I havnt had a video game system since PS2. I got married and the wife hates games but I kinda want to get a system anyway. So since I havnt paid attention to video games for a few years im wondering what are some of the pros/cons of the different systems.
I kinda would want to get a ps3 just to play the gta game I missed. But I guess PS4 is the future. Or is Xbox a better choice?

I own an Xbox One, but, honestly if you're not a fan of first party Microsoft games (Halo for me) then I would go with the PS4. If I didn't have my live paid off for the next 16 months and have over $200 in credit on my account then I would have probably switched and went with PS4.

Just look at the exclusive titles for each system and see what you would be most interested in.

Wii U. It doesn't get enough recognition. It has great games on there, and deserves more credit.

I love the Wii U for the first party Nintendo games, but I cannot recommend it as the only console someone owns. It's basically dead on the third party front. It's just not a smart choice for someone as the primary game console as the Nintendo releases come every 3 or so months.

Get an Xbox360
Xbox Live is a better online gaming service. You can get a new system for a great price, and there are like a million awesome games to play. yeah the One is the latest and greatest, but its less of a video game system as it is an all around entertainment system.
If you just wanna play games, get a 250gb 360

I would say Wii U but if PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are your only choices, then PS4.

Everyone can nitpick but for the casual gamer, lets be real. Xbox and Playstation are pretty much the same.

If your interested in playing online multiplayer games (ex: Halo, Call of Duty, GTA) I would go with either the Xbox 360 or Xbox One. Play Station online is horrible, accounts get hacked it seems every six months, and plus Sony is soon going to make you pay for online subscription serivce, so I would rather trust the established Xbox Live over play station. Now if you don't care about online gaming or Xbox exclusive titles such as Halo or Gears of War, Play Station all the way. The best pure gaming system there is is Play Station. Personally I own both the PS3 and Xbox 360, but I play the 360 100 times more just because I have close friends on there that I game with. But what ever system you choose, they are both great, but great in different ways.

I'd say get a PS4 if you have the money. Its a much better investment over the long term compared to last-gen (which will likely only be fully supported for one more year, two at a push) and the library of great games will begin to expand fast. Plus, if you ask me, Sony has better exclusive franchises, and PS+ is better value for money than XBOX Live Gold on the free games front.

Neither for now. Wait for a price drop and for games to come out.

If you want a system now, then a PS3 or 360. So many incredible games for both, and good prices now.
The PS4 and Xbox One are still very early in their life cycle, and it'll be another year or so before they have a top-notch catalogue of games (and will be cheaper).

If you love GTA I highly recommend it. It doesn't matter which system you get on but if you're looking to play the older ones, the entire series will most likely be available once PlayStation Now. So unless you have a lot of friends that play it on 360 I would go with the PS3.

Honestly? Get either a Wii U or a 3DS, the Xbox and Sony consoles just release tons of games that are ok, but really not worth putting your time and money into (unless you're into crap like COD).
Nintendo releases a small amount of games but they're all memorable, different and worth playing multiple times. Nintendo also provides free online services and very frequently give away free games through promotions. You'll get far more enjoyment out of owning the less-but FAR superior games of the Wii U/3DS than the bulk of sheer crap that ends up on MS/Sony consoles.
Personally, I could easily live without a ps/xbox. The only reason I have a 360 is because of WWE and stuff like the South Park game that's coming out, but most games get released on the PC now anyway.
