the advantage when he nailed Orton with a huge spinebuster, while Sheamus used the High Cross on Jericho. Sheamus managed to get Jericho on the apron and began to level him with vicious shots to Jericho’s chest. As he went for the tenth straight, Barrett came up behind him and flipped him over the top [29:51]. Jericho managed to hold on, nearly having both feet hit the ground, but he got back into the ring. Barrett walked back over to Orton, but was met with an RKO! The crowd goes nuts as Orton is now fired up. Jericho goes to Orton and attempts the Codebreaker, but Orton latches onto the ropes and Jericho hits the mat. Orton picks up Jericho and goes to eliminate him, but again Jericho lands on the apron. Barrett is back up and lifts Orton for the Wasteland. He goes to eliminate him with it, but as he lifts Orton higher, Orton snaps down and pulls Barrett forward and over the top rope [43:42]!
- Wade Barrett is furious as we are now down to the man who wants to destroy the WWE and the man from right here in St. Louis, Randy Orton! Jericho goes to get back in the ring, but Orton catches him midway and nails his trademark rope hung DDT. Orton follows that with a jumping knee drop but Jericho moves out of the way. As both men get up, Jericho trips up Orton and locks in the Walls of Jericho. He is trying to wear down Orton, but Orton overpowers him and breaks the hold, sending Jericho into the corner. As he comes out, Orton nails him with the RKO! Wade Barrett hops back in the ring and nails Orton with Wasteland! He leaves the ring and both men are down. Jericho eventually gets up first and as Orton gets up, he grabs him by the head and launches him over the top rope, but Orton skins the cat. He gets on the apron and Jericho charges but Orton nails him. Orton brings Jericho onto the apron with him and they trade shots there, each man getting close to slipping and falling. Jericho hits Orton with a particularly hard shot, sending him back a bit. Jericho goes to him again, but Orton catches him with an RKO on the apron! Orton gets close to falling, but holds onto the bottom rope with his right arm, as his left leg and arm hit the mat. Jericho hit the apron hard and rolled to the mat, giving Orton the hard earned win [18:01]!
- Winner: Randy Orton [44:51]
- Time of Match: 69:01
- Longest Lasting Superstar: Cody Rhodes [60:27]
- St. Louis goes nuts as Randy Orton has won the 2012 Royal Rumble! He joins a Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels as the only Superstars to win multiple Royal Rumbles. He rolls back into the ring and gets on the top rope to pose as fireworks shoot off. Just like he did in 2009, Randy Orton is headed to WrestleMania!

Royal Rumble Review
Glad that Daniel Bryan retained the World Heavyweight Championship beating not only Henry but Show also in the Triple Threat Match because no one thought Bryan would survive in his first World Heavyweight Championship defense but he managed to even if it meant cutting a few corners all be it by controversial circumstances to get the job done but as long as he got it done but what I loved most about the match was that the odds were stacked against Bryan and he came out on top anyway because the whole match I was thinking Bryan's title reign was going to end either with Henry winning back the title or Show winning the title but Bryan coming out on top in the end was the right call
And Bryan's girlfriend AJ not faring any better than her boyfriend the World Heavyweight Champion Bryan with her coming up short against the WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix for the WWE Divas Championship, I honestly thought AJ was going to win the title or at least that Bryan would help her out in winning the title by having Bryan come out to distract Beth long enough for AJ to take advantage but that didn't happen because Bryan is all about himself but at the same time AJ doesn't even need Bryan to help her in her matches because she's capable all on her own and I honestly thought that she had Beth beat but Beth finding a way to win to retain her title, Beth won't be so lucky for long especially if Kharma comes back
Kane going over Cena if anything was the right call but this match I really thought that Cena would embrace the hate perhaps maybe even turn heel or show heel tendencies during this match and he nearly almost did but Kane proving to be too much for Cena in the end just goes to show us that Kane is the monster that he always was meant to be but what I loved most about this match was the Tombstone Piledriver on the steel steps with Kane hitting that move on Cena on the steel steps to win this match, that was brutal but so efficient too at the same time, Kane is a beast and if he is in the Rumble then he has got to be one of the odds on favorites to win because ever since Kane's resurrection he has been proven to be an evil monster which is how Kane should be
Brother vs Brother Rhodes vs Rhodes for the IC Title, with Cody the younger brother going over his older brother Goldust to retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship if anything was definitely the right call even though I was hoping Goldust would have one final run with the WWE Intercontinental Championship but this match was so personal but at the same time so back and forth and Goldust showing signs of 1990s Goldust taking Cody to the limit for the most part but Cody overcoming the odds beating his brother, I wonder what The American Dream Dusty Rhodes is thinking right now seeing his 2 sons go at it over the IC Title and I wonder what Dusty would think about Cody's behavior
And CM Punk retaining his WWE Championship beating Ziggler was also again definitely the right call, because Punk is early into his 434 day reign anyway so for him to lose it here would kind of be I don't know what to say sacrilegious so for him to beat Ziggler was great but what was even better was the fact that Big Johnny had to watch it happen
But as for the Royal Rumble itself, the 2nd ever 40-man Royal Rumble Match, I loved it because of the surprise entrants that were in it like Kharma, Foley, etc. but seeing superstars who we don't regularly see on TV in the Rumble such as DiBiase, Riley, McIntyre, Big Zeke, etc. all in this match was great but I honestly thought Jericho would win the Rumble, he was my pick to win it, but the hometown hero Randy Orton winning the 2012 Royal Rumble Match instead of Sheamus, I can live with that, Orton making history by joining the likes of Hogan, Austin, and Michaels as the only men in WWE history to win 2 or more Rumbles with Orton winning his 2nd Rumble is great because Orton is going to WrestleMania 28 in the main event but I wonder which title Orton will go for at WrestleMania? Will Orton face the WWE Champion switching brands and going over to RAW? Or will Orton stay on Smackdown and face the World Heavyweight Champion? Orton has quite the decision to make
But Cody Rhodes lasting over an hour in the Royal Rumble Match, I honestly think that is just a testament to Cody's character lasting one whole hour in the Rumble Match lasting from #2 and the thing is that Cody is also the Intercontinental Champion too to boot but also he had an earlier match-up earlier in the night and he won that but could have almost won the Rumble, that just shows me right there that Cody is ready to be a future main eventer in this business
Great Rumble PPV, really good job!!!!!!

