That's pretty crazy to imagine bands on the radio still working to pay the bills. They signed a terrible deal with their original label. They were fronted a whole bunch of money, then they weren't promoted at all. So, they ended up owing their label the money they were given. (Also keep in mind that bands make hardly any money on record sales because the labels take all of that.) It's unfortunately pretty common in the record industry, which is why so many people are self-publishing now.

That one is surprising. I've always heard how friendly he was. One of my best friends met him when he was in the hospital and talked about how cool he was. I joked that it was his "Make A Wish" and then scolded him for not talking Superman (my friend and I have worked on comics in the past). How was that? I went to high school with those guys and the lead singer was always a dick to everyone. I'm just curious if he grew out of it. I met the lead singer a couple times, but I wasn't around him enough to know. I didn't say too much, so he didn't say much to me (can't blame him for that). Once, I bumped into him before their show & he gladly signed a personalized autograph for my brother that I was hoping to get. I said thank you & he went on his way to do whatever he was doing. Another time, the band signed a hat & I told them I enjoyed the music; they were kind of swamped with other people though, but they seemed in good spirits. I've heard rumors about things he's said about another band on his same record label (at the time) & saw him poke fun at one of the other band's songs at a concert (when figuring out which cover the crowd wanted)...but I won't hold those things against him. Rumor could be true or not, but there is a nasty, nasty rumor of why the original bass player was let go. I won't mention what, since it's only from word of mouth. I'd also heard from several people that saw them...even when still on Windup Records, between later CD's, the guys were working at an Olive Garden to make ends meet while writing, practicing, etc. That's pretty crazy to imagine bands on the radio still working to pay the bills. Shaq was really young. He had played one year in the NBA & I think he may have just been a little overwhelmed by the number of kids (8-14 year olds, I believe). He looked happy when he got there to say hello to old coaches, but I think the autograph signing was maybe 500 of us; IDK that he'd experienced that before. Also saw him a year later with the rest of the Magic in a hotel, but they just walked passed everyone. Dennis Scott was pretty rude to someone that wished him happy birthday, but I think he was a pro autograph seeker. If it was just me & my brother waiting & they saw us...maybe they stop for a second. We waited like 3 & 1/2 hrs to see them though, so it's one thing that made me realize...celebrities are just living their lives - I won't let mine revolve around meeting them.

