We all know that the World Title has fallen on hard times in recent years. Back in 2002, when it was debuted, the World Heavyweight Championship, at least I'm my mind, was THE belt to to have in WWE. Triple H was the top guy and he carried it on the top show for several years. After the World Title was sent to SmackDown!, it became the second tier belt. It was still very important, with guys like Undertaker, Edge, and later even guys like Jeff Hardy carrying it, but as time went on it became clear through placement on the card and such that even calling it a 'World Title' just didn't feel right.
Like him or not, John Cena is THE man. He's the face of pro wrestling. Cena winning the belt, defending it, calling himself THE champ, it elevates the title again. And now with John coming to the ring tonight and holding his belt up against Orton's, as if to say "I'm the man, and this is THE belt," I really feel like they're upping the importance of the Championship.
What say you?
Is it heading to a unification?
Let's hear it.

Cena/Orton is so stale.. So stale. They need to develop and push new talent with the belt. I'm sick of this garbage. how many times can I watch an Orton/Cena match? Orton is just repulsive, not even remotely entertaining. I've only seen Del Rio Cena now 96 times....
WWE sucks balls right now. Bring someone out of nowhere to win the belt and get them over the right way. They're so clueless.

I think Del Rio was a fine champion. Bryan was a good champion. Sheamus was a good champion.
I think the WHC gets a bad rap because a lot of people didn't like Del Rio.

For me the WHT died down in 2010. That was the last year the Title ever closed a PPV. Since getting drafted to SD the WHT lost some prestige but still closed PPVs a from 08/09.

Don't think that's the move. Triple H says "the guy makes the Title. The Title doesn't make the guy." I honestly agree with him.

I agree to an extent of having a Brock Lesnar or Kurt Angle coming up after a years time and winning a top title. It's more surprise value. But, once they do win it they must ride high. Someone like a Sandow doing it I think it would be a bust. Someone like _________ doing it and it could work. Mason Ryan or Alex Riley maybe. As long as it's booked properly. Alex Riley pipebombing John Cena for burying him backstage for only sticking up for himself. That could be real and bring out the truth on Cena. I'd buy

The fact that Orton and Cena are still on top going into 2014 is sad. If WWE continues to be this stale, I'm going to become completely uninterested.

Can't really blame WWE...since WWE have been putting Bryan in the main event since August, buyrates were down and ratings were down. Summerslam which was headlined by Bryan and Punk was down from last year - Lesnar and Cena are proven draws but people just don't see guys like Punk and Bryan as main event material. As soon as Cena came back ratings have been going up. I know most of the IWC won't like this, but your indy darlings Bryan and Punk are not main eventers and really don't belong. Just because they came out of ROH doesn't make them big time players. Lot of fans are really biased towards the indy wrestlers think these guys should be thrown into WM main events out of developmental.

WWE needs two championships, unless they want their champion to work nonstop and appear on both RAW and Smackdown.
WWE would need to elevate the Intercontinental and U.S. championships, but they've buried them so hard in the past. It would be hard to reclaim their former prestige.
I like the WHC more, just because it has NWA ties (it's not the NWA title, but I feel it carries on its prestige, since NWA only existed on paper for a long period of time).

What say you? Is it heading to a unification? Let's hear it. I feel like they're contradicting themselves by doing that. If it is important, why feel the need to prove that it is to Orton? This makes it seem as if Cena will try to show he is better, more important than Orton, & still the face of the company. It will prob lead to a unification - which is the opposite of the title being important. The World Title has felt fine to me the time Del Rio has had it. It felt fine when Ziggler got it & even when Daniel Bryan had it. Del Rio's run really made it seem solid though for me personally. WWE always wants us to forget the past though & Cena has always said 'nothing means more to me than the WWE Title.' So we all have heard him say his title now is less important than the one he wants from Orton. Going after Orton makes the World Title far far less important & makes no sense if they want two titles that are top - so I expect they'll unify (which sucks).

What are they gonna do after the unification? The new wwe title has only been around for a year and the old WHC has been around for 20+ years. One of them has to go. What will they do?

Will it be unified somewhere down the road? Yes. It will most likely be unified by Wrestlemania or it will just be unified in the main event at Wrestlemania.. What are they gonna do after the unification? The new wwe title has only been around for a year and the old WHC has been around for 20+ years. One of them has to go. What will they do? As for the design of the unified title, they would probably stick to the current Big Logo title since its a perfect marketing tool for the WWE with their logo emblazoned on the main plate all big and shiny. The Big Gold will be put into the hall of fame and be apart of history.

It might not necessarily make it any better having it unified.

Until they can bring back a stricter version of the Brand Extension, this is what it should look like:
-WWE Championship (big stars, main-eventers) -Intercontinental Championship (mid-carders, future stars) -United States Championship (low-carders, jobbers, guys WWE won't take a chance on) -WWE Tag Team Championship
I have the feeling that the unification is happening at TLC, and the current WWE Championship design will be kept for the Undisputed Championship.

I just don't really want to see Cena Vs. Orton again, and I hope to god Super Cena isn't the one that takes down the Authority :/

I can't believe no one wants to see this but me. I have been wanting to see Randy Orton face off with John Cena again for a long time now. I can't wait for this storyline to progress I'm actually really interested and can't wait for RAW tonight.

The title died when the brand split ended a few years ago. It meant something when cm punk cashed in his mitb for it over the wwe title. But now it means mid card title