WWE Royal Rumble: Sunday 29th January 2012...As expected, we have the opening contest with Daniel Bryan, the Big Show and Mark Henry kicking off the show, as Daniel Bryan continued his changing in character, managing to weasel his way into retaining the World Heavyweight Championship in a decent little opening contest. Not much different than real life, but Bryan low blowing and stealing Big Show's moment was nice. Maybe it would have taken a bit more than just a low blow to take out Big Show leading to the pinfall on Mark Henry, but nevermind. A decent story to the match here, too. Alberto Del Rio's segment with Santino Marella was amusing, and I liked the reference to the closing moments of the 2011 Royal Rumble match, where Marella was the last man in the match with Del Rio. Beth Phoenix meanwhile retaining the WWE Divas Championship against AJ Lee was fine, as expected. I liked the close calls from AJ, too. Phoenix rightfully got the victory though, but I do wonder what is next for Lee. Phoenix showing respect for AJ? Where could this be going? If you plan on turning Beth Phoenix a face, that would be interesting to say the least. This is one of the rare cases in which you could have gotten away with a longer Divas match, but nevermind. More comedy with R-Truth and The Miz is fine, nobody seems to be taking the Royal Rumble serious this year! Kane defeating John Cena was an interesting decision, and I anticipate that we will indeed see a rematch at Elimination Chamber next month. Brutal finish to the match, but I dug it. Hmm, I'm not too fond of the idea that Cody Rhodes and Goldust's match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship got this high on the card for the Royal Rumble; it's wedged between Monday Night RAW's top two feuds, and therefore nobody would want to sit through too much of it. Rhodes retaining the title was fine, the match maybe went a little too long for the position on the card. I'd have switched this match's position with the WWE Divas Championship match. Rhodes denying Goldust's show of respect marked the end of the feud, potentially. I enjoyed the aftermath. Up next, the semi-main event with CM Punk defending the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler. No mention of John Laurinaitis as special referee was a little confusing however. A decent write-up, although I can't get my head around Punk and Ziggler doing an ECW-esque fast-paced stand off sequence in a match for the WWE Championship. Punk managing to overcome the odds was classic. Punk winning came as no surprise, however. And up next, the 40-man Royal Rumble. I did like the touch of Cody Rhodes and Zack Ryder as the first two men in the match, both midcard champions. My only problem with this match was the fact that so many undercarders were included here. It gave superstars like Trent Barreta (whom I don't think has ever been on an actual WWE pay-per-view in a match), Heath Slater (who needs more work in 2012 to look credible) and Camacho opportunities. However, as demonstrated with Brodus Clay, they were mainly included to serve as bait for Clay to eliminate them with ease. A good way of establishing Clay, nonetheless. He needs an angle now. Maybe with the man that manages to eliminate him? And Clay eliminating the Great Khali was ease allowed for a big push for the newcomer. One thing I must comment on about Air Boom eliminating International Airstrike was how it occurred at the exact same time, and didn't do a lot for the potential contenders to the WWE Tag Team Champions, Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel. Hopefully, Kidd and Gabriel are able to regain this momentum at some point. Poor Alex Riley didn't last long. That sucks to see. Same for both Jimmy and Jey Uso. Poor guys, hopefully 2012 is the year for them to win the WWE Tag Team Championships after two years in the company. Wade Barrett truly appears as a dark horse in this one, going through so many superstars and eliminating them. I'm just glad to see that Zack Ryder lasted quite a while. Heh, Kharma returning to the Royal Rumble was fun - perhaps it could be long term? That would be interesting. Mick Foley then returning...I'm tied on. Especially to simply eliminate Dolph Ziggler. If this indeed could be the route to a Foley and Ziggler match at WrestleMania XXVIII, that would be fine. Although I just don't see Ziggler as being too fitting as a Foley opponent - one of Mick's last matches, anyway. Not too fitting. Poor William Regal got eliminated quickly. I'd love to see one last angle for Regal. And lastly, Randy Orton, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho and Sheamus made the best of sense, I enjoyed this final exchange, a good write-up. Orton winning the Rumble in his hometown was outstanding though, I wouldn't mind seeing Chris Jericho seeking revenge on Orton tomorrow night on the RAW Supershow. Overall, this was a very well written show, with a decent write-up on everything. It's increased my intrigue for WrestleMania XXVIII, and I'm excited to see where you go from here. That said, hopefully your path from here is more unpredictable. Good work.

I read this show pretty much straight after it was posted so this reply is a little late. So apologises if anything is inaccurate.
Like I have said for me Jericho winning the Rumble was the only option, still believe that but can understand Orton winning and it should give us Orton-Bryan at Mania and Jericho/Punk doesn't necessarily need the Rumble.
Very good Rumble match!! Well done...
You clearly have plans for Rhodes he had a good night and came out looking strong.
My only issue is with your use of Cena...
Like him or not Cena is the biggest WWE star and I assume is facing Rock at Mania. The 4 weeks or so you have written makes Cena look like a simple member of the roster no bigger than any body else. You are making the effort with a lot of guys and helping reinforce others I get the feeling you have kind of forgotten about Cena.
I know at the time at this point Cena and Kane are early in their story but you are early into your diary and I believe you need to establish Cena even further because at the minute Cena/Rock does not feel special.
Cena critiscm aside still a very good show. Like Heyman I look forward to see where you take this series heading into Mania. Shame you can't post as regular

January 30th, 2012 | Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri
- WWE Raw opens tonight is a video package showing CM Punk retain his WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler last night, before cutting to Randy Orton winning his second Royal Rumble by last eliminating Chris Jericho. Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to Monday Night Raw, where we will see the fallout from the Royal Rumble and really get the Road to WrestleMania running. They hype up that tonight we will see multiple Elimination Chamber qualifying matches including The Miz taking on Zack Ryder and Alberto Del Rio going up against R-Truth.
- “Cult of Personality” blasts over the speakers as the WWE Champion makes his way down to the ring to open the show. He gets in the ring and grabs a microphone. Punk begins to talk about his match last night, once again saying that Dolph Ziggler is a tough competitor, but it was especially tough last night with John Laurinaitis being the referee. He mentions that Laurinaitis did everything in his power to make sure Punk lost the belt, but in the end, he couldn't get it done just like he couldn’t during his entire career.
