Anyone been watching this on HBO? It is fantastic. I always liked Woody Harrelson and Mathew McConaughy is such a great actor.

Yeah, it's fantastic. Matthew McConaughey has been doing career work as of late. His scenes set in the present day (during his interviews) stand out, to me, as some of the absolute best work of his career. The show is just wonderfully crafted, like most HBO projects.
For those that are interested in the film and technical side of things, that 6 minute continuous shot at the tail end of episode 4 is downright insane.

It really is brilliant on all accounts. I'm so glad you mentioned the last scene in ep 4.

Amazing show.Like Breaking Bad good. McConaughey has really turned his career around. Mud, Dallas' Buyer's Club, The Wolf of Wall Street, True Detective and Interstellar later this year. McConaughey winning an oscar for Best Actor would have been a joke few years ago but dang he really made a turn around.

It's one of the best shows I've ever watched. That's taking into account of Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, etc..
The 6 minute scene that was all one shot was literally mind blowing.. Some of the most impressive directing I've ever seen.

I'm really enjoying it, especially the last couple of episodes. It's a slow burning show, but the performances are phenomenal. I can't wait to see how it ends.

One of my favorite shows out there now and in general, that 6 minute continuous pan of the camera was from a technical side, production gold.

Absolutely fantastic show. Gets even better when you don't have to wait a week for a new episode. One of the very few newer TV shows I'd actually add to my collection when it's released.

Yes, I'd recommend it. Keep in mind it's not really action heavy. You're investing in a continuous dramatic story-arch with this program so if you're looking for a great story then you should enjoy it fine.

Love the show, my kind of show seeing as drama is one of my favorite genres. I'm going to be sad when the season ends though. Season 2 revolves around a different story and different cast.

This is probably the best show on TV right now. You have no idea what to expect from the characters from week to week, and what's really great is that they have at times sacrificed advancing the story for character development. Very rare in today's TV. It's a shame that Woody and McConaughey are probably done after this season, though. But I'm really excited to hear who is cast for season 2.

HBO is probably the best at character development, OZ, Sopranos, Entourage, Newsroom.......you actually forget you are watching actors and get caught up in these character's lives. So good.

The ending scene for ep 4 is one of the best I've ever seen, movie or tv show.
Everyone is great in it, especially mcconaughey. Just a mind blowing show. Haven't been this invested in an HBO show since the Wire.

"There were other times I thought I was mainlining the secret truth of the universe," "You're the Michael Jordan of being an a**hole." "You wonder ever if you're a bad man? Rust: No I don't wonder Marty. The world needs bad men. We keep the other bad men from the door." “I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. … I think the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing, walk hand and hand into extinction.” Needless to say, I think this is the most well-written, best executed TV show I have ever seen. That's including Breaking Bad. I just love the philosophy of both Rust and Marty, as well as the nuance of the mystery, the supporting details, the setting, tone, direction. This has elevated itself, imo, to a level of cinema.
