I feel great to be back here and in the loop again. This past month has been crazy for me. I had a terrible living arrangement with my sister-in-law and her piece of garbage boyfriend which ended with them stiffing us two months rent.
I had to cut internet to curb any expenses I had, but now I've got internet with unlimited data for my phone. I don't have television, haven't for over two years now, so without internet I felt so isolated. I was working as much as I could to get the last bit of money they shorted us covered, and then is have to come home and pack for our move/unpack after the move. I'm mostly settled in, but I had no idea how depressing it is in this day and age not to be in the know. I had no news for a month, and no idea what people were talking about.
I'm gracious for getting back on track and glad to be back on this board and engaging in discussion about something I'm passionate about.

I totally agree! After you get internet it's really hard to go back to life without it, I personally couldn't do it as I rely on it too much for talking to friends, wrestling stuff, YouTube, Twitter and everything else.
I had a period for a week in late September through to the first few days of October where I had no internet due to money constraints and it was pretty hard to be honest, as I use it quite a lot, I felt beyond bored at nights. I went to the library a couple of times that week so I didn't go totally without connecting. Felt weird.

Honestly, it's a little refreshing to do without it once in a while. Some of my best days are when I intentionally leave my phone & go out, or stay away from the computer.
Watching the news at times, it's pathetic how they will rely on social media comments from random people to express the public's position on topics. In the words of Jon Stewart when asked if he cares what the average person thinks about certain issues, "Not really, no!"
Having said that, I feel your pain for a long duration.

I had a connection problem in March and it was down for about a month. It was ok but I missed it quite a bit. It was just a good job I was really into drawing at the time

at least when it's down, you're raising your chance at avoiding finding out things about an ex that'll p*& # you off

I couldn't survive without it. My job depends on it.

Life without Internet is f'in terrible. I have a technology curse, I swear. Either a computer breaks down or I lose Internet. As of recently I've been pretty lucky and have been rather conservative with my new PC and been on Charter's butt when Internet starts acting up. Last year we were without Internet from February 2012 to August 2012. Worst. Months. Ever. And I'll be damn sure that doesn't happen again.

You don't realize how much you love the internet until you can't use it anymore.
Welcome back, bruddah.

Damn 2 months without it would be brutal for me.
At least you have it now though; good luck not having it go away anytime soon.

I must confess that one of my worst problems without having the internet was related to my lack of free time. I have only one job now, but I spent the time that I graduated Highschool in 2004 until 2012 working a minimum of 2 jobs, at one point 3, so I don't have many friends. Now that I'm older, have better social skills and all, I'm prime to be able to interact and go out more and have friends, except I'm momentarily broke. I live in a rather dead town anyway, and most of my friends live too far away. I watched a lot of movies last month to kill time. I tried to draw too. Didn't produce anything worthwhile.
I will say that the lack of internet has helped me realize that I need balance, but I also need a little interaction with people near or far to get through a day too.

Longest I've gone without the internet from what I can remember is 15 days. Those 15 days sucked. First world problems at its finest.

I was without internet for months at a time....you know what I found again? a great love called the outside world. I realized I had friends outside of social media. I got exercise and felt in the best shape of my life. Actually I don't use the internet until late at night....its better that way.

I'm in the situation right now, in a way. The actual wifi connection at my house is screwed up, so I've been having to use my phone's data plan for everything. It's very limited, though, so we can't use it connected to our computer or it will run out. So for the past month me and my sister both have been having to go to hotspots to do online school work. I can't play games online, or download any of the NWO DLC on wwe 2K14, or just do anything on a computer. It sucks, but I've been managing. It's not like I've been missing anything since I have my phone.

My life seemed to be much better before we ever had internet. I like having it, because of stop motion, wrestling, etc, but I think in the long run I would be better off without it. You honestly don't miss out on anything special by not having it. When I walk around my school and when I'm sitting in class all you see is zombie like people attached to iPads and cell phones. It's really pathetic in my opinion and is the downfall of my generation. It causes people to lose their originality and creativity.

In my day, we walked barefoot 5 miles to school in the snow, and there was no internet!

I remember years ago, when I used to be shared between my parents through split custody (one week at my Dad's, one at my Mom's) there was a point where my Mom's (old ass) computer broke. I was moderately happy, because I knew she would get a new computer that is up to date, but she didn't for years. So for a few years, I had internet one week at my Dad's but then the other, I'd be stuck in my room with absolutely no internet at my Mom's.
Just picture being able to browse the web, download stuff, use Instant Messenger, X-Box Live and The Playstation Network one week, and then the next you had none of that. And on top of that, unlike my Dad, my Mom was really strict and wouldn't let me hang out with friends.
