With the network now supposedly having every single WWE DVD i'm starting to think about selling off my DVD collection. I have lost count of how many DVDs I have, but I have every mania, tons of PPV's, Ton's of Summerslams and Rumbles,LOTS of documentary's, etc etc. I could probably get a good $700 If I sold off my collection?
I'm thinking about it, but what if the WWE network is a failure and I lose all of my video library. I also love collecting DVD's and going every Tuesday that they release them. I honestly don't know what I should do?
Do you guys think I should do it?

Wait till the Network comes out.
It'd be premature to sell your collection if you own things that don't end up in the Network collection.

Really, it depends on how you feel about collecting. I have a moderately large WWE DVD collection (I stopped buying Pay-Per-Views in 2006 and now only buy Wrestlemania on Blu-Ray, and a few others on Blu-Ray when they're cheap), but, as an avid movie collector, I consider them to be part of my collection, so, despite their availability on the network, I have no current plans to get rid of them.
I've often considered unloading the rarer ones, though, especially when you see what they sometimes go for on eBay. I've got all the 2000 PPV DVDs, Judgment Day and Vengeance '02, for starters. I could likely get a pretty penny on those alone. But, again, part of collecting is having rarer items, so I've never actually gone through with it.

No way! Even if the network doesn't work out its still cool to have all the DVDs. If you spent all that time collecting them I'd definitely keep them.

Yeah there's no point in selling them. You already own them and second hand DVDs aren't worth much anyway.
The WWE network might not even last that long.

If you need the money do it but if your financials are good then don't...

I wouldn't sell them either, cause nobody knows for sure if the Network will even be around in 10 years.
Also, the DVDs you have, the shows or matches may not even be on the Network yet - or at all!
I know they said all content will be on there, but this is the WWE, sometimes they tell some white lies here and there.

On the other side of the spectrum, I got rid of all of my movie collection ages ago and I have very rarely regretted that decision.

I'd say get rid of the PPVs but hold onto the documentaries.
No reason to keep the PPVs as they will all be on the WWE Network until the end of time.
The documentaries are more collectable and might get pulled from WWE Network from time to time like they do on Netflix.

It's up to you, but I'm keeping everything I've purchased. I'm sure that DVDs/Blu-rays will go the way of the VHS tape at some point relatively soon, but I'm going to hold onto it all as long as I can. I personally like feeling like I own a physical copy. I know that's likely going to become an archaic opinion as we switch more to digital streaming and digital downloads, but that's just how I am. I want to look at my shelf and see my collection. I think DVD/BR will also age better than VHS as long as TVs continue to come equipped with hookups to play the players.
Paying to have access to a video library isn't the same as owning a video library. Yes, it's amazing to have access to all that content but it's only yours for as long as WWE provides it to you and you'll pay for it.
With all of that, this will greatly decrease the number of WWE DVD/BR purchases I actually make moving forward. I know Netflix has already done this so the Network will likely have the same impact tenfold. I won't buy something just for the sake of seeing it. I'll buy it because it's something I feel I need to own. Chances are I might watch something on the Network and then decide to buy it if that's still an option.

I've thought about it too. I have every PPV ever released on DVD. Probably only missing like 20 other DVDs to have the entire collection.

You will have to pay a monthly fee anyways, its not like its a one time deal. In the event you cant pay at least you have your DVDs.

I've spent 15 years building my own DVD library - I don't plan to get rid of it so I can rent digital titles, the size and content all dictated by WWE - you know there will be further edits to music, crowd reactions, etc..... I consider the DVD's to be collector's items on their own - and as this poster said, I'll probably change my buying habits moving forward. And what happens in five years when WWE decides to raise the price & reduce the content? I'll still have my DVDs.....

I like having DVDs, same as comics and graphic novels. It's handy having them digitally but I like looking over at my shelf an d seein what I have physically, even choosing what to watch can be swayed by what the DVD cover looks like. Sometimes summerslam 2001 pops out to me an in it goes!

Here’s a few questions you should ask yourself before making a decision.
1. Do you still watch the DVDs from time to time?? 2. Will you get a good sum of money for your collection?? 3. Will you miss the collection once it’s gone?? 4. Are they just collecting dust at home?? 5. Are you planning on keeping the WWE Network subscription even if it goes up in price?? 6. Do you happen to have Backlash 2002 to SummerSlam 2002 and every PPV DVD in-between these two, in good, watchable condition?? 7. Do they have the case, case cover art and all of the inserts?? 8. Do you have PayPal?? 9. Do you accept PayPal gift?? 10. Is there anything in my classified thread that you might be interested in for trading for said PPV DVDs??
If you answered no, yes, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes, then my friend, it’s time to sell…or trade to me.

On the other side of the spectrum, I got rid of all of my movie collection ages ago and I have very rarely regretted that decision. This, I only buy a select few movies now. I went from about 200 DVDs, to maybe 10 and a few Blu-Rays. You can basically stream pretty much everything, and with cheap services like Netflix I see no need to keep a bunch of disc around. If you could get about $700 for all of them I'd take it and get something you've had your eye on.
