Just like the title says what if you got robbed? And are you prepared in case someone robs your house? I know it's one important thing all collectors should consider, because nobody wants someone to enter their house and take their collection away from them. My neighborhood seems to always be the target to get robbed. My house got robbed the first 2 weeks I moved in and unfortunately all they took was my mom's purse and PS2. Yesterday someone robbed my neighbors house and stole all their money and information such as SS cards, Bank information etc. even stole their truck. I have managed to get an alarm system, put steel bars in the windows so it can't be open without taking the bar out and have a display case with my collection that has a lock on it. I have two small dogs, but in this case I can easily talk my mom into getting a bigger dog. If my house got robbed again my room would easily be the first target with all my collection and valuable posters.

my house used to get robbed all the time. One year we got broken into 3 times. No thing of value was taken because of my Dog. As for now where i live im prepared i have guns and always have something near by to use as a weapon.

It seems like you've taken the right precautions. I've only had my moms car broken into for some collage textbooks.
Having someone break into my home is terrifying for me to think about

It would suck no doubt, not much you can do unless you're actually there to prevent it. Never happened to us thank god. We live on the 4th floor(top) of a block of flats so it's pretty safe, no one that I can even recall has had their house broken into around here.

I have actually never been robbed personally but my friends have been and well, it really depends on the situation imo.

I have never been robbed by a stranger before but my cousin who is a drug addict has robbed us a couple of times throughout the years. Nothing recently though. My brother also once got his cell phone stolen on Christmas about 5-6 years back by another cousin of mine.

The robbers would think, "WOW! That dude had nothing of value in there!"

Luckily my house has never been broken into. Unfortunately I have all the things of value in my house.

Technicallly, your house can't be "robbed". It can only be burglarized. You can only rob people, not buildings. Just a personal pet peeve of mine.
Anyway, I've got home owners insurance and a rainy day fund. I'd be fine. The one time my house got broken into I actually replaced just the door they kicked in and nothing else.

My security system, my dogs, my guns... and I do have notices up that I have a security system as well as my warning sign that says "I DON'T CALL 911" which includes a nice pic of a hand gun. The house directly behind me got burglarized a couple of years ago at night when they were home. Went in through the basement and took everything they had that was down there.

That sucks you we're robbed. I would be mad if I got robbed. My collection isn't too big, but I do share my figures with my little brother and he shares his with me, but that'd suck to have them stolen from us. My most valuable thing would be my laptop idk what id do if I lost it though.

It's pretty sad that a burglar would break into someone's house to steal toys. Money or jewelry makes sense, but toys? On a side note, I keep some heat that helps me sleep comfortable at night.

When I was a teenager (several years ago) my house was broken into. They took a nice leather travel bag (mine), my X-box with about 20 games, a jar filled with change, my brothers dvd player and two of my dad's guns. That was the only time our house was broken into, but my dad was a contractor/carpenter so his truck was pilfered for powers tools a few times. You never quite get over the feeling of violation.

Well, I live in a very quite part of England (UK) and if anyone lives around Essex -ish area of romford then it's quite as hell. I have a full alarm system set up with sensors. 2 nasty, ing dogs. A younger bro trained in Krav Maga. My dad's an ex-convict as well. I'm up until 3 am everyday and on PPV night, I'm up all night and don't sleep until 5 am when my dad wakes up for work. We have some blunt objects around the house. Of course, we don't have guns.