I work in Hollywood, California so I've seen quite a few celebrities. The ones I see quite often are: Common, Michael C Hall, Jason Bateman, Quentin Tarantino, and Russell Brand. As far as WWE stars, I've only met Miz, Chris Jericho, and RVD. -- I used to live in Hollywood, when I was 18-19 (2 blocks north from Hollywood Blvd & Labrea), and again when I was 21 (West L.A., near Santa Monica Blvd). In L.A.... Met the entire cast from That 70s Show & Cheap Trick after the TV show's CD release party (which was free to attend), met and became friends with Dino from Fear Factory, met Tom & Pam just before they divorced, crossed paths with Sarah Michelle Gellar and she gave me the "double look" , walked passed the heel from "Happy Gilmore" & "Dutch", met & chatted with Peter Steele from Type O (RIP), met Brian May from Queen, met Shane Helms on the set of 'Ready To Rumble' (I was an extra, during the Triple Cage scene), participated in the Guitarmageddon 2000 competition @ Guitar Center in Hollywood and 2 of the judges were Bruce Kulick formerly from KISS and Izzy formerly from G&R, I wrote a column for a music & entertainment magazine that was well known throughout the record companies in L.A. (not really a celebrity, but the magazine publisher my roomie at the time, dealt with TONS of rockstars and pop stars). And finally, at Fan Axxess during Wrestlemania 2000 weekend, met the APA, Bob Backlund (got my first wrestling lession from him), Great Moolah & got Fred Blassie to call me "Pencil Neck Geek" (which made Moolah LOL) in what would become a BIG lifelong memory for me!! Aside from L.A., I've met.... Bud McGregor (kid star from the 80s), shook hands with President George Bush, met former World Light Heavyweight Champ Virgil Hill, 1st wrestler I ever got to meet was Little Beaver when he walked into my 1st grade class & promoted the midget indy show that night at the school gym (which I didn't get to go ), met Vinnie Paul & Dimebag after a concert (watched Evan from Biohazard beat up a drunk, for tampering with the satellite dish that was airing the Tyson/Holyfield fight, after that very concert), met John Kenny from Type O after a Pist-On show where he filled in for their drummer (got him to sign my band's debut CD at the time), met Ana & Maria from Drain STH and then met the guitarist & singer from Machine Head, crossed paths with Johnny Lang at a music store in Moorehead MN and that guy is a d**k!, met Triple H & Chyna in Minneapolis at a Walmart the day before Summerslam '99 (Hunter called me a "douche bag", Chyna gave me a hug) & at the Summerslam PPV got to meet Zakk Wylde (he bought me a beer and we chatted about Ozzy and his new band at the time BLS - we're even shown together during the Shane/Test match on the DVD), met Joan Jett & Joe Elliot of Def Leppard at the airport here in Bismarck and ended up flying with them to Minneapolis, talked to Dan Severn over the phone in 2003 (he would eventually become one of my trainers, in 2006), talked to Roland Alexander RIP over the phone (he kept calling my house, trying to recruit me for his APW Boot Camp), met Edge & Shelton Benjamin after a WWE house show, met Jesse Hernandez (well known in the biz during the 80s and into the early 90s) he taught me to bump and I also trained under Ricky Reyes (ROH Tag champ at the time), met Brock Lesnar the day before news broke he was in talks of coming back to the E in 2005, met Lenny Lane & Molly Holly at my first ever indy show When I moved to Michigan to break into wrestling.... Met Dan Severn obviously since it was his training facility/dorm I moved to, was in a battle royal with Michael Tarvar from NXT as well as Zack Gowen, met Jimmy Jacobs since he was on the roster of the company I worked for, trained in MMA classes with Luke Zachrich season 6 of UFC's TUF, my other trainer was Josh "Abercrombie" Raymond who later went on to work for WSX on MTV and ROH on HDnet. Back home in ND..... Trained in MMA classes with Leo Kuntz season 8? of UFC's TUF, worked cards with Lenny Lane, Dakota Darsow, Arik Cannon, Honky Tonk Man, wrestled Buck Zumhofe... Traveled to Toronto for UFC 129 (won tickets and passes from TapouT on a FB contest) and at the fanfest I met Ben Rothwell, attended a Herb Dean referee seminar, and met my favorite former octagon girl Edith Labelle. At the actual PPV event, I sat in front of King Kong Bundy (was depressing seeing him in a wheelchair, but I thanked him for being instrumental in the biz). The last celebs I encountered was when I participated in a TNA GutCheck seminar (met D'lo, he instructed it and critiqued everything we did, including my last ever match.. even got to work a few spots with him); funny thing is, the dressing room us contestants were using, was the Knockouts dressing room for that night's house show. Earl Hebner popped his head in and met us in the dressing room, Dewey met us during the seminar. Following the seminar was the show, and after the show was over, helped tear down the ring and went to one of the bars in the same facility the show just took place in. Met and had a beer with James Storm (really cool guy!!), met Christopher Daniels, met Tara, met Bully Ray (for a fellow BLS follwer, he was kind of a d**k), watched ODB gettin goofy with some local girl, watched SoCal Val hook up with the local radio DJ, and watched Austin Aries sit by himself enjoying the LIVE band that was playing. Was kind of disappointed in the lack of kayfabe from those TNA stars, as Bully Ray (a face), was hanging out with Devon & Doc (both A&8's members), along with Daniels (heel) and Storm (face). Those are all the celebs I can recount for now, there might be 1 or 2 missing. Daffney herself contacted me on eBay about possibly doing a trade for the 2pk of her I have up for sale, but after I wrote back to her, she hasn't responded yet. === Almost forgot, Dale Brown (the man who discovered Shaq, and coached him at LSU) used to idolize my late grandfather, in the early 1950s. He eventually became (and still is today) a friend of my family's. In fact, I've only shared this info with family of mine on my FB, but I'll share it with ya WF'ers now....... When word got out that Shaq was training in MMA, I was waiting to hear about his interest in stepping foot in the cage - I was going to contact Mr. Dale Brown, to relay a message to Shaq, that I wanted to be his first opponent (since I've technically got more MMA training than I do pro wrestling training). But Shaq never made any statements about stepping foot in the cage, so my challenge never did get to see the light of day. It was a BIG possibility at the time; now, it's impossible, as I'm a dialysis patient and have all sorts of health problems from it. Since getting sick, a friend of mine got to meet Rhino in OH, and she told him about my being sick - he told her to tell me, "Get well soon so you can get back in the ring!".

Not Prince's actions, the fact that Prince did something that wasn't completely insane.

Sounds like you've met plenty celebs, I myself stay near Dodger stadium but work in Hollywood near Vine and Sunset. The only person I've ever felt starstruck about has to be Hillary Swank and what made it even sweeter was the fact she was very nice.

Or part of his character? You've met a big ol' boat load of people. I forgot...I was in a Subway waiting for a guy in my band to get off work one night...Wee Man came in & got a sandwich with his girl. I didn't say hello - just let him do his thing & he left, waved to us from outside when he was at his car cuz we were looking to see what kinda car he drove (curiosity).

