It has been a really slow first few months of the year, but the last 2 weeks have been pretty good to me. I knew everything I wanted was going to start coming out right at the same time, luckily I saved some money to be able to get everything I wanted if I came across it, otherwise I'd be broke right now! Last week I picked up some Marvel Legends (still dying to find Black Widow ughh), the WM 30 BPs, Bella Twins BP and the thing I've been wanting most of all the Power Rangers Legacy Dragon Dagger. On Friday I received my Elite 27 order from Ringside, on Saturday I found the WM 30 Brock, and also placed an order for the WM Elite Michaels and Hart, so I'm ALMOST all caught up! I know AlexWestCollects took some great pics of Elite 27 already, but here are a ton of pics I took, enjoy!
Elite 27
I know there have been some great Elite line ups in the past, but this might be the best of the bunch. Every figure in the set is great, and the attires & accessories are all outstanding, MattelDesignTeam did an incredible job on this set, and it might be my favorite ever, but with the way Mattel has been going lately I would be more than happy to change my mind in the future, because I'm sure more great sets are on the way.
Fandango
Wow, the attire is absolutely amazing, the detail on the tights is unreal and the jacket is awesome. My ONLY complaint with this figure, is the torso being way too ripped and the arms being way too big. It suffers from the "Dolph/Cody Elite Syndrome", just way too gigantic, but with that being said, the detail more than makes up for it! Awesome figure.
Kofi Kingston
I like this figure for a few reasons, first because its an updated Kofi with long tights, and the second being, now I don't have to go out and buy the Basic 38 figure to get an updated version, trying to cut back on my Kofi collection.. save me some money.
The Undertaker
I was upset that I now have 4 figures with this exact attire, but the jacket is outstanding and the headscan is great which make up for it being the same.
Rob Van Dam
I wasn't sure about the head scan when I first saw the proto pics but having it in person has changed my mind, I really like it. The singlet detail is incredible and I'm really glad I finally have a Mattel RVD. Can't wait to get the RSE Punk to put the ECW Championship on him!
'Bad Ass' Billy Gunn
FINALLY is all I can say, I had a few Billy Gunn Jakks as a kid and I always hated them, the head scan was always awful, but now I can finally say I have the perfect Billy Gunn. I wasn't completely sold on the headscan when I first saw the proto pics, but I really like it now that I have it. The extra shirts and bandannas are awesome, I can say this is probably as close to a perfect set of New Age Outlaws as we'll ever get, the 1 problem for me being that damn plastic shirt Road Dogg came with, very happy to finally have both Billy Gunn and Road Dogg together!
Dad???
HEY MattelDesignTeam, WE GOT TWO WORDS FOR YA!!!
... WHERES X-PAC?!?!
Rikishi
First of all, I never cared for Rikishi as a kid, partially because I couldn't stand Too Cool, but this figure is amazing. It really might be in my Top 5 favorite Mattel figures of all time. When I first opened my box from Ringside, my dad was near me and saw the figures, and he was stunned at how great this figure looked and I completely agree.
Basic 37 Ryback
I was at WrestleMania 29 last year and I remember really liking the gear Ryback had on, I'm glad they made a figure of it. I have to say though.. something about the Ryback figures bothers me, I don't know why this happens, but all of my Ryback figures have really tight arms, I think Ryback would benefit from a new design.. as for the rest of Basic 37 I have to wait for retail to find Zeb, Perfect and Reigns!
Basic 38 Chris Jericho
I was not a fan of the head scan at first, and to be honest I'm still not sure about it, but the attire was great so I had to get it. Also added some extra decals from Dean I had left over to make it look extra good!
Basic 38 Dolph Ziggler
I have grown to hate all the Elite Ziggler's we've been getting since 19, so whenever a basic with a nice attire comes out I get excited, had to have this figure for my Dolph collection!
Battle Pack 26 Bella Twins
Was kind of disappointed these are essentially repaints from Battle Pack 15, but it is what it is. I'm glad they were at least repainted in red because I liked that gear, hope we see different looking Bella's down the road somewhere.
WrestleMania 30 Brock Lesnar
Really just picked this up for the head scan at first, and because I went looking for the WM Elites and didn't want to come home empty handed... But with that being said I like this figure more than I expected because of the updated trunks.
WrestleMania 30 Battle Packs
Batista / Brock Lesnar
I wasn't going to buy this set when I first saw it, partially because I thought it was going to be the same trunks as the RSE Brock but I was pleasantly surprised to see it's different. As for Batista, its an okay figure, I only had the Elite 6 so I guess I was "long overdue" for a new Batista.
Sheamus / Ultimate Warrior
Sheamus is a complete waste, I threw it in my bin of extras as soon as I opened it, as for Warrior, I really like it and I collect all Warriors, so I had to have it!
Other Pick-ups
Marvel Legends Wolverine, Captain America & Spiderman
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers "Legacy Dragon Dagger"
This was by far the thing I've been wanting the most over the last year, with the upcoming Legacy Dragonzord being second on my list, it is seriously one of my favorite things I own now, and I was so thankful to find it last week, I really thought it was going to be impossible to find, so I almost lost my mind when I found it in TRU, isn't it great when you can find something that just takes you back to being a kid? Bandai has done an amazing job with the Legacy Power Rangers line the last year.
Thank you for looking, hope you enjoyed the pics... I'll update this thread with my WM Elites when they arrive from Amazon, also hope I can find B37 soon, and of course the JR Build a Figure set whenever the hell that finally pops up!