- Punk is cut off by John Laurinaitis, who steps out onto the stage. The Raw General Manager introduces himself as always, and then says that he also wanted to come out and talk about last night. He says that the WWE Board of Directors contacted him during the Royal Rumble match and was upset at his actions as a referee. He has agreed to not only, never referee a match again, but he will be doing things in the interest of fairness from now on. Punk clearly doesn’t believe a word of this, but Laurinaitis continues and says that tonight Dolph Ziggler will have a chance to qualify for the Elimination Chamber in a non-title match with CM Punk later tonight! He also says that out of fairness, if Ziggler loses, he will no longer be able to challenge for the WWE Title as long as Punk is Champion. Punk looks a bit impressed at the fairness of this announcement before Laurinaitis announces that his performance is being looked at very carefully and that he will be inspected in a few weeks, live on Raw.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Alberto Del Rio w/ Ricardo Rodriguez def. R-Truth >> The crowd was very much behind R-Truth in our opening contest tonight. It honestly seems like Alberto Del Rio can’t have a bad match as this was his usual solid effort. They went back and forth throughout, with Truth getting a few near falls. He looked like he was on the verge of victory, when The Miz made his way out to the ring. As he came down the ramp, Truth got distracted. Truth shouted for him to get out, before turning and swinging at Del Rio. Del Rio ducked and locked in the Armbar! Truth had no choice but to tap out.
- Alberto Del Rio celebrated his victory as The Miz laughed at the top of the ramp. A graphic is shown of CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio as the first two guys in next month’s Elimination Chamber. Alberto Del Rio will get another chance to regain the WWE Title that he lost to CM Punk.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see the World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in the back with his girlfriend AJ Lee. She tells him that she’s still down about losing her Divas Title match last night as it’s her dream to be Champion. Daniel tells her that she should be elated because he’s still the World Heavyweight Champion. That’s what should matter in Daniel’s eyes. He says that he is here tonight to see if Randy Orton makes the mistake of challenging for his World Title at WrestleMania and that’s what AJ should be focused on. Instead, AJ is focused on the monitor at the upcoming Divas match.
- Non-Title Match: Divas Champion Beth Phoenix def. Kaitlyn >> Smackdown’s Kaitlyn gets a big opportunity in a non-title match against the WWE Divas Champion, Beth Phoenix. She put a good fight, but just like her best friend AJ, she ultimately fell short of a win over the Glamazon after being hit with the Glam Slam.
- Scott Stanford is now standing by with the Big Show. He asks the Big Show what’s next now that Daniel Bryan retained the World Title last night and he didn’t win the Royal Rumble. Show agrees that last night wasn’t a good night and was an overall failure. But he’s going to look ahead and the first thing he sees coming up is the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View and he’s looking to qualify this Friday night. He announces that Teddy Long has informed him that he will be facing Wade Barrett in a qualifying match on Smackdown!
- ===Commercial Break===
- “Voices” hits the sound system as Randy Orton, the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble match, comes down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. He gets in the ring and begins to talk about his successful return to the ring last night and how he now has to choose whether to go after the WWE Title or the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania. He saw that earlier today, Daniel Bryan admitted to being here tonight purely to see if he’d challenge for the World Title. Orton announces that he will not make his choice until after Elimination Chamber. He says that he wants to make sure he makes the smartest pick for WrestleMania.
- Randy Orton is cut off by the theme of the Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes. While walking to the ring, Rhodes says that while Orton did in fact win the Royal Rumble last night, the only thing people should be talking about is his performance last night. He entered at number 2 and lasted until past the final competitor arriving. He lasted over an hour which puts him in elite company with Rey Mysterio, Triple H and Ric Flair. He tells Randy Orton to put up his WrestleMania title shot against him right now. Orton smirks and says that’s not going to happen because he’s not stupid. If Rhodes wanted the title shot, then he should’ve won the Royal Rumble. Before anything else can happen, John Laurinaitis is shown on the titantron. He promised to make Raw the best show possible and if Smackdown guys are on it, he’s going to book them. He likes the sound of Rhodes vs. Orton, but knows there are other Smackdown guys here tonight. So he decides that we will see a tag team match right now, pitting Orton and Sheamus against Rhodes and Wade Barrett!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Randy Orton & Sheamus def. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Wade Barrett >> We got ourselves a nice, long first hour main event, with a commercial break midway through. These four guys, part of the final few guys in the Royal Rumble, put on a very good team contest. We didn’t get traditional tag formula, but it was solid nonetheless. Barrett and Orton’s interaction were very aggressive and hate filled, and it will be great once these two get another one on one match. Rhodes did not look out of place at all with these main event talents, but in the end he fell to a well-timed RKO and Randy Orton’s winning ways continues.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Dolph Ziggler is now shown in the back, along with Jack Swagger and Vickie Guerrero. Ziggler is getting ready for his match, while Vickie is nagging him about not wanting her at ringside last night. She blames his loss on the fact that she wasn’t there. Dolph stops working out and say that whether she was out there or not, it wouldn’t have changed anything. Last night was a bad night no matter how you slice it and he guarantees to get back at Mick Foley for costing him the Royal Rumble, but his focus is on the Elimination Chamber. He says that it’s time to start doing things his way, before walking off leaving Vickie stunned.
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Non-Title Match: United States Champion Zack Ryder def. The Miz >> Along with his victory over Dolph Ziggler at TLC last month, this could be considered the biggest win of Zack Ryder’s career as he now has a shot at the WWE Championship. Much like the opener earlier tonight, this was a decent back and forth contest and both men had near falls and shots to win. Also just like the opener, there was an appearance from an outside party as R-Truth showed up. The Miz was not happy about this but it eventually helped lead to his downfall as he lost to the Rough Ryder.
- As Zack Ryder celebrated up the ramp, R-Truth grabbed a microphone. He started by saying that he knows he’s done some things recently that people may call “crazy”, but one there’s one thing that he’s absolutely certain of and it’s that he wants a piece of The Miz. He enjoyed being a part of Awesome Truth, but says The Miz’s ego caused him to turn his back on the team. R-Truth says that right now, there is no “Lil Jimmy” or being scared of spiders or anything like that. He challenges The Miz to a match at Elimination Chamber. The Miz, out of breath, is handed a microphone and accepts the challenge, while R-Truth backs up the ramp smiling.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Zack Ryder is celebrating his victory in the back with John Cena. Cena congratulates him on the huge win and says that he would stay celebrating with him, but he has something to say to Kane later tonight. Ryder understands and as Cena leaves, Eve enters. She also congratulates him and says that she would like to accompany him to the ring at the Pay-Per-View. Ryder agrees and they continue to talk.
- WWE Tag Team Championship: AirBoom [c] def. International Airstrike >> At the Royal Rumble last night, these two teams really got to go at it and they did so once more tonight. The fans enjoyed a real treat here as we got to witness a fast paced, high flying battle. AirBoom really got put to the test and International Airstrike came close a few time but weren’t able to get their first taste of gold. The awesome finish came when Tyson Kidd springboarded into a Trouble in Paradise, giving Kofi Kingston the 1-2-3.
- After the match, the two teams shook hands in the middle of the ring as we continue to see highlights from the ever improving tag team division of the WWE.
