So after I got Bruno today, I decided it was time for an updated picture of all the WWE Champions that we've gotten so far since RVD won't be out for a while and we have no one else on the horizon. Looking at everyone we haven't got left, there really aren't too many left to make. Buddy Rogers Ivan Koloff Pedro Morales Stan Stasiak Billy Graham Bob Backlund Hulk Hogan Ric Flair Sycho Sid Kurt Angle Jeff Hardy (a real one) Obviously, some of those names are much more likely than others. But who else would like to see Mattel try and complete this prestigious list of superstars? I'm hoping that as we get closer and closer to finishing the list that Mattel will make an effort to filling in some of the gaps (I don't see them exactly racing out to make a Stan "The Man" Stasiak anytime soon). However, Hogan, Flair, Backlund, and Sid all seem like they have a high probability of being made (Koloff too if we get a Nikita). Leaving Buddy Rogers, Stan Stasiak, Pedro Morales, and Billy Graham as low possibilities. Rogers, Stasiak, and Morales for their lack of name power, Graham for his seemingly poor relationship with WWE. Angle and Hardy would obviously be high on Mattel's list, but their TNA status being the only obstacle. (really wish we had just gotten that damn Jeff Hardy in wave 1). So is anyone else with me? This would be something really special for Mattel to accomplish and befitting that the greatest wrestling line ever is also the only one to give us a complete roster of WWE Champions (even Jakks was like 5 or so short when they ended). Rogers, Stasiak, and Morales at least have the benefit of being very simple to make with almost no paint apps and no new sculpting needed (besides the heads). Let's get some momentum behind this!

Well to be technical, Diesel held the WWF Title, not Kevin Nash. I'd like to see al the champions made eventually. There isn't a toyline that was able to get all of them out and it would be pretty big undertaking if Mattel could do it.

It's a shame Pedro is always overlooked I've wanted him since CS1. He had great matches back in the day especially vs Muraco.

I'm really surprised he never got a Jakks figure. He's in the Hall of Fame and is still alive, seems like the door is open. Well to be technical, Diesel held the WWF Title, not Kevin Nash. Just like I include Papa Shango in my IC champ pictures.

I've got no interest in figures of Buddy Rogers, Ivan Koloff, Pedro Morales, Stan Stasiak, Billy Graham and Bob Backlund. But if Mattel felt like losing money just to say they did what no other company has done with the champions, they could put a basic six-pack of them as an online exclusive somewhere so people that are interested could buy them.

Maybe I'm just missing something, cuz I'm on my cell phone and can't see well, but did you blank someone out above CM Punk?

Cool lineup, thanks for sharing. We'll probably get a few more to fill in the WWE championship ranks, but I doubt we'll get all, however it might be a worthwhile project to do some customs down the line if you want them all.

Going as far to say that Mattel would just lose money? There'd definitely be a market for them, just a matter of finding a way to cater to that market. Considering how easy they'd be to fix up, I'd actually be ok with something like an exclusive basic "Champions Set", to at least include the heads to make them. A six pack with Rogers, Stasiak, and Morales with some popular repaint of guys like Warrior, Savage, Hogan, Michaels, RVD, etc, it'd sell

Personally I'd rather have repaints of Cena, Orton, Sheamus, and Mysterio from their championship days. I have no use for old geezers that were wrestling before I was even born. Guys like Stasiak, Morales, Backlund, Koloff, and Graham would not only generate zero interest in figure form, but they would fail to even remotely cut it in today's WWE.

Call me crazy but I think the old WWWF era champions would sell well on their own as elites if the following accessories were added.
"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers with the WWWF title and towel Ivan Koloff w/ USSR headband, chains, and a USSR flag Stan Stasiak w/ a WWWF Title (plus he had a stocky build that would make him stand out, since he wore plain trunks) "Superstar" Billy Graham (feather boa and sunglasses)... but sadly we may never get him because of the relationship with the company I hope that it will change, or I'll have to get a JAKKS figure of his to add to my WWE champions list. Pedro Morales' skin tone could make him stand out since he had an amazing tan, he did hold the old school IC championship that could be included as well as his red robe with the the orange and red truck we wore would make him stand out. Plus Pedro had a million dollar smile that would be a cool added detail.
But I believe we will see Bob Backlund around the corner it seems that there is a high demand for him.
I hope we will get all the champions eventually since we are so close to getting all of them. COME ON MDT: TIME TO MAKE HISTORY!

Exactly, look at everyone clamoring over Bruno. If Bruno can make it at retail, then these guys could make it on Ringside.
I'm not saying that these guys should be made in place of someone like Sting or Shamrock, but if the WWE line as a whole is performing as well as we've been told, then branch out a little bit.
Saying that these guys would be nothing today is a moot point and completely ignorant. They were a product of their time and a part of the legacy of this business. And of those guys, I can say that Ivan and Superstar would still get it done today.
As a former WWE writer recently said, if Undertaker started today, he'd get saddled with a crappy gimmick, exposed because he can't talk, and released because his limited moveset would cause him to not get over.

Of that list, Flair, Hogan, Sid and Angle are the only must haves for me. I have a custom Hardy that's pretty damn accurate…

AMEN! Preach it my brother. Give the older stars a chance I think that they should do a Ringside exclusives with these guys. We are missing a massive chunk of the history of the WWE still to go. Those guys might not have had fancy ring gear, but damn they are the foundation of the company without them there would be no WWE. Give us the WWWF ERA MDT!

Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, And Jeff Hardy are the only other ones that I would care enough to get figures of. I really don't now about the other ones listed.
