I’ve been looking forward to this for quite sometime! My apologies for the tardiness of this review but real life keeps throwing me some curveballs that occupy my time. Lets get this started.
Nice introduction by Jim Cornette and, I have to say, you captured his passion very well. Cornette’s a guy that rants and raves about the injustices of life in professional wrestling and you captured that very well.
Match One: King Of The Mountain Qualifier One - 15 Man Over The Top Battle Royal I love Battle Royals, especially as an opening match because they really hype up a crowd. The competitors in this 15-man Battle Royal are all pretty damn good so I’m unsure of who will walk away as the victor but if I had to guess…hmmm…I’m going with Sami Zayn. Let’s see.
Hey! Look at that! I was correct! I thought Willie Mack was going to win – five elimination is a pretty damn good showing – but Sami Zayn survives and is headed to the main event. I’m curious to see how this plays out! As for your match writing…it’s decent. It does seem a tad bit rushed, as if you you’re trying to spit out the moves that come to your mind’s eye. It just needs a little bit more polish. Hell, when I first started writing matches I was awful. You’re definitely better than I was when I first started out so I expect you to develop a more polished style as time goes on.
I would’ve had the CM Punk “pipe-bomb” last much longer. Think about the moment: CM Punk has left the WWE because of various frustrations that has piled onto his shoulders throughout the past several years. Here he is, wrestling in front of hundreds – not thousands of people. He’s here because he cares about this business…so let him explain why he cares about this business so much. Let him properly explain why he hates the WWE, why he’s here. You had Steve Corino cut him off a bit prematurely. HOWEVER, I love the idea of CM Punk and The King of Old School in a feud, even if that feuds starts off with Punk battling Corino’s protégées. Let’s get to match #2.
Match Two: King Of The Mountain Qualifier Two - CM Punk vs. Tomasso Ciampa I thought this was a solid match. Again, you’re writing will only improve the more and more you write. I love the finish and I’m really excited to see the seeds planted in a potential war between CM Punk and Corino’s men.
Nice interview between Punk and Lucas Andrews; however, I think it would’ve been better served to have Punk state all of this before his match with Clampa.
Match Three: American Wolves vs. The Young Bucks Two excellent tag teams squaring off against each other? Count me in. This was a really nice back and forth encounter and, so far, the best match of the evening. I think it’s pretty evident you’re a big fan of these two teams because you seem to know them well. That’s always cool to see.
Very cool to see that The American Wolves, The Young Bucks and The Super Smash Bros are the first three contenders for the Triple X Tag Team Championship. Very cool.
Interesting interview with Zayn.
Match Four: King Of The Mountain Qualifier Three – Michael Elgin v Antonio Cesaro Really good match, definitely the best from your King of the Mountain qualifiers. Antonio Cesaro is definitely one of the biggest and brightest talents on your roster (and in real life). I wouldn’t mind him ditching “Antonio Cesaro” and becoming Claudio Castagnoli again. Shedding his WWE gimmick in favor of his independent one seems fitting.
Out comes AJ Styles to a hero’s welcome…and he berates the fans! And now he’s interrupted by baby face Chris Hero. Hmm…I wonder if this would be better if the roles were reversed. I feel like Hero is a natural baby heel while Styles is a natural face. Then again, you’re going for something different so that’s admirable. Here comes Jim Cornette, who’s ordering an impromptu match!
Match Five: AJ Styles vs. Chris Hero Pretty decent match with a good finish that’ll undoubtedly add to the spark in this brand new feud between AJ and Hero. That’s Booking 101 there. Good job.
Main Event: Triple X World Heavyweight Title – Sami Zayn v CM Punk v Antonio Cesaro The match started of well…and ends in a no contest. Wow, definitely some crazy circumstances as Kevin Steen shocks the world by having all three competitors attacked by two masked men, who turn out to be Michael Bennett and Jimmy Jacobs. Definitely a crazy way to end the show and it definitely leaves me wanting more.
----
You have such potential and I hope you stick around for a while. Your match writing will improve as will your overall sense of booking, which is pretty damn sharp already. Good job.

Thanks for the kind words man, I feel like you got what I was trying to do with the show and in hindsight a lot of the stuff you said did really make sense (eg Punk's first promo lasting longer). I also like that little hints I've put in have been missed and other red herrings may have been picked up (I won't go too far in to this haha). I think you have me down to a tee with the match writing as well...When I write I usually have a few things that I want to involve such as a couple of cool spots and how it ends and then I write the rest as it comes to me in my head so I can see why it can feel rushed from time to time but as you said practice will make perfect.
The Hero as a face guy may be short lived, I just liked the idea of having AJ as a heel as it's the total opposite of what he normally is, I love the idea of him hating that he's now wrestling in front of hundreds of people against guys who he doesn't think are on his level due to the fact he held a TNA world title and Hero couldn't make it through developmental haha
I have to say it's great to see some constructive feedback, I've seen feedback in the past that literally had paragraphs upon paragraphs of pissing over someone's work due to a few spelling mistakes!
