After seeing this argument come up in a different thread (the thread had nothing do with my question) I started to think why does everyone hate the 2009 and 2010 years of WWE? I mean in 2009 we had Orton/Cena ending their feud, Edge/Cena ending their feud in an epic LMS match, Orton/Triple H leading up to Mania along with Michaels and Undertaker, the hardy feud, Legacy and DX. Can't forget about Jeri-Show, Jericho/Mysterio feud, The first run of gimmick PPV's..2009 was a lot better than 2010. And in 2010 we had the Shawn Michaels/Undertaker story, the Straight Edge society, the rise of The Miz, the whole Nexus run, commentator CM Punk. I thought those were all great feuds.
So my question to you guys is did you hate 2009/and 2010 if so then why?

That and the Anonymous GM were the only things I didn't like, but I think the other stuff in those 2 years out weigh it.

That and the Anonymous GM were the only things I didn't like, but I think the other stuff in those 2 years out weigh it. Raw was always dreadful during that period. There were some good spots but they are outdone by the guest hosts. Like I loved the HBK/JBL storyline. ECW though was the greatest. It was great watching it because it was the night after Raw and you could count on a great show to get rid of the taste of the terrible Raw. Of course they ended that but NXT was still better than Raw.

I enjoyed 09-10 because CM Punk was so damn entertaining as a heel and with the whole SES thing. Smackdown was the better brand and it hasn't been the same for awhile now.

Raw was terrible then but Smackdown was really good. I watched the "best of Raw and SD" DVDs recently and there so different in quality in that time period, Raw was just a collection of pointless promos, skits and short matches whereas Smackdown had a lot of great matches with a couple of promos thrown in.
NXT was good too but Raw being the "flagship show" and being crap made WWE look worse as a whole and the gimmick PPV concept is terrible.

I liked a majority of 2010, we had that awesome fatal 4 way TLC match for the World Heavyweight Championship, Edge and Kane's feud was alright, we saw the return of Paul Bearer. We had another Kane & Undertaker feud, The Nexus were pretty good for a while, I really enjoyed The Miz in 2010, especially when he cashed in that MITB.
However, 2009 wasn't a great year imo. I just flat out didn't enjoy it, I only enjoyed JeriShow and The Undertaker & Shawn Michaels feud, everything else was just... average at best. Oh and I can't forget the Jericho & Steamboat match along with Jericho and Mysterio's feud.

I loved 2009. I was really into WWE the whole year and the only thing that really bugged me was Matt Hardy being revealed as Jeff's attacker. I loved Undertaker throughout the year, Punk and Jeff main eventing PPVs as fresh main faces. Legacy vs McMahons, Legacy vs DX, Batista vs Orton, Ric Flair returning, Jericho vs Mysterio, the beginning of The Miz on RAW, the Unified Tag Team Titles, Jeri-Show, Christian as ECW Champion (which I count as his first two World Titles. 2010 was okay. The Miz as WWE Champion is number one for me, The Nexus was brilliant, and Kane finally getting a proper World Title reign. Daniel Bryan returning at SummerSlam was epic. I also enjoyed Swagger's three month main event period. As well as "Dashing" Cody Rhodes.

2009 was horrible. Only good things about that year involved Jericho pretty much. It got a tad bit better at the end leading into 2010 I guess.
2010 was good for the most part. Bret Hart's return, Kane winning the World Heavyweight Championship and feuding with Taker. The Nexus (they were interesting at first, got stale after a while), the continuation of Douchebag Batista and the rise of The Miz who I liked more at the time than now.

SmackDown in 2009 was pretty good and we got that Punk/Hardy feud, RAW was terrible however. 2010 was just awful, NOTHING was ever resolved.

When it comes to 2009, I have fond memories of Smackdown being really great, some of the best SD! Shows since Heyman was head booker back in late '02-early '04. Smackdown had a great feud between CM Punk and Jeff Hardy over the World Heavyweight Championship, guys like Morrison, Ziggler, and Mysterio were delivering quality matches every week, and Jeri-Show was giving some credibility to the Unified Tag Team Titles. Raw, on the other hand was just awful for the most part. Cena and Orton were trading the WWE title every 3 weeks like it was a hot potato, the Raw guest hosts were involved in some very horrible skits that added nothing to the shows, Chavo/hornswoggle feud, little people's court. Just some bad stuff
2010 wasn't that bad in my opinion. 2010 had some good things going like Kane's World Heavyweight Title run, The Nexus angle was hot for a while, The SES were pretty entertaining, Ziggler and Kofi were having entertaining matches for the IC Title, Daniel Bryan made his debut and would win the US title at NOC, the debut of NXT among other things. Of course, there were some things that kind of sucked, Jack Swagger as WHC out of nowhere, Sheamus winning the WWE title and being booked as a coward, the Nexus angle falling flat after Cena started to make Nexus look bad beginning at SummerSlam.
Edit: How could I forget Bret's return in 2010 after the Montreal Screwjob.

I loved the build to Mania 26 honestly. I enjoyed WWE a great amount from SummerSlam 2009 up to Extreme Rules 2010.

The WWE sucked from WrestleMania 25 until mid-2011. You had too much Hornswoggle, bringing up the all their top developmental guys as one group because they had no ideas for them as individuals, the Miz being portrayed as the baddest man on the planet and all the guest hosts crap. The Raws with Jeremy Piven, Johnny Damon and Jerry Springer as Guest GMs were 3 of the worst episodes ever. I enjoyed WWE a lot from 2002-2008, but it was at this time that I couldn't take it anymore and I didn't blame TNA for trying to compete on Monday nights because of how bad the WWE was at that time.

2007-2010 just felt awkward as . One of their worst period imo. But on the bright side 2011 to present has been great.
