So basically ROH is the new ECW but with good financial backing.

That was nice to see, plus they basically name dropped every worthwhile indy promotion on the East Coast.

I hope they work together. Like how Eddie teamed with Amazing Red. They could have roh guys come on TV and wwe guys do matches with guys on roh. Just think Kevin Steen vs John Cena. Wishful thinking

The rec center on Long Island.... That was Sports Plus in Lake Grove they are talking about right? As far as I'm aware of that's the only venue they wrestling in when they were in Suffolk County. Plus I was there for every one they did.

I liked the article. I learned some things I didn't know about Ring of Honor. Seeing the photos made me wish it would have worked out with Kassius Ohno

Really cool they did this. It'd be cool if they did a similar story as they did ECW in the late 90's. Maybe even have Rollins a and Cesaro join the faction and they try to get Bryan. Bryan could cut a hell of a promo on that kind of situation.

Great article. I still think its so strange to hear ROH being acknowledged by WWE, but I love it!

That was one of the strangest, coolest, articles I have ever read on WWE.com. Thank you for posting because I definitely would have missed this. DBryan gave a shout out to Ziggler, and Daniels, AJ, Low Ki, Chris Hero, and Amazing Red all got name dropped. That was fantastic. Great to see Gabe and Cabana both contribute here. It's no secret where WWE has been pulling their talent from over the past couple years so why not acknowledge it. Also, what a compliment to Jamie Noble. Very talented guy and doesn't get enough credit for his ROH and Cruiserweight contributions imo.
It's probably smart to have Gabe serve as a feeder system. he obviously has an eye for talent and if WWE can look to him for Indy wrestlers then WWE can have the perfect mix of bodybuilder or football types and then a segment of more experienced guys as well. Coming from ECW, Gabe was used to guys coming in and out. That's a benefit over someone like Cornette, who seemingly gets butt hurt every time someone wants to just tryout for WWE or leave for TNA. Gabe understands his place in the pecking order. I have to wonder if WWE spoke with Gabe about boxing out other promotions around Mania time. If WWE would make the exception for only DGUSA and Evolve shows, thus WrestleCon as well for the Legends and Alumni, then that would help Gabe box out ROH or other promotions on that weekend. I'm just speculating here but I think it's interesting they had him do this interview.
Anyway, that was awesome.

So basically ROH is the new ECW but with good financial backing. But ECW was more popular than ROH has ever been. Then again, that's what ultimately killed them, getting a cable show, having PPVs, they overextended themselves. So maybe ROH is right where they should be.

It'd be cool if they showed some ROH shows on the WWE Network...

Awesome that they would put that on WWE.com, if only they did this type of stuff in the magaiznes. Really cool that they mentioned Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Low ki, Amazing Red and Colt and Aries was in the background in one of the pics.
Really nice article, thanks for posting.

Pretty neat read. Especially since it's on WWE.com That's not pg even the Feinstein would want so bad for it to be.. It is pretty cool to see this article. It actually made me realize just how many Indy guys from 02-08 have been successful in either TNA or WWE. Hopefully they keep getting talent from ROH of DGUSA and Evolve just so after ten years that bodybuilder champion mentality would have dissipated and we would get true longevity in variety in the main event scene.

I can't wait for WWE to buy ROH's library in 20 years and then induct Kevin Steen and Nigel McGuiness in the WWE Hall of Fame. That would be surreal.