- The cameras now catch WWE Champion CM Punk walking towards the arena as our main event is up next! The announcers remind us that we still are going to hear from John Cena before the broadcast is up.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Non-Title Match: Dolph Ziggler def. WWE Champion CM Punk >> Just like their match on the first Raw of 2012 and their match last night, CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler stole the show tonight. They managed to make each of the three matches slightly different and Ziggler was all about doing anything in his power to get a win here. He wasn’t even his normal showoff self as he was focused on the victory. At one point, he removed the turnbuckle pad and it came into play at the end. Punk went for the GTS, but Ziggler wriggled free, got behind Punk and shoved him into the corner. As Punk bounced off, Ziggler rolled him up and got the win.
- Dolph Ziggler quickly got out of the ring and raised his arms in victory. He shouted multiple times about how good he is and motioned that the WWE Title was going to be his. A graphic is shown of CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler as the first four Chamber participants. Michael Cole announces that next week on Raw, there will be two matches to determine the final two spots. Jack Swagger will take on Kofi Kingston while Brodus Clay goes one on one with Evan Bourne!
- ===Commercial Break===
- John Cena joins us when we return from commercial break, to his usual mixed reaction. He begins by showing a video of his loss to Kane last night, in which a fan got under Cena’s skin and caused him to maybe take things too far. He admits that he went too far and that cost him the match, but despite what Kane thinks, it wasn’t him embracing the hate of the WWE Universe. It was him embracing his newfound hatred of Kane. John Cena says that he loves the WWE Universe no matter what they think of him. He heard that Kane is not in the building tonight, but he still throws down the gauntlet. He wants to face Kane one more time, at Elimination Chamber. He even tells Kane that he can name the stipulation because he promises to defeat him.
- A big challenge was laid down by Cena, but it seemed like a bit of a lackluster close to the show. That would be fixed when Chris Jericho, in his hoodie, snuck in through the crowd with a steel chair and leveled Cena in the back! The crowd booed as Jericho soaked in their dislike. He picked up John Cena’s microphone and says that last night was a travesty. He admits that he fell just short of winning the Royal Rumble, so now he can’t win the WWE Championship…just yet. He promises that he will win the gold soon, but in the meantime, he’s turning his focus elsewhere. Jericho closes by saying that he has something huge planned for his destruction of the WWE and it just may involve WrestleMania XXVIII.

RAW Review
Either way Punk has to defend his championship inside the Elimination Chamber so it will be interesting to see if he even makes it to WrestleMania 28 as WWE Champion?
And so far Punk has qualified for the RAW Elimination Chamber because he is already the WWE Champion so he's automatically in, and then Del Rio being the former WWE Champion qualifies for the Chamber and Ziggler qualifying too and then the WWE United States Champion Zack Ryder qualifying for the Chamber, I wonder if CM Punk can even retain his title inside the Chamber with these 3 men in there but at the same time there are 2 more spots left to be filled inside the Chamber so it will be interesting to see who else qualifies for the RAW Elimination Chamber
As far as Jericho's plans go, the only thing that would make sense any sense at this point would be for Jericho to be in the RAW Chamber and qualify otherwise his mission to destroy the WWE would pretty much fail at this point unless Jericho has bigger plans like trying to end The Undertaker's 19-0 WrestleMania streak, could Jericho choose to challenge the streak? If he did, Jericho would be a worthy opponent for The Undertaker
I am calling it, it will be Chris Jericho vs The Undertaker at WrestleMania 28, will it be 20-0 or 19-1?
But as for Cena, he's already facing The Rock at WrestleMania 28 but you have to bet Rock was definitely watching RAW so you can bet Rock watched Jericho leave Cena laying and maybe we just might see Rock make an appearance some time in the next few weeks on RAW to confront Cena before their Once in a Lifetime match at WrestleMania 28
John Cena vs Kane, the perfect match for them instead of an Ambulance Match instead should be an Inferno Match or a Last Man Standing Match or a Buried Alive Match, no Buried Alive is perfect, because the only way to win that match is to bury your opponent into a shallow grave, a match Cena has never been in, a match Cena can't win and a match Kane can't lose
Truth vs Miz at Elimination Chamber, I definitely can't wait because these 2 facing one another was bound to happen at some point or another, just glad that it's at the Chamber PPV
And Orton waiting to make his WrestleMania decision, I honestly can't argue with that but at the same time I wonder who Orton will face, it all depends on who wins both the RAW and Smackdown Chamber matches, either way Orton is going to WrestleMania and he will be in the main event whether it be for the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship Orton deserves to be back where he belongs and that is back in a WrestleMania main event

February 3rd, 2012 | Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska- Highlights of the Royal Rumble are shown in the opening video package. First, focusing on Daniel Bryan retaining the World Heavyweight Title and then showing Randy Orton winning the Rumble itself. The opening pyro shoots off, signaling the start of another edition of Friday Night Smackdown. Michael Cole and Josh Matthews welcome us to a huge show as we will not only witness the fallout from the Royal Rumble, but with the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View around the corner, we’ll have Qualifying Matches tonight!
- The first Smackdown of February kicks off with the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble, Randy Orton. The Viper makes his way down to the ring and begins to talk about winning the Royal Rumble. He says that he got to talk about a bit on Raw before being cut off by Cody Rhodes, but he wanted to come out here and speak about the fact that he will be back at the very top of the WWE at WrestleMania. He isn’t sure of which belt he will go after just yet, but he will announce it after Elimination Chamber. Before he can continue, he is again cut off, but this time, by Wade Barrett. Barrett comes out to the stage and tells Orton that he hopes he challenges for the World Heavyweight Championship. After he beats Ted Dibiase tonight and goes on to qualify for the Elimination Chamber, he promises to win the World Heavyweight Title and would like nothing more than to end Randy Orton once and for all at WrestleMania.
- Daniel Bryan’s theme hits as the World Heavyweight Champion hits the stage with AJ Lee. Barrett had made his way to about the midway point of the ramp at this point. Bryan says that all this talk about winning the Royal Rumble and winning Elimination Chamber matches is crazy talk because after Elimination Chamber, he will still be the World Heavyweight Champion and after WrestleMania he will still be the Champion. He guarantees that nobody will take the belt that he’s earned. According to Bryan, if Mark Henry and Big Show couldn’t get the job done over the past few weeks and couldn’t do it together at the Royal Rumble, what makes them think they can do it. Orton says that Bryan has never faced someone as ruthless as he is, and Barrett cuts him off, saying Orton has never faced someone as ruthless as he is. They are cut off by General Manager Teddy Long appearing on the screen. He says that Orton has the night off as he won’t be qualifying for the Elimination Chamber with his guaranteed match at WrestleMania and Wade is already busy with Ted Dibiase in a qualifier. That leaves Daniel Bryan, and Long says that there is a Superstar looking for an opportunity tonight and if they can beat Bryan in a non-title match, they will get into the Chamber. Bryan asks who it is but Long says he will see in tonight’s main event!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Sheamus def. Drew McIntyre >> Drew McIntyre’s job is no longer on the line with each match, and he got a huge opportunity here. This was a different McIntyre it seemed as he didn’t get squashed at all. He actually managed a few near falls and kept this close with the “Celtic Warrior.” Despite his best efforts though, Sheamus has just been on too much of a roll lately and picked up the win with a Brogue Kick.
