So now about 6 years deep into the PG era, what has been your favorite year? For me it was definitely 2012. We had Punk as champion ALL YEAR, Ryder or riot in late 2011 and mid 2012, Y2J's return and feud with Punk, Rock vs Cena, Bryan as a great heel for some of 2012, rise of AJ Lee, the return of masked Kane, HHH vs Undertaker, etc. 2012 is one of my favorite years of all time as a wrestling fan.
How bout you guys?

2009. SD was the top show with guys like Hardy, Y2J, Mysterio, CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin etc. I just enjoyed that year a lot.

This one. Only things I haven't really enjoyed were Rock as WWE Champion and still not showing up, and Del Rio as WHC after he turned heel.

2012.
Punk's year long reign and PPV matches with the likes of Ziggler, Bryan and Jericho.
I sat front row at Mania 28, which I consider to comfortably be the best Mania of the PG era.
The return of Brock Lesnar. He had an incredible match with Cena in what I considered to be one of the best matches of the year.
Antonio Cesaro won and held the US Title.
Dolph Ziggler won MITB.
Raw 1000 delivered in a big way imo. The DX reunion I've always wanted and what I consider to be CM Punk's most memorable WWE Title moment ever when he turned heel on The Rock.
Ziggler vs Jericho, Punk retained, and Brock went over, all at SummerSlam.
We saw, love him or hate him, a new babyface arise in the form of Ryback by HIAC. (Yes, they completely ruined him but up to that point, he felt special).
Ziggler pinned Randy Orton in the middle of the ring, with a super kick no less, to go over at Survivor Series.
The Shield made their long awaited, for some of us, debut in grand fashion.
The Shield had the best TLC match on PPV since the Attitude Era with Hell No and Ryback.
Dolph Ziggler main evented a PPV, and won, against John Cena.
It was a really fun year, where yes we got a whole bunch of Cena overshadowing Punk, but I still got to see so much cool over last year.

Not even guys like Orton, Triple H, Jericho, Batista, or Lesnar can say they did that. Have they beat Cena? Yes..in the main event of a PPV? Nope

I'd go with 2012, but that's not saying much because a majority of that year was forgettable. But with Rock vs. Cena, Punk's title reign, Lesnar's return, Taker and Triple H in the Cell, no Cena in the main event, etc. there were definitely some good moments in there.

2010 2012 2011 2013 2009 2008 (Only counting Summer 08 and on/when it became PG)
2011, 2013, and 2009 are all very close to each other; I could probably order them any way. But the PG portion of 08 was probably the worst, and 2010 and 2012 were the best and second best respectively.

I always seem to s*** all over 2009, but once the Summer hit, Smackdown got really good. RAW was meh, but I remember I enjoyed Smackdown for the rest of the year. Taker Edge (although he got injured) Batista Hardy Jericho Kane Punk Mysterio Morrison Benjamin Great roster indeed. And one of the last years of Smackdown being an actual show that felt like it had something to offer. 2010 was like that too, but in 2011, Smackdown turned into what it is now.

Easily 2012. Haven't enjoyed wrestling that much in a long long time. Such a great year. Rock beats Cena, Lesnar comes back. We are introduced to Cesaro, Sandow, and RYBACK (who destroyed everyone that whole year) Punk held the WWE title ALL YEAR. And Cena didn't touch it. we got the Shield at the very end of the year. and just so much more in between. Not sure how this past year sucked so bad.

I like 2011 for the pipe-bomb promo and the MITB match between Punk and Cena. I was really down on the WWE until that summer. The great build-up to MITB and the absolutely rabid Chicago crowd reminded me why I watch wrestling. Also, the WM 27 match between Taker and HHH is my favorite of the entire streak.

2013. I ing love 2011 and I put it second. It used to be first but this year has kicked so much ass. I'm loving every minute of it.

2010 gets my vote. It had the great January 4th show, the incredible Shawn Michaels retirement storyline, the Straight Edge Society, Batista's egomaniac run, the whole Nexus deal, commentator CM Punk, and the rise of The Miz.
2009 sucked. Smackdown that year really started the terrible trend of long, pointless matches with no build-up and burning out every fresh combination for no reason. Cena vs Orton dominated Raw. But Undertaker vs Michaels at WrestleMania was great, as was Batista's heel turn, the whole DX run, and the Miz vs Injured Cena feud. Decent year for Kofi and Sheamus, too.
2011 The Rock's return, and he was pretty bad after the first night... And it had the CM Punk pipebomb thing which then turned into CM Punk's bad babyface run... And it had the fall of The Miz, and too much Del Rio... But it also had the awesome Undertaker vs Triple H WrestleMania match.
2012 had some good (Cena vs Lesnar at Extreme Rules, Sheamus vs Bryan at WrestleMania, Bryan's whole year was great actually) and some bad (Cena vs Big Show/Johnny Ace, Albert returning, the murder of Ryback at Hell in a Cell), and the three-hour Raws led to too many filler matches. 2013 has really taken the filler match concept and ran with it.

Exaclty. Thats why I fast forward the matches. And gosh! don't get me started with Shield matches......