Since getting sick, a friend of mine got to meet Rhino in OH, and she told him about my being sick - he told her to tell me, "Get well soon so you can get back in the ring!". sorry to hear you've been sick, I'm sure that isn't easy (understatement) Was HHH serious when he called you that? Or part of his character? You've met a big ol' boat load of people. I forgot...I was in a Subway waiting for a guy in my band to get off work one night...Wee Man came in & got a sandwich with his girl. I didn't say hello - just let him do his thing & he left, waved to us from outside when he was at his car cuz we were looking to see what kinda car he drove (curiosity). -- Hunter was half kayfabing; what happened was, I presented both he and Chyna with a PWI to sign, and a WWF publicist stopped me from handing it over, saying they couldn't sign it because it wasn't a licensed WWF item - hHh then followed it up with, "Yeah ya douche bag!". I think he was being real, but also staying in character (which is probably who he was in real life anyways). Chyna more than made up for it with a hug thou (one fan gave her a dozen roses, and one of the stems cut my arm, small price to pay for hugging the 9th Wonder of The World).

I met Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne at an autograph signing a few years back.
I met comedian Donnie Baker (from the Bob and Tom Show). He signed my hat.
I went to high school with NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie and was close friends with Kenny Wallace's daughter Brandy. Had biology class with his other daughter Brittany.
I've met NASCAR drivers Elliott Sadler, Casey Mears, Carl Edwards, Scott Wimmer (which is obvious considering I live in his hometown and he owns a racetrack here), David Ragan, Kurt Busch, Larry McReynolds, Jeff Hammond, and a couple others.
I haven't met any wrestlers yet, but my mom and brother met Ric Flair. They both said he smelled like booze and was acting drunk. Not very professional during an autograph session.

-- A couple more I forgot about...
Met all the members of In This Moment after a concert (got them to sign the download card of their newest album "Blood", up for sale in my store -cheap plug-)... Met Bob Zany & Costaki Economopoulos from the Bob & Tom Show, after a comedy show up in Minot... I drove passed the lead singer from Killswitch Engage while he was on a skateboard after a concert & told him 'kick a$$ show'.... Walked passed the lead singer from System of a Down, in the hallway at a hotel they were staying at (just across the room me and my pals were staying in; my buddy who drove us to WI, got to meet them and smoke up in their tour bus, the day before), he even acknowledged us as we walked by - I didn't know who he was at the time, but sure enough later that afternoon at Ozzfest, that same lil fella was up on stage singing..... and I met Butterbean when he co-main evented an MMA event with Dan Severn (me and another student of Severn's were working Dan's merchandise booth), at a strip club after the event.
I think that's all the celebs... I don't mark out or get star struck, never really did. They squat & $#!t like I do, so no reason to freak out or get nervous when meeting a celeb.

Ted DiBiase Jr.This had to be my coolest experience meeting someone. So I'm at this high school basketball game. And this guy I know beside me says," Somebody told me that that guy up there is Ted DiBiase." I freak out. I look up there and it is Ted DiBiase Jr! I go up there and get a picture and an autograph. I was shaking the whole time. Very nice guy. But I was wondering. What is a former champion from WWE doing at a high school basketball game? He tells me he's here for a guy (that I know) that is on the high school basketball team. Very cool. (Just click it to enlarge it.) (Edited out my face for privacy reasons.) Multiple stars from TNARVD, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Garrett Bischoff, Magnus, Robbie E, Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, Bully Ray, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Mr. Anderson. Brett FavreMet him at Applebee's. So I'm with my mom and my dad. Our food comes and me and my dad are so hungry, we never look up from our food. But my mom sees a woman come in who she thinks is Brett Favre's wife. But then she sees Brett Favre walk in. She leans over to me and says,"Brett Favre just walked in and sat down in the booth right beside us!" I said,"Yeah right." But I looked and it was him! Got an autograph from him. I think that's it. Will update if there is more I just forgot about.

Wrestlers I've met/got photos with: John Cena, Triple H, The Miz, Santino Marella, Kane, William Regal, The Big Show, Primo Colon, Raven.
When I went to WWE's house show in Melbourne in 2006, I was sitting a few seats away from Geoffrey Rush (Barbossa from Pirates of the Caribbean). He was a really cool guy. Such an unexpected meet, since I didn't know he liked wrestling, plus I wasn't even in great seats.
Also got photos with Eliza Dushku, Billy Boyd (Pippin from LOTR) and Evanna Lynch (Luna from Harry Potter).
Bands I've met/got photos with: Seether (twice), Hoobastank, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Tonight Alive (several times), Michael Starr from Steel Panther, Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge, Derryck Whibley from Sum 41, Corey Taylor from Stone Sour/Slipknot and Jinx from Black Veil Brides.
