They have a preview of issue 1 on WWE.com. I think it looks pretty damn good.
I read the comics that Titan Magazines put out, they were not the greatest, but they were pretty crazy and out there so I enjoyed them. Sadly they just kind of died of and storylines were left unfinished.
Hopefully that won't be the case this time. I think there is also going to be a comic aimed more for kids next year - maybe something like the great Tiny Titans?

Will probably be terrible. They can't even get good storylines going on their shows so these comics will just be a flop.

It's written by Mick Foley and from what I've seen of it, it looks pretty awesome as long as you don't go in expecting this to be an actual wrestling comic.

Well still, the chances of this being half decent is very low. If any thing it'll be a stupid little cartoon like comic aimed at 5 year olds with your mum and fart jokes.

They have a kids-themed comic coming out next year. This is a more serious comic targeted at teenagers and young adults, not to mention it's not being written by complete idiots who don't understand who these characters are. Mick Foley is writing this. He knows who all these guys are and what he should and shouldn't do with them. It would probably help if you actually knew anything about the comic instead of just spouting off stuff like this. It looks really good and I have faith in Foley. The art was bad and so was the plot. I'm thinking the Kids themed comic might be based on the WWE Slam City cartoon. It'd make sense, have that comic, the show and the toy line all at the same time. Kind of the same marketing strategy Transformers and G.I. Joe had in the 80s.

The art was pretty damn rough in some places and the plot was crazy, but I wouldn't say it was an abomination. They weren't first rate, that's for sure, but as a shlocky B-movie type comic I thought they were pretty cool. Though I do remember looking at the art for all the tattoos and details that were missing. There was supposed to be a John Cena series with him in Rome that never came to be The new book looks better.

Well I actually read a lot of comics and manga and there has not been a single wrestling related comic or manga that has been good and they've been wrote by some of the best comic and manga writers. This has nothing to do with the fact you know nothing about this WWE comic and have just been spouting off nonsense from the start. Way to ignore everything I'm saying, though. WWF Battlemania was awesome, as were a lot of the Kinnikuman manga. Yeah, that was Titan Heroes. There was supposed to be a John Cena series with him in Rome that never came to be. My god, that Orton/Batista match where they were drawn exactly the same and had no trunk design/tattoos, so it was hard to tell who was who. They had Mickie James blonde in one panel, then brunette (even kinda redheaded) in the next panel she appeared in. re: the plot - I hated the whole Hunter is an immortal incarnate thing they went with, I hated Taker telling everyone to keep calm when a religious cult hijacked WrestleMania. Let's be honest here - Taker's gonna kill all of them on his own but they made him out to be a wuss. The whole thing was just...bad. I had VERY high hopes for that comic, but it kind of looked rough from the start. This comic looks real good, though. I remember the Undertaker miniseries and I was told that was worse than regular Heroes. The Cena in Rome series could have been neat if handled correctly.

From what the 10 page preview has to offer, it is very impressive. I've never been into reading comics so hopefully this will get me interested in other comics.

If you do look into this and want to find more comics that are good, I'd be more than happy to recommend some X-Men and Batman stuff should you want to seek that stuff out.

Looks like it could be the best wrestling comic ever, not that that's tough. Heroes was really bad. Anyone remember the attitude era comics? The main one was that Undertaker one (that I don't think ever ended properly?), but they did little mini-series of Rock, Austin, Mankind and Chyna. I think the plot for all four was "an evil gang takes over a small town until the wrestler passes through and saves the day."
I loved Battlemania as a kid and I actually bought them again a few years ago, but they were pretty bad too.
Anyone read Headlocked? I read a few and didn't get that into it.

Haven't bought it, probably won't. Why hasn't anyone mentioned the epic masterpiece... Warrior? Or the comic about Nash?

Bringing up the Nash comic after Warrior makes it seem half-decent by comparison. I mean, yeah, it was horrid, but Nash didn't rape Santa. Also, since we're talking about mixing comics and sports: Behold NFL SuperPro: A book so bad, it had a guest star in every issue because they couldn't come up with a personality for the main character. Also, a book created solely because the writer wanted free NFL tickets.

If you could PM me that info that would be great! Bendis' Daredevil run for phenomenal superhero stuff. During the years it was done, it constantly won "Best Superhero Comic." Also, if you want some suggestions on non-superhero comics, I can help with that. Side note: Your namesake is an X-Men character.
