I always liked Ready To Rumble as well.people crap on it but quite honestly they are taking it too seriously. wasn't there also a wrestling movie called "Grunt"? -- It's a candidate in the poll.

-- Even though I got to be in the crowd as an extra, during the Triple Cage scene, in "Ready To Rumble".... I went and selected The Wrestler from 1974.
Vern Gagne as World Champ, Billy Robinson as the up & comer who challenges Vern... cameos from Mike Graham, Jim Brunzell... Vince McMahon Sr. with a speaking role... and of course Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch kicking @$$ in a bar brawl scene. 70s star Ed Asner is the mainstream name of the flick. It's definitely different but something any true wrestling fan might enjoy!

Body Slam! Dirk Benedict + Roddy Piper = instant classic!! I was going to say pretty much the same thing. Dirk Benedict was awesome. Face from the A-Team managing wrestlers, in the 80's. Game, set, match.

Ready to Rumble The Wrestler was good, but portrayed the business in a bad way, IMO. I can't comment on The Wrestler, as I have never seen it, but Ready to Rumble didn't do any favors for wrestling either. Sure it's entertaining. When it came out there was a quote that someone put in a review (that was a wrestling fan) that said "The movie made wrestling fans look like trash and the wrestlers look like idiots." I can see what they mean, but not to the extent of which they meant it, seeing as this movie is pure fluff.

Paradise Alley and The Wrestler. I never heard of Paradise Alley before There are quite a few famous wrestlers in it. Ted Dibiase, Terry Funk, Dory Funk Jr, Ray Stevens, and Dick Murdoch to name a few.

No Holds Barred easily. Ready to Rumble was one of the dumbest movies Ive seen. It was Blair Witch Project bad, but still terrible. Not to mention David Arquette is as annoying as jock itch...Plus the God awful movie help solidify WCW's death as they put the strap on Arquette simply because of that movie.
