Love the guy acting like Tanaka will get 21 wins. Yeah striking out no name phillies is almost the same as facing Baltimore, Boston, and Tampa bay. Don't ever change stupid Yankee fans. Funny how in Japan they have some of the best hitters in the world. He went 24-0 in Japan last year, this year, I think he gets 20 plus wins facing the weak teams of Jays, Orioles, Red Sox, Rays.

Woah 20 wins would be huge but calling BOS and the O's weak is false. I see Tanaka struggling and getting 13 wins

They all rely on playing small ball and great pitching, not one good hitter.

Andruw Jones and Casey McGehee were in the top 5 in HR's and RBI's in the Japanese Pacific League last year.....so yeah, the hitters over there are not good.

Wait so pedroia and Ortiz are both crap hitters? And Matt weiters isn't any good? Nice try Yankee fans. Never change. Must be Evan longoria is a crap hitter too since he's not the Yankees third basemen.

Come on, you cant be serious. Better hitters in the Japanese league? AL East has weak line ups? No way this is serious.

This thread is amazing. I can't wait for Derek Jeter to ride his unicorn down the magic rainbow and receive his World Series Trophy. Someone's been eating too much cinnamon toast crunch.

Well considering the Yankees almost made the playoffs with over half of there starters out for the year, yeah they were not winning, but if they were healthy, we would have been raising number 28. But this year everyone is healthy.

As a huge Yankee fan I can honestly say I'm not the optimistic. We spent $250 million dollars and our infield is like Swiss cheese, holes every where. I like McCann and he should make up for some of the power gone from Granderson and Arod. I like the pitching staff so far and like what I have seen in spring training. Tanaka should win 14 games and I would be happy with that.
Also to answer the guy talking about the orioles you can add Nelson Cruz to that lineup. The east should be really fun.

The Yanks have the best team. The best pitching staff in the east, a decent infield, great outfield/dh. Should be a fun ride through October.

Just because the Yankees have 27 rings doesn't mean that they are going to do sh*t this year. Yankee fans need a new thing to say.

He's old, it happens, but he's not even serviceable at SS anymore. His Rdrs/yr is going to be atrocious this year if he makes it to 135 games. He's a mascot in the field at this point and every sabermetric under the sun supports it. If he breaks an .800 OPS over 135 games, I'll sport a Derek Jeter is the ruler of the universe sig until Spring Training of 2015. I get that you're a fan, and that you're excited, and Jeter deserves his swan song, but you're in for disappointment imo.
