Jakks. I like Mattel, but Jakks made everyone they could in Classic Seies. Macho Man, Steamboat, and Owen Hart were the only guys missing. If you were a 70's guy, you had a hand full if names, an 80's fan had a pretty wide range of figures. But the 90's fan was loaded. Easily having a full roster of ECW figures, aswell as WCW. Obviously WWF ran the roost with a roster from 1990-1999. Jakks didn't screw around with legends, and even threw us some curve balls with strange figures. I wish Mattel's qualitu Elites could clash with Jakks checklist. I would be a pretty damn happy customer to even get 10 of the names Jakks had for ECW. I had a full and active roster of ECW figures. Tajii, RVD, Jericho, Super Crazy, Little Guido, Balls Mahoney, Taz, Sabu, Bam Bam Bigelow, Paul Heyman, Joey Styles, The Dudley Boys, Spike, Rhino, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Raven ( TNA Jakks)... Had a ECW title, an used the WWF world title as the TV title and 2 classic IC titles as Tag Titles.
Sorry Mattel, you may have the better figure model, scale, and paint apps. But I don't see you going anywhere near Jakks checklist.

With MATTEL its all about money, with JAKKS it was about what WE want, not what WWE or MATTEL wants!

Definitely unfair to compare considering how much time Mattel has had the license compared to Jakks.
In 10 years we can compare rosters (hopefully Mattel keeps the license that entire time).

Jakks started making WWF Bone Crunchers figures in 1995? And Mattel didn't get WWE till 2010. Jakks wins for having The Patriot, Chainz, Kurgan, Jim Cornette, Commissioner Michaels and The Sultan

Jakks gave us midcard classic superstars and even some jobbers - I don't so Mattel ever doing that. They have a different business model. Better, more expensive figures, but the less popular guys are gonna get left out. So that's why Jakks wins.
Hopefully this will change sometime in the future, but given how quickly the Legends line died, I'm not betting on it.

With MATTEL its all about money, with JAKKS it was about what WE want, not what WWE or MATTEL wants! Yeah, cause "WE" wanted Rey Mysterio's the same size as the Undertaker, "WE" wanted guys like Swagger, Triple H, Kane, Matt Hardy and so on in plain black tights/trunks, "WE" wanted Paul London, Brian Kendrick & The Miz with John Cena's lower body. Need "I" say more? Mattel all the way.

Mattel has Dean Ambrose, Jakks doesn't. There you have it. Alright now that's true. I have his Elite and Basic figure and it's one of my favorites, but I like the Basic scan best.

I would have been so pissed if I were TNA coming in with a new contract with them.

This is such a silly topic, to be honest. Jakks had the line for close to 15 years and Mattel is just starting its fifth. If Mattel has the line for as long as Jakks did, maybe you can compare it then but they haven't had nearly the opportunity to create a roster the size Jakks did.

Jakks did make Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz...
Seriously though, Mattel has barely began to touch the surface in terms of legends as where Jakks was everywhere. I don't know alot about RA's but I don't think Jakks rereleased this many Cenas, Reys, or Ortons. However, as previously stated Jakks had the license for years where Mattel is still fairly new in the wrestling figure world. I can't really answer this question until we truly see what Mattel is capable of legends wise because I think Mattel has done pretty well with the current roster. In short, Jakks: Legends Mattel: Current roster.

Well, Jakks had more figures, but Mattel's figures blow Jakks out of the water... so it's all in how you define "better." Do you define the better roster as the one with more names, or better looking interpretations of the workers that will look better on the self?

Jakks had the wwe liscense for like 15 years, so of course they (as of now) have the better roster. I mean the BCA guys alone had figures that Mattel will never make (headbangers, flash funk, Marc mero, ect). It's not really fair to compare such things right now.....but in 11 years from now, if Mattel is still doing WWE, I think they will have done everybody they could have possibly done & were allowed to do by then.
But if you wanna do mattel vs jakks years 1-4 ONLY, then Mattel has done way better than Jakks IMO
