I still say that Vince just needs to give Punk the Austin match. Punk has been relatively disgruntled since the whole Rock situation. I think Punk wants that type of match and he wants it with Austin. No better way to do it than giving Punk a ton of time off and then have him return and work the angle as a heel against the biggest star in the history of professional wrestling, who also seems to just be waiting for the right opportunity for another match. I mean obviously we will see how this thing plays out. WWE has to be dreading the Chicago crowd at this point. They aren't going to sit silently and Punk isn't returning to make them happy. As a fan of the guy, I just want him on my TV. As a person, I respect that he needs time off. On JR's podcast with Austin, Austin said that he's not returning to the ring, and that we all need to get that image out of our heads. I would love to see Punk v. Austin. If the build was played correctly, I'm positive it could be as successful as Rock v. Cena I, maybe even better.

We as the fan are not going to know too much about it all at this stage, we should just wait, watch and see what happens. What's the fun in that?

Read the word sabbatical.....thought of friends and like to think this is how it went down I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this after the Punk malarkey.

This (Royal Rumble to Wrestlmania) is just about the hottest period for wrestling/WWE - so if he doesn't return by the RAW in Chicago, then I don't think he'll be coming back at all... I mean, if he doesn't/wouldn't return for 'Mania, would he really come back just for 2 or 3 months before his contract's up? Doubtful.
To be honest, I'm not that bothered either way - sure he's had some great matches, but the whole "CM Punk" character was getting very stale... and with all the returns (Hogan, Undertaker, Brock, maybe Sting) and hype/stuff going on with the Network, WWE don't really need him.

Punk returning in Chicago makes sense, and the crowd response would be huge and great for TV and for the WWE Network aftershow if they have one like this mondays. What would also be fun to see is if Cult of Personality plays to get the crowd to pop and have HHH troll them all, especially if they do it near the end of the show and the fans are chanting CM Punk all night which they probably will. (I'm all for messing with the WWE Universe as much as possible ) WWE also has CM Punks outside appearance up on their page. Fri Mar. 28, 2014 - 03:30 pm WIZARD WORLD LOUISVILLE COMIC CON LOCATED IN THE KENTUCKY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER, LOUISVILLE, KY, UNITED STATES Come meet WWE Superstar CM Punk at the Wizard World Louisville Comic Con located in the Kentucky International Convention Center from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m week before WM?
