The customer is always right. I worked in retail for 7 years. If the customer is wrong, the sale doesn't go through and the seller doesn't get money. It's simple as that.
The reason why we are arguing on a public forum is because I was trying to get answers and thought someone on here may have some for me that might know him or may have dealt with him in the past, which I got. His computer crashed, which I was unaware of and thought this place would be helpful, which it was / is. There is no argument now as he said he has shipped. My only problem is how he went about things and tried to tell me all sales are final and would not issue my refund. He printed the shipping label AFTER I opened the case and after I requested the refund. Sick or not, he didn't go about things the right way with me. How are you going to piss your buyer off with threats like that?? Granted it was for a little amount if money, but I don't care if it was for 25 cents or $25 or $250. If I pay, give me my $#!+ or give me my refund or, at the wry least, give me an explication. Don't tell me I can't get my money back if I want a refund. It's called EBay Buyers Protection, not EBay Sellers Protection.
It's all good. I should be a little more patient, a very little more patient, but he should be a lot more considerate towards customers, paying customers.
Get well, NAC and thanks for helping me complete my collection again.

Coming here for questions is all good and fine, it was when you named him later on that I was talking about. I actually respect you for coming here and getting other people's opinion instead doing a knee-jerk reaction like most people would do. Like I said, I had no problems with what you said except for that "customer's always right" part and having a private argument in a public matter (which wasn't the initial purpose).
"The customer is always right" is an archaic term of salesmanship that's been misconstrued. First off, it was a sales method, not a rule. It meant that you should work with the customer and make them feel important rather than catering to their every whim like people think it means now. Also, it's from a time when people were generally honest. The customer always being right is why we end up with people returning Mattel boxes with Jakks figures in them. The customer isn't always right; the customer is rarely even in the same ballpark as even halfway right.

Oh I agree. The customer is right when the customer is honest, but absolutely, the customer isn't right when the customer isn't doing what's right. Those people are just pricks who try to cheat the system. I wasn't trying to cheat the system or in this case NAC. I didn't name him until I told him I would, and he told me to go ahead and do it. My exact words were WFigs will hear about this, and his response was, "go ahead and I'll respond with the truth." Truth is, I'm right. Under any given circumstance, hospital or not, I'm right and his response to my refund request of "all sales are final" really pissed me off.
It's over and I expect my Mattel Hardcore Belt to get in my hands by next week. If not, I'll let EBay deal with him. I won't close the case till I get the Belt or my money back.

Oh. I didn't know you had contacted him first about publicly sharing his name. I have absolutely no problem with it, then.

-- I was expecting Patrick to mention this in the forums here. Now let me explain WHY exactly I wasn't able to ship out until earlier today... The night of the 22nd, my laptop crashed. So obviously, I had no way of obtaining anyone's shipping addresses - nor any way of contacting the buyers to let them know, I wasn't able to ship any of their packages out. I finally got my computer back on the evening of the 29th. I sent a message to all of my buyers (Patrick wasn't the only one), and they were all actually very understanding of the situation... except for Patrick. I also explained to each of my buyers that I wouldn't be able to ship out on the 30th, because I was going to have surgery on my shoulder that morning (to have my dialysis catheter taken out), and that I would be in the hospital all day. Again, all the buyers were really cool with it, some even wished me to Get Well. Not Patrick. But he can rest assured, his item (and the over a dozen or so items that I've sold since my computer crashed) were all shipped this afternoon. These things happen, I pride myself on shipping out within 2-3 business days, just depending on my dialysis schedule. And when buyers are understanding, it's encouraging as a seller who's on disability. But when a buyer like Patrick gets too impatient, it clearly shows buying on eBay may not be suitable for him due to his lack of patience alone. And I can say that with confidence, as I stated before, every single buyer was ok with what happened, but 1... Patrick! Given your past history on here with people in classifieds, I don't think you should be critical of buyers (I'm not going to get into that though, because that's another story). He was just a bit concerned, as most people would be in such a situation. Just cut some people some slack and work things out. Not everyone is the same, and as a long-time seller on ebay myself, you do get a load of different scenarios with buyers. -- You brought it up, explain yourself.

-- Oh and Patrick, with your way of thinking, I guess every other customer I've had this past week is wrong and you're the only one right... right? Mad about how I went about handling things... that's garbage from an impatient customer. If you really did work in retail sales, you outta know damn well there are customers you just can't reason with - well I'm the salesman who'll tell you that as of right now: You're now one of them! As I stated before, every single other of my customers had NO PROBLEM with what happened, and were VERY Understanding about the situation. You were the only one who got their panties in a bunch. The "all sales are final" has always been a policy of mine. If you weren't sure about refunds, you should have asked me about refunds BEFORE you purchased the item (that's what ANY buyer should do before placing a bid or buying something from a seller, because all sellers will be different. Some offer refunds, others like myself don't - it's up to the buyer to inquire!). According to eBay, once you lock in a bid, you're obligated to follow through with it by paying for it. And I appreciate that you did, my problem with you though, is even after the fact that I was courteous enough to inform all my customers what had happened, you still had guff with me. And dude, it was only a week - I can't imagine how much of a hissy fit you would throw if someone didn't ship your item out in 10 days or more. But as a seller, I'm still happy to know there are customers out there who are kind and understanding, and on top of which: PATIENT Those are the customers I absolutely love dealing with and it makes eBay a joy to do bidness on.

It wasn't the one week of waiting for my item to get to me. It was the one week of waiting for a response from you. Look, it's over and according to you, my Belt is on its way. I still don't see it on its way in the tracking system on EBay, but I'll keep looking. Get well soon. If you ever come across the 1 / 500 Jakks Metal ECW, TNA, or UFC Belts, let me know. HAHA!!