- A graphic is shown for Elimination Chamber, highlighting that Sheamus and Daniel Bryan are the two men set to enter so far.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Cameron is standing by with Mark Henry as we cut to the back. She asks him how he feels about his qualifying match tonight, which is against his rival, the Big Show. Henry says he doesn’t understand how many times he has to beat the Big Show before they stop putting them together. He says Big Show is the reason Daniel Bryan is Champion right now, but Henry will end that at Elimination Chamber.
- The Usos def. International Airstrike >> International Airstrike has been on a tear since they joined forces a few weeks back, but they fell victim to AirBoom this past Monday on Raw. Speaking of AirBoom, the WWE Tag Team Champions were on commentary for this contest. The match itself was very good as the tag team division seems to be heating up as of late. After some hot back and forth action, The Usos picked up the win after a big top rope splash from Jey.
- After the match, The Usos signaled to AirBoom that they want the next shot at the straps. AirBoom seemed up for the challenge as we head to commercial.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see Theodore Long and Hornswoggle in the General Manager’s office. Surprisingly, Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis enters. He shakes Long’s hand and Long asks why he’s here. John says he’s just here to enjoy some fine Friday Night Smackdown action. Long is suspicious of this and allows him to stay in the office, when Aksana shows up. She does her usual flirty thing with Long and Laurinaitis mentions that it doesn’t seem appropriate. Long backs away from Aksana and says there is nothing going on inappropriate between them and tells Aksana that she has a tag match tonight to get ready for.
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Mark Henry and Big Show fought to a double countout >> These two had a bitter rivalry in the tail end of 2011 and it has spilled over into 2012. Despite neither man managing to wrangle the World Heavyweight Championship away from Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble, they both believe that another shot is all they need to be Champion again. This was the usual big man brawl between the two and it culminated when the action spilled to the outside. Their battle waged on past the referee’s ten count and the crowd wasn’t pleased with the finish.
- ==Commercial Break===
- In the General Manager’s office once again, we see John Laurinaitis asking Theodore Long what he plans to do now that one of his Elimination Chamber matches has not had a definitive winner. Long says that he’s thinking of a solution. Laurinaitis makes a backhanded comment about how this would never happen under his watch. Long decides that both Big Show and Mark Henry will be entered into the Elimination Chamber. The crowd seems to be more on board with this decision than they were with the double countout.
- We see Daniel Bryan and AJ in Bryan’s locker room and he’s watching on a monitor. He is highly upset at the thought of having to face Henry and Show again, along with Sheamus. He claims that it’s a travesty and that Show and Henry shouldn’t get another chance. He then complains about his unknown opponent in the main event tonight. He demands AJ give him a shoulder massage to put him in a better mood. After a few moments, he makes her stop and tells her to call a real masseuse because she isn’t doing it well enough.
- ===Commercial Break===
- “Smoke and Mirrors” plays as the Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes makes his way out to the ring. He gets in the ring and, just like Monday night on Raw, he starts by bragging about lasting one hour in the Royal Rumble. He is the first man to survive from the start of the Rumble until past the 40th participant and he won’t let us forget it. He admits that it was one crucial mistake that cost him the match and he shows us the footage of Orton ducking as Rhodes went over the top, citing that nobody technically eliminated him. He then turns his attention to his Intercontinental Title and takes us to the footage of him retaining the belt over his brother, Goldust. Cody says that not only is he still Champion, but he has shamed the man who shames his family name.
- Goldust’s theme hits as “The Bizarre One” comes to the ring with no face paint and in street clothes. He gets in the ring and grabs a microphone. He tells Cody that he was the better man at the Royal Rumble and he respects that. He admits that he had some dark times in his career where he felt like their father, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, would’ve been ashamed. However, he feels like he’s made it past that and earned the respect of his dad and of the WWE Universe. He wants Cody to feel the same way and that’s part of why he offered to shake his hand after their match. But Cody had to slap it away, so he’s here to offer it once more. He extends his hand but Cody just stares at it. Cody says that he will not show a sign of respect because he doesn’t respect his older brother. Goldust is upset at this and says that was Cody’s last chance. He is done trying to teach his brother respect and he wants to beat it into him, so he demands another Intercontinental Title match. Cody declines saying he has nothing to prove. Goldust slaps him and says that if he is the best of their family he should have no problem beating him again. Cody thinks it over and decides that he will give him another shot, but only on one condition. He wants to end Goldust for good and says he can have the shot if he puts his career on the line. Goldust accepts and Cody says that he will see him at Elimination Chamber.
- ===Commercial Break===
- AJ Lee & Kaitlyn def. Divas Champion Beth Phoenix & Aksana >> Teddy Long promised that Aksana would be in tag action tonight and it did happen. Phoenix looked to have no interest in Aksana as a partner, while the self-proclaimed “Chick Busters” were eager to team and had great chemistry. After a short match, AJ put down Aksana with a Shining Wizard.
- The Chick Busters celebrated up the ramp as Beth Phoenix entered the ring. She looked disappointed in Aksana as she stood up. Beth Phoenix began to help her up, only to nail her with the Glam Slam! The Glamazon raised the Divas Title high over her head.
- Cameron is standing by Wade Barrett and she asks him about his upcoming Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match with Ted Dibiase. Barrett smirks and says that he guarantees that he will qualify tonight and win the title at Elimination Chamber. He prays that Randy Orton chooses to face the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania so he can take him out on the grandest stage of them all. As for his opponent tonight, he says that the so-called “Dibiase Posse” won’t be able to stop the Barrett Barrage.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Ted Dibiase def. Wade Barrett >> Well this may have been the biggest upset of the young year. Dibiase is no slouch, but Barrett has been on such a roll lately that most expected him to win here. He was in control late in the match though when the theme of Randy Orton hit. Barrett instantly turned his focus to the stage and awaited Orton. After a few seconds there was no sign of “The Viper”, so Barrett turned back to Dibiase only to be pulled into a small package for the 3!
