Joe Gibbs Racing confirmed today that Erik Jones will replace Matt Kenseth in the #20 in 2018.

Does 5-Hour Energy go with him I wonder? Matt should just go to the #77, they need a driver for '18 if they plan on keeping the car next year and he could still (sort of) be with the Gibbs organization. I feel like Gibbs and Visser could work something out there.

It's part of the exclusivity agreement that Monster Energy has with the entitlement sponsorship. They were allowed to stay because they signed with Furniture Row prior to Monster Energy racing a deal with NASCAR. They could move to the #78 (which is what I think will happen) but can't change teams. Plus, they (5 Hour) couldn't move to Gibbs since they've also got their deal with NOS (who is apart of the Monster family).

It's kinda funny how the two drivers JGR were able to lure away from Roush will now be gone. I assumed Denny would be the first of the 4 to leave, mostly due to those big names there. Kenseth especially seemed to perform well after moving. It surprises how fast things change. Sponsors are fickle, but I guess I'd be too if I were funneling money into that sport expecting results.

Larson won pole but due to an unapproved adjustment, time is disallowed he'll start last and Truex will win the pole. I'm sure the theorists will bitch that NASCAR is trying to help Toyota/Truex....

No, NASCAR only helps Jimmie Johnson...nobody else...just Jimmie. This is the oldest trick in the book, though. Throw out a small-fry situation for people to jump all over as a smokescreen to conceal your true objectives. Not fooling me...

NBC's broadcasters make me wanna put my tv on mute Yeah it's pretty bad. If I had a nickel for every driver name botched, incorrect driver referenced, wrong information said or just pure nonsense thrown out there, I'd have a lot of nickels.

I cant remember exactly what was said but I think it was Jeff Burton talking about a driver and said "That can make your numb go leg"...I just shook my head. Oh well, off to a real track next week.

LOL. NASCAR is saying they won't penalize Justin Allgaier because the "wheel never came off the hub" It's sure as crap not *on* the hub. They sent him off pit road with zero lug nuts and that's okay? Please.

They are saying that the 7 team isn't going to be penalized because the tire didn't fall off the car. If that's true that is a load of crap. They have stated that if 3 or more lugs are unsecured result in a 4 race suspension for the crew chief, tire carrier, and tire changer.
