Well yeah I agree with them to a point especially if the contracts are running out.
I'd want all these updated with new heads where needed as we have seen an increase in head size since most of these were done in the past.
Even Martel who I thought was the perfect figure has a smallish head.
Anyway:
Early 90s Piper - Slightly bigger body, new head.
Sgt Slaughter Camo - Bigger head
Rick Rude - Long hair version, bigger head
M$M - New bigger head, shiny boots
British Bulldog - Dreads version and possibly Allied powers to go with Lex...?
Bret - Early tag Bret and anogther iconic Bret with new head.
O.M.G
Magnum T.A
Rick Martel
LOD - Red and Black. New heads
Snuka - Barefoot, new head
Macho Man - Neon Cowboy
HBK - early singles and others
Mr Perfect - start again. Bigger body and smaller in scale
Marty Jennety - Singles
Jerry Lawler - feud with Bret look
Mick Foley - Dude Love
DDP - In jeans taped ribs new head
The Rock - Corporation Rock
Goldust - Mid 90s thicker body
Eddie Guerrero - Latino head longish hair
Big Bossman - Swat late 90s
JBL - Even just a basic with new bigger better head for swaps
Maybe they should pack a Flashback in every basic set!
It would give are Legends new bigger headsculpts and would probably help the line to have less repaints and more Variety...
Edit: it actually makes me sad that contracts could be coming to a end and we could have missed out on a definitive version of that Legend or Mattel done to perfection version.
MDT are great but sadly they don't always get it right
Oh really...hmm
I'm unsure on which are more accurate but I've been liking the bigger ones more. I'll have to do more research.
The heads were coming out at different sizes back when the Legends were coming out as Rick Rude, Iron Sheik and E6 Batista have (way too) small heads but Nickoli Volkoff, Demolition and Bob Orton have larger heads.
Been looking over my collection and the heads on some of the figures really do seem tiny...
So I'm glad Mattel have changed it up and are keeping all the latest figures in scale which each other.
It's a shame the older figures that may never get re-released aren't going to fit in as well.
Anyway I'll compare figures to pics to see if the newer heads are too big...
