Well as most know, announced on RAW tonight Ric Flair returns next week. Ric Flair was close to signing a contract with WWE until SummerSlam weekend and hadn't been used since. There were even rumors that he might of been quietly in rehab. Now with WWE working with him again is it possible a figure might not be far off? Flair and Hogan both no longer under TNA contract and are the most wanted Flashback figures. Both seem so close, yet so far away. Could we be seeing Hogan and Flair Flashback figures under our Christmas trees in 2014?

Ric Flair returned to WWE a year ago.

Ric won't sign a legends deals......because that means he has to follow WWE legends deal rules.

No. We will get a Flair once he's listed in an official line-up.

I imagine WWE (since Mattel won't do it) could get him to sign a merchandising agreement specifically tailored for him. I think that's what happened with Edge recently.

Didn't WWE cut their ties with him for a while when he hijacked the 2K14 event? Pretty sure I remember reading they were about to offer him a contract but decided not to because of that.

Idk why mattel wont sign big guys like hogan/flair easy sellers. But they sign Bruno a name many kids don't know

I still think both Flair and Hogan will get slotted into a lineup before the end of the year. I doubt we see any figures until 2015 though. On a related to Old School Raw note, I hope mattel gets to work on a Backlund figure soon. He's been making semi frequent appearances since his HoF induction. Of course I don't know if he even has a legends deal or not.

The upside is, with him back on TV, they seem to be done being pissy about the stupid 2K14 thing. So maybe, they can finally work out some sort of merchandising deal, everybody can make some money and we can get some figures. It's a good sign to me.

I predict this time next year we'll have a Flair & Hogan. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Mattel is already working on Hogan as we speak.