- Ted Dibiase celebrated along with his Dibiase Posse as Barrett stayed in the ring and looked completely stunned. The crowd popped pretty big for the upset and we are shown an updated graphic for the Elimination Chamber including Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Big Show and Ted Dibiase!
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to Teddy Long’s office once more and John Laurinaitis says that he is impressed with the Smackdown roster, but not with how it is run. Long tells him that he’s been doing this GM thing a lot longer than him and that he should sit back and enjoy this main event and see the surprise.
- Elimination Chamber Non-Title Qualifying Match: Christian def. World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan w/ AJ Lee >> The Superstar who wanted a shot at qualifying for the Elimination Chamber was “Captain Charisma” himself! The returning Christian shocked the WWE Universe and Daniel Bryan before engaging in the match of the night. It featured plenty of near falls and some attempts at underhanded tactics by the Champion. Bryan managed to hook in the LeBelle Lock and it looked like Christian would tap, but he managed to reach the ropes. Bryan looked upset and climbed to the top. He went for a flying headbutt, but Christian moved out of the way. He then connected with a Spear and followed it with the Frog Splash for the victory!
- Christian celebrates victory in his return as he has just pinned the World Heavyweight Champion. The announcers mention that this has to give him a leg up over the other competitors in the Elimination Chamber. He continues to celebrate as the show closes.

so great Smackdown with Randy Orton talking about his 40-Man Royal Rumble Victory, only to have it interrupted by Wade Barrett, then Daniel Bryan and AJ both come out and Teddy Long talking about the elimination chamber qualifyiers including Daniel Bryan being put in a match with one of the superstars who will qualify, Good victory for Sheamus over his Europe Fella Drew Mcintyre, Lot of teams heating up and wanting a shot at Air Boom's tag team titles with The Usos gaining the victory, Aksana and Long, hmmm seems appropriate to me, I hope Aksana turns on Long and joins up with Laurinatis, so both Henry and Show get a double countout victory that means both men are going to the Elimination Chamber, what will happen with them, will the chamber break if they do the Superplex again like they do at Vengeance, just teasing. A weird massage in the room with AJ and Bryan, I hope AJ turns on Bryan at Elimination Chamber and eventually costs him the World Heavyweight Championship, but that's just my opinion, Brother vs Brother for the Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber, Hope this is the last time we see Cody and Goldust fight one more time seeing as this is a career vs title match, but maybe Goldust could win at Elimination Chamber, it could happen. Great win by the Chickbusters, AJ is not done with Beth Phoenix by a long shot but Beth showing her dominance on Aksana making any diva be put on notice, don't trust anyone, hope a AJ/Beth re-match is in the future, or maybe a Triple Threat for the Divas Title at Elimination Chamber with Kaitlyn, Dibiase is in the Elimination Chamber Match by getting a win over Wade Barrett with distraction from former Legacy Member Randy Orton, and great way to see Christian back as a fan favorite, he finally gets his one more match at The Elimination Chamber for the World Heavyweight Championship, you did a great job with this show man, appreciate the feedback from my WWF 1993 Diary.

I didn't pay hardly any attention to the WWE in 2012 so I can't really compare your diary to what happened in real life. The only thing I remember is CM Punk holding the WWE Title the entire year, and I'm curious to see if you go down that route.
That said you've got some pretty good shows to begin the build toward Elimination Chamber and eventually Wrestlemania. Wonder which way Orton is going to go with his title shot,a nd what it means for the other champion. Seems like you're setting up some sort of confrontation between Cena and Jericho, even though Cena still has his thing going on with Kane. Wonder what this thing Jericho has planned is, guess we'll have to keep 'tuning in' to find out. Nice return with Christian, pinning Bryan in his match. I can see him winning the Smackdown EC and facing Bryan while Orton goes after Punk.
Good pair of shows here and hopefully we can get the next part of the story soon.
And I'd appreciate some feedback in my diary as well.

Good to see you back, Smack Down was a good little show.
Setting up the chamber match well and also giving us a blow off between Orton and Barrett.
I was always a fan of Ted DiBiase so happy too see you get behind him. You also seem to have big plans for Cody Rhodes in the long term but after going an hour in the Rumble and a big segment on Raw going back to Goldust seems like a little demotion but there's still time for you to get fully behind Rhodes.
Good show and you being back adds more quality to the board

February 6th, 2012 | Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
- Following the WWE Signature, opening video and fireworks, we are welcomed to the broadcast by Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler. They promise that a big night is in store for us as they remind us of the final two Elimination Chamber Qualifying matches and they inform us of Chris Jericho’s first singles match since his return. He will take on the man who outlasted him at the end of the Royal Rumble this year, Randy Orton!
- Much like the end of last week’s Raw, we are joined by John Cena. He looks like he is all business tonight and he instantly starts by saying the name, Chris Jericho. He says that ever since he returned, he decided that it’s okay to just attack whoever he feels like. Then when people call him out like CM Punk did, he either doesn’t show up or waits until their back is turned again. So he’s going to call out Jericho but he honestly doesn’t expect an answer. When Jericho doesn’t answer, Cena says that his time will come, but he knows somebody that has had no problem showing up when Cena calls him out. That person is Kane and he demanded a rematch last week and he wants his answer right now. Right on cue, fire explodes from the entrance as the Big Red Machine comes down the ramp. He gets inside and grabs a microphone.
- Kane says that he likes the idea of another match with John Cena because, while he doesn’t have anything to prove after beating him at the Royal Rumble, he relishes at the opportunity to make him embrace the hate. He caught a glimpse of it this past Sunday and he loved it. Cena says that he is not embracing the hate as Kane calls it, but he wants to focus on the match. He said Kane could name the stipulation; so he wants to know what he chooses. Kane laughs into the microphone and says that their next match will be an Inferno match. He promises that if Cena doesn’t embrace he hate, then he will burn in hell. Cena is fine with that stipulation and says that he wants to get things started right now. Cena charges at Kane and the two men brawl. They spill to the outside until referees are able to separate them.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Scott Stanford is standing by with the United States Champion Zack Ryder, when we return. He asks him how he feels about qualifying for the Elimination Chamber and getting a shot at the WWE Title. Ryder says that it is a dream come true and he would love nothing more than to be the WWE Champion. However, he has respect for the WWE Champion and his partner tonight, CM Punk. Punk comes up behind Ryder and says that he appreciates that. He goes on to say that tonight they team up to face Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler, the other two participants in the Elimination Chamber. He is sick and tired of Ziggler at this point and always loves to get his hands on Del Rio. Tonight, they are teammates but he expects great competition from Ryder in the Chamber. Ryder smiles and says “woo woo woo, you know it.”
