Didnt watch the race but saw the replays. I really dont see what Sadler is upset about. He got under the 18 and the 18 just kept racing. He didnt wreck him or run him off the track or anything. Just raced hard. If Sadler has a problem with that maybe he should hang it up. Honestly its kinda sad to see him keep trying to hang on. He was never that good in the first place. Also I think this is the first time we've all agreed on the same thing.Who are you people and what have you done with my NASCAR thread? Calm down...we still got a race tomorrow haha

I missed the race cause I was at Justice League. Sounds like Sadler is just mad cause he doesn't get free M&Ms anymore.

Anyone but Truex winning today will be a travesty. Harvick is my favorite out of the 4 but Truex just deserves it.

Anyone but Truex winning today will be a travesty. Harvick is my favorite out of the 4 but Truex just deserves it. It’d indeed would be a travesty. I’d say Kyle is the next best option if we’re talking legitimacy. He’s been second best. A scenario where neither of them leave with the title would be a cluster .

I'm watching the Patriots game because... you know... priorities. I'm depending on you guys to let me know who wins the title and whether they deserved it or not

It’s funny how the top four always run together every year at this track. Apparently Larson didnt get the memo that said "only let the championship guys run up front for ratings"

That’s in’ cool, good for Marty. One of those endings even if you hate the guy you can’t complain about it because he deserved it so damn much.

Happy to see Truex win it. In a system where the driver who deserves it most doesn't always get that chance, I'm glad the guy who deserved it most this year won it this year.

Good for Truex.
Also, goodbye to Dale, Jr. You weren't your daddy behind the wheel but you still brought a lot of attention to NASCAR and seem like a genuinely nice guy. Enjoy your retirement.

Since we've got the season over officially I'm going to word vomit here real quick.
I'm not envious of the position that NASCAR and their suits are in heading into the off-season. They've got a few months to figure out how they're going to retain their current fanbase with the rash of retirements that have happens over the last several years and hopefully attract a new fanbase in the process. I'm not naive enough to believe that millions of people are going to throw their hands up and quit watching because of retirements and the sport is going to collapse. You're going to have fans during the course of the off-season trying to figure out how much [or how little] they want to keep following the sport. You've got numerous people who are watching their favorite driver's ride off into the sunset and their sport looking less like what they fell in love with [so to speak] all those years ago. How do you keep them for 2018? It's a tough challenge and I'm not sure their up to the challenge. Their reaction has always been "CHANGE THE CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT!" when they try to improve ratings / attendance for the sport. I'm not sure what more they could change with the format anyway. They seem content on keeping the current aero package which is questionable for anyone who is trying to decide how much time / money they're looking to invest into the sport without their favorite driver(s) running anymore. It's a series dominated by 1.5 mile tracks that produce the same ole racing with many of the same winners (See: 1.5 mile winners in 2017). So.. what changes? It.. can't be nothing. We can't just keep doing the same s*** and expecting everything to be fine. NASCAR can hold pre-race conferences and say everything is fine. But.. is it really going to be fine? I don't know. I can't see the future. I've just got my opinion and some common sense. In the end.. i'm just saying, it's not something I'd like to be in charge of over the next few months.
That's it. That's all I've got. Onto 2018, I guess.
EDIT: Also.. I've realized over the last - I don't know - six or eight weeks that I'm going to miss the hell out of Dale, man. He wasn't my favorite, wasn't someone I disliked, he was just kinda there. I'm going to miss that dude man.

I feel like the way NASCAR is headed with retirements and drivers pretty much forced out with how tough it seems to be nowadays to find a good ride/legitimate sponsorship, the Cup field will be down to 30 cars sooner than later.

We've still got all these bright 14 - 15 year olds in K&N Pro Series / 18 - 19 year olds in trucks with rich daddies ready to buy rides man. I'm totally being sarcastic. You're right though. Sponsorship / money / lack of rides is a problem that'll get worse overtime.
