WWE Network launching w/ a huge live NXT special.
WWE reportedly thinks NXT could be a huge success for the new WWE Network. And could become a 3rd tier show behind Raw & SmackDown.
Is it happening? Are we gonna finally getting an NXT series of figures?

Yes, we are going to get NXT superstars - when they are on Raw or Smackdown.

I can see Mattel maybe doing a NXT set kinda like Flashbacks of wrestlers already in the WWE like the Shield, AJ or something. The set would probably be just basics since I don't think Mattel would take a gamble with Elites.

They would be cool as a single NXT superstar in a series, but not sure I like a whole series of them

I sure hope so, since I'd buy them. Most times I enjoy NXT better than Raw and SmackDown. I just hope that Bo Dallas loses the NXT Championship on the live special on the 27th.

I just see the way things are lining up. And to me it point towards an NXT basic series. Because don't forget NXT has WWE stars on it too [Yoshi Tatsu, Curt Hawkins, Tyson Kidd, Antonio Cesaro]. So maybe put in 4 NXT stars and 2 WWE stars per set.
*NXT was talked about alot last year, as possibly getting back on US television. *Bo Dallas debuted for WWE last year, and never got a figure. If WWE was willing to put him on a PPV, on RAWs, and get a win over the IC champ Barrett. I find it suspicious that we've never heard a peep on any Bo Dallas figure. He debuted @ last years Rumble. So if they made him it would've hit stores in the last 2 months. Maybe they are saving the figure for an NXT line *WWE made the Performance Center down the street from NXT *HHH regularly appears on NXT now and is very high on the product *this years WWE2k14 video game includes the Orlando NXT Arena, NXT heavyweight championship belt, NXT tag championship belts and includes DLC moves for Paige, Kassius Ohno, Adrian Neville, and Leo Kruger. *Instead of waiting for wrestlers to get called up.....or using WWE provided ref material, MDT now decides to goto Florida and scan NXT wrestlers? They could've been doing this for the last 3 years. *WWE Network is pushing NXT hard. *Toy Fair is 2 weeks before the Network launch.
in my mind. The stars are aligning here. Action figures and Videogames are great forms of marketing/advertising. Last years Toy Fair was a mega disappointment. After years of MDT showing new product and having lengthy Q & A's. They didn't even attend last years Toy Fair, nor did they show any new product. So my hopes for this year were pretty much dashed. As far as Mattel/WWE figures are concerned.
But wouldn't it be smart to launch a new 6 figure basic NXT line.......right after the launch of the biggest thing in WWE since they bought WCW?
I'm pretty certain this Network is going to blow up. Why not have NXT Sami Zayn and Bo Dallas figures available when this happens

The trouble with NXT figures is they can change a gimmick at any time.

This is awesome, but the fact that we now will never get a Chris Hero Mattel figure or American wolves is pretty disappointing.
If only they started this like 2 months ago.

Not a chance. Mattel wont make a guy like Magnum TA (even short packed) because "not many people would know him" yet people would know some "never was" guy in NXT that may or may not even see a live TV show on cable? I couldnt name you 5 NXT wrestlers and Ive been a wrestling fan for over 25 years.

Nope. Not gonna happen. But cool that they've got them scanned, that means they can start working on the figure as soon as someone hits the main roster.

Yea I dont think this is part of a plan to start making an NXT series...
The guys from Mattel have already said, they are scanning EVERYONE (now that the WWE has their facility in Florida at full swing) so that if and when they debut on the main roster it will save them a lot of time in production.