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Kofi Kingston w/ Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger >> Both of these men are looking for a chance to break out once more in their careers and they’re hoping the Elimination Chamber is the key. As expected, the contest was a solid back and forth match with lots of action and near falls. Swagger attempted to put his feet on the ropes for leverage during a pin, but Bourne knocked them off. Swagger was furious at this and began to argue with Bourne. He turned to Kingston, who went for Trouble in Paradise, but Swagger caught his foot and locked in the Ankle Lock! Kingston was on the verge of tapping out, but rolled out of the move and sent Swagger into the corner. Kingston then caught him with Trouble in Paradise for the win!
- AirBoom celebrated the victory as they hope Evan Bourne can join Kingston in the Elimination Chamber later tonight. We cut to the back where John Laurinaitis is in his office with David Otunga. Otunga says that he saw Mr. Laurinaitis this past week on Smackdown and feels like he would do a much better job running Friday nights than Theodore Long does. Laurinaitis thanks him and says that he knows he would do a better job and he has a challenge for Teddy Long. He says that he has sent word and has offered to switch shows for one week next week. Otunga likes the idea but says he doesn’t look forward to working with Long next week.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Wade Barrett def. Santino Marella >> Wade Barrett was clearly in an aggressive mood after failing to qualify for the Elimination Chamber this past week. Santino put up a good fight and had the crowd clearly behind him, but Barrett was too much for him tonight and managed to wrap this one up with a huge Wasteland.
- After the match, Barrett grabbed a microphone and says that last week Ted Dibiase got lucky when he qualified for the Elimination Chamber. The only reason he beat him was because of a distraction from Randy Orton. He vows to get revenge on Randy Orton and he says that he will be on commentary during Orton’s match with Chris Jericho coming up.
- Dolph Ziggler is shown in the back preparing for the match with Vickie Guerrero. Jack Swagger shows up, still hurting from his match earlier and wants to know why Vickie wasn’t out there with him. She says that she was helping Dolph get ready. Swagger says that it’s always about Dolph and says that since he joined this little team, nothing positive has happened. He says that he’s done with this and claims that it’s time to do his own thing.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see a highlight video of the things Chris Jericho has done since his return including attacking CM Punk, John Cena and numerous other Superstars and being the runner up in the 2012 Royal Rumble.
- Scott Stanford is now in the back with R-Truth. He asks R-Truth for his thoughts on appearing on the debut episode of “Miz TV” today. R-Truth says he doesn’t know what Miz TV is, but he is upset that he was invited and not Little Jimmy. He says that he will be bringing Little Jimmy with him and if Miz has a problem with that, then he can take it to the bank! He walks off leaving Scott Stanford confused at R-Truth’s odd choice of words.
- AirBoom is shown backstage celebrating Kofi Kingston’s qualification for the Elimination Chamber. Kofi says that it’s all about Evan Bourne qualifying later on. Bourne admits to being a bit worried about Brodus Clay because he’s been nothing but a monster since his debut. Kofi tells him that the bigger they are, the harder they fall. CM Punk shows up on scene and congratulates his former Tag Team Champion partner on qualifying. He says that he is happy for Kofi about qualifying, but tells him that if he thinks he’s going to take the WWE Title from him, he has another thing coming. Kofi appreciates the congratulations and the competition, but says it’s about time he wins the big one in his career. Punk smirks, pats him on the back and walks off.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Chris Jericho def. Randy Orton >> It was fantastic to see Chris Jericho back in a WWE ring as we only got a sample during the Royal Rumble. He clearly hasn’t lost a step and put on the match of the night with Randy Orton. They got a lot of time and made very good use of it with a greatly paced contest. Wade Barrett provided some excellent commentary throughout the match, but near the end, he stood up and this distracted Orton somewhat. Orton turned back to Jericho and managed to duck an enziguri. He went for the RKO next, but Jericho pushed him off into the ropes and Orton came back right into a Codebreaker! He hooked the leg and got the victory.
- After the match Chris Jericho grabbed the microphone and was about to speak when John Cena came rushing down to the ring, looking for revenge for last week, but Jericho backed out of the ring. John Laurinaitis’ theme hit as he came out to the stage. He says that in the interest of “People Power” and him being the best General Manager in the history of Monday Night Raw, he announces that next week we will see Chris Jericho go one on one with John Cena! The crowd and Cena love the announcement as Jericho looks on without much emotion.
- ===Commercial Break===
- We return to see the ring setup for what looks to be a talk show called Miz TV. On cue, The Miz’s theme hits as the self-proclaimed former “Most Must See WWE Champion” comes down to the ring. He welcomes the WWE Universe to the debut of Miz TV, what he says will be the greatest talk show in the history of the WWE. Better than Piper’s Pit, The Highlight Reel, The Cutting Edge and The Peep Show. It begins with his first ever guest tonight, the ever interesting, R-Truth. R-Truth comes out, bringing along “Little Jimmy”. Miz thanks them for being here and he promises Truth that he has no bad intentions tonight. He wants to save the physical stuff for Elimination Chamber. Miz instead, chooses verbal jabs over physical ones as he asks some pretty degrading and embarrassing questions. He asks Truth how it feels to fly solo after being carried by The Miz, how it feels to be the reason they lost their biggest match ever against The Rock and John Cena and how it feels to be insane and believe that Little Jimmy is actually real. Truth got angrier with each question, but the one about being insane and Little Jimmy pushed him over the edge. Truth got up and tossed his stool to the side before getting right into Miz’s face. Miz tells him to relax and claims that he was joking. He goes to say something else, but instead levels Truth with the microphone. He then pounces on him and levels him a few more times. He continues the assault by tossing him to the outside and throwing him into the guardrail before getting the announce table prepared. He positions Truth on it and lifts him to his feet before nailing him with the Skull Crushing Finale through the table! Miz leaves up the ramp to boos as officials check on Truth.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Brodus Clay def. Evan Bourne w/ Kofi Kingston >> This wasn’t as close of a battle as the previous Elimination Chamber Qualifying match but it was still quite good. Clay has shown that he is an agile big man and those guys can be fun to watch. Bourne played the obvious underdog role to perfection and came close on two separate occasions, but in the end, Clay hit the Fall of Humanity and is on his way to Elimination Chamber.
- Brodus Clay posed in the middle of the ring and looks like he’s going to be a big threat in the Elimination Chamber match.
- ===Commercial Break===
- When we return, the Divas Champion Beth Phoenix is in the ring. She says that she is out here to watch the upcoming eight Divas tag team match, but not for scouting purposes. She’s out to see if she can find one Diva on the roster that is worthy of another shot at her belt. She’s beaten all of them and feels like she shouldn’t even ever have to defend the belt again.
- Eight Divas Tag Team Match: The Bella Twins, Rosa Mendes and Tamina def. AJ Lee, Eve, Kaitlyn & Kelly Kelly >> We were treated to our typical Divas tag match as in it didn’t get much time and seemed a bit rushed. Not all of the Divas got a chance for in-ring action, but after a short while, Tamina put down Kaitlyn with a superkick.
- Tamina instantly looked to the outside once she got the win and pointed at Beth Phoenix. She began to shout something along the lines of “you haven’t beaten me.” Beth Phoenix smirked and could be seen saying “not yet.”
- We get a final look at the General Manager’s office and John Laurinaitis, David Otunga and World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. Laurinaitis gets off of the phone and announces that Theodore Long has accepted his proposal for a GM swap next week. Bryan says that he’s glad he came in here to get to know his General Manager for next week. He says something about “if only AJ could be like me and actually win” before heading out. Laurinaitis says that he will show the world who the better General Manager truly is.
- ===Commercial Break===
- WWE Champion CM Punk and United States Champion Zack Ryder def. Dolph Ziggler & Alberto Del Rio w/ Ricardo Rodriguez & Vickie Guerrero >> As you would expect from these four pros, we were treated to a very good main event. Ziggler and Del Rio focused their attack on cutting the ring in half and working over Ryder throughout the match. Of course, as with tag matches, Ryder eventually made the hot tag and the WWE Champion came in to light up his opponents. He was on fire until Rodriguez tried to get involve. Punk stopped him, but that allowed Del Rio to lock him in the Cross Armbar. Punk managed to reach the ropes and shortly after, hoisted Del Rio up for the Go to Sleep. Vickie chose this time to get on the apron which allowed Ziggler to sneak in. Unfortunately for him, he was met with a kick to the head by Punk. Punk tagged in Ryder, who connected with the Rough Ryder on Del Rio to gain victory!
- Zack Ryder and CM Punk celebrated their win as Ziggler and Del Rio were down. Ryder went to the outside and got their respective belts. He handed the WWE Title to Punk, but held onto it, making Punk have a bit of a tug of war to get it. Ryder pointed at the belt and left the ring as Punk stared him down. Punk then raised the WWE Title high in the air as the show came to a close.

well, great show for RAW, good start with Cena coming down to address Jericho and then Kane, an inferno match at Elimination Chamber is what's best for business, and loved the brawl between Cena and Kane, great interview with Ryder and Punk, Great win for Kingston over Swagger, good win for Barrett as well defeating Santino Marella, hoping Barrett gets back to the World Heavyweight Championship picture and maybe eventually he will take out somebody who's going to qualify for the Chamber and add his name to the list so he can become World Heavyweight Champion and re-ignite his feud with Orton so Orton can win the title at WrestleMania, good win for Jericho over the Royal Rumble Winner Orton, a big upset but can he keep it up next week as he faces John Cena one-on-one, Miz and Truth segment was kinda meh with Miz beating Truth down, and now Brodus is going to be part of the Elimination Chamber, I hope everybody takes notice at that, but I hope Brodus Clay doesn't become WWE Champion at this rate, I'm glad you're not using the Funkasaurus gimmick as well, a big eight-divas tag team match with The Bellas, Rosa and Tamina defeating AJ, Kaitlyn, Eve and Kelly Kelly, surprised you haven't turned Eve heel at all. But a Tamina/Beth match at Elimination Chamber would be a good one, I don't think Daniel Bryan didn't like AJ winning at all and wishing she would win every match, to be quite honest I think AJ is going to turn on Bryan, I think either Daniel or AJ will turn face, have AJ cost Bryan the World Heavyweight Championship at the Elimination Chamber but who knows, great main-event win for Punk and Ryder, but Ryder and Punk tugging at the WWE Championship belt, ha ha very funny. Punk's going to have 5 contenders on his gate to get at the WWE Championship, But I think Punk will get a good victory here on the Road to WrestleMania, Great show man. Keep it up,

Either way for your Elimination Chamber pay per view, for the WWE Championship it seems the field has been set for the RAW Chamber that it will be Punk defending his WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber against Brodus Clay, Zack Ryder, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston but personally when I look at the RAW Chamber right now, I look at it as I say to myself that Chris Jericho should be in the RAW Chamber but he is not for some reason and that reason completely escapes me because Jericho if anything he deserves to be in the Chamber certainly a whole lot more than some people like Ryder or even Del Rio for that matter
But I wonder if you have different plans for Jericho? If you do then I wonder if Jericho will be facing Cena at the Chamber PPV? If that is the case then I would love to see Jericho go over Cena considering Jericho whenever he and Cena have faced off in the past it has always been Cena that has won, I don't even think Jericho has ever beaten Cena once in his career because Cena has had Jericho's number ever since they have faced one another so it would be nice if Jericho got one over on Cena for once
But then again Cena he has Rock at WrestleMania 28 so you probably want to book Cena strong heading into Mania but then again you have Jericho if he is going to challenge The Streak and you are going to have Jericho face Taker at WrestleMania 28 in a Streak Match (20-0 or 19-1) then you are going to have to book Jericho strong heading into that so something is going to have to give
But personally to me the Smackdown Chamber looks better to me on paper because you have Bryan defending his title inside the Chamber against Show, Henry, DiBiase, Sheamus, and Christian and personally Bryan he has the odds stacked against him that's for sure but if anything Wade Barrett I can see him somehow taking someone out before the Chamber match even starts and Barrett then taking their place inside the Chamber but if that doesn't happen then I can see Barrett facing Orton at the Chamber pay per view one last time, the final encounter for Barrett and Orton
But oh yes Orton still has to make his WrestleMania decision since he won the 40-man Royal Rumble Match, Orton has to decide which champion he is going to face at WrestleMania 28, he is going to have to choose either the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship but Orton I can somehow see him making his decision after the Chamber matches are over or he ends up probably making his decision the night after Elimination Chamber on RAW
As for Rhodes/Goldust Brother vs Brother, IC Title vs Career, this match has so much riding on it, Goldust's career is on the line because if he loses he's gone, his career is over he has to retire but if Goldust wins then he becomes the new IC Champion ending Cody's reign as champion but either way I wonder if The American Dream Dusty Rhodes if he will be in attendance for this match considering his 2 sons are going at it here on the pay per view?

Raw was a good little show setting up the Raw chamber. Your graphics for the chamber are great by the way! Cena/Kane in an inferno match is interesting and should have Cena looking strong heading into Mania.
Jericho/Orton should have Main evented Raw in my opinion but that's a small compliment. Like I said a descent little show, I'm just waiting now for something to grab my attention.
